Best-selling author Tony Robbins wrote about hunger in his latest newsletter on LinkedIn, and he included his own childhood experience with food insecurity. He also shared a decision he made long ago to take action to help solve this worldwide problem. His post is a powerful piece of writing that ended up inspiring a meditation with a message, which I talk about in this episode.

You can follow this link to Robbins' newsletter to learn the outcome of his decision and much more. I recommend it highly.

Hello, and welcome to a short episode of The Gale Hill Radio Hour.

I’m Kate Jones here to talk about personal power, a topic inspired by Tony Robbins’ December 4th newsletter posted on LinkedIn. It was about people who don’t have enough to eat.

Robbins, a #1 New York Times best-selling author, life and business strategist, philanthropist and entrepreneur, began his post with a story about food insecurity from his own childhood experience.

I have a link to the piece in the show’s description. I recommend it highly.

Here’s a small part of it that’s pertinent to this episode: Describing the immense scope of the hunger problem, Robbins says that if all of the world’s chronically hungry people had their own country, that nation would be the third most populous in the world

That’s an astounding number of fellow humans who don’t get enough to eat. But what can any one of us do to make a dent in such a huge problem?

Well, Robbins made a decision long ago to do something about hunger, and he has. He’s one person who joined with many others to help hungry people.

I really liked his post, and I shared it on a couple of my platforms. And that’s all I planned to do with it.

However, the very next morning, I woke up in the wee hours. It was a perfect time, when all was quiet, to breathe deeply and meditate for a minute or so before falling back to sleep.

Brief as it was, that meditation made quite an impact on me, and I realized even as it was happening that it directly related to Robbins’ post.

Here’s how the meditation went: In my mind’s eye, I saw myself split open into a V shape from head to navel. An immense amount of light filled that opening and, a few seconds later, power surges swirled through the light.

The best I can describe this combination of light and power is to call it volcanic, in a good way.

It was awesome power, and so validating. I’ve long believed that we all have a force within us. Now I know that’s true, because I’ve actually felt it.

So the question is, what do we do with this power? This brings us back to hunger, one of the many problems we have in the world. I really think that if each of us applied our incredible power to what we care about, and if we join with others, we can solve all the problems in the world, including hunger.

How great is that?

This is Kate Jones. Thank you for listening, and please share this episode with anyone who wants to be a force for good in the world.
