Hello and welcome back everyone . I hope you had a great new year and you are sticking to your goals . So today we're going to be reading from Matthew , chapter 25 and we are on Matthew chapter 25 , verse 31 , for anyone that wants to follow and I'm reading from the new international version this is the parable of the sheep and the goats , and Jesus said this parable and he's speaking about two different groups of people , with sheep and goats Comparing us to them , how the shepherd separates them , how he will do that on the last day . So there's , I mean , it's really cool . I will read it and then you guys can get your own interpretation and think about it yourselves , because I had some questions that I looked up afterwards . So , but I also saw a thing where it was like , okay , you could think about it one way or think about it another way . So I Mean , I'm gonna leave that up to you guys because , yeah , it's interesting . Okay , well , let's get right into it .
Speaker 1Matthew , chapter 25 , verse 31 when the Son of man comes in his glory , and all the angels with him , he will sit on the throne in heavenly glory , all the nations will be gathered before him and he will separate the people one from another . As a shepherd separates his sheep From the goats , he will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left . Then the king will say to those on his right come , you , who are blessed by my father , take your inheritance . The kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world . For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat . I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink . I was a stranger and you invited me in . I Need clothes and you clothed me . I Was in prison and you came to visit me . Then the righteous will answer him Lord , when did we see you hungry and feed you , or thirsty and give you something to drink ? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in , or needing clothes and cloth you ? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you ? The king will reply . I tell you the truth . Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine , you did for me . Then he will say to those on the left depart from me , you who are cursed into it , into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels . For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat . I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink . I was a stranger and you did not invite me in . I Needed clothes and you did not clothe me . I Was sick and in prison and you did not look after me . They also will answer Lord when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison and Did not help you ? He will reply . I tell you the truth . Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these , you did not do for me , then it will go away to eternal punishment , but the righteous to eternal life .
Speaker 1I will tell you the interpretation that I looked up . Well , not the interpretation , but when it when he was talking about the least of these , the people that on the right they helped and the people on the left they did not help . So in my mind I pictured like a homeless person , you know , or someone who was needy . You know they , they were hungry and you know all that stuff . But I looked it up online like what does Matthew chapter 25 ? The least of these ? Who are they talking about ?
Speaker 1And I guess I'll just read you a little bit . The reference is to the righteous helping fellow disciples , so people that were like trying to follow Jesus and they like gave up their life , basically Like people around would be like I see this guy , he just gave up his life to go follow Jesus , you know , and he's being a disciple , so I could feed him and then he will continue his journey , you know . And when I read that I was like , okay , that makes a lot of sense . And I found that on got questions dot org . If you guys want to look it up and read more about it , it's pretty good . So we got . That's all I have for you guys today . I hope you enjoyed it . Thanks for listening . I appreciate it . Have a great week and God bless .
