Bloom Where You're Planted
The Bloom Where You're Planted Podcast sponsored by Never Too Late Cafe is part of the Never Too Late Cafe online community and marketing platform developed to encourage creative endeavors that may have been put on the back burner for sometimes decades. Developing one’s art or becoming an entrepreneur after so many years during a stage of life often referred to as “the next chapter” or the “second act” can be a scary path to go alone. At Never Too Late Cafe we hope to provide the tools and a supportive environment to share the challenges and the joys of your journey. If you are someone that has ever said, “Someday I’ll finish that collection of short stories that’s gathering dust up on the shelf,” or “Someday I’ll start that business I’ve always dreamed about,” join us to share your story.

Episode 99 - Edwin Martell Pt. 1
Originally from Lorain, Ohio, Martell plays quite an active role in multiple boards within his current community of Portsmouth, Ohio. As a business owner of Elm Street Photography, he frequently utilizes his talents for many local charitable organizations.
His long list of volunteer efforts led him to an appointment for the Portsmouth City Council and during his time there, he worked tirelessly to obtain status and promote the Portsmouth Art Commission. Martell has offered support and encouragement as he served as a mentor for the Juvenile Drug Court. Within the Watch Me Grow Ohio program, he helped to establish a community garden to educate area youth on horticulture methods. As a member of the Shawnee State University Athletic Board, he shares his leadership skills with team members. He was instrumental in obtaining an outdoor public wall for the Portsmouth Street Art Project for individual artists to paint everything from graffiti to original wall designs.
In 2023, due to his passion for community engagement, Martell became the recipient of the prestigious Jeremy Burnside Community Spirit Award.
Currently Martell is Co-director of The Trillium Project, an organization dedicated to street art on a large scale with a project called Second Glance and other community art projects. He is also on the Board of Directors for Southern Ohio Folklife.
