Let's get into today's episode. Welcome back to the Mompreneur Mindset podcast. So in today's episode, we're going to talk about a topic that I've been thinking a lot about, honestly, and it's something that I think we can all relate to. So before I tell you what that topic is, I want to ask you a couple of questions. Have you ever found yourself continuously asking why things are happening to you? Have you ever felt like giving up on your dreams because you can't seem to catch a break? Have you ever felt lost or unsure of the next steps on your journey? If you're nodding your head right now know that you're not alone. The journey of starting and running a business while also balancing motherhood can be a very difficult one. And sometimes we can't understand why things are happening to us in the moment. And we may feel like we're failing. But here are a few things that I realized recently. The first thing is I, life is really like a book. Every chapter represents its own challenges and obstacles. And while some chapters may be filled with joy and success. Others can be hard and leave us feeling defeated. There are moments where you may feel like when is this chapter going to be over already? But in all reality, these difficult chapters are needed to develop the character, the strengths, the skills that will ultimately lead us towards our goals. And that takes me to the second thing that I realized recently, and that is that sometimes we have to really embrace the journey and have faith in ourselves that our dreams for our life and our business will come true. And so that's what we're going to talk about in today's episode is to have faith in yourself and your journey in your life and business. So let's go ahead and get started. So the first thing you can do to have faith in yourself in your journey is to believe in your purpose. And so we all have a calling on our lives and that's the thing that we feel we were sent down to this earth to accomplish in this lifetime. And this is what I refer to as your purpose. And one of the reasons why you may have started your business in the first place is to fulfill this purpose. So let your purpose be your north star and guide you in your journey. And when you believe in your purpose, it can inspire and motivate you to keep going. Even when things get tough. So another thing you can do to have faith in yourself is to recognize your strengths. So first take some time to think about your accomplishments and the skills that you possess. And this could be things like maybe you have a bachelor's degree in business. Or maybe you're a master of Microsoft office products. For example, of course. So grab a notebook or a piece of paper or your phone, basically, anything that you have easy access to that you can write down what comes up. Make a list of your strengths and use it as a reminder that you are a boss, mom. And you can do anything you put your mind to, whenever you doubt yourself. So that takes me to my next tip. Which is to embrace your imperfections now. That's easier said than done. And especially coming from someone like myself, who is a perfectionist, but one thing that I try to tell myself all the time is that no one is perfect. So instead of dwelling on your shortcomings, Focus on improving yourself and your skills. And remember. Progress is better than perfection. So now my next tip is to surround yourself with positivity. Something that I'm not sure if most people realize is that your environment plays a significant role in how you feel about yourself and how you feel about your journey. So, have you ever been around someone and you're talking to them and you're telling them all the things about your life, and you mentioned all the things you're working on on your business, and you're just so excited and you're happy and you're like, you just see the smile on your face. And then they instantly comment with something negative or they compare what you're doing to something that someone else is doing that they know. And you instantly feel. a negative emotion. Being around positive people who believe in you just as much as you believe in yourself will help you in negative. Nancy's come around trying to rain on your parade. I remember that you have your own path and your own timing and you are right where you need to be. So that takes me to my next tip. Which is. Take small steps. I know you may have these big, scary goals that you're working to accomplish. And sometimes our vision is so big and our goals are so big. That we become so fearful that we can not take any action at all. But when you have faith in yourself and your vision and your goals, you learn to take action by taking small steps. And so it was funny because I was watching Elmo and grouchy. Actually with my son now the day. And it's interesting because that movie came out when I was about 10 years old or so. And I've seen it a few times with like my siblings. And for the first time, I actually listened to the words of the songs from the perspective of an adult. And it has some really motivational material in that movie. Okay. And one of the songs is called take the first step. And this really stuck out to me. And I'm going to sing a little bit of the lyrics. Apologies. If you know my voice, isn't up to par. You know, I did say in chorus though, when I was in high school, so hopefully that helps a little bit. Okay. Elmo get your chin up. Things could be worse. You could have your feet stuck down in the earth, but. I don't see no roots growing from your toes, just to furry little feet and their revenue, revenue, revenue. Take the first step. And soon you will see just how brave you. heart can be look on up. To the sky and take that first step. And kiss your fears. Goodbye. It's such a catchy song. Oh my gosh. I love that song. I love that whole movie in general, honestly. But the lesson that I got from it is really just to take the first step. And they will help to build momentum and give you the confidence you need to keep moving forward in your journey. And then that leads me to my last tip. Which is why you're taking small steps. Celebrate your wins. So it's important that we celebrate our wins no matter how small they may seem. And when you celebrate your wins, you see your progress in real time. So in those moments, when you feel like you haven't progressed on your goals, as fast as you like. You get to see how far you've actually come and it can motivate you to keep going. All right. So now that we've gone through the tips. I'm going to put on my teacher hat. Just for a couple of minutes. And we're going to go through. 10 minutes or less actions, steps that you can take from this episode. So, what I want you to do is to look at the five tips you got today and choose one or two that you can take action on. Right now, either today, tomorrow, sometime this week. Choose the one that you resonate the most with, or the one that you feel you need to work on the most. So. Acknowledge your strengths. Remember that. Notebook or a piece of paper. I asked you to make a list of your accomplishments and your strengths. I want you to grab that. And now we're going to take that list and we're going to turn those skills and those accomplishments into affirmations. So for example, Maybe one of the strengths you listed is that you're really good at managing your time. So an affirmation you can write is I am great and managing my time and I use it wisely to create a life that I love. And you can say these affirmations daily, or you can have them with you for when you begin to doubt yourself in your journey. And you can say these affirmations daily or can have them for when you begin to doubt yourself and your journey. So now for embrace your imperfections, Your task. If you want to embrace your imperfections more is to make a list of five to 10 areas. Where you feel you need the most improvement. And list those areas and then rate them on a scale of one to 10. One being the lowest and 10 being the highest regarding how comfortable you are with that imperfection. And this will help you identify areas that you need to focus more attention on. And after the, this list is created, you can write out an action plan for how you can work on each area and make strides towards embracing those imperfections. Now for surrounding yourself with positivity. If you want to work on that more, your task is to make another list. Of three to five people. Who you absolutely love talking to. Maybe they make you feel good about yourself? Or they just always have something positive to say, when you talk to them, Make a note to speak with them, even in those moments when you don't need a boost of positivity. And let them be your people that you surround yourself with the most. Right for the taking the smaller steps. Your task. If that's your goal is to go and watch Elmo and grassland. No, I'm kidding. Your task is to look at how you can break down your goals into even smaller steps. If you look at your goals and the tasks that you have for them, and something just feels very uncomfortable in your body. Look at ways that you can break them down even more and try to take actions on them every single day. And last but not least celebrating your wins. If that's your task, you want to work on celebrating your wins more. Again, with the list, make a list of things that you've been wanting to do. Like maybe you want to go to a new restaurant or you want to try a new brunch location, or maybe you want to go see a movie that just came out. Right. Right. Those things that you absolutely want to do down. And you can also write down the things that you love. Like maybe you have a favorite chips or a favorite candy or a favorite no chocolate bar. And once you have your list, think about. After you've taken the small steps, how you can reward yourself. Maybe you finally wrote that blog post that you've been procrastinating on. Once it's done, you can go to the store and you can buy your favorite chocolate bar as a reward. And remember the way you celebrate your wins. It does not have to be a big extravagant thing. I'm going to say this again. It does not have to be this big extravagant thing. And that's only if you want it to be right. If you want it to be extravagant, then make it extravagant. But it can be the smallest thing. Like you take your children to go get ice cream because you got your tasks done. So the kids get rewarded and you get rewarded at the same time. All right. My loves. That is all I have for you today. I hope that this episode was insightful.
