SPEAKER_00It will be good mail. It won't be Pony Express. No, this is true. Well, it's been an odd couple of weeks. And every time we talk, we're pointing out something that's going on odd. Odd. People seem to be vaguely on edge. Vaguely. Yeah, and if you look at watch the news, they're a little more than vaguely. Yes. No no one we've spoken to has really been able to define it. No. But we might have a few astrological reasons, and I believe, Linda, you have a bit of astrology for us. Yes, I do.
SPEAKER_01All right. It'll be great. The the world of astrological excuses. Why is it the way it is? Well because just because.
SPEAKER_00Just because.
SPEAKER_01Not explaining uh this particular moment that this is an ongoing trend all the summer into the fall. People's teeth are going to be curling with uh rage and this sort of thing. But we we will have a galvanizing blow coming in uh July. And this is Mercury retrograde, which is an astrologer genius friend of ours used to call it Mercury Wretched Grade. And it will be especially wretched this summer. It is retrograde between the dates are between the 18th of July and the 11th of August, but st you'll start feeling it around the 10th of July. It'll go at least until the 15th, 16th of August. Okay. And it is in Leo. So it will be dealing with who is King of the Hill. Ah. King of the Hill falling down. Now, this is not just in the world at large. This is in our own little worlds. There will be uh we'll all have weird information come to us on topics that maybe some of them we didn't even know we were interested in.
SPEAKER_00And we might not be interested in.
SPEAKER_01No, we we may not want to be interested in them, but they'll be, oh, that's what made this person do that during this. So there'll be all these things popping up. We'll find that people we hadn't gotten along with will uh be at least in one on one issue or in one area, be on our side. We we will be agreeing. It's the world of s of strange bedfellows where you find that people who used to be problems, at least on one issue, you're you're you're together, and this is uh a good thing. Uh it is going to be a time where a lot of things are just going to pop out. And so we'll be looking at the one's own country. Even no matter where you are in the world, there will be things popping out that we didn't know that other people wanted to keep secret. But they'll and be it one at least one issue that where this will pop out. The uh the the other part of it, in insofar as dealing with oneself, is all sorts of second thoughts. Oh, why did I say that? Why did I do that? Cool, chill, settle down, don't kick in yourself afterward. Kicking yourself afterward. Do not torture yourself. You did it, you said it, whatever it is, move. Let it go. But there will be people from the past wandering by your window, looking in and waving. Looking in and waving. It it may be uh a memory that you just can't shake.
SPEAKER_00It's not necessarily Well, that's that vagueness we've been talking about.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. And that and that weird edginess of I have to be on uh prepared, uh. But I don't know what I have to be prepared for. We don't know. And if if somebody does show up from the past, do not be polite and simply invite them in. Okay. Hang back and vet them first. Vet them first. And another thing, and this is this whole summer, basically the whole year, but this Mercury retrograde is going to make it more pertinent, is don't flip out or get excited about an idea or a subject or a situation until you have all the facts. Or at least more of the facts than you have when you get outraged. Okay. Do not run out and become all upset and then realize, oh, I don't really think that. Take a step back. Exactly. Get a sense of perspective, as you say, take a step back. You don't have to just run out. Get information. It will it will keep it calmer, it'll make the whole atmosphere of everything calmer. And remember that we we don't have to get outraged along with everybody else in order to get something done. Okay. That is a very good thing. And that that is the astrological thing. Good. That I have.
SPEAKER_00That you have, such as it is.
SPEAKER_01That I have at this point in time.
SPEAKER_00Well, this month I don't really have a lot to contribute to why all of this astrologically is going on. But I wanted to tell a couple of stories about a riverboat cruise that the producer and I recently returned from.
SPEAKER_01You go on trips, you've got travel stories.
SPEAKER_00We go we go on trips and we went with uh some of our best friends and we went on a riverboat cruise uh back, I'll just say it was uh the Columbian Snake Rivers. So anyway. So that in if you're looking at a map of America, it would be the rivers that are between the states of Washington and Oregon. So on the West Coast. On the West Coast, up north by the West Coast. Okay. So the first area I want to relay is about one of the people on board being too full of himself. Uh a man that we sat with at lunch one day, we were already seated, and he said, Oh, there's free there's free space, I'm gonna sit down next to you. That was his first mistake. That was his first mistake. Uh he was going, he was really, really, really going on about himself. He was telling all of us at the table, it was a table of eight, uh-huh, that he was a doctor of divinity. But this was the entertainment crew. Let me tell you. He was entertainment crew. He was, yeah. Apparently he had the piece of paper signed by God Himself, herself, itself, and everything. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He went on about how having this doctorate was more difficult, and I'm not kidding, he was with this this type of voice too, more difficult to get than any medical student ever went through to become a doctor, wasn't he? He was going on. Who knew? He was so impressed with himself, but none of nobody else at the table. And I did notice that he never sat with the same people twice. He couldn't. They wouldn't left. After he went on and on and on, I finally, I don't normally toot my own horn, but I and I'm not going to share with the podcasters. I said three things about myself that are unusual. Yes. And he backed off, didn't he, Don? He did. He backed off and couldn't get away from the table quick enough. And pretty much the other people at the table were all going.
SPEAKER_01You are our you are our hero.
SPEAKER_00Oh my God. I I the just the the gall of this man to think that what he did was greater than uh, you know, what, 18 years in a, you know, in medical school and all of these things or you know, all these years.
SPEAKER_01And these are the people who are are popping out of the bushes now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they are. And his poor wife was sitting at the table and she was just looking at me, going, Why did I come along on this trip?
SPEAKER_01Why did I marry him? Why do I have readers in their shoes? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So anyway, a couple of days later, same trip, different day. I was speaking with one of the senior officers. When you go on these riverboat cruises, people are very accessible. Uh-huh. We had we had a we had a really fun conversation with the captain where our friend had a had a drink in his hand and and he asked if he could drive the boat, and the captain looked at him and said, not till you finish your drink. So this is the kind of stuff where people are, you know, everybody is having joke with them. They j everybody jokes and everybody. So I was talking with one of the senior officers. In fact, as we were booking another, another trip. I mentioned I was retiring at the end of the year, and she asked me what I did. And we started talking about metaphysical stones. And I was telling her about our podcast and the shop, and she was starting starting to tell me and sharing her knowledge of stones, which really was quite extensive. She was very good. Yeah. And she said, I I didn't bring anything with me this time. But what surprised me wo most was that she said, But I always bring my deck of tarot cards. How neat. And I all I never go on a cruise without them. Now, this is a woman that actually said tarot correctly. Yes, she did, that's rare. Yeah, and and I was just like, wow, that's cool. So at that point in time we were interrupted, but how cool is that that one of the senior officers carries carries tarot cards with her.
SPEAKER_01That's why years ago, my uh mother's mother, my grandmother, said, never should when you're sitting on the bus, never say anything to anyone about another person because you don't know who's sitting behind you. And darned if grandma was.
SPEAKER_00And I've been caught on that one a couple of times. Oh, we are. So we won't even talk about that one. So, anyway, so I'm not sure if any of this ties into what's been going on astrologically astrologically lately. But do you have a couple of final thoughts astrologically?
SPEAKER_01Or Well, as as you point out, uh watch what you say in str in in in context of uh what you know with various people. And don't be too full of yourself. And don't be too full of yourself. Don't don't go just bragging on yourself uproariously because there will probably be someone sitting in your vicinity who will poke holes in your balloon. That's right. And we're in a period now where we're all being confronted with at least one of the illusions we carry, and being told to say, now you have to bring logic and fact into the picture. Ew! Logic and fact everybody is carrying pins to burst your balloon. This this is it. There there's the the old thing about about acting is that acting is a uh you're you set stand with your balloon in a room and it is filled with Hollywood agents with hat pins. There you go. And they're all going to pin you poke poke a sorry poke a hole in your balloon. All at the same time. And so this this is why we we uh we meditate, we do whatever we do that helps us stabilize. So we don't go around getting all upset or have our ego pinched in any way because it's just an ego pinching time. It's like this summer we will walk around and we will be wearing pinchy shoes. There we go, which never make us happy. There you go.
