Welcome to Wellspring Church!
What happens when we truly grasp who we are in Christ? In this message, we explore how identity, power, and mission are meant to go together. When Jesus emerged from his Spirit-led time of fasting, he stepped into ministry filled with the Spirit—and clear about his identity as the Son of God. In the same way, followers of Jesus are invited to live from the same pattern: knowing who we are, walking in the Spirit’s power, and joining God’s mission in the world.
Looking at Luke 4 and Jesus’ announcement of his ministry, we see that God’s people are not spectators in God’s work. We are participants. Jesus reveals a God who sends—Father sending the Son, and the Father and Son sending the Spirit. Created in his image, we too are a people sent into the world.
📖 Key Themes in This Message:
🔹 How identity, power, and mission are inseparable in the life of Jesus
🔹 Why stepping away from God’s mission can cause us to lose clarity about who we are
🔹 Jesus’ declaration of good news for the poor, freedom for captives, and healing for the broken
🔹 Expecting great things from God and attempting great things for God
Jesus’ mission reveals the heart of God: bringing restoration, freedom, and hope to a hurting world. As we follow him, we discover that our identity as children of God is not just something we believe—it’s something we live out by joining his work.
