“Advent” is typically a four-week season in the Church calendar dedicated to the “advent, or “arrival,” of Jesus of Nazareth—the long away Messiah and King. Christians from all backgrounds around the world and throughout time, celebrate this time with reflections of the love, joy, peace, and hope that comes with the Nativity story.
In the Christian faith, when we “arrive” in December, we “arrive” to a season of remembering and celebrating the arrival of Jesus Christ on earth. The arrival of the Son of God in the manger is the arrival of “Light” into “Darkness”.
In this sermon, Pastor Jeremiah unpacks the imagery of light that the Apostle John uses in his Gospel.
