In our first episode of 2026, Two Dozy Broads discuss some useful stone pairings & a couple of upcoming astrological aspects.
Happy New Year! New Year! Happy New Year! Or at least we hope it is for all of you, our listeners. The Don has agreed to produce us for another year. Gary Yeah, really brave man. Gary has agreed to continue to read the classics. Hugo has agreed to show up once or twice this year, but not today. Today's the beautiful just doesn't care what we do as long as there are treats and and just wonderful epithets for her. She's great with all of that.
SPEAKER_01So exactly. There must be adoration.
SPEAKER_00That's right. If there's no adoration, there are no dog, they're no dog around here. So I am Sandy from Gemological Esoterica.
SPEAKER_01And I am Linda Stro Shane of the Mercury Academy of the Frozen Northland. And we are two Josie Broads. Here we are. Well we would like to start out this podcast with a little bit of uh astrological pain and suffering that we're all going through. And that's my that's my contribution to the state of things. Uh we have many hectic and uh chaotic, shall we say, energies swirling around us and through us and above us and all of that. One of them we have is Neptune is in the process of going into Aries. Now that is official on the 26th of January 2026, and it lasts 14 years. And so you might as well just buckle up buttercup.
SPEAKER_00Really 14 years. You're not joking. I'm not joking. When you said 14, I'm like, 14 years? Okay. 14 years. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01So don't hold your breath. Now, the upside of that is dreams come forward, ideals come forward. The problem comes in is that people aren't exactly sure what they believe in. And so before they open up to new combinations of stuff, they will fight harder for the thing they thought they believed in before they decide that maybe they should leave some of it go. Uh, another problem, well, and also a good thing, is asking yourself, what do I really value? And this is this is a uh uh a cycle that is sort of innovation plus confusion, which is usually how you you end up with the Renaissance, but get getting there breaks breaks a lot of eggs. The other aspect, and and both of these we'll talk about throughout the course of the year because they last a while. A couple of days at least, yeah. Exactly. We have Saturn, excuse me, going into Aries, and that starts in early February, officially on the 13th of February, and that lasts until April of 2028. So don't hold your breath there either.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh, wow, we're we're really getting hit with all this stuff, aren't we?
SPEAKER_01We are, and this one is really a doozy because you've got Saturn, which is the teacher, the discipline disciplinarian, the one who says, no, we've have to follow through and do things in order. Teaching discipline to Aries. And that does not work. That does not work. Well, uh, this is very good for creating a new structure and also learning to be disciplined in the middle of insanity and chaos. That's another good part of it.
SPEAKER_00But isn't Aries a sign that likes to start things but not finish them? Exactly.
SPEAKER_01But Saturn is in there saying, You got to go back and finish it. You got to go back and finish it. So we each will have the little naggie voice on right next to one ear saying, get back, get back and finish. Uh the another good thing is that this will help us to clarify who we are. And that goes with the uh the Neptune in Aries thing of what do I value? And so, in a sense, these work, these work very well together. Uh, it's good for drive, it's good for push, and like you say, not so good for getting things done. And so if you start something, make sure that you keep it going. Make sure that you keep the energy flowing. Now, what happens if you don't? If you don't, then it runs over you and kind of drags you along. Okay. So it we got a couple choices. We can kind of move and move with it. And sometimes it'll kind of push a little and say, you can move faster than this. Whereas if you're just whining and and going, I don't can't do it, then it comes up and it basically does, you know, basically gives you a gob smack in the face and says, You gotta move now. Okay. And so you you don't want to be a whiner. You want to at least be putting at least four percent energy in because you get you get a benefit for that four percent, believe me. Also, with all of the chaos going on everywhere, we are now in a position where we should fight chaos in our own lives. And the best way to do it is to look at your life and say, okay, the the stronger, the more balanced I am, the less chaos there is in the world because I'm not contributing a shared chaos. Okay, everything that you straighten out in your own life is something that makes the world a better ripples out, ripples out. There's there's uh an old magical ritual, which is your your brain is confused, go do the dishes. It's extraordinarily simple. So instead of doing the dishes, maybe you organize your taxes, or you do other things that you know you need to do, you don't really want to, but once they're done, you feel better. There's a load off you. And so it isn't a question of looking outside of the world and saying, outside is where I need to begin. No, you begin with what's in your world right where you are. Okay. Now, another thing with this is we're all trying to deal with elemental energies, and that's like the the Neptune and the Saturn I just mentioned. But we're trying to deal with it in a 21st century AI way. Big mistake. You're dealing with elemental energies, so use elemental tactics, which are you go back to the basics, you clean out the juncture, you wash the car, you do whatever you do that helps to organize you and your home. Now in Minnesota, you do not go and wash the car when it's 20 below zero, like we kind of have now, but you meditate, you do affirmations, chant, whatever it is that you find calming. And you do this continuously, maybe once a day, maybe once every other day. And you also another thing you can do if you if you want to do things outside, is you find a way to be helpful to others. You can help with uh a food shelf, a food bank, or snow shoveling. Pardon me? Snow shoveling. Snow shoveling in Minnesota. You go shovel for the old people and you get blessings you can't even believe in. That's right. That's right. This is old school, and old school is best. One last thing is calm activities heal chaos. And that heals you, it heals your home, everything outside of your home, and that helps you to feel peace. And outside of you, peace grows as a result of this.
SPEAKER_00So go back to the basics, old school, old school, old school, old school. Okay, that makes sense. It does. But it just amazes me that it's all these years, it's like am I even going to be alive 14 years from now? When we're at when we're at this point, you look and you say you do.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_00Well, I might not live to see it going to the next sign. There we go. By then I'll be so tired I won't want to. Yeah, you won't remember what the next sign is. But anyway, I have a couple of stone pairings that I would like to talk about. The first one is for worry and anxiety. And this beginning of this year, at least around here, there has been much worry. Yes. There has been much anxiety. Oh, yes. And there has been much trepidation. Oh. And so I would like to talk about a couple of stone pairings. The first one, then again, for anxiety and worry, the first stone is lipidolite. Now that will be, that'll be, we're going to talk about it, but for each of these, the lipidolite works. If you are feeling anxious and it's a mental anxiety, it's that intellectual, it's things just aren't going. Take the lipidolite and also use amethyst. And that pairing will calm you down, give you clarity. It's like you were just saying, doing the dishes, that type of thing. Um, if it's a physical anxiety, yeah, try uh rose quartz or green adventuring with the lipidolite. Don't lose the lipidolite, but you could so if it's both mental and physical, you could do lipidolite, amethyst, rose quartz, green adventuring, put it together. Now, these stones are all safe to put by the bed. They'd be safe to put by your computer, they're safe for children. Just don't let them chew on them. Lapidolite is not a good stone to chew on. Let's put it that way. Uh, that is something you don't want babies chewing on or adults chewing on. Yeah, but that is a really good one for worry and anxiety. And the other one, you were talking about motivation for getting motivated. We have a pairing, and again, all these stones, very, very easy to come by. Getting motivated, brown or gold tiger's eye. It's the same stone, brown, gold, whatever. Tiger's eye and carnelian. Oh, carnelian is it's a mover and a shaker. It's that first and second chakra. Let's get it moving, let's get the energy, let's get going. Let's, I need to clean out the closet, get some carnelian, that type of thing. I should know this because the last week and a half I've driven my husband nuts by cleaning the house from top to bottom. And much carnelian was found. And you mix it with tiger's eye. And I it's really funny. I keep running across all these stones and I'm throwing them in my big stones box. Um, I think we had mentioned last, I don't even know that we had mentioned it last month, but I sold the shop after 30 years. Gemological esoterica, the shop, the rock shop is no more. But I still have a collection of stones. Uh so there are many of these stones still floating around. And what can I say? You uh you know, old rock hounds never die. They just kind of I don't know what they do, but they that's not what they do. But anyway, so getting motivated, tiger's eye and carnelian trot, give them a shot. Those I would not necessarily put by my bed. That was that would be something that would wake you up at night or keep you up awake, so that you would have to get the stones for the worry and anxiety. Anyway, it's gonna go on, but anyway, there's a couple of stones pairings for you. So now the way you yeah.
SPEAKER_01So now for one of our favorite spots every year, we like to share some of last year's podcasting statistics. I can't even speak. In in my defense, I was out this morning and my mouth is still frozen over.
SPEAKER_00There you go. So just to let everybody know, these are two dozy broad statistics for last year, and it's only last year's statistics. It doesn't go back. We've just started our ninth year of podcasting, but this is just from this last year. So I can't believe that oh I was just gonna say, can't believe that we finished our eighth year of podcasting. That that's amazing. And I we have not, I think we've only missed one month. I think that might have been when you were ill one of the two times. Yeah. We have done very well. Our podcasts were downloaded over 500 times last year, making our all-time total to over 5,600 times that people have downloaded our podcast.
SPEAKER_01Well, we're very we're very grateful, and we're also extraordinarily astonished. Yeah, no kidding. And we also were heard in nine different countries, including Ireland, Singapore, Canada, Sweden. We were listened to in 54 cities last year, including Clone, Meath, Ireland, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Frankfurt on Main in Hesse, Germany.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and of course, there's the the common ones that we've talked about, you know, the Minneapolis and the different ones around here. But we we really we really do want to offer our appreciation to all you people. We've never met you. I have, I have on one occasion, I did have someone who had an international texting plan. And because of the number we have given you over the years, uh, who has actually texted and said, Hey. Uh, so anytime you want to say hey, hey, the number, even though the shop is closed, the phone number is not changed. If you want to text me and say, hey, we'll we'll give you a shout-out on the next podcast. So there we appreciate every single one of you, whether you're making noise at us or not. This this is true. We know you're there. We know, yeah, and we're we are very we actually are very touched by it. We want you to know. We're just a couple of old ladies who talk. Uh, our most listened to podcast, our episode last year, was Liar Pants on Fire from March 2025. Now, I don't remember that one. I should go back. I I do on occasion go back and listen to them, but I um I I will I will have to go back and listen to that one. Uh, but that was our most listened to podcast.
SPEAKER_01So that must it must have been some kind of bell ringer. And we don't know what we said.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it must have been something, boy. I don't know, but who knows.
SPEAKER_01But anyway, so uh I guess that pretty much again is well, dear listeners, we hope that 2026 is starting out to be a good year for you all, and we thank you for tuning into our silliness each month. We do appreciate each and every one of you and wish you all the best for 2026. Agreed, yes. So for now, I am Linda Stro Shane of the Mercury Academy, still in the frozen northland.
SPEAKER_00And I am Sandy from Gemalogical Esoterica, still hiding out in the Wisconsin tundra somewhere. And it ain't it ain't no warmer over there. No, it isn't. No, it isn't. And we remain two dogs. Goodbye.
