Flower Essence Therapy has been gaining popularity as an emotional therapy. Dr. Bach, the forefather of flower essence therapy, was a leading edge activist for flower therapy as emotional therapy. On our Ireland retreat in 2019, I was inspired by my friend and flower essence colleague who shared the history and teachings of Dr. Bach. One quote, in particular, resonated with me: "Our emotional response determines how we heal."

This idea is beautifully woven into Tantric philosophy, which emphasizes the intricate connection between mind and body. Our personality, which is shaped by our thoughts and feelings, can be revealed by how we speak and act. Negative emotions inevitably hinder our body's ability to heal itself. That's where flower essences come in to support us with potent alchemy.

Flower essences can help to transmute negative emotions into positive ones. When we work with the flowers, we bring in waves of positive emotions to negate the negative acute or stored emotions to heal the body. They literally flood the body with positive energy (called virtues by Dr. Bach) that align with our vital essence and connect to and get strength from the light of the soul.

Interestingly, the Cherokee believed that for every illness, there is a plant to cure. This is a belief that has been echoed in the field of Flower Essence Therapy, where each flower is believed to specifically meet and transmute a particular emotion and/or mental state. It's amazing to see the similarities in ancient wisdom across different cultures and how they still hold relevance today.

Thank you for reading and may you find peace and healing through the power of flowers. Please see the transcript if you would like to skip forward into the 12 Flower Remedies for Emotions

[INTRO]
Host: Hello! It's Brooke, and today it's just going to be me talking to you. I wanted to give you a little introduction of who I am and also one of my passions, which are flower essences. I'll start with a little background on my own journey with flower essences, why I'm bringing this to you, and then offer specific flowers that can help support you with different emotions.

[PARAGRAPH 1]
Host: My name is Brooke, and I attended a school called the Wild Temple, both online and in Asheville, North Carolina. I've always been fascinated by the mysterious and the mystical. As a child, I would often play in a dreamy other world, a realm known as the bitwixe or the threshold. This realm allows us to tap into places beyond our modern life, like the shadow realms or the deep. This other world awareness helps us make sense of the world and find our place in it, especially during hard or confusing times.

[PARAGRAPH 2]
Host: Peter Pan taught us the importance of these other worlds and our connection to them. They are the realms of myth, magic, imagination, creativity, insight, and healing. These realms tap into eternal truth or what yogis call sacred law or dharma. They also empower us on a personal level. When I discovered flower essences, I was just beginning my path as a healer and teacher. I was 26, a new mom, and recovering from a decade of tumultuous years as a runaway and survivor. These experiences had caused wounds that buried themselves deep within my subconscious.

[PARAGRAPH 3]
Host: I tried various methods to excavate these wounds, but they seemed unreachable. I pushed them down through exercise, journaling, and even food. However, many of us carry unreachable or hidden mental and emotional baggage. When my daughter turned two, a friend gave me a set of Bach flower essences. At first, I didn't believe they would work, but eventually, I cracked open the kit out of curiosity. I was intrigued by the power of emotions and felt determined to heal myself.

[PARAGRAPH 4]
Host: Flower essences and yoga, specifically Tantra, became transformative tools for me. Flower essences are energetic remedies that heal by moving energy and clearing old patterns. Each flower has a unique property and pattern that addresses specific mindsets, emotions, and habits. They replace negative baggage with positive mind states and wisdom aligned with nature and our soul. The flowers helped me align with my dharma and supported my personal evolution.

[PARAGRAPH 5]
Host: While I started with Rescue Remedy and other common flower essences, the flowers provided clarity on understanding power. Combined with yoga and Tantra, they taught me to categorize subtle emotional realms and reveal limitations and blocks. They guided me to act differently and unwind unhelpful habit patterns. As a result, my inner world cleared up, became more supportive, and lifted heavy emotions. Flower essences have been invaluable in my personal and spiritual life and have worked miracles with clients and students.

[PARAGRAPH 6]
Host: Before discussing specific flowers for emotions, I wanted to mention my flower essence course called "Plant Strop Wisdom." It's an eight-week training and certification in flower essence therapy. The course covers the history, origins, and methods of prescribing flower essences, along with plant studies and case studies. You'll learn about over 100 flowers and build a strong Materia Medica. The course includes a beautiful kit and a comprehensive manual.
