Speaker 2 (00:32.462)
Well hello TT. Hello. How are we today? Today being Saturday.
Queenie.
Speaker 1 (00:39.406)
It's Saturday, unusual for us to record on a Saturday.
Yes, of late it is. We've just we're been popping all around the the days of the week. Rocking around the clock, so to speak.
rocking around. And it's kind of a yucky day today. Kind of chilly. Yeah, I what I was driving.
So kind of, oof, pouring rain. For a moment there when I stuck my head out the door, thought, not snow. It's cold. It's damp, cold, dark. It's not spring like. We got a little spoiled there. A little bit. Not overly much. Don't go crazy now.
day.
Speaker 2 (01:19.182)
but we did see the sun a couple times this past week. So today's snacks are here.
Are we talking about this necks first or the weed first?
Well, they do. They do. We're eating Reese's peanut butter.
that go hand in hand.
Speaker 1 (01:38.968)
Cup Cookies.
Yeah, from market side. Are these from Walmart? They are. I think they are. Wow. Well, they're very tasty and they're made with Reese's peanut butter. Very good. Very tasty stuff. They taste extra special because well, you know, we have our closet disco queen podcast deals with legal adult cannabis use and is intended for entertainment purposes only.
cups.
Speaker 1 (02:00.386)
have imbibed.
Speaker 2 (02:10.007)
for those 21 and older.
Speaker 2 (02:15.266)
So Titi, what have you used? Well, what have you consumed?
I have consumed one of these beautiful little, or part of one of these beautiful little joints you got me. Tangerine cream from Ravensview Genet...
I know you like the tangerine cream.
cream and that was so kind of you to gift these to me. So yeah this that the snackies are tasting.
Mighty good. So good. Mighty good. Mighty good. I am enjoying a pre-roll joint called from Kiefer.
Speaker 1 (02:52.482)
Sutherland?
Now, what are you dribbling all over yourself?
I was doing okay biting into my cookie. Did I lose?
Well, no, no, you're, you're intact. Don't worry about it. It's okay. All right. Well, needless to say, we're both, enjoying the effects of said cannabis. Yes. And said cookies with the remarkably, forward taste of sugar.
and cook.
Speaker 1 (03:28.046)
All of it's there.
Oh yes, it's all there, the sugar crystals are very, very dominant, wouldn't you say? Yeah. They're obvious. Yeah.
Like, yeah. Which normally it's just part of the cookie dough. these are a little crunchy.
Little crunchy, but yum yum. We like very much. So yes, it's been a drear drear week and you've been busying yourself with continuing with the archeologic dig. So what exciting things have we uncovered this week?
than a busy little
Speaker 1 (04:02.846)
We uncovered some more newspaper and magazine articles about President Kennedy's death and a special edition about President Kennedy and his son. Yeah, who also has passed on. And then also there were my parents had saved a couple of time magazines. One was the first moonwalk.
Yes, John Jr.
Speaker 2 (04:27.564)
Back in July of 1969.
And then the second was, or another one was the Bicentennial.
That was in 1976. would know that. Big year for us.
Big year for. So the and then the other was the I can't remember now anniversary of something. know Declaration of Independence something. Wow. So yeah, very interesting. And and I think I mentioned last week that newspaper headlines from when President Obama was elected.
So really key moments.
Speaker 2 (05:01.646)
yes. Yes, we did see that this yeah. Yep
Yeah, so very interesting. Fun stuff. Do you know what else I found just yesterday? There was this long piece of wood and it had been shellacked or varnished. And I flipped it over. had a handle. I flipped it over and it said, and they had used like a nail, nail holes to carve word, you know, letters in it. said to Mr. A from Mrs. C's class.
and each of the kids in the class had had somehow either scratched or poked their name into it. So cute, but it was like, this is what you're going to get paddled with.
Isn't that cute?
Speaker 2 (05:44.948)
I was gonna say like say hello to my little friend
Well, we did have a paddle that was hanging forever that said on it, board of education.
My mother would give us those paddle balls. Those things with the little red ball on And she'd just literally yank the thing off. And that would be the paddle. And then banging it on the side of the table. yeah, yeah. And that went right up on the fridge. So we knew right where it was. And when we saw the hand go up, Walking around with a strap on her shoulder.
Yeah, it was like my mom with the belt.
Speaker 2 (06:25.71)
Get the strap. That is so cool. That stick is so cool. Was that Mrs. Do you know who the?
Get the strip.
Speaker 1 (06:35.512)
Which miss see miss missus or miss I can't remember. Could have been could ask her. Yeah.
This could have been D.
Do you remember this? Is this your nail hole?
So that was kind of fun. found his resignation letter. Yeah, but just so much.
How cool is that?
Speaker 2 (06:58.036)
stuff. Yeah, I got a big kick out of you had you had a photo album that it appeared the faculty had put together and given your dad when he retired and I knew some of the teachers that was that was a lot of fun. It was interesting going through, you know, your parents did save interesting, very interesting things that really told their story, you know, story you knew about. Yeah, so far.
So far I haven't found any juicy anything except the relics.
the relics. So, well, that's
Yeah, so that's been, it's been a good way to also work through letting go, you know. I'm getting to the point now where it's like, what am I gonna do with these hummels?
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2 (07:43.774)
god yeah. I know we saw them all. Yeah I saw them. The Hummel, the Adra. I mean you got all...
That was a measure of success or something back in day. Yeah. Middle class sort of. Yeah.
Damn it.
Speaker 2 (08:02.562)
Those things were expensive. These hummels were... and I'm going back into the 80s.
They were a hundred plus dollars a piece, if I remember correctly. That was a lot of money. was a big deal. And they came out in limited, you know, they were very limited editions. Yeah, well, people used to trade for these things.
So, yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:20.014)
So was a big deal.
they're collectible.
Speaker 1 (08:29.582)
It's like the old Franklin mint.
Speaker 1 (08:35.918)
Oh yeah. of specific ones to add to their collection.
I worked for a woman who she and her sister were big collectors. I knew all about Umbrella Boy and Umbrella Girl. Little Poppy, Poppy, Poppy. Good God.
We have Umbrella Boy, if you need an extra.
Anybody need an umbrella boy? Is it a small umbrella boy or a big umbrella boy? Yeah, I think they're, yeah, that was about what, five inches? that a big Four or five?
I think the small ones are only like this big. has some little ones.
Speaker 2 (09:08.206)
Yeah. All right. I have no idea. Yeah, I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm just really talking out of my ass. It's just, you know, muscle memory at this point.
Speaker 2 (09:24.044)
Yes, there are several hummels feel free to reach out and yeah, we'll pack them up. Yeah Happy to yeah, just let us know and we'll take care of it. That's right. Reach out reach out for the hummels and Yeah, umbrella boy. If you have an umbrella girl Can't go wrong. Absolutely not
Yep, send it to

one woman was having a hard time coming in and I had, I helped my mother to the restroom at one point and spied a wheelchair in the hallway fold, you know, fold it up. And I thought, Hmm, if it's still there when we're getting ready to leave, this might be an option. So, but I went and checked. I looked, it was still there. I asked the bartender, said, do you know, does that wheelchair belong to any, patron here? And he said, no.

Wow.
Speaker 1 (15:16.686)
Which is awesome. Of course you did that.
Well, we had to get on the stick here, guys. Come on, let's go. Let's go. Make it safe for everybody. Yeah, for sure. So it was fun. It really was.

So TT, do you have a story to share?
I I have an update. So far the governor of Texas has not signed the anti THC bill yet. Could happen any day. has the sessions over I think on Monday or Tuesday. So he has, I think six days after that to decide whether he's going to sign it, not sign it or now if he doesn't sign it, I think it passes. Isn't that correct? Yeah. Okay.
I do not know.
If he doesn't sign or veto it, I should say. If he does nothing at all, I think it passes. So he's got to either sign it or veto it. But maybe he's a chicken. Chicken?
A chicken speaking. Is he a taco? Is he a taco chicken? I love it. Trump always chickens out.
Speaker 1 (17:18.04)
Taka, taka, taka. Well, the other thing, though, that I want to report on, it's related to this Texas story, is that an Austin business owner accused the lieutenant governor of blatantly lying about his THC infused products while he was advocating for a state ban. So the lieutenant governor was pushing incorrect information on people.
about a particular brand that's being sold there. Wow. Just to scare people.
people took it at face value.
He displayed the product, he held it up and he claimed it was unregulated.
another gem Dan Patrick.
Speaker 1 (17:58.942)
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And, and, he said there were dangerous THC levels and the, the, owners, like there's clear labeling and information about testing. So anyway, they're considering suing him.
hope to God, this, this, lying, outright lying, making things up. It's got to stop.
I know I hope so too
Speaker 1 (18:23.625)
Yep.
It's called Hometown Hero, the company. Patrick said, no one knows what's in any of these bags. And he was holding up cereal bites, it's called. Yeah. And if you look at this one, it says 300 milligrams. But if you add up what it really says, it could be 1200 milligrams. This is all phony junk. It's like, no, everything is on there on the packaging. just need to know.
It's their product.
Speaker 2 (18:53.614)
You have to read. Yeah.
Yeah, it clearly states what's in there. the ingredients, everything that's what's happening in Texas. So it's, it's astounding to me that people in positions of power can lie so blatantly these days. It's nonstop.
Oh, and it's right. Look at what RFK Jr. has put forth as a scientific study, a document, and it's citing untrue sources, nonexistent sources. And the White House is trying to explain, oh, well, you know, we just didn't cite it properly, you know, blah, blah. Oh, holy moly, guys.
It's like, baffling with your bullshit, basically.
Unreal. Unreal.
Speaker 1 (19:42.872)
So it's kind of scary. Anyhow, that's one of the things too I wanted to mention is the idea that the packaging is really important because there was an incident here in New York a couple of weeks ago where there was some packaging that looked and I think it actually might have had the word gummy bear on it, but it had pictures of gummy bears and it a child thought they were just gummy bears. And now, first of all,
It should have been in a secure location. Correct. And second of all, it was not a approved or regulated product. So anyway, be careful what you're looking at, looking for, make sure that you're getting it from a reputable licensed source before you bring anything home.
regular
Speaker 2 (20:32.448)
Right. Especially children, pets, because some of these things are packaged to appeal. Now that's, yeah, that's one thing in New York that they've, it clearly, cannot look cartoonish or anything along those lines to appeal to children or young people.
Right.
Speaker 1 (20:38.84)
I will have the child.
Speaker 1 (20:51.458)
So be careful what you're buying.
Yes, that's great. That's great luck. Great. Great luck. Great advice. That's all. That's all she's got, folks.
I got
Speaker 2 (21:04.128)
Are you a cannabis Noel?
or a total poser.

with Queenie and TT's high Qs.
Speaker 2 (21:40.93)
I have a surprise. I do. I was getting bored again with Ignis Fatuous. I don't know. It just wasn't sparking for me anymore. I go through these periods. I have to be entertained. We've come up with a new feature. Basically, we're going to be talking about different cannabis facts.
You
Speaker 1 (22:04.352)
Okay, so I have to determine if it's true or false.
along those lines. Yeah, so I'm gonna give you three scenarios. One will be a true and false, true or false. One will be a multiple choice and the other will be, if I have better word, essay, whether something is a myth or a fact. Okay. Okay? Yep. So one from each. Okay. Column A, B, and C. Okay. Alrighty.
Please not an essay.
Speaker 1 (22:34.454)
have three questions to answer.
Three questions to answer. The first of which is this is a true or false. In 1850 Queen Victoria used cannabis pills to alleviate menstrual cramps.
1850.
True or false?
I'm going to say false because I don't think they had cannabis pills back then. They had cannabis, of course, but I don't know that they were in pill form. I'm saying false for that one. Although it would relieve, I think it would relieve menstrual cramps, but it's the pill thing that's got me wondering.
Speaker 2 (23:16.174)
understood now since this is we're we're working this in process. Yes. Do you want to learn the answer now or should we reserve that until the end? I'd like to know. You'd like to know now whether or not that is true or false.
Yeah, because I'll forget that we even had that question.
You have a fine point there and I would tend to agree. okay. So that would be, that would be true. Pills? Yes. Yes. They must've been able to make some sort of a compound for her. Good. Yeah. So the poor queen was able to consume some cannabis to get rid of those nasty cramps.
Yes.
Speaker 1 (23:51.086)
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (23:59.456)
You know, and we've been hearing about how effective it can be even now.
Even even now yes, even now without cramps. No, I mean like for us
Even now? For women? no, no, for, well, for, no, for young women with cramps.
Yes, yes, yes, definitely. Oh, most assuredly, most assuredly. OK, now the next item is going to be a multiple choice. Which country was the first to legalize both medical and recreational cannabis effective October 17th, 2018? Was it A, Uruguay?
2018?
Speaker 2 (24:42.466)
Is it Uruguay or Uruguay? Uruguay. Uruguay. Uruguay. Uruguay. B, Canada. C, South Africa.
or a gay.
Speaker 1 (24:55.402)
Interesting. I'm going to say Canada.
B. Titi has selected B, our neighbor to the north. Yes. Canada. You would be correct.
Speaker 2 (25:07.84)
It was Canada in 2018. Canada. It's all about Canada. Our neighbor to the north. Wasn't it though? Was a kind of just rift. You like that? It was like jazz singing. Ska. Ska? Is that that's called? Ska? I never knew what Ska was. One and one. This is the tiebreaker. This is the...
K.
Speaker 1 (25:20.588)
That was lovely.
Speaker 1 (25:29.646)
Okay.
Speaker 2 (25:37.002)
Myth vs. Fact
So this one is myth versus fact. Okay, fa fa fa fact. If you eat cannabis raw, for example, a salad of fresh buds, you'll get high. Is that a myth or a fact?
It's a myth.
Titi says it's a myth. She is correct. That is a myth. Do you know why it's a myth?
That's because, if I remember correctly, it has to be heated in order for the psychoactive properties to become activated.
Speaker 2 (26:16.962)
Yes, you have to activate the terpenes and the zzzz and the yeah. Remember we had to heat it up and yeah and distill it. Yeah. All that good stuff. So yes, eating it raw will do nothing. Right. But probably give you a tummy ache. Maybe. So maybe good. Good. Well, yeah, could be. Might be. I mean, if if you want to go, it doesn't look appealing to me, though, either. No, no, no, no. We've we've decided against that.
roughage anyway.
Speaker 1 (26:42.718)
No.
Speaker 1 (26:46.055)
Maybe as fresh greens? don't know. Like dandelion?
Not the buds, maybe the leafy parts. yeah. But the buds, no. No.
Mm-mm.
Okay, we've decided we're not eating it. not in pure raw form. Right. We can ingest cannabis in other ways. Once it's been processed. Yes, heated. Processed. There was a little different. I liked it. A little different thing. think it's
In many ways, yes.
Speaker 1 (27:10.328)
Well that was fun.
Speaker 1 (27:15.522)
good that we're focusing on cannabis since that's what this show is about.
Yes, I was thoughtful of trying to be thoughtful with that also Trying to keep you know, right raining in the brain bringing it in rain it in. Yeah, good Well done cleaning there you go
Well done, Queenie.
Speaker 2 (27:43.374)
She's got
Speaker 1 (27:54.572)
Mary Jane, is there a difference between and vaping when it comes to own health?
When you smoke cannabis, whether it's a joint, a bowl, or a good old one-hitter, you're combusting the plant. That means it burns at high temperatures. You're inhaling not just cannabinoids and terpenes, but also tar, carbon monoxide, and other irritants. Even though cannabis doesn't contain the same cocktail of chemicals found in tobacco, smoke
is still smoke. And for lungs, especially midlife lungs, it can cause coughing, irritation, and with long-term heavy use, respiratory issues like bronchitis. Now, a few occasional puffs, probably not a big deal. But if you're sparking up daily, your lungs may start filing complaints. Vaping heats cannabis, either flour or oil, to a temperature that releases the good stuff.
THC, CBD, terpenes, without burning the plant. That means lower temperatures, fewer harmful byproducts, less throat irritation, less odor, which your nosy neighbor might appreciate. If you're using a dry herb vaporizer, think Pax, Eraser, or Mighty. You're getting full spectrum relief with minimal lung irritation.
This is generally considered the gentlest option if you still want the fast-acting effects of inhalation. Oil cartridges and vape pens can be convenient, but you do need to be cautious about quality. Stick with licensed, lab-tested products, avoid anything that smells like bubblegum, and came from your cousin's friend's backpack. But is vaping safe? Let's be clear. Less harmful doesn't mean harmless.
Speaker 2 (29:48.544)
Inhaling anything into your lungs carries risk, especially over time. But compared to traditional smoking, vaping is generally easier on the lungs, more discreet, more efficient. You use less product. And if you have pre-existing lung issues, like asthma or a chronic cough, it's definitely worth exploring other consumption methods altogether, like
Other options for lung-free relief. Tinctures, under the tongue, fast-acting. Edibles, longer onset, longer lasting. Topicals, for localized pain, no, high. Capsules or beverages, easy and discreet. You don't have to inhale to enjoy cannabis. The plant is versatile, just like you. MJ's bottom-line vaping is generally gentler on your lungs than smoking.
especially if you're using a high-quality dry herb vaporizer and avoiding shady oils. But if your lungs are giving you the side eye, or if you just want to keep things squeaky clean, it might be time to look into other methods. Your lungs have carried you through a lot. Let's treat them with a little respect. And maybe a terpene-rich tincture instead of torching a joint every night. Well!
Well, that was interesting.
That was interesting. Yeah. I think vaping gets a bad, got a bad rap. A lot of it because where the problems were popping up for people who were vaping nicotine because they were mixing other substances in with the nicotine oils and the popcorn and so and people were definitely suffering serious damage. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:26.926)
Right, right.
Speaker 1 (31:33.378)
Yeah, there is all kinds of nasty stuff.
Speaker 2 (31:42.894)
quickly with those cartridges or whatever. I don't know if it would necessarily correlate it to vaping.
I know it doesn't sound like it from Mary Jane's response. Right. I mean it's it sounds like it's not it wouldn't be as potentially damaging as as smoking a joint
Right. So you're still smoking, but you're still smoking. said you're still smoking. So,
And if you only do it once in while, it's not a big deal. Like me, right?
Right. Like TT. Yeah. TT doesn't, doesn't smoke much at all. Nope. Once a quarter. Maybe. Maybe. Yeah. You're more of a gummy person. Absolutely love gummies. And bevies. Bevies are good too. Well, we're into the summer. Yeah. That's a great time of the year for that. So, well, that was quite interesting. And I hope that answers any questions people might've had if, if, if you had them about what, what that might potentially mean for your health. Correct.
Speaker 1 (32:19.406)
Absolutely. Only. I'm loving beverages lately.
Speaker 1 (32:40.01)
Well done Mary Jane. Thank you.
And she always comes through for us. Always, always, always. So Titi, what's going on this week? Anything exciting?
having lunch on Tuesday with some friends and other than that my sister's gonna be coming to town tonight so we'll be hopefully finishing up some of the sorting and packing and purging so yeah so that'll be interesting
how nice.
Speaker 2 (33:15.246)
I haven't been in your basement in probably 40 years. I have no idea how full that might have been.
We cleaned a lot it out yesterday. Well, we've been doing it. it's starting to look much, better. Wow.
Yeah, I know you've just been working diligently toward that goal. So we're getting there, but it.
We're getting there. Amazing what you can accumulate in 60 plus years.
know, I know. I mean we're here. We're here a long time.
Speaker 1 (33:56.11)
Mom, think about your mom's house.
Well, thank God it's less than a thousand square feet. I know, still. I mean, she's got it jammed full. Yeah. Jammed full. Every single closet is jammed. I don't know how four other people lived in there with her. Well, I know. did.
Well, the basement, there's so much storage down there. There's closets and shelves and more shelves and then more shelves. My mom was always very tidy. Yeah. Well, I didn't carry through.
The parents were tidy. They were very very tidy.
meticulously tidy.
Speaker 2 (34:32.93)
I wasn't saying that for any particular purpose. No shade, no shade. I am not one to speak. You know what I realized? And you're gonna laugh, I'm sure. And this, you know, here I am 66 as I've shared, okay? It's taken me this long to put A plus B plus C plus D all together. I realized very recently that everything,
I surround myself with piles everywhere. everywhere.
And unless I'm looking straight at it, doesn't bother me. Like I don't, I don't see it, but you know what I've realized? It's part of ADHD.
I love pile
Speaker 1 (35:23.378)
Really? I just move on to something else. But kitchen, piles, my desk at work always had piles on my desk. And I was the executive of many of these places. I had piles on the credenza and piles on the pile cabin, piles on the floor next to me. just made me realize that I don't know. think just I
Insight.
Speaker 2 (35:55.32)
for a long time just beat myself up thinking I was a slob. But it's not that. I'm not a hoarder, but it's I.
You're, well, they're organized into piles. It doesn't occur to you to do anything with the pile once it's piled.
and I and it doesn't
Speaker 2 (36:12.492)
It doesn't, I'm not, I don't feel compelled to, right? Right.
That's fine. People have different comfort levels with clutter, with piles, with you know...
The family room isn't like that. I don't know why. I really don't.
No.
Speaker 1 (36:29.782)
It's your working space that's like that.
Yeah, the yeah, you're right. The places I spend the. Yeah. Yeah.
wherever you're working. So I don't know. Yeah.
I don't know that I just that I don't know why that was like so like, ding. Yeah, piles, just piles.
Speaker 2 (37:09.546)
It isn't lazy, it's just how we cope Stacks of paper, books and random notes with memory We build a wall, each one so we don't...
System
Speaker 2 (37:41.55)
It's not about mess, it's a mental math Executive function takes a little nap, It makes perfect sense, the pie They're just our defense
We see what's Faces. Are broken.
and
are not the problem
Speaker 1 (38:22.894)
to piles of this and piles of that, all this, just things that you think to yourself, why would you keep that? But because she came from an upbringing of such scarcity, they saved everything, you know? you know, bags and, this is a nice plastic bag, know, like all.
Well, like, good boxes. Good boxes. It's a good.
I have like a whole recycling bin full of good boxes. Macy's and you know. Nobody even uses them anymore. People use gift bags. Right. There were a lot of those too. Amy went home with them all and the whole big thing of wrapping papers. Yeah. She had a little wrapping room. In the furnace room, you know. Yeah. She had... I'll show it.
The are hard to come.
Speaker 2 (39:05.784)
Wow
that's
Speaker 2 (39:12.408)
Yeah.
my goodness, yeah
That was where she kept all the wrapping paper and tape and scissors and... Go in there and wrap a present.
Everything in its place, place for everything. See, that's organized. That is organized. my God. I think I'm halfway there with I have a bin that's made for wrapping paper. You know, it's tall and you can put many rolls, like 10 rolls of that in there. And then it's got a special little container on top where you put the tape and the bows and all that stuff. stuff's in there.
but I would say it's stuffed in there. The lid doesn't go on. Yeah, but it's in there. I got halfway there, halfway there with the whole thing. Good intentions.
Speaker 1 (39:51.639)
You
It's in there you've got it the right place
Speaker 1 (40:04.942)
How did you ever find that?
I do have good intentions. I do I do I do
I I don't know, I realized that I am comforted by my stuff, having, you know, my tchotchkes and things my kids made me and drawings and you know, all that kind of stuff. Like I took everything off my mom's refrigerator and it was like,
Yeah, my refrigerator is like that. I've got all sorts of stuff. I've got stuff from my kids, from my grandkids, stuff, you know, just up there with magnets, Lucille Ball, friends.
That's I put seat to me that does that would stress some people out having all that clutter sure but to me it's a comfort
Speaker 2 (40:52.43)
It cracks me up. I look at things that makes me smile makes me laugh. Yeah brings it might have a birth announcement up there or a save the date card from someone's wedding 12 years ago But yeah, it's again. It's like a it's like a walk down memory lane. Yeah, bring again. I does bring me comfort. I like that stuff. Yeah
So for each person, know, do your thing.
Yep, yep. Well, yeah, I mean, yeah, there are a lot of things I'm giving up. You know, giving up caring about.
yeah, well yeah, cause you can't continue to... Let go of some of the shit.
But you realize how freaking
Speaker 2 (41:31.084)
Who the hell cares? Yeah. So, yeah. Well, we can talk more about that some other time. Anything else, TG? That's all I have. Okay. Well, I hope everybody has a great week and if we're not swimming out of here, we'll see you next week. Bye bye. Bye.
