In our 100th Episode, we discuss our recent cruise & why from an astrological viewpoint it went the way it did. Spoiler....not well.
It's after July 4th. You'd think the fireworks would be over, but no. Not with two dozy brots. Oh, ain't that the joke? Oh, God. I am Linda Stroeshane from the Mercury Academy.
SPEAKER_01And I am Sandy from Gemological Esoterica. And we are two dozy broths. Well, this month I'm going to start by telling you about.
SPEAKER_00Tell you a story.
SPEAKER_01Tell you a story about a cruise that the producer Don and I took. We got back from last week. After I tell the story, Linda is going to explain why many of the things that happened can be attributed to astrology. Yeah, it's astrology's fault. So anyway, Don and I went on, it was a senior cruise, uh, brand new boat, very beautiful boat. We cruised around Lake Michigan. We started in Milwaukee, we ended in Milwaukee, so we could drive in the whole nine yards. Yeah. So we get on, we get on board the boat. It's gorgeous. It's beautiful. The help, I I I will say nothing bad about any of the employees, any of the crew, they were exceptional. Oh, good. And the food was always exceptional. And that's where I'm going to draw the line. Um, so anyway, what happened? First say everything was fine. Second morning, we had gone to breakfast, had come back, the uh steward had cleaned the room, and there was a wet spot in front of the bathroom door. And I thought, well, maybe he had, you know, it was literally white marble. I thought maybe he had spilled some water, whatever, didn't think anything of it. That night when I got up to go to the bathroom, there was a wet spot by my side of my bed. So the next morning I reported it to a member of the crew that they went in. And when we got back from the excursion that day, a third of the room was covered in towels. And we're like, what the hell just happened here? Turned out the guy next door and his significant person, uh, he was quite senile, and he had put towels in the bottom of the shower so he wouldn't slip, but it clogged up the shower two days in a row. Oh so, and if you know anything about water, you know it doesn't it it on carpeting, it doesn't just stay this nice little tight line, it it meanders and it goes and it keeps getting further. It wanders, it wanders. So we went through a couple of days of towels and after and then it our our room is Grand Central Station. They were coming in, changing towels, doing this, doing that. Then they brought in the industrial blower.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's a comforting thing. That's cool.
SPEAKER_01And I kid you not, it was appalling. So I Don had me take pictures of everything, uh-huh, and we sent it all off to corporate asking if they could do something, not for this cruise. Yeah, but we were planning on taking a future cruise. Would you be willing to give us something? Yes. So it turned out we found out that then they had gone back to the hotel manager on a even on a boat, it's a hotel manager, uh-huh, and to get with his opinion anyway. So things were starting to dry up, and that night somebody from the third floor put something down the toilet that they weren't supposed to. Now on a ship, you were only probably you are only supposed to put human waste and the toilet paper, they provide absolutely nothing else. Okay, not even a hair. So uh somebody flushed a fleshable wipe, wasn't it, Don? It was a fleshable wipe down the toilet and it clogged up just about the whole system. Now we never lost toilets, um, but everybody else was off and on in this and that and the other thing. So we go off on a morning excursion, and we come back, and the blower is still blowing, and there's towels, and our closet is open, and we look in the bathroom, and they had taken out the bathroom ceiling, and they had taken a sazol and cut the sewer line above our bathroom. So haven't they? Oh my god. Oh, yeah. So I took pictures and I sent it to corporate. These are these are your your uh vacation photos. These are my they believe me, they're my vacation photos. Yes, they are. Oh Lord. So anyway, um I talked, then I also said to corporate, excuse me, it's been two uh two emails and you've never responded to me. I'd like a response. And so they came back. Well, we thought the problem was fixed. Uh no, it wasn't. So the hotel manager, he was very nice. Uh they got, and I I also told them, I said, once the room is cleaned up, I said, I want new anything that you can change. I and he changed the bedding. He even cleaned, they even put in new dust ruffles. Oh, good. I mean, it was everything. And they finally got the towels taken out, and blah, blah, blah. And they finally, and they would turn off the blowers at night so we could sleep. And it was we were gone for nine days, and this this went on for four and a half. So, anyway, uh, after that, then we went up to our room one night, and there was a bottle of down perignan champagne along with a very nice charcuterie tray. Oh, and we heard from corporate, and they said, Well, we're gonna do something for you, but you won't find out until after the cruise is fully over with, which to me basically meant we're gonna blow you off. So, anyway, yeah, we finally got home. Everything else was fine. Home was free. Except we had we had to go and buy a portable cooler and ice to bring the champagne home with because you can't leave that in a 100-degree car, 130-degree car, which was fine. We needed a new cooler anyway, and it's now sitting safely in the in the refrigerator, uh, waiting for mimosas to show up, I think, is I'm pretty sure that would be a good a good use of it. But anyway, uh Corporate did contact us two days after we got off the boat, and they compensated us remarkably well. I'm not going to say remarkably well. Oh, good. But that was our experience. And when I told Linda about it, you said that it you could tell us why this happened astrologically. So this whole thing leads up to the astrology of the moment.
SPEAKER_00Astrology.
SPEAKER_01Why? Why, why, oh, why did this have to happen?
SPEAKER_00Why do the Roman galley slaves have a better trip than we had? That's right. Uh well, part of it was, and and it isn't things that just happened then. It's like the result of ongoing aspects of the couple I'm gonna talk about. First, we had Jupiter exalted in cancer, because Jupiter was in a happy mood. I mean, that's happy? Well, what blows things out of proportion. Okay, yeah, as Gary said, it blows things out of proportion, but it it's it's an odd form of beneficence. You are you are given plenty, and you were given plenty of water because it's cancer.
SPEAKER_01Yes, during a cancer.
SPEAKER_00In a home, your home away from home, which is also cancer because cancer is the home. It's a powerful and important aspect, and what it did was it buttressed, it didn't stop any of the sludge, but it helped you get the marvelous beneficence at the end of the line. Yes, because at the end of it it was your your home was overwhelmed, flooded, flooded, overwhelmed, and this is what we can do about it. Now, the business about uh the old guy with the towels or the other one with the flushable wipe, all that, that that gets us into that brings up the end of the Mercury retrograde and cancer. And it's basically, I didn't know I couldn't do that at home because I do that at my own home. Right. And so you get people who came in and they said, This is my home. And well, at home I flushed the wipe. Well, at home, you have your sewer system, it isn't attached to a boat, right? It's on land with bigger pipes and all of these sorts of things. And so you you you were traveling, it's a friend of ours that used to call it traveling on someone else's transits. The transits you were traveling on were those of people who were either not paying attention, which was the flushable wipe, or in the case of the other one, uh having more and more problems, and those were revealed unto the world. And so that's the Mercury retrograde. That's well, we thought everything would be fine, and then what happened was all these problems in communication that manifested on the home front. Another aspect that Pyle drove into this was Uranus is in Gemini right now, which is a communication overhaul. So you're on the maiden voyage of the SS, the Mary Celeste or the Andrea Doria, or whatever you were on, the Ile de France, and you uh you had the regular bugs. And so the regular bugs, it's conceivable with the retrograde and all that, were something in the plumbing. And all these little things conspired together, uh, and that added to it. Sudden eruptions based on a lack of communication, that's this. That's this, and then you add add in there, we had just come through what uh or have just entered into Saturn and Aries, and now Saturn is retrograde in Aries, but Saturn is in Aries as we pay for not listening. Either we pay or somebody else pays, so you got to pay for these other people not listening.
SPEAKER_01Ah, okay.
SPEAKER_00And we also had Neptune in Aries, which was impulsive and not paying attention, and so you had these other people impulsive and not paying attention. That's a flying asset. And isn't Neptune water anyway? Neptune is water anyway, and Neptune is I'm in my own little cocoon.
SPEAKER_01And it's wet in here.
SPEAKER_00It's wet in here, and you but you were in the cocoon created by the actions of these other people, combined with whatever had had manifested before this, and under normal circumstances, which none of this was, things would have been almost a problem, but not quite. But all of these people brought their own strength to these aspects. It would be interesting, of course, who will not to see the uh uh towel guy's chart and uh a flushable person's chart because flush uh toilet or towel guy is this is how I do it.
SPEAKER_01Well, probably at home someone gets the towel out of there before it well, also if it's in a bathtub, a bathtub can fill with six inches of water and not spill. Yeah. This in a in a boat, you know, the lip is like what an inch and a half before. Exactly. Not even an inch and a half before the water starts spilling.
SPEAKER_00So there's no margin for error. And when you walked onto the cruise, the margin of error had disappeared. It's like suddenly something went click. So it was a combination of the Jupiter overdue, and it Jupiter's in Cancer, so it's going to be an overdue of of water, and you have the lack of communication, and you made strong communication, but nobody nobody said that they'd done any of these things until after they'd happened. And it was only once your cabin was squishy did you find out that somebody had done this other thing. Of course, the people in that cabin obviously knew earlier. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Because they didn't say anything.
SPEAKER_00They didn't say anything, and they didn't say the water is heading toward cabin wall.
SPEAKER_01Well, and they didn't say anything until the crew came in and checked out their cabin. They were walking around in a flooded cabin not wanting to tell anybody. Exactly. Thinking it had only gone from wall to wall.
SPEAKER_00And it it because it only it only makes our cabin into a moldy mess. Yes. And that that only impacts us. And so there, but all of these missed and garbled communications, but the the overriding thing was the mercury retrograde cancer. And that also brings out, and you just pointed it out here, extraordinarily childish behaviors. It's like in a Christmas story where Ralphie puts his glasses back on and one lens is missing, and the glasses are cockeyed, and he said, I'll fake it. Mom will never know. And yeah, people find out. And the thing with the mercury retrograde and cancer is cancer takes great joy in saying, we're gonna find you out. Yep. And if you if you if you haven't told, we're gonna tell on you, because mercury retrograde and cancer is a very, I'm gonna tell on you kind of a thing. And so that is that is what we have, that is the main thing. But with the the Saturn and Aries, that also helped with getting the uh the the beneficence at the end of the line because it's grounding. Neptune and Aries is flying around. But when you have Saturn and Aries, Saturn says, but we must do something. And so, although Aries is not a sign known for its follow-through, it brings energy to follow through. Okay, and the Jupiter is sitting there saying, We want this done, and we want to Mop it up. Mop it up. We want to have the house, in this case the boat, cleaned. Yes, and the only way to do it is to help these people out. Okay. And so it was basically you had you had a problem, you had a problem, and a lot of problems, but at the end of the line, there was this good outcome, and a lot of it was because you you had said that you feathers came into your uh and I was trying to say stay so positive.
SPEAKER_01Wasn't I were you were you amazed at me that I was being I and that I was being really nice. That worked. I mean, you you were spooky. I was I was being ma nice, and that's you're yeah, you're now back in the room there were a lot of F bombs flying, but well, but not out.
SPEAKER_00But you didn't you didn't take it out on anyone else, and that that also brought in a nice little juice of karma from your own chart because your chart and mine are kind of parallel, and all of that was going on the the cancer stuff, roughly in your fourth house, which is home, mother, end of the matter, that kind of things.
SPEAKER_01Okay, well, good. So it's truly fascinating how the astrological aspects can affect our everyday lives and cruises. From going to get groceries to buying a car. We're not saying you need to live by astrology, but in some cases, a quick peek at your chart might save you some hair pulling. So for another month, I am Linda Strochane of the Mercury Academy.
