Your Motivation Has To Come From Within And From Christ

Haters can get you moving, but they can’t keep you whole. We’re digging into a hard truth that hits everyday life: outside motivation is temporary, and it eventually leaves you tired, reactive, and stuck in prove-it mode. A stronger source exists, and it starts when you let God’s love become the reason you show up, stay consistent, and keep going.

We open with the heart of the message from Ephesians 3:19, then get practical about mindset and behavior shifts. We talk identity in Christ through Psalms 139:14, why you don’t have to prove anything to anybody, and how “high octane” inside motivation grows when you build your faith and pray in the power of the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20). We also confront the urge to force outcomes, leaning on Matthew 6:33 and John 6:63 to remind us that human effort alone can’t produce the life God is calling us into.

Then we go deeper with 2 Corinthians 3:16-17: turning to the Lord removes the veil, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. We name what that veil looks like in real life: confusion, distraction, divided loyalty, and instability (James 1:6-8). We close with a readiness check from Matthew 24 and a clear invitation to begin a real relationship with God, plus a Father’s Day blessing.

Thank you for joining me this week on Solid As They Come Podcast, where we journey into the presence of God, break strongholds, and discover and experience the love of Yahweh. Ephesians 3.19 in the New Living Translation says, May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to fully understand. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. The goal is not to be perfect, but to trust in, to believe in the perfect love of Jesus, the realest love you will ever experience. Spirit of the living God fall afresh on us.

Outside Motivation Versus Inside Drive

Let's put in some work. You have to think different. You have to be different. You have to see different. If things are not working in your life, continuing to do the same thing will continue to get you the same results. Sometimes you got to be different. Lean in. When you gonna stop letting your haters be your motivation to be something, to achieve something. Come on, somebody, say it again, PD. When you're gonna let your haters stop being your motivation to be something, to achieve something, to get to greater. You got to move different. You got to switch it up sometimes. I don't know who I'm preaching to this morning, but God sent me by this morning to tell somebody stop letting an outside source be your motivation to make it in life. Oh my God, preach PD, I am preaching. God says, stop letting an outside source be your motivation to be something in life, to achieve something in life, to get closer to him. An outside source only brings you temporary motivation, real talk with a real purpose for real people. How many have been trying to get on top? How many have been trying to change? How many have been trying to get their circumstances elevated, get their scenery to change? Can I drop something heavy in your spirit? What's your motivation? If it's an outside motivation, I'm here to tell you it's gonna be temporary. That outside source of motivation, like haters and wanting to prove people wrong, is low octane. If you want that high octane source of motivation where you just can't give up until you make it, where you just can't give up until you succeed. Your motivation has to be on the inside. Oh my god, preach PD, I am preaching. That motivation has to be on the inside. My motivation is in me. Watch this, because I know who I am. Oh my god, do you know who you are? I know who I am, and that's that inside motivation. And watch this. I know I don't have to prove nothing to nobody. Oh my god, I just helped somebody get free. I know I don't have to prove anything to anybody. I ain't gotta prove nothing to you. I know who I am, and with that inside motivation, it gives me the strength from day to day to do what God has called me to

Identity In Christ Builds Confidence

do. Oh my god, y'all, let's put some Bible on it. Y'all know how it is around the CIA headquarters. Let's put some Bible on it. Psalms 139 14 in the NLT, and I hear a psalmist say, Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. Oh my god, your workmanship is marvelous, how well I know it. Oh my god, did you hear what the word of God just said? Did you hear what the psalmist says? He says, Your workmanship is marvelous, and how well I know it. He's bragging on God, but he's talking about himself, how God made him. He don't need no outside motivation to get him started because everything is on the inside. God put everything he needed on the inside. All the motivation he needed to be great, God put it on the inside. All the motivation he needs not to give up, God put it on the inside. All the motivation he needs to be who God called him to be, to be who God called her to be, is on the inside. I don't know who I'm preaching to, but check your motivation source. If it's not working, man, forget trying to prove something to somebody, do it for you. Do it because you love you, do it because you love God. That's that high octane in the inside. Motivation.

Pray In Power With Pure Motives

Man, I got the Jude 120 all on me. If you got the word, if you got your Bible, hey, remember, I'm working with the Holy Spirit and a Bible. If you got your Bible on you, I got that Jude 120 all on me. Jude 120 in the New Living Translation says this, but you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith. Oh my god, did you hear what the word of God just said? It said, Dear friends, build each other up. Come on, somebody, in your most holy faith, pray in power. Oh my god, it said, pray in power of the Holy Spirit and wait. The mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ will bring you eternal life. You will keep yourself safe in God's love as long as you are under the umbrella of God's love. I'm here to tell you that's some high-octane motivation, that's that inside motivation where you just don't want to give up. Go back to the text real quick with me. Come on, somebody, where it says, build each other up in your most holy faith, and then it says, pray in power. What that means, PD, let me drop something heavy in your spirit. This is how you pray in power, you pray in power out of a sincere heart, you pray in power out of no hidden motive, you pray in power to God from a heart that's genuinely looking for an answer from Him, a heart that has no compromise, a heart that recognizes who God is, what God can do, and watch this go to big one. How much God loves you the heart of a person that knows how much God loves them is running spiritual thing that will get the job done real joke with a real purpose for real people. I'm working with the Holy Spirit and the Word of God with somebody, don't force it to happen.

Stop Forcing It And Seek God

Give it to God the word of God Matthew 633 in the NLT says this seek the kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Here it is. Either you believe it or you don't. Either you gonna receive it or you ain't. Either you just gonna read it as a book or you gonna believe it as life. I don't know who I'm preaching to this morning, but I hear it in my spirit. When you gonna recognize that God is calling you, when are you gonna understand that God has a purpose for you? And I'm gonna say this once again don't force it to happen. Because what you're trying to force to happen is not God's will for you. That's why it's not working. But give your life to God when you're gonna recognize that God has something better for you, when you're gonna recognize that the love of God is trying to grab you and shelter you and comfort you and lead you the right way. Come on, somebody. John 6, 63 in the NLT. Let's put some Bible on it. It says this the spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. Stop trying to do it your way, stop trying to force it to happen. And then it says, And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. I'm gonna say it once again. Either you're gonna believe it or you're not, either you're gonna receive it or you're not. Praise God. I just come by like I do every Sunday morning at 10 o'clock to preach the love of God, to teach the word of God, to let somebody know that God loves them. Remember, at some point in life, you have to move different, you have to think different, you have to be different, you have to see different, you have to switch it up. If you're not on the Lord's side, I could be preaching to you because I got a sneaky suspicion that God is looking for somebody specific, and it could be you. And can I help somebody out this morning? The question is not, is God with you? The question is, are you with God? God is not joining your team, he's not joining your life. God is the foundation, and if you want Him, you must come and stand on His side, come to His kingdom and be a part of His family. So if you're waiting on God, I'm gonna go ahead and help you out. Are You With God Or Not

are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Did you hear it? Did you hear what the word of God said? Jesus said, Come to me, all of you. It's up to you, it's up to us to accept the invitation from God. Because you got a God-given right to heal, you got a God-given right to change, you got a God-given right to enjoy life, you got a God-given right to raise your kids, see them go to college, be something in life, not a corner's paddy wagon coming to pick them up from the streets because their body has been riddled with bullets. You got a God-given right to see your family grow. You got a God-given right to love your wife, to love your husband. You got a God-given right to have life the way you want it. You got a God-given right to serve God, you got a God-given right to be everything that God has called you to be. You got a God-given right to fulfill your purpose here on this earth. And then you got a God-given right to go to heaven and be with the Lord for the rest of your life. You have a God-given right to accomplish. Your God-given right has to be on the inside. And watch this. You have to be working with the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Oh my God, preach PD, I am preaching. Let's go a little bit deeper. Turn to 2 Corinthians chapter 3, verses 16 in the NLT. And in the word of God, it says this. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Oh my God. Let's break this down. Quick recap. Because we've been talking about outside motivation versus inside motivation, being what God called us to be, living the life God has for us. And then we just seen in 2 Corinthians 3 16 it says, but whenever someone turns to the Lord, that's escaping from outside motivation to discovering inside motivation. So let's break this down. Whenever someone turns to something, that means that you turn from something. So when you turn to God, you turn from the hate, you turn from the self-made person, you turn from low self-esteem. You turn from the things that try to destroy you. And you turn to your inside motivation that tells you that you are a champion. When you turn to the Lord, that tells you you can be it. You can achieve it. That tells you that the motivation on the inside will get you to the finish line. You turn to the Lord. Okay, let's spend a block. Let me drop something heavy in your spirit. When you turn to the Lord, that means what? You have a God-given right to enjoy life. You have a God-given right to change. You have a God-given right to change your mind. The word of God says, when you turn to the Lord, the veil is taken away. The veil, let's talk about the veil. The veil represents the confusion in your life. The veil represents the away in your life. The veil represents the obstruction in your life. It represents distraction in your life. And when you turn to God, that is taken away. When you turn to the Lord, that is no longer relevant. Verse 17 says, For the Lord is the Spirit. And where the Spirit of the Lord

Turning To The Lord Removes The Veil

is, there is freedom. And that's the spirit that's going to give you the strength to turn. 2 Corinthians 3 16. But whosoever turns to the Lord, you can't turn to the Lord until you have made up your mind that you're ready to turn from your old life. Turn from your old ways. Probably turn from some old friends. Turn from some old habits. Turn from some old addictions to receive the spirit that brings freedom. You have to have a made-up mind that you're rolling with God and God alone. Turn to James chapter 8, verse 6 in the NLT, and it says this. For a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Verse 7. Such a person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Verse 8. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world. They are unstable in everything they do. Outside motivation brings an unstable drive to get things done, to accomplish, to achieve your purpose. Outside motivation is unstable. When it's on the inside, that's when you have a made-up mind. Key point if you haven't heard anything that I said this morning, get this. You have to make up your mind that you're ready to turn from how you see it, how you think it should be done, how you want it. And you have to make up your mind that you're ready to turn to God's way, that you're ready to turn to God's purpose for you, that you are ready to turn to God's love. Wherever the spirit of the Lord is, he brings inside results. The deep kind. That's why wherever the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Free to let the Lord provide for you, Jehovah Jirah. You're free to let the Lord heal you, Jehovah Rapha. You're free to let the Lord bring peace to you, Jehovah Salaam. Real peace from the Spirit of the Lord will turn you from irritation, turn you from disturbance, turn you from conflict, and turn you to Jesus. Whoever turns to the Lord. Oh my God. Holy Spirit, unlock the greatness, unlock the unlimited potential in those under the sound of my voice today. I got a question for you before I get up out of here

Stay Ready And Pray With Faith

today. When it shows up, you gonna be ready? I'm talking to whoever has been praying, trusting, believing God for something. Are you gonna be ready when it shows up? Are you gonna be ready to turn from and turn to? If you still got the word of God out, turn with me to Matthew chapter 24, verses 42 through 44 in the NLT, and it says this so you too must keep watch, for you don't know what day your Lord is coming. Understand this. If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time. Come on, somebody, did you hear what the word of God just said? You also must be ready all the time for the Son of Man will come when you least expect it. Remember my question? Will you be ready when God is ready to give it to you? How many people have missed healing because they wasn't ready? How many people have missed deliverance because they wasn't ready? How many people have missed purpose because they wasn't ready? How many people have missed a changed life because they wasn't ready? If you have the faith, God has the power to manifest your faith into substance. Be ready as we greater wrap this up. Pray with me. From a made-up mind and a sincere heart, Lord, I petition heaven to move on the behalf of your people. Search us, O God. Spirit of the living God, let your presence fall on the brokenhearted, on those with a confused mind and a crushed spirit, that's crying out for freedom, the person that's addicted and that lives for the drug of their choice. Father God, we lift up the way maker you sent to us, Jesus the Christ. I pray that we as your people will live by no nonsense faith that will not be shaken by the weakness of lukewarm preaching and teaching of you. We as Christians are to be led by the Spirit of God, not by what's hot, not by what's trending, and not by what the world is doing. I cry out that all soldiers of the kingdom of God will keep the faith and be a witness of the greatest love this world can ever know. I pray that God given purpose would be the motivation of your people. Lord, I pray that all will get to know you and not just about you. People of God, hear me. When your identity is attached to Jesus, you don't have to prove anything to anybody but God the Father Elohim. Lord, use me and give me a word that will restore, build up, establish, and keep giving life to the dead places of a person's life. Thank you, Father, for your love. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Speak It Out Loud I Found Another Way

Do this for me. Somebody tell yourself, I found another way. My haters are not my motivation. I don't need to prove anything to anybody but God, and I found another way. I found another way to motivate myself that's gonna keep me motivated until the Lord calls me home. Somebody speak it into your life. I found another way. I found another way to handle business. I found another way to think about things. I found another way. Watch this to give and receive. I found another way to let my spirit be influenced. I found another way to live life. 2 Corinthians 3.16 NLT. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. The veil is removed from the life of a person that turns to the Lord. The Lord will give you purpose. The Lord will give you motivation. The Lord will give you strength and consistency to live an abundant life for him. The Lord will give you what you need to take care of your family. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, that's what I'm asking today. Will you turn to him? Will you give your life to him? If you haven't turned to him already, if the veil hasn't been taken away already, I'm asking you to turn to Jesus. Because what happens when you really become to God? Oh my God. What happens when you really become to God? There is a shift on the inside that can be seen on the outside. When you really give your life to Christ. I was about to shut it down, but y'all know I can't leave you like that. Let's put some Bible on it. Because I don't know what you heard, but it's not a real complicated process to come to God. The most complicated part of it is a person making their mind up. That they are ready to follow God, they are ready to yield to his spirit, they are willing to be led by the Spirit of God, and they are willing to have the Bible be the word of God in their life.

How To Begin A Real Relationship

Turn with me to Romans chapter 10, start at the 8 verse. This is how you come to God. In fact, it is. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. There it is. That's how you begin a real relationship with God. Asking to forgive you for your sins. And then inviting into your heart. And in Romans 10, it says that you are made right with God when you do that. Now the rest is up to you. Because remember, what you really believe in, you invest in. What you really believe in, you sow into. So now it's up to you. I don't know who I'm preaching to this morning, but it's time to go to another level. Stop letting your haters be your motivation. Stop letting want to prove somebody wrong be your motivation. That type of motivation produces selfishness, a selfish spirit. But those who turn from that type of motivation and turn to the Lord get a motivation on the inside that's motivated. Watch this. By the love of God. And in my opinion, is the greatest motivation a person can have.
