Have you ever been jealous of an animal? The author of Psalms 84 almost seems jealous of the sparrows and how they are cared for by God! Ultimately the psalmist uses this as a metaphor for those who “dwell” in the house of God. May we always find refuge in God by staying mentally and emotionally in God’s presence, and finding our strength in him.
In this summer series we are learning that the Psalms are incredibly poetic and rich in emotion. Not all of us easily identify with the depth of emotion expressed in the Psalms, but there is a Journey that God is taking us all on and we can see this in the Psalms. Together we can learn that in every season there is purpose and we can find hope for the journey through our faith.
