Drop us a line or two . . .

Queenie and TT record in the morning like the agile legends they are… despite a little tech lag. They recap a quiet Stink-O-Rama roller skating day, celebrate Chef Son’s homemade feast, and spiral (comedically) into the brutal truth of aging, hormones, and the “we’re shriveling into dust balls” era. They revisit Tanya’s menopause/HRT wisdom, debate psychedelics and microdosing, and share what they’re consuming. TT covers a dating poll suggesting cannabis use is more “green flag” than “red flag,” then the ladies play “Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda—Was it Cannabis or Caca?” Finally, the Fuck-It List targets the weird guilt around watching TV during the day—because retirement means you can watch Netflix at 2pm if you damn well please.

Episode summary (long)

This week, Closet Disco Queen goes full “morning people (temporarily)” with Queenie and TT battling a little lag, a little pixelation, and a lot of midlife honesty. Queenie shares a return to Stick-O-Rama (empty rink = bliss), a big family moment, and the shock of time flying. The conversation turns to the very real physical shift that seems to hit in the early 60s—skin changes, hormone deprivation, and the urgent mission to get “back on the horse” (radiant edition).

They reflect on Tanya’s candid menopause/sex/HRT conversation and unpack the idea of psychedelics—what microdosing actually means, why the stigma lingers even for cannabis-friendly folks, and whether “if not now, when?” applies here.

TT’s “Where is it legal?” segment brings a positive story: a dating poll where marijuana use reads more green flag than red flag (while cigarettes and riskier drugs are bigger turnoffs). Then it’s game time: Mitch McConnell frolicking in hemp (real) vs. an HOA hemp-rope freakout (sadly, caca).

The episode wraps with the Fuck-It List: ditching the unwritten rule that daytime TV is “bad” unless you’re sick—because retirement means your stories are back on the menu.

speaker-0 (00:19.15)
sit back and get Learn all about it. Tell you can't about having to ask a 22 year old. Let's get

speaker-0 (00:32.654)
Hello, Titi. Good morning. Good morning. are recording in the morning. This time around.

speaker-1 (00:34.478)
Hello Queen.

speaker-1 (00:41.863)
We're not uses. We're like little slits.

speaker-0 (00:44.843)
We're so flexible. We're so agile. We can do it all right. Right. I'll just say.

speaker-1 (00:49.364)
We can. We can. We can. can roll with any schedule that comes up against us. For some reason, your mouth is not matching up to your words right now.

speaker-0 (01:00.558)
I think it catches up at one point. No? No? No. Okay. I don't know what to do with anything. My is not lining up with my words. I not say anything? Should I?

speaker-1 (01:03.584)
Okay, now.

speaker-1 (01:14.786)
No, guess it's just, I think it's just, well, you're a little pixelated too. I think it's just a little lag in the connection maybe.

speaker-0 (01:23.162)
Your pic's elated every once in a while. I don't pick on you though. don't you.

speaker-1 (01:27.758)
It just is a little...

It's a little weird, I'm hearing your words and your mouth's talking.

speaker-0 (01:34.744)
Well, now you're doing the same thing. I'm watching you going... Yes. I know. Can't live with it, can't live without it. Well, that's what they tell us, right? Yeah. So we had the chillings were off this week. So we made a return visit to Stick-O-Rama for some roller skating. And the place was empty. Empty. I think all the weather mongers had gotten to everybody. They were, you know...

speaker-1 (01:38.028)
Really?

speaker-1 (01:44.878)
Yup.

speaker-0 (02:02.558)
screeching with three to six inches of precipitation compared to the other times we've been there unbelievably empty empty yeah

speaker-1 (02:05.4)
Yeah, everybody.

speaker-1 (02:13.198)
Well, it was nice for you and the girls. It wasn't so crowded.

speaker-0 (02:17.186)
That really was quite nice. Quite nice. So we had lot of fun. a busy day. Busy day. Sunny Boy cooked for us. Yum yum. Beef bourguignon. Yum yum. Mashed potatoes. German chocolate cake. Made from scratch. Delish. Delish. That's first time he's cooked for me.

speaker-1 (02:25.848)
Yummy yummy yummy.

Yeah.

speaker-1 (02:37.356)
Yummy, yummy.

That is wonderful. It's about time. Mr. Chef actually cooks for you.

speaker-0 (02:46.466)
Yes he did. I was very appreciative. I said something to his twin sister the other day and she goes, that's good for you. Must be nice. So he's never cooked for her. he's, he's got some, he's got some splaining to do. There was some cooking to do. But that was lot of fun. And we sang happy birthday to Brynny the day before her birthday. I cannot believe she's 12.

speaker-1 (02:55.49)
He's never.

speaker-1 (03:02.721)
Yes he does.

speaker-1 (03:12.606)
So nice. Time machine, yep.

speaker-0 (03:17.518)
I know! Please, let's not even. I shared a picture of her, I was holding her for her fourth birthday. She was holding it with four fingers. Just the cutest little thing.

speaker-0 (03:30.176)
Our Closet Disco Queen podcast deals with legal adult cannabis use and is intended for entertainment purposes only for those 21 and older.

And I, of course, have not aged a bit, but holy moly.

speaker-1 (03:46.222)
The last 10 years have been pretty rough in terms of us.

speaker-0 (03:51.244)
I read an article that you do physically, there's this tremendous physical transformation in your early sixties. Yep. Like around 40. And then again, like tremendous, like not just how you look by your body. Yeah.

speaker-1 (04:05.942)
Everything.

goodness so much. think I was about 63 and all of a sudden I was like what and where did this come from? is that? and the wrinkles and you know the neck.

speaker-0 (04:21.101)
Well, I think as I mentioned when we were with Tanya, I mean, years, we beautiful skin. I mean, can't imagine 10 years is that, I mean, it's significant. It's obvious we are deprived. Hormonally deprived. We're shriveling up into little dust balls. Yep.

speaker-1 (04:27.257)
yeah, she's-

speaker-1 (04:38.19)
We're ...triveling up.

speaker-0 (04:46.018)
We gotta take some action here. I know you're seeing your person. I plan on having that conversation with my person. So, it's all good. be, you know, radiant. We'll be back on the horse. He won't recognize us at all. We will have no...

speaker-1 (04:55.246)
We're gonna be back on the horse.

Radiant Anubis

speaker-1 (05:05.932)
We won't have to pull our skin back like this.

speaker-0 (05:10.446)
That's too much. much, let's do this. Hello? No. You know what? I've always had maybe not as deep. You know, what are these called? Jowls?

speaker-1 (05:23.342)
I think that's puppet face, isn't it? What? It's like, yeah, think about a puppet where the lines are for their mouth.

speaker-0 (05:28.558)
Where's puppy face?

speaker-0 (05:34.094)
I know what a puppet is. I've never heard that before. Where did that come from?

speaker-1 (05:39.926)
I don't know. Somebody mentioned it one time. Puppet or, I forget who. Somebody mentioned it one time.

speaker-0 (05:48.28)
What are these? Is these? Well, I know this is these are gels. These are gels. These are these these laugh lines. I don't laugh.

speaker-1 (05:55.576)
These are.

speaker-0 (06:01.326)
I've realized I have a all the time. You have what? A resting bitch face all the time. That's my neutral face.

speaker-1 (06:09.526)
Your neutral face is bitch. I think so. I don't think.

speaker-0 (06:13.649)
Well, I look at myself when I'm editing the podcast and it's like, what is wrong with you? I just, I guess I'm not aminated. I'm not aminated. Well, so I think we had a lot. We had a great episode last week. My goodness. Did that just sorry you on a job?

speaker-1 (06:18.721)
Yeah.

No.

speaker-1 (06:27.372)
Yes we did.

No way I hit it with my arm. I'm not so coordinated. can't even move myself around my little studio here without creating a mess. yeah, our episode last week was excellent. I just really enjoyed talking to Tanya.

speaker-0 (06:48.354)
very enjoyable and I believe we're chatting about perhaps having her rejoin us at some point.

speaker-1 (06:55.202)
That would be wonderful. Yeah. We have a lot to learn from her. She's very wise. Yeah.

speaker-0 (06:59.118)
Yeah, Yeah, very wise beyond her years. That's for sure. She's crammed a lot into that life.

speaker-1 (07:07.148)
Yes, she has. Three husbands, six kids, many businesses.

speaker-0 (07:08.824)
She has, she's like...

speaker-0 (07:13.848)
Bam, sex every day. At least once. At least once every day. At least one orgasm a day. Every day. She's only missed five days in eight years.

speaker-1 (07:25.954)
She says, go grab those O's.

speaker-0 (07:27.98)
look at her skin. See she looks great.

speaker-1 (07:30.478)
It's beautiful. Anyhow.

Well, this will be interesting. We'll have to report.

speaker-0 (07:37.664)
for engines firing on all cylinders.

speaker-1 (07:41.634)
Huh? Huh? Yes.

speaker-0 (07:53.262)
I did 45 and something started sliding so fast My hormones packed a suitcase, didn't even tell my mom Now I've got a bullet in my face, two lines from nose to chin I look like I'm gonna be disappointed with my kin Give me back my

speaker-1 (08:11.168)
perpetually

speaker-0 (08:21.298)
I need some HRT daily,

speaker-0 (08:41.836)
You can earn these 50 years, not this melting candle frown that's sliding toward my ears

speaker-1 (08:57.934)
Breakfast lunch and resume

speaker-0 (09:00.302)
you

speaker-0 (09:18.574)
Back up

speaker-1 (09:53.9)
I have to admit when she mentioned psychedelics I got a little...

speaker-0 (09:59.543)
Yeah.

speaker-1 (09:59.874)
There's that stigma. There's still... Even with people who are weed people.

speaker-0 (10:03.01)
Yes, because...

speaker-0 (10:07.03)
Right, and I've never been exposed to or obviously have I tried psychedelics ever. I've never even been in the presence of said substances, so I am like so ignorant about that. ignorant. I knew someone who did mushrooms when

speaker-1 (10:27.498)
I know someone who grows them and does them, but Honey tried LSD back in his college days.

speaker-0 (10:34.656)
In college? Was it like, was he in a controlled set?

speaker-1 (10:38.542)
I know, right? Was you with people you could trust? All that stuff? Probably not. I don't know.

speaker-0 (10:45.378)
to guess. I'd say probably not.

speaker-1 (10:47.598)
It wasn't something he wanted to repeat, so something did not agree with him.

speaker-0 (10:52.29)
Well, and to make it clear though, what Tanya was referring to were very, very specific doses, micro doses of these substances. So she has tweaked her own dosages. She knows what her body responds to. She's used these substances before. And as she said, she knows how to dial them in and stack them. So she gets, she gets the sensations, the experience that she wants. She's able to dial in her

own pleasure.

speaker-1 (11:23.988)
And who wouldn't want to do that, right?

speaker-0 (11:26.446)
I to do that. I, you know, and I'm with you. When she said that it was like, and she also, when we spoke with her off, off tape, if you will, you know, she said something like, Oh, it'd be so much fun to, you know, I'm going to get you guys mushrooms. And, and I thought, are we going to do that? Or I don't know, which I don't know. See, I don't know.

speaker-1 (11:49.164)
Well, I'll tell you, I was thinking about it. was like, if not now, when? mean, is that something we want to experience? Is that something we want to experience in life? I mean, there are a lot of things I don't feel like I want to do or need to do, you know, rappelling off a mountain or, you know, bungee jumping, stuff like that. like, no, I don't, can go to my grave having not done that, you know, but. Correct. thought about psychedelics that way.

speaker-0 (11:56.044)
and song.

speaker-0 (12:16.846)
I have not either. You know, and you hear, you do hear people, you know, about, know this is much more, well, yes, we can.

speaker-1 (12:26.306)
Morning started my routine coffee's nice, but nicer with some Brownies in a tray but tenders what you had today what consumed today

speaker-0 (12:32.718)
dance.

speaker-0 (12:36.108)
skin.

Have you?

A gummy or a po-

speaker-1 (12:43.498)
in jay

speaker-1 (12:50.06)
today

speaker-0 (13:04.254)
TG, what have you consumed today? I've got consumed truth serum.

speaker-1 (13:09.742)
Apparently. I've consumed some serum of my own. I'm having a cup of tea again with Good Vibes Fast Acting Syrup. By Good Feels. it's a nice way to enter the morning, enter the day.

speaker-0 (13:24.566)
and try them more. you know what, for a moment, it's a weekend.

speaker-1 (13:26.478)
You should eat dough. I know it feels like Saturday, but we're doing this early. But yeah, I have this weird thing in my head that like I shouldn't do it in the morning. I don't know why. Well, like it's not a morning thing. It's a cause because usually people don't drink till afternoon. I think maybe that's where it comes from.

speaker-0 (13:45.742)
yes, well, there is.

speaker-1 (13:46.978)
We can do this any time of day.

speaker-0 (13:49.576)
any time of day my dear, any time of day. So don't limit yourself.

speaker-1 (13:55.864)
Where do these things come from? don't.

speaker-0 (13:57.922)
deep-seated beliefs that have been revealed in our heads for many, many, many years.

speaker-1 (14:04.664)
Well, you know, because we always had to be on as parents, you know, and as professionals, you know, it's like you can't, we're not anymore. We're not, mean, we're still parents, but we're not responsible for anyone except ourselves. And so we can do whatever the hell we want. I mean, I know you're responsible for your mom, but you know.

speaker-0 (14:20.536)
That's true. That's true.

speaker-0 (14:26.146)
I got phone calls yesterday. She missed the boss. The principal called me.

speaker-1 (14:30.734)
I do know that I haven't completely forgotten. But I think in that it's... Everyone is better off with you having some weed. Dealing with that whole situation. It's been a godsend.

speaker-0 (14:33.71)
Uh, if we send the driver.

speaker-0 (14:38.008)
You will.

speaker-0 (14:45.548)
You know what?

You're not wrong. Yes, the Lord provided us with this this natural plant. So yeah. That's OK. She couldn't find her keys.

speaker-1 (14:54.764)
Well, she wasn't ready. Doesn't she have one of those things that she wears on her wrist?

speaker-0 (15:01.248)
I don't know those disappear and reappear things go away and they come back go away and come back. Yeah, one day she's wearing the necklace lifeline the next day it's the wrist. don't know where the necklace went. I told you when we went to the hospital a cookie fell out of her sleeve.

It was wrapped up in a napkin in the ER. Now here she had IVs started, blood pressure monitoring. We get in the hospital, she goes, a cookie drops out.

speaker-1 (15:31.274)
You never know when you might need a cookie.

speaker-0 (15:33.262)
Well, she ate it right there. Did you really? hospital bed. Sure.

speaker-1 (15:36.994)
Yeah, good thing I have this.

speaker-0 (15:39.746)
That shows you how well she was examined too. She had a cookie in her sleeve. up her sleeve. Yeah, IV in the same arm. Yeah. Cookie comes flying out. no problem. Sometimes it's a rosary.

speaker-1 (15:42.039)
Yeah, well.

speaker-1 (15:48.856)
the same arm.

speaker-1 (15:54.978)
This is why it's good that you have some cannabis. Yes. In your life right now.

speaker-0 (16:00.27)
Yes, yes that's true and I am enjoying, let's see, I am also drinking a bevy. High sticks, 10 milligrams in my blue drink. It's flavorless.

speaker-1 (16:12.27)
Is that the, it comes with the swizzle stick or in the swizzle stick or no? this a different one?

speaker-0 (16:16.674)
This is the same. No, it's a different brand. I believe. So just little packets instead of the swizzle stick one.

speaker-1 (16:19.498)
Okay. Okay. Yeah, it looks different.

speaker-1 (16:26.314)
Okay, gotcha. So they're like Kool-Aid packets.

speaker-0 (16:29.89)
Yes, actually, yes they are. Exactly. and I also have some the pre ground cannabis, Sativa I was smoking last week. We'll see. We shall see.

speaker-1 (16:40.078)
All right.

speaker-0 (16:49.358)
BT tell me the news where is it legal

speaker-0 (17:01.934)
you

speaker-0 (17:07.054)
you

speaker-0 (17:30.318)
So Tee Tee, do you have a story for us this week?

speaker-1 (17:33.398)
I do have a story amidst all of the not great news. This is a kind of a positive one, I would say. think it's a fun one. marijuana use appears to be more of a green flag rather than a red flag for Americans who are dating according to a new poll. you know how people swipe for dating apps and well, apparently, and like, if you see this person is a smoker.

cigarette smoke or I don't want to be with that person because they're this or whatever, whatever the case may be. But Drug Rehab USA surveyed a thousand people with recent dating experience and they learned that just one in four respondents considered marijuana use our red flag in dating. About four and five people and seven in ten Gen Z adults don't mind if a partner consumes cannabis. Compared to marijuana significantly.

speaker-0 (18:28.299)
There you go. Yeah.

speaker-1 (18:32.611)
More respondents said smoking cigarettes is a red flag in dating.

speaker-0 (18:37.954)
Mm-hmm. Yeah, I wouldn't want I'd

speaker-1 (18:40.202)
Of course, high-risk illicit drug use is a big turn off, followed by misused prescription drugs. But the only substance that carried less of a stigma than marijuana was alcohol. People say that doesn't... Really? I know. That's not a red flag.

speaker-0 (18:59.5)
that you know, to your point, it is more socially acceptable to drink alcohol, but I would just think with the trends and Gen Z and think, well, I don't know a lot of people are choosing not to, more neutral than yay or nay. It's like they don't get

speaker-1 (19:08.951)
It's just it.

speaker-1 (19:15.63)
Yeah, yeah, I think that I think that people are like, it's not a red flag. It's not a deal breaker. It's like, yeah, it's like, okay, yeah, they, yeah. So they and this was they focused on relationship, romantic relationships, I should say. Obviously, when you talk about dating, that's what it's about. It's, you know, it's a good thing. It's a good thing. And you know what, it also speaks to how

speaker-0 (19:18.748)
It's not a deal break.

speaker-0 (19:27.808)
Interesting.

speaker-1 (19:45.302)
behind the times we are with our laws. So we gotta get back into this century. Although, you know, that doesn't seem like a likely thing in the next, I don't know, few years.

speaker-0 (20:00.846)
I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, it's just who knows

speaker-1 (20:07.48)
So just, you don't have to swipe somebody who says they smoke weed, because there's no reason to.

speaker-0 (20:12.152)
Well, it's not necessarily just that they smoke weed, have other ways to consume cancer.

speaker-1 (20:16.15)
or consumer.

speaker-0 (20:21.25)
Like you can rub it all over things. Right. And lick it off. We were instructed. Yes. Yeah. I would like to try that honey. Honey.

speaker-1 (20:24.142)
and lick it off.

Yes.

speaker-1 (20:31.338)
Yeah.

speaker-0 (20:33.326)
You should tell Honey about the honey.

speaker-1 (20:35.244)
I did, I did.

speaker-0 (20:37.014)
Well, cause honey's got bees.

speaker-1 (20:38.926)
Honey, he doesn't anymore. We don't have we don't have hives anymore. They kept dying It was too depressing

speaker-0 (20:47.914)
Any influence over some hives here where we can, you know, get some high honey them.

speaker-1 (20:54.338)
Hi, honey. Hi, honey.

speaker-0 (20:57.452)
Hi honey. Well I think that would be great hobby.

speaker-1 (20:59.854)
Yeah,

speaker-0 (21:02.388)
Beager bees, hemp, know, THC, whatever she was doing. Israel or something, wasn't it?

speaker-1 (21:09.858)
don't recall. Israel was know that when in the winter time, honey fed his bees, he made this concoction with sugar and something else. Vegetable oil? I don't know. And then made it into a big cube block or a block. Yeah, block. And then he put that in the hive. Because if you harvest all their honey, they might not have enough to last them through the winter because we've stolen their honey. So that's usually how they get through the winter is by...

consuming their honey. So what she's doing, I think, is using cannabis-infused stuff in her block.

speaker-0 (21:44.994)
stuff right to feed.

speaker-1 (21:47.135)
Yeah, to feed them. Yeah, I don't think it's that they're because they don't she said they're not attracted to the the buds themselves So they need to be

speaker-0 (21:53.976)
So they're not getting it from pollen or anything like that. Like you would for like clover honey or.

speaker-1 (22:00.714)
Right, right. Yeah, this they have to feed it to them for

speaker-0 (22:05.492)
feed your bees. Open their mouth right now.

speaker-1 (22:10.542)
you

speaker-0 (22:12.237)
poor little things. Whoa, so babies. Well, that's it. That was very interesting, Keep an eye on that, too.

speaker-1 (22:22.862)
I know that my kids and my kids are generation are they there in their 30s so later 30s.

speaker-0 (22:30.774)
Now, Gen X, who's Gen X?

speaker-1 (22:33.024)
I don't know. XYZ. don't know. We're just really clicking this morning. Anyway, they have a completely different viewpoint of cannabis than the one that we have. So even though they went through the whole dare thing, know, they're smart enough to realize that all drugs are not the same. yeah.

speaker-0 (22:55.832)
We were just browbeaten to death. Well, if you think about it, the sources of information that we were availed were limited, very limited. You had your school community, what your teachers taught you, what you saw on four channels of television, what you may read in a magazine or a newspaper, but this having 24 hour access to whatever information you desire, whenever you desire, just wasn't.

speaker-1 (23:22.542)
It wasn't a thing, right?

speaker-0 (23:25.223)
So we were told something repeatedly

Yeah, I mean

speaker-1 (23:32.81)
Especially if it was shoved down our throats, know, and television commercials.

speaker-0 (23:39.426)
Yeah, yeah. The war on drugs. Now, that's not to say that there aren't dangerous substances, we know. Exactly. There are substances that are bad, bad, bad substances.

speaker-1 (23:41.783)
Yes.

speaker-1 (23:50.858)
And frankly, I alcohol is one of them. I think, you know, if you're looking at the disruption to people's families, deaths, yeah. But, you know, anyway, but there are, yeah, it's important to know what you're doing, but this, this should not be, this beautiful drug that we partake of should not be in the same category as LSD and heroin. Well, even the psychedelics are getting more better understood.

speaker-0 (24:20.265)
Right.

speaker-1 (24:21.646)
Yeah, yeah, heroin. highly addictive substances. Yeah.

speaker-0 (24:29.858)
Yes, no, no, we're not talking about that. Alrighty. Yeah. Well, that's a little light at the end of the tunnel, maybe.

speaker-1 (24:51.63)

So Titi, are you ready to play everybody's favorite game? What coulda, shoulda, was it cannabis? Was it caca with a K? Was it real? Did it happen or did it not? Now, if you recall, we did not play last week because we had a special guest. the week prior, I believe Titi had continued her slide. No chief was split.

speaker-1 (26:34.952)
I believe that last week, I was split last week and the week before was zippity doo dah. So, see how I do this.

speaker-0 (26:41.922)
Zip-biddy-doo-dah as we do business. Let's see how she does this week. If you recall two situations, TT's got to decide, did these really happen? Are the cannabis adjacent? Did it really occur? Or is it kaka with a K? TT, are you ready? Any jitters because, you know, maybe your timing is off little bit now because we didn't play last week or...

speaker-1 (27:08.79)
No, I'm doing pretty okay with my good vibes here, so I'm not stressed out about it.

speaker-0 (27:14.126)
She's expressing some confidence here folks. Alright, so the first situation. Oops, here's TT here. I'm gonna bring you back. her back. Bring her back. There she is. Hi. You didn't know you were gone.

speaker-1 (27:29.312)
I wasn't. did.

speaker-0 (27:32.65)
OKTT situation number one. A headline reported. Mitch McConnell frolic in a field of cannabis during hemp legalization advocacy. Is that something that occurs?

speaker-1 (27:47.406)
That's something I'd to see. I think that was a, don't.

speaker-0 (27:51.181)
He won't be frolicking much longer. So is that indeed something that has occurred? That headline?

speaker-1 (28:03.746)
that there's someone made a commercial with Mitch McConnell frolicking in a field of cannabis, right?

speaker-0 (28:12.13)
Watch a headline reported, watch Mitch McConnell frolic in a field of cannabis during hemp legalization advocacy.

speaker-1 (28:22.154)
I would love to see that and I hope someone did but I can't imagine that it was something that he was aware of or behind. I could see AI creating something like that very easily and so I, you know what, I'm hoping that it is true so I can go out and find it and look for it. So I'm gonna say yes just because I hope it's true.

speaker-0 (28:45.422)
Wow, we just witnessed a total woo of reasoning. You hit every possibility. So TT believes in hopes. I hope that this indeed did occur. That there is evidence of Mitch McConnell folicing in a field of cannabis. Well, TT, you're going to be thrilled to know that yes, you can see footage of Mitch McConnell in a field of cannabis. He was a prime advocate for hemp.

Legalization so yes there were there were ads and promotions made featuring good old Mitch So yes, I will send you said links since express such a please Yes, this was this was back in the day

speaker-1 (29:23.318)
Alright!

speaker-1 (29:30.008)
do. Yes, I would like to see

I just see an emphralic would be a big big deal.

speaker-0 (29:37.87)
Well, I think frolic might be, you know, a little artistic license, you know, in the headline of the story. Leaping about. but you never know. But the headline is watch Mitch McConnell frolic in a field of cannabis. And the first line of the article is Mitch McConnell really loves hemp. So, you know.

speaker-1 (29:45.236)
being a frolicking tiger.

speaker-1 (30:02.446)
He must have a lot of hemp growers in his.

speaker-0 (30:06.126)
That that was a crop in Kentucky. So yeah.

speaker-1 (30:11.094)
So, okay, well that's one in the plus column for me. Yay.

speaker-0 (30:15.212)
Yeah, so, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, great, congrats. Situation number two. A homeowner, a homeowner's association in Texas tried to ban a resident's decorative hemp rope garden fence, citing drug policy. The resident had to present evidence that hemp rope had been used in maritime applications for centuries. Did this happen in a homeowner's association in the great state of Texas?

speaker-1 (30:44.174)
I am going to say yes only because I have participated on the board of a homeowners association and those people are nuts. mean, they're the people who complain to the homeowners association, I should say. Well, and the board itself. I'm just not made for that kind of stuff, but I was causing all kinds of trouble all the time. It's like, well, according to the bylaws, what do you the bylaws?

Nobody reads the Bible. So anyway, I'm thinking somebody got a hair up their ass about, and they heard it was hemp and didn't know that it's actually a very common substance and used for many things. So I'm going to say that's true. And we're talking about Texas. So yes.

speaker-0 (31:28.046)
T.T. does believe that there was an issue with a homeowners association in Texas with a resident using decorative hemp rope as a garden fence with people saying, is, we're gonna say no, no, because this is a violation of our drug policy. T.T. believes this indeed did happen because it is Texas, after all, and people in homeowners associations are usually assholes. Is that an accurate point?

speaker-1 (31:55.202)
That's pretty much what I said.

speaker-0 (31:58.422)
Okay. Well, TT, you have split the difference yet again. This indeed was kaka with a big K. As you noted, yes, this because of your, because of the typical behavior one associates with homeowners associations, one could reasonably assume that something like this.

speaker-1 (32:08.179)
I could see that happening.

speaker-1 (32:23.19)
Well, I'm glad you think it was reasonable to assume.

speaker-0 (32:26.35)
It was reasonable. I think that was a reasonable assumption. However, it did not happen.

speaker-1 (32:31.31)
Well, I'm still at 50%. Yes, ma'am. 50%. I'm OK. If you do this, you have an eyelash. Yes, you have to go and make a wish when you blow.

speaker-0 (32:47.768)
fucking eyelash out to blow on it. I'm gonna pluck all my eyelashes. I need some good luck.

speaker-1 (32:54.35)
I'm going to the casino.

speaker-0 (32:56.366)
I'm going to the casino, I need some fake l- fake lashes. Just pull one off and throw it. There you go. The whole thing. Have you ever worn fake eyelashes? Have you?

speaker-1 (33:05.856)
have either.

speaker-0 (33:07.842)
My girls have. Well yeah, when they've been in weddings, their own weddings, proms. yeah, they had the whole doodah. Maybe that's something we should do once. No, not the whole doodah. You're mad? Get the eyelashes and see if the men notice. We've got a list and it's getting long. Petty to profound. What feels so wrong? Sticky notes and men-

speaker-1 (33:16.478)
Okay. Eyelash. The whole doodah.

speaker-0 (33:37.246)

Cry for Hill to die on with Queenie and TT The bucket list lives on

speaker-0 (34:21.144)
So Titi, what is on our bucket list for today?

speaker-1 (34:28.525)
Today's fuck it list is fuck it to having unwritten rules about when I can and cannot do things like watch television. I have this weird, weird thing that somehow it's a bad thing. Somehow I'm being naughty if I watch television during the daytime, during the week, like Monday through Friday, during school or work hours, like.

that there should not be a television on. don't know. I don't know where this comes from. A lifetime of conditioning, I suppose. And then even on the weekends, the only time we watch anything is if it's a sporting event, you know, during the day. It's like, it's not like I would sit down and watch a movie at 2 p.m. on a Tuesday afternoon.

speaker-0 (35:16.238)
Well, now you wouldn't, is what you're saying.

speaker-1 (35:19.918)
Well, now I will because I said fuck it to those.

speaker-0 (35:22.382)
I hear-

speaker-0 (35:28.142)
So just so I understand you feel that this was this has been self-imposed however you you feel that there have been very strong messages sent by society or your family whatever the rules were that behavior sitting sitting around watching TV all day is somehow undesirable.

speaker-1 (35:48.214)
time you would ever do that is if you're really sick and you can't even hold up a book or something.

speaker-0 (35:55.33)
And you can't get out of bed, right?

speaker-1 (35:57.134)
Right. Yeah.

speaker-0 (35:59.384)
Yeah, you need some background noise for it.

speaker-1 (36:01.774)
Am I like the only one who feels that way?

speaker-0 (36:04.974)
I don't think so. I don't think so. think a lot of people, well, especially if you worked full time, it doesn't feel right. Just watching television during the day just didn't happen. Which is where it worked. Right. Just simple. It's that simple. Yeah. Now, I remember...

speaker-1 (36:23.84)
Everything is so accessible to everyone now that I don't think people think twice about it, you know, you just pull up whatever whenever, you know, but

speaker-0 (36:32.16)
yeah, because you can just click on anything at any time and see whatever you want. Right.

speaker-1 (36:36.622)
Whereas for some reason the old lineups in you know like okay on Mondays and Tuesdays.

speaker-0 (36:44.078)
To your point, then, historically, availability of the type of programming available during the day was targeted to a highly specific audience. game shows and soap operas.

speaker-1 (36:58.968)
So, operas was a big thing, yeah.

speaker-0 (37:01.422)
That was the fuel of daytime television until, I mean, now, as you said, you can watch anything you want whenever. back in the diamond from my mother, when she wasn't working, I wanted to watch her serials, which were, you know, the soaps. Right.

speaker-1 (37:19.756)
Right. Yeah. Well, my grandmother too. My grandmother had her stories. Watch my stories.

speaker-0 (37:24.802)
Her story is the end.

Secret storm. The edge. Wasn't there another one? edge of tomorrow.

speaker-1 (37:33.386)
The Age of Night was one and then... Yeah, like Sands Through the Hourglass. These are the days of our lives. that one. So, yeah, maybe the Guiding Light. But I actually, okay, we used to run home from school to watch. I have to say, watch Dark Shadows. And we did watch, before school, we watched The Good Ship Pop by News. We watched that Commander Ralph.

speaker-0 (37:35.508)
Edge of night.

speaker-0 (37:43.438)
I

speaker-0 (37:59.83)
Yes. That was considered educational. Correct. So, but somehow we got to see Pick A Show and Dialing For Dollars. Ralph Vardigan and whoever the chick was, Dialing For Dollars.

speaker-1 (38:04.492)
Right, Occasional TV.

speaker-1 (38:11.02)
Right. Yeah.

speaker-1 (38:19.374)
And then there was Betty George and Moo.

speaker-0 (38:20.96)
Betty George and Moo. saw an article recently about when they fired Betty George and Moo, or they fired Moo, they didn't want Moo anymore. then the big outcry. she said if Moo goes, I go or something. was back in the, I don't know, the eighties. yeah, the big, the big hoo-ha about Betty George and Moo. Well, so Betty, just to explain, just in case this does make it to the air, Betty George was a weather woman. I don't believe she was, wasn't she vaudevillian or radio star?

speaker-1 (38:50.574)
She was back in meteorology.

speaker-0 (38:52.428)
No, she wasn't a meteorologist, but she was a local personality. So she was on the radio or whatever. She had been a professional broadcaster in some way, shape or form. But she had this little dog, Moo, that she carried with her all over the place. Moo was on TV with her. And did Moo have a song or something? mean, it was a big deal. Betty, Georgian, they'd make appearances.

speaker-1 (39:20.244)
I remembered them, yeah, making appearances.

speaker-0 (39:23.21)
At Rice Chopper for example, Betty George and will be appearing. Big deal. So on the television station, I believe it was Channel 13, decided no more Moo, no more Betty George and Moo. were done for.

speaker-1 (39:34.093)
No more.

speaker-1 (39:39.118)
You know, there was a lot more going on locally at that time. Local shows and news were a big thing. had that one public channel that you could watch, you know, local productions and things on.

speaker-0 (39:47.906)
Yes, you have a pub-

speaker-0 (39:55.247)
That's right, that's right. Yeah, but you had the soaps primarily and yeah

speaker-1 (39:59.694)
pretty much. That was it. I still wake up every morning and say, I'm retired. I don't have to go anywhere. And I just, it's the best feeling. Yeah. So anyway, now I can say, I'm going to watch television at 2pm. If I feel like binge watching something on Netflix, I will.

speaker-0 (40:03.288)
So yeah.

Very timely.

speaker-0 (40:21.698)
That's right. That's right. So if anybody has anything to add to the bucket list, we're open for suggestions.

speaker-1 (40:27.823)
Yes, let us know what you're

speaker-0 (40:31.158)
Any questions for Tanya if you had something that you were interested in learning, let us know and we'll see if we can maybe make arrangements to have her join us again.

speaker-1 (40:43.67)

speaker-0 (40:47.406)
Sounds like a plan. Well everybody have a lovely, lovely week and we will be back with you next week.
