The Autism Gift

On this Episode we put the spotlight on racial and ethnic differences in children identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We speak Anitra Cole who has a son with autism, Anitra is working hard to get legislation passed to improve funding underserved communities. Adding to the conversation we have Dr. Michael Quinn who is the Chief Operating Officer at Autism Support Now. Dr. Quinn reminds us of how a lack of resources in less fortunate communities creates other problems and habits for people on the spectrum. Last and certainly not least we have Dr. Charles Quigless and his son Charlie "C- Quig " Quigless joining us and not only is C - Quig on the spectrum but he is also a successful rapper, dancer, and singer who performs regularly and also attends college. We have three very different perspectives on autism yet they still express the same message that autism is a gift that makes individuals unique in a positive manner.
