Mrs. Jamilah A. Hud-Kirk is currently serving her 15th year as an elementary school principal at Fountain Elementary in Forest Park, Georgia. As an accomplished teacher, principal, speaker, and now author, she also has over 25 years of experience in urban and rural education as a teacher, School Improvement Specialist, Assistant Principal, and Principal at the elementary, middle, and district levels, in Alabama, Texas, and Georgia. She has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education (Tuskegee University), a Master's degree in Special Education (Auburn University), and Educational Leadership (the University of Texas at Austin). She is a speaker and founder of PCK Consulting, LLC.
Mrs. Hud-Kirk considers her greatest accomplishment to be a wife of 20 years and mother to 4 boys and 1 girl ranging from 26 to 3 years of age. Being one of the most challenging and rewarding accomplishments yet, she has recently added one more “why” to her plate, empowering other female leaders to work on the work while creating balance in their own lives. Realizing that there is much to learn from her own experiences and those of other dynamic female leaders, she has recently created a blog and other social media platforms that are reflective of those golden nuggets. It is the desire and hopes that other leaders who share similar experiences of work/life balance will have a safe, honest platform in which to learn from and express their own personal journeys on how they manage to find harmony (or not) between their professional and personal lives.
