Dan (Wren):

Hi, I'm Dan. I am playing the mostly human, a little bit elf scholar and rogue Ren, who is always prepared with a quip.

Timothy (DM):

And always remembers their tune man.

Chris (Salvador):

Hi, I'm Chris. I'm playing the tiefling cleric who is regretting the day of her crossed, callista Emberfrost, salvador Salroz.

Russell (Upri):

Hi, I'm Russell.

Timothy (DM):

Yes, I remember.

Timothy (DM):

And I'm playing.

Russell (Upri):

Uppery Upperland always knows what's going on. Johannesburg, the half-orc, barbarian, Gorgeous.

Kai (Yonce):

And I am Kai and I'm playing the half-elf war lock, yonsei Bei, who is the literal definition of what happens to a dream deferred.

Timothy (DM):

Nice.

Kai (Yonce):

I prepared a quip. Ha ha gotcha all this time.

Timothy (DM):

As we immerse ourselves in the shadows of prophecy, be warned for this tale explores the darkest corners of the human soul and psyche, where the line between good and evil is blurred and unspeakable horrors linger in every shadow. Our story is not for the faint of heart, for it will not only bring us to mysterious lands but have us walk down treacherous paths with unforeseen dangers, as our heroes, who are not always virtuous, confront villains who are not always wicked. As the prophecy unfolds and the fate of the world hangs in the balance, only one thing is certain nothing is as it seems. So stay sharp, ready yourselves, and we just may make it through this together, as our heroes continue to pull back the veil. Shadows of Prophecy is a dungeon in dragons, actual playcast with violent themes and adult language. Listener discretion is advised. Join us today as we enter the shadows of prophecy, act 3, the Brink of Nothingness.

Timothy (DM):

Chapter 16, rumblings of Change. Previously, on Shadows of Prophecy, we delved once again into the enigmatic visions of our prophet Daphne. Following a discourse on the critical nature of decision making amid impending world-ending catastrophe, we discovered that glimpses of the future are far more nebulous than scrying into the present. A cryptic array of symbols hinted at arcane mechanisms linked to the alpha, omega, infinity, null, good and evil, leaving the party in suspense about their ultimate purpose. The subsequent day saw our adventurers navigating the intricate web of alliances within the underkeep. Their encounter at the Ascension Hall left a bitter aftertaste, as less than savory policies hindered fruitful discussions. On a more promising note, dealings with the Obscura presented subtler opportunities, culminating in a potential agreement. The Council of Mages, however, provided a clear directive to investigate the origin of the floating island quakes. This led the party to the Delve where they now stand, amidst the ancient runes of dwarven minds ready to unravel the mysteries that lie within.

Timothy (DM):

So, as you descend down the grand old chiseled stone steps of the dungeon into the darkness of the depths below, you eventually reach the bottom, which opens up into a medium-sized chamber about 20 feet wide by 20 feet in depth, an anti-chamber, so to speak. The stone carvings along the trim of the room are intricately designed, worn with millennia of age, and a faint metallic trim underlines the bottom. As you step into this room, I think we have some lights going, is that correct? Yep, I've got a torch. We've got a torch. It glistens. The light flickering on the walls and the faint shimmer of the metallic trim glints in the torchlight, and that is when you all hear a faint ringing and the air begins to compress. It starts to feel slightly heavy, pulling you towards the center of the room where, as you blink your eyes, you start to see the faint image of a chest appearing. As the ringing grows and eventually dissipates, the chest comes into full view With a clatter. It drops just an inch, smacking into the floor. What do you do.

Dan (Wren):

That's definitely a mimic, right For sure.

Chris (Salvador):

It visualized out of thin air. I don't know if mimics can do that it seems suspicious, no doubt.

Timothy (DM):

I would like to check for traps All right, give me an investigation. Yes, as long as I don't.

Dan (Wren):

You're in a dungeon, y'all. Oh, I rolled a nat 20, so that's a 33.

Timothy (DM):

All right. So as you inspect the area around the chest, there are no strings, no pressure plates. The ground is relatively undisturbed, except for the actual dropping of the chest in the center of the room. The chest itself does not seem to have any mechanisms on it, nor does it even have a lock.

Dan (Wren):

Ooh, I poke it with my dagger.

Timothy (DM):

You poke it with your dagger and it is made of wood.

Timothy (DM):

It sticks slightly into the wood of the chest, are we?

Russell (Upri):

in its open.

Timothy (DM):

No, it's closed, it's unlocked. It's unlocked.

Chris (Salvador):

There's no lock.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah.

Timothy (DM):

It's not.

Dan (Wren):

Beep boop. I'll peek inside All right the chest breaks open, I'll hold my breath.

Timothy (DM):

And I'll open to reveal several pieces of gear, with a note sitting on top oh, great, I have to read.

Kai (Yonce):

Good luck Sorry.

Dan (Wren):

In good faith as you mull over our discussion. A gift of a viper tells many lies. You should you accept cut off the head In good faith as you mull over our decision? A gift of a viper. Oh, this is from the Obscura right. That's my guess.

Chris (Salvador):

Probably, or somebody that knows that we're talking to both factions.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, as you read the letter, you glimpse inside the chest and notice an opaque blue shield that as you stare at it longer the opaqueness begins to fade into a translucent color. Next to it, a wand, twisted sinews wrapped around the shaft.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, I have things.

Timothy (DM):

A helm, oh, with a thunderbolt on the forehead, wow. That seems like it's for you A one stick at which a eyeglass is affixed to the end.

Dan (Wren):

There are just so many gifts.

Russell (Upri):

Wow, these people really move quick.

Timothy (DM):

These are for you, oh interesting, okay, a rod with two end pieces on it with sigils inscribed on either side oh, double-ended. And several scrolls.

Russell (Upri):

I mean, if it's not flared, don't lose it. Oh no, I don't think you want to put this in.

Kai (Yonce):

Oh, that's come on battlements.

Chris (Salvador):

Surprising that you were able to fit all this in this little chest.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, wait.

Chris (Salvador):

Are you reading the certificate that comes along with all these items?

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, oh, they have tags on them, yeah.

Timothy (DM):

They have little tags that describe the items.

Chris (Salvador):

I mean that's important, inspectioned by Inspection 43.

Dan (Wren):

Is there potentially a word written on the shield that I found? If so, what is it?

Timothy (DM):

Can you see it real quick.

Russell (Upri):

Is it an animated shield? Oh, oh, we're not supposed to know.

Dan (Wren):

Well, I don't know, it is, is it?

Kai (Yonce):

also Balenciaga.

Chris (Salvador):

Gucci brought it out.

Russell (Upri):

The real question is where are you going to un-attune now?

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, I only have one to tune, so I can tune. Oh yes, there is a word written on the inner lip at the top of the shield.

Russell (Upri):

Gucci.

Timothy (DM):

No, tina, yes, it's Tina, it's actually.

Dan (Wren):

Tel-Far, it's got like five eyes.

Timothy (DM):

Tel-Far, tel-far. Is it actually? What is it? It's Tina, okay, great.

Russell (Upri):

With five eyes.

Dan (Wren):

Tina.

Russell (Upri):

Balenciaga.

Kai (Yonce):

And Peggy oh wow, Is this the same.

Chris (Salvador):

Well, this is very peculiar because I had been eyeing some of these items in the shops.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, tina, and it, like floats, it starts to float around me.

Chris (Salvador):

Oh wow, How'd you know to do that?

Dan (Wren):

It says. It just says it on the top, so I was just reading.

Chris (Salvador):

I wonder if that was the person that owned it before.

Dan (Wren):

Maybe, what?

Russell (Upri):

what if its name is Tina?

Dan (Wren):

Well, thanks, Tina. This is just why it just yeah, the rest of you.

Timothy (DM):

as you see the shield begin to float in front of Ren, you as I described that opaqueness fading into a translucent blue color. You see a hand press into the surface of the shield. Ren doesn't see this.

Russell (Upri):

Ren, I think a dead person is holding that shield.

Dan (Wren):

What do you mean?

Chris (Salvador):

There's an invisible body hand there.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, is there. Can I see the other side of it? Can I like walk around Well?

Timothy (DM):

you do see. You see a hand press firmly, as if it was pressing up against a pane of glass.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, maybe it's just may change.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, like a may change.

Russell (Upri):

Maybe, maybe mechanically. That's how that shield works, yeah.

Timothy (DM):

Just a may change holding it for you.

Russell (Upri):

But like from the wrong side.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, maybe that's Tina. I'm going to call it Tina.

Kai (Yonce):

Another thing that requires attunement Yay, yeah, I don't know how many things.

Chris (Salvador):

It's the juggling, because these both require attunement as well, but we will be able to use them once we get a short rest.

Kai (Yonce):

Question oh right, I can't do it. Can you unattune something and then attune something like go back and forth?

Chris (Salvador):

It takes time.

Timothy (DM):

Yes, but it does take time to attune, so you have to take a rest with it.

Kai (Yonce):

Okay, this is going to be fun and I'm probably going to get it wrong.

Timothy (DM):

So when every time you have a rest, you can decide that you want to spend time with the item to like connect with the magic inside.

Kai (Yonce):

So therapy.

Russell (Upri):

Are those spell scrolls? Yeah, therapy.

Kai (Yonce):

These are spell scrolls, but this rod of absorption has, as it requires, attunement, and I already have three things that are attuned. So stay tuned, we'll see how this works.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, well, thanks, obscura, I guess, yeah.

Chris (Salvador):

I'm going to go around for hidden cameras. Is there an exit to this room that we see?

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, so this anti chamber opens up with. There are three archways, to the left, forward and to the right that lead down into hallways. You can, from where you stand, you can see that the hallway leading on. Actually, those of you with dark vision can see that there are bars at the end of the hallway, like prison bars.

Russell (Upri):

Thank you for player fun.

Timothy (DM):

But behind it there are these metallic structures, figures like shielded armor sets.

Timothy (DM):

Like boop pops or like what.

Timothy (DM):

Did you just say.

Timothy (DM):

Just get out of here now, please continue.

Russell (Upri):

We're like boop pops, you know like lockers.

Chris (Salvador):

I'm really curious.

Dan (Wren):

I don't know what a boop pop is.

Russell (Upri):

I'm trying to say robots, oh gotcha.

Kai (Yonce):

I understood it.

Chris (Salvador):

Robots behind bars.

Timothy (DM):

Oh my God, Kind of. Yeah, they look like armor sets, but they're a little bit more imposing than like a regular human.

Russell (Upri):

And they're like on mannequins, like are they're on things.

Timothy (DM):

Potentially.

Chris (Salvador):

I'm going to cast Detect Magic yeah.

Timothy (DM):

How far is it?

Chris (Salvador):

I think it's a 30 foot range, or maybe it might be more.

Dan (Wren):

Okay, you can maintain it for a little bit.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, I can maintain it for 10 minutes Okay.

Timothy (DM):

All right. So from where you are In the center of the room, in the center of the room, the 20 by 20 foot room with the hallway leading down into the other room, you don't get a ping of magic quite yet. Okay, you're not 30 feet from those. If that's what you're trying to do.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, I'm going to walk up to them and try to see if they're magical.

Russell (Upri):

So, as I will follow sail closely, yes, I think we all do.

Timothy (DM):

I'll be in the back to walk up into the room. So you pass the two hallways on your right. You see that the hallway branches off yet again to the right and to the left, to the left hallway. You see that it turns off to the left. So I highly recommend a piece of paper if you don't have it, just to keep. We're doing a dungeon, so there's going to be a little bit of navigation.

Kai (Yonce):

Right Like a dungeon dragon yeah.

Timothy (DM):

Which the reason I have not done too many dungeons is because of really hard and audio format.

Dan (Wren):

That's fair.

Russell (Upri):

But what you do is you put your right hand on the wall and then on the right wall, and then you just go.

Timothy (DM):

Well, you are ignoring that advice because you're walking forward.

Chris (Salvador):

Well, we haven't left the first room yet, so we can do the wall thing whenever we leave the door, so I would just quote in our friend Go underneath the archway into the next room.

Timothy (DM):

You see, you are leaving this anti-chamber under the archway into the another room, this one's much larger, and along both sidewalls and the far wall you now see that they're lined with these cages, with these different figures, shielded, holding swords, wearing clad in armor, tall about seven feet wide, heavy imposing.

Kai (Yonce):

Oh are they single.

Dan (Wren):

So they're not just armor, there are people in the armor.

Timothy (DM):

Not people, but they do seem to be all cohesive and as you are stepping into this room, you get about. You get 30 feet away from the first and you do start to get a ping of magic.

Kai (Yonce):

Okay, this is where do you feel it?

Timothy (DM):

Give me an arcana role.

Chris (Salvador):

Okay, oh, real quick.

Russell (Upri):

Does anyone have an extra writing implementation?

Dan (Wren):

Where does? Do I have an extra one?

Chris (Salvador):

That's an 18.

Russell (Upri):

My maca dried.

Timothy (DM):

So with an 18, you can pretty much come to the conclusion that this is a construct of sorts. It's animated by the arcane.

Chris (Salvador):

So this is like their security system along abandoned warven attack dog and armor. Okay.

Russell (Upri):

Can you tell what triggers it?

Chris (Salvador):

I think that's identify. I think detectives gives me the school of magic that it is Up, read just goes.

Russell (Upri):

Tina.

Kai (Yonce):

That's not for you.

Chris (Salvador):

So is there a school of magic on these constructs?

Timothy (DM):

Constructs would be is. I think that's enchantment? Yeah, probably. I think constructs are in. I never remember all the schools of magic until I'm looking at them. Yeah, enchantment, okay.

Chris (Salvador):

And are they locked up? They're behind bars, like the other ones that we saw.

Timothy (DM):

Well, as you're looking at the cages, they don't look like they are. They looked like prison cells from a distance, yeah, but now there's no locks on them. They're just like barred doors, gotcha.

Dan (Wren):

They could absolutely just open.

Timothy (DM):

You notice that there is a mechanism on the door, but not lock.

Dan (Wren):

Gotcha, can I check for like traps, like pressure plates, something that?

Timothy (DM):

would activate. Yeah, gives me an investigation.

Dan (Wren):

Sure, that's a 25.

Timothy (DM):

Okay. So as you are walking closer close enough to this room, you haven't entered the room yet. The door is like okay, those are constructs, the magic is still alive. Ren jumps in, starts investigating the floor for pressure plates. And right at the opening of the room or the entrance of the room. Threshold that's the word threshold of the room. You do notice that the stone is raised just slightly.

Timothy (DM):

It has some intricate design on it to potentially look like a decorative threshold but, you suspect that this is a pressure plate, and you do notice one at the other end of the room as well, okay, I'm going to do not step on this stone.

Dan (Wren):

As you can see, it's partially.

Russell (Upri):

Which one?

Dan (Wren):

This one Do.

Russell (Upri):

I have a real perception to see it.

Timothy (DM):

No.

Chris (Salvador):

No it's a point to the view. Wow, everyone is at a really point to the view.

Timothy (DM):

Yes, you can if you want to Wow, I intentionally fail.

Chris (Salvador):

Upper E is really gunning for some battles to win.

Russell (Upri):

Listen my passive is 15. Do I see it? That's really high. That's better than mine. That's better than mine.

Dan (Wren):

Mine is your passive so high.

Russell (Upri):

I'm proficient in perception, oh nice.

Dan (Wren):

Oh wait, then mine is, that's wild.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, your passive is 21,. Ren, is it? Yes, I don't know why mine says 11 over here.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, because I'm observant.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah.

Dan (Wren):

I'm not. That's wrong, that's just incorrect.

Chris (Salvador):

What are your perceptions? Plus eight, you're regular yeah.

Dan (Wren):

Anyways, so sorry, don't step on this one. There's another one on the other side of the room and I will scan along as we go through just to make sure there are no ones.

Kai (Yonce):

Do you have a magnifying glass?

Dan (Wren):

You probably.

Russell (Upri):

I'm just saying Just you have to pull out a magnifying glass. Actually.

Chris (Salvador):

I got a magnifying glass in my.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, one of you did actually just get a magnifying glass. It's more of like a.

Chris (Salvador):

It's more like a lunette, or like a seeing, like a monocle on a stick but nerd. It allows me to see through illusions. Oh, but not yet. We have to take a nap first. Yeah, so I was going to delicately hop over the threshold and enter the room.

Timothy (DM):

All right, yes, so you enter this room and you see there's there's a good number of these. There's nine in total along the two sides of the rooms in the back. There is a break. At the far end of the room to the right, okay, where it is a bare wall.

Russell (Upri):

Is it furry? There's no other doors into the arm room.

Timothy (DM):

There doesn't appear to be any other doors.

Kai (Yonce):

This session is chaotic right now, and I love it.

Timothy (DM):

You see the nine cages, or display.

Russell (Upri):

Oh display.

Timothy (DM):

Of these constructs, each one of them and a design of its own. Oh so they're not uniform. There's like a variety.

Russell (Upri):

We'll go down the line. Constructs, I'm just kidding.

Timothy (DM):

This one's tall, this one's 40.

Dan (Wren):

60 something of them Right.

Russell (Upri):

I would like an individual description. Are any of them made of goat?

Timothy (DM):

You see various weapons. You see some of them are holding very like bulwark shields. Some of them have smaller shields. One of them is very like slender, another is like very like robust. So each one of them is their own design and they're all very intricately like engraved and chiseled and worked. They're each like a piece of art Interesting.

Russell (Upri):

But what are the long and is coming from this room?

Timothy (DM):

None of the what the long and.

Kai (Yonce):

Noggin Well again.

Chris (Salvador):

well, yeah, wasn't it like there's a ringing or humming along in your word choices today 20 20.

Timothy (DM):

So the like hum was usually accompanied with the rumbling, but as you rumbling that's what I wanted. Yeah, as you're listening, you do hear a very faint mechanical, worrying and directionally. So you walked into this room Directionally. It kind of sounds like it's coming from the right.

Russell (Upri):

The blank spot like the bare wall.

Timothy (DM):

I mean just in general to the right, so like it's very, very faint.

Russell (Upri):

But there are any cages there, right, where is there?

Timothy (DM):

is a blank spot on the wall on the far, far end. Yes to the right.

Russell (Upri):

I'm going to go up to it and start feeling the wall Right. Yeah, I hear. I hear a worrying thing behind this wall, Like a like a tick tock investigation. Oh no, is that intelligence?

Dan (Wren):

Can I help? Can I assist? Yeah, I can investigate, you can add 13 to your role.

Timothy (DM):

So 12 natural 20 threshold.

Russell (Upri):

That's a 32 for up for you to investigate this wall. Are you going to add 20?

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, I add 13 to that 33 minus one, oh, minus one.

Russell (Upri):

So right is like it's that one.

Timothy (DM):

Push that block. One of you is able to feel that where the stones are meeting that there is a bit of a groove, so the the grout in between the stones is chipped away. There's a slight like crack in between all the stones and upry, as you're kind of like feeling the wall, you notice quite low, like at your knee level, there is.

Russell (Upri):

So I like four feet.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, I like four feet. There's a little button, that's a tiny little button.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, I hear it with my knee.

Timothy (DM):

All right. As you smack the button with your knee, the wall begins to rumble. You hear a mechanism behind the wall clicking and then the stone begins to shift.

Kai (Yonce):

Look what I found on my own. This is giving some legends of the hidden temple type shit.

Timothy (DM):

Revealing a very narrow hallway leading to another room.

Russell (Upri):

Does this look safe?

Dan (Wren):

Let me check. I'm going to continue, I'm going to. Can I do something that I've never done before? That I do have an ability for. It's called sage advice, and I can instruct everyone in the room how to do one of the skills that I'm proficient in. So I'm going to like to do investigation and your next investigation, check. For the next hour. You add your proficiency bonus to, so, in case you know you're off doing what that is. Yeah.

Timothy (DM):

So you just like just look for raised.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah.

Russell (Upri):

If you like, a raised stone like make sure to check your like foot space and your head space.

Timothy (DM):

If there's holes in the walls, be wary of those, especially if they're really regular looking.

Dan (Wren):

The best way to see a trip wire is to just angle your head a little bit and try and catch the light.

Russell (Upri):

Well, I got a five, so I just go. Do you know, ruto Ron, I'll clear. No, I'm just going to start walking down. I imagine it like. Is it short? Do I have to like hunch over to fit through the hallway?

Timothy (DM):

or is it just narrow? It's narrow, yeah, yeah, like I mean it's a short, narrow hallway, like it's not like it.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, I'm like picturing like inside the walls of like a building. I've been watching a lot of holy murders.

Timothy (DM):

No, no, no, it's like a regular I mean narrow is in like four feet wide.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, okay, I'll be able to go forward. I just go forward, yeah.

Timothy (DM):

It quickly opens up into another room where, to the left, you see a pile of rubble, wood and books. They look decayed, molds taken over, everything's kind of crumpled and fallen apart Because Wren's torch hits the walls. You do notice there is a sheen, especially in the corner where all the books are, to the left.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, I think this room is slimy.

Dan (Wren):

That's an astute observation, you hear the sound of the dripping. No, that was true.

Timothy (DM):

From the ceiling and as you look down on the floor you see a small puddle, kind of yellowy green like mold or moss.

Russell (Upri):

Or like lemon lime jello.

Dan (Wren):

One might say, ochre Begun to grow the color Okra.

Timothy (DM):

no-transcript.

Russell (Upri):

Wait, that's pronounced ochre.

Dan (Wren):

Ochre.

Chris (Salvador):

OK, R-E yeah.

Russell (Upri):

Fucking lame. Sorry, no, not like the vegetable, not like the vegetable.

Chris (Salvador):

There's nobody.

Dan (Wren):

Like O-U-C-H-R-E, o-c-h-e-r, oh, o-c-h-e-r-e.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, ochre.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, the vegetable is okra.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, ok.

Kai (Yonce):

So are we trying to avoid this liquid?

Chris (Salvador):

I think it's not. The vegetable is dangerous. Mold can give you some nasty diseases.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, I would like to do two things, if that's ok, and that's anybody who wants to mostly do something in the meantime. But I'd first like to look at the books and see if I can like glean anything from what the books are. Why are they here? Are they just like dwarven texts?

Russell (Upri):

that we're in. Yeah, what is this room and why is? It hidden yeah.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah. So, ryan, you walk over into the room and you Look for traps. I'm only yeah. You step around the puddle and you start to sift through the books. They're musty. There's this like really I mean millennia has passed, I've got a cloth over my face.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, um, they break apart a little bit as you pick them up. The pages are damp and clumped together. The leather has been eaten away over the years and a lot of what still exists and persisted over time are the like corners, the little metal corner protectors on some of the larger tomes. I'm gonna need you to roll initiative as you hear a sizzle.

Russell (Upri):

I think you drop.

Timothy (DM):

I feel like is it a hidden smut room?

Dan (Wren):

You're sholdered Gotcha.

Kai (Yonce):

I got a 16.

Dan (Wren):

Because of Daphne's Spidey senses, which I, I guess, took from her, copied from her. Yes, I can't be surprised, and I do have advantage on initiative. You have to be surprised.

Timothy (DM):

You cannot be surprised I also have advantage on initiative.

Dan (Wren):

But I rolled two, twos. Oh, I rolled a dirty 20.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, so I'm gonna do some rolling, so hold on to those numbers for just a moment while I roll.

Kai (Yonce):

To the viewers at home. How are you doing today?

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, how is everyone?

Kai (Yonce):

The secret word is shake the tail feather. If you type it in the chat, Timothy will send you $20 via Zell.

Dan (Wren):

Nope, you should still put it in the chat. Sorry, venmo.

Russell (Upri):

Sorry, yeah, we don't stand Bank of America at this table.

Dan (Wren):

Isn't it, chase? I thought Zell was Bank of America.

Chris (Salvador):

I think it's a general. You can use it with any bank. For most banks you can use it.

Dan (Wren):

I thought I was specifically a Chase thing.

Chris (Salvador):

Because PNC has it as well, and that's a.

Kai (Yonce):

Eventually I will need to PNC P. I have to P eventually. I don't know, I'm drinking a lot of liquids today.

Timothy (DM):

All right, so let me get those initiatives.

Kai (Yonce):

I got a 16. A 16.

Timothy (DM):

Right Three, Right One baby. I'm not.

Chris (Salvador):

This is 20. All right, and I'm not sure, I'm not sure, I'm not sure, I'm not sure.

Timothy (DM):

All right and All right. Cool, cool, cool. So we are good to go. So you cannot be surprised, ren, you did get highest initiative. So as you hear the sizzling on your shoulder and you feel it make impact with your shoulder pad or your cape, I guess.

Dan (Wren):

My cloak, burning my cloak. I'm not patched.

Timothy (DM):

You notice that it does.

Timothy (DM):

yes, it starts to burn away just slightly and you look up to see that the ceiling is covered in black and yellow goo that is starting to drip down in the corner of the room. What do?

Dan (Wren):

you do. Can I spot a creature that is creating the drip itch?

Timothy (DM):

Do you notice that there are about nine amalgamations of ooze collecting on the ceiling I have?

Russell (Upri):

an ooze yeah, but what flavor do they look like?

Dan (Wren):

Okay, chicken soup Nine. Any of them look particularly leader-like. Is there like a? Are they all the same?

Timothy (DM):

It's goo, it's bigger.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, how many leaders are there?

Chris (Salvador):

Two, three leaders. You just eat nine of them.

Timothy (DM):

Starting to drip down from the ceiling.

Dan (Wren):

Okay, balenciaga and my rapier pulls itself out of its scabbard. Oh, it just flies out and I don't know, I feel like it just darts, shoots a dart directly at one of the goos. So I will be attacking the closest one to me with my animated sword, my dancing sword. Dancing sword. That is a oh. First I analyze it, hello, well, Wait, no, I can't no. Why? Because it's my bonus action to analyze.

Timothy (DM):

So I can't call my sword and analyze on the same parent.

Dan (Wren):

That's okay. It is a 19 to hit.

Russell (Upri):

You need it.

Timothy (DM):

A 19 will hit Okay.

Dan (Wren):

Are they surprised?

Timothy (DM):

No, Okay, do you want to go after the black ooze or the yellow ooze? African American.

Dan (Wren):

I will go after the yellow ooze.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, so roll for damage.

Dan (Wren):

Okay, let's see, because I was able to roll with advantage, because I used a sacinate, because I just get a damage before, thank you get it.

Russell (Upri):

I explain perfectly, totally, get it.

Dan (Wren):

I'm so good and I will while I'm here. No, I won't do that, I'll just roll my normal damage. That is six, eight, that is, oh God.

Kai (Yonce):

That was Jiminy Freya.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, it's 12. Jiminy Charker 12 piercing damage 12 piercing, oh nice. Okay, cool, and then I will just detect Is the ceiling short enough that I can slash at it, or do I need to shoot it?

Timothy (DM):

It's short enough that you can slash at it Okay. I'm going to slash at it. It's like an eight foot ceiling.

Dan (Wren):

I'll use my glass. I'll use my glass Like a normal ceiling.

Russell (Upri):

My glass sword, so I'm eye level with the oozes. Great, that is a. What is that? That is?

Dan (Wren):

a 24 to hit A. 24 to hit my short sword. Yeah, oh, and I don't use when I don't analyze it. I don't do actually a lot of damage. That is nine slashing damage.

Russell (Upri):

It's still pretty good for a DC. That's true.

Timothy (DM):

You start slashing through. This yellow ooze is starting to just like splatter across the room.

Russell (Upri):

Does it burn where it's splattering?

Timothy (DM):

And oh, that's a fun. So, as you slash through it, this is what happens.

Russell (Upri):

Alright, people in Ciega. Just kidding, can you?

Chris (Salvador):

imagine To melt a sword he just gave you.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, that tracks actually.

Timothy (DM):

So as you slash through the yellow like amalgamating drop of ooze from the ceiling, your sword slices through it and flings a chunk of it at the wall, which begins to ripple and then you see, like a pseudopod start to press out of it as well as the one in the ceiling also starts to reach out towards you. I hate it.

Russell (Upri):

It's like a Hydra, but an ooze, an ooze draw.

Dan (Wren):

Ooze draw. I need to analyze this thing. I should have done that to start my bad. Go ahead, alright.

Timothy (DM):

The rest of you are all surprised. So this is the surprise round. So we're just going to have all of the oozes start to move, so the ceiling starts to come alive.

Kai (Yonce):

Wait, pause, yeah, wait. So we see Ren do all that and we're still surprised.

Chris (Salvador):

We were surprised that Ren did this yeah.

Kai (Yonce):

I just imagine Ren is doing all this and then they start attacking. We're like wait what? Yeah?

Russell (Upri):

I imagine we see Ren attacking things before we see what Ren is actually attacking.

Kai (Yonce):

My imagination is far too wild today.

Dan (Wren):

I don't got magic, but I get at. Looking at things.

Timothy (DM):

While it takes Dan a while to describe what they're doing, it's like half a second in real time. Wow, that felt like a read. No, that's just how D&D works. Yeah, entire round is six seconds, so you all are taking a little bit of time, as you're about to just get attacked by a lot of things. So the ceiling comes alive and it starts rippling. You see, these pseudopod start to reach out at each of you and I'm just going to do a bunch of rolls. Good luck, oh wait. I have a thing, Sorry.

Timothy (DM):

What's your thing. I can't be surprised either, because barbarians have feral instincts. Okay, whoa Sorry.

Kai (Yonce):

I'm sorry because I don't want to be.

Timothy (DM):

That's not how that works. Damn. Only the world works that way, sorry.

Russell (Upri):

I realized that way too late. It just never. It's never happened before Gorgeous I would like to not be depressed.

Dan (Wren):

Thanks, I've decided I'm not Okay.

Timothy (DM):

So you'll be able to act in that surprise round as well.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, an initiative three, so they probably still go first. They still go before you. Yes, they do.

Timothy (DM):

All right. So let's do some attacks and let's spread the love as much as possible, but tell me how you are all situated before I do this.

Kai (Yonce):

I'm behind everyone.

Timothy (DM):

Clearly just in the middle of the room.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, You're in the corner. You're in the corner of the room.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, you're in the corner of the room Off to the left.

Timothy (DM):

So there's this like pile of rubble. The room exits off to the right. Okay, so I cross over to the right of the room. The room goes down into another hallway.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, okay. Actually if they hit me.

Kai (Yonce):

I'm ready for them All, right Cool.

Russell (Upri):

I'm standing in the middle of the room doing a dad teapot pose while I oversee everyone doing other things.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, you're just like watching Ren, because Ren went over to go look at books. You're just like I don't fucking care about books. Yeah, I was with a upbringing as well.

Russell (Upri):

Okay.

Timothy (DM):

So the two of you are in the middle of the room. What is Yancei doing? Well, Ren was going to go look at books.

Kai (Yonce):

I was in the back being like wow.

Timothy (DM):

So have you entered the room really?

Kai (Yonce):

I've entered the room, but I am behind anywhere.

Timothy (DM):

I could be damaged the opening.

Kai (Yonce):

I'm in the opening, but I can't be damaged because I'm not surprised. That's how this world works.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, I choose to not get attacked today, gorgeous, but because the three of you are the ones that are closer to these, because they're like in the corner.

Russell (Upri):

They've been feeding off of the books. Oh, eating the cellulose. So I'm right in front of them. Yeah, you're in the depths. I'm going to take the brunt of this.

Dan (Wren):

So let's have some.

Timothy (DM):

Okra Jellies try to whack.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah.

Timothy (DM):

Now there are eight of them. Oh my God, wait, I thought there were nine so there's eight Okra Jellies and two black puddings Interesting, I mean they're called black puddings.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, that's fun.

Kai (Yonce):

I mean the Indian.

Russell (Upri):

I appreciate that.

Kai (Yonce):

Do they look like they're chocolate?

Russell (Upri):

flavored it's chocolate.

Timothy (DM):

It's chocolate in the blood.

Timothy (DM):

It kind of looks like an oil spill. Yeah, that's why it was like the room was all kind of glistening yeah. Oh, because it kind of looks like an oil spill. Yeah, okay, so we'll start with Ren. Yes, and I will do. I will do like yeah that seems right. That seems right. I'm just splitting them up in my head a little bit.

Kai (Yonce):

I don't want them to hit me. I like to find out.

Timothy (DM):

They'll dissolve your weapons. I ain't got weapons.

Russell (Upri):

My weapons are the hands, the first one that's going to attack Ren. I haven't used this in a while, but you just see Marynette strings up here and I'm going to pull on the ooze so it rolls to disadvantage.

Timothy (DM):

So you see it snap back into the ceiling. Oh, as it was attempting to.

Russell (Upri):

Okay.

Timothy (DM):

I mean it just like it's goo.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah.

Timothy (DM):

It was like going to slap Ren and you like pull this Marynette string and you just see the like blob arm just back into the ceiling and then the next one is going to go to attack Ren. A 20 will hit you, as that one will not and number four will also not. You're only taking one hit from solid.

Dan (Wren):

That was a dirty 20 and not a nat 20, right, based on the way you said it, it's not a crit, oh shoot, it was a nat 20.

Kai (Yonce):

Suspicious no you mentioned it.

Timothy (DM):

Yes, I do double damage oh no, no, no, Sorry, no, I did my math wrong. Or I did math and then forgot that I did math. It was a dirty 20.

Dan (Wren):

Okay, that's fine, that's fine.

Timothy (DM):

So you're going to take some bludgeoning damage. It's too dice, nine bludgeoning damage plus.

Russell (Upri):

Oh massive.

Timothy (DM):

Massive damage Fuck.

Dan (Wren):

So that's 15 in total.

Timothy (DM):

Sure.

Russell (Upri):

Yes, 14. Nine plus six, 15.

Kai (Yonce):

You're an accountant Math, math, math. I predict, so yeah.

Timothy (DM):

So then we are on to. Salvador, salvador, you're going to. 15 plus four is 19.

Chris (Salvador):

That hits.

Timothy (DM):

That will hit you. The second one will not hit you. So, salvador, you are going to get slapped by eight bludgeoning plus six acid.

Chris (Salvador):

Nice 14.

Timothy (DM):

Upraise hey, that's a crit on Upraise, yeah 16. Huh, what A crit on the first one. 16 on the second one.

Russell (Upri):

They both hit.

Timothy (DM):

All right, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous gorgeous Gorgeous coils. So we've got. I need more D6s, but that's what I'm doing, so I'm going to get a six, ten plus here. Five is 15 plus two 17 bludgeoning damage Plus seven acid damage. I'm not you. How much bludgeoning Wait sorry 17 bludgeoning, plus seven acid 24.

Russell (Upri):

You don't have your resistances yet, because you are not raging yet. Well, jokes on you, because I'm still above 100.

Timothy (DM):

So that is all of the ochre jellies, and then we have two black puddings.

Timothy (DM):

They're going to attack me. One of them is going to attack Salvador.

Timothy (DM):

It's black on black violence, Lisa and.

Kai (Yonce):

Yikes 11. Nope.

Timothy (DM):

That was a nine plus five is 14. Still does not hit Nope. And then the other one will go to attack.

Timothy (DM):

Yonsei because these ones are further Told you, Told you Well all the ochre ones are in the corner, and the black puddings are in the center of the room so they can reach you.

Timothy (DM):

Their names are Gerald and James. It does not hit. As it happens, I raise up the fist. You're like thank you, brother, I love making people uncomfortable, all right.

Kai (Yonce):

So you have all of these amorphous blob arms smacking trying to smack you.

Timothy (DM):

You see, like you know, like you're trying to make people laugh, but you're not, you're not, you're just like, I'm like what's up, I'm like what's up, what's up, I'm like what's up, thank you. You see, like one of them like throws itself onto the floor and just kind of like ripples a little bit, it's jelly body is just kind of like what's a word.

Timothy (DM):

Warbily, warbily, yeah, warbily, across the floor Jelly.

Timothy (DM):

Trying to surround you all and consume you, swallowing me, swallowing me. The last one in the surprise round before we start initiative order.

Russell (Upri):

So how many are next to me?

Timothy (DM):

They were two that attacked you.

Russell (Upri):

All right, and then Sal is next to me. Yep, I'm going to rage, I don't have a DE.

Dan (Wren):

You need a DE, no. I have them, I don't.

Russell (Upri):

But two, I don't roll two yet when the heck is? My Sorry.

Kai (Yonce):

Someone commented put salt.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, oh my god, that's a great idea.

Timothy (DM):

Did you all buy salt while?

Russell (Upri):

you were shopping.

Timothy (DM):

I have a seasoning packet. I was yes. Unfortunately, it's cinnamon.

Kai (Yonce):

It's sesame, so it's spicy.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, well, you could try adding that to the mix and see if it has an effect.

Kai (Yonce):

I have such a funny story about Wayne till after we're out of battle.

Russell (Upri):

So Uppery yells and then magically teleports to a corner of the room, away from stuff, and goes fuck and then runs back.

Timothy (DM):

He's surprising from behind, and then we're swinging at the ooze.

Russell (Upri):

that whopped me. All right, that is a nine plus 13.

Chris (Salvador):

22 to hit? Are these your new flaming sword, your new tree sword?

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, I'm strong now.

Timothy (DM):

My strength is 25 now, oh yeah.

Russell (Upri):

Okay.

Timothy (DM):

So nine plus 13. That will definitely hit. Perfect, that's 11 plus nine.

Russell (Upri):

That's going to be 20 slashing damage for the first shot Okay, 20 slashing damage. And then I'm going to reckless the tiak on the tiakon.

Timothy (DM):

So as you slash through it it splits in two. Fuck, I forgot. You see that it kind of like you cut through and the two halves of it should like pull apart and kind of warble a bit as they start to move towards you 26 to hit one of the ones that split into as I go, what's happening?

Russell (Upri):

That will also hit.

Timothy (DM):

Less damage, that's going to be 14 slashing damage. 14 slashing damage.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, add an additional six because I forgot. I had plus three per hit for raging, so six total that extra three to each.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, three to each.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, okay, okay, I'll just update my math real quick.

Russell (Upri):

Sorry, that's okay, no.

Timothy (DM):

So then this one was 13, is what you're saying.

Timothy (DM):

Yes, cool Cool.

Timothy (DM):

Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool Cool.

Russell (Upri):

Cool.

Timothy (DM):

So these are the ochre ones. All right, my upper brain, I think I'm making it. It works, bringing us up to the top of the order. Now we actually start initiative. That was just a surprise around. He had it.

Dan (Wren):

It's just like the ceiling just falls on you all and splits off and does all these wild things Ren. What would you like to do? Rip your this turn. It's fun fact that all these things that I now have are bonus actions.

Russell (Upri):

Action economy. I know it's rough.

Dan (Wren):

Maybe I'll find an item that lets me have an extra bonus action.

Chris (Salvador):

Maybe you did. You have to take up a level on fighter I just gave you a horde of items.

Dan (Wren):

And I will. I'll attack. I was gonna take on a. Oh, or do I want to? I'm gonna meld form with an. Okay, cool, is it appropriate to meld form with a black pudding?

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, but once you meld form with a black pudding you won't know what they have we as shadows a property don't endorse?

Timothy (DM):

this. I would like to go.

Kai (Yonce):

Yonsei disengages and walks out the room.

Chris (Salvador):

They leave the consciousness.

Timothy (DM):

Sending an email to our EVIA office.

Timothy (DM):

You are surrounded by ochre jelly.

Dan (Wren):

Yes, I will. I will meld form with an ochre jelly, okay.

Timothy (DM):

Cool. Remind the audience how that functions.

Dan (Wren):

Yes, I take on a trait I could breed it. I pretty much take on a trait up to the DM's discretion of the creature in that I'm oh please let it be that Ren becomes two runs when they get slashed.

Timothy (DM):

I can split Too many runs, I actually said they have three abilities, three features that I think would be really fun. Okay, so I'm gonna roll a D3 in order to determine which one you're going to get. So we've got amorphous spider, climb and split.

Russell (Upri):

Those are.

Timothy (DM):

We're gonna go with amorphous. So your body starts to become gelatinous and you can keep your form up, but you also notice that you can kind of stretch, you become what's the fantastic?

Chris (Salvador):

word Elastic girl, mr Fantastic Mr.

Timothy (DM):

Fantastic or elastic girl. I guess they both have a similar ability. Yeah, you, basically that's what happened.

Dan (Wren):

Or you fee. I'll look it up to see what I can actually you fee for one punch?

Timothy (DM):

You can move through a space as narrow as one inch wide without squeezing.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, brilliant Okay.

Russell (Upri):

Holy. What happens to the equipment, though? Does it stay?

Dan (Wren):

behind. Does my equipment also become super flexy, like my swords and whatnot?

Timothy (DM):

Interesting? I don't think it would, though. I don't think yeah you'd have to get ready for this oh.

Dan (Wren):

Well, my clothes can fold in on each other, yeah your clothes can fold as much as your clothes folds. I wear cloth clothes, yeah.

Timothy (DM):

I don't wear armor.

Chris (Salvador):

You don't wear any armor Interesting.

Dan (Wren):

I have unarmored defense Because you had your intelligence.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, as a scholar.

Chris (Salvador):

You're like Sherlock Holmes in that boxing match in the movie Because you know where to dodge. It makes you harder to hit.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah.

Dan (Wren):

I am.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah.

Timothy (DM):

No bones for you. All right, is that your turn?

Dan (Wren):

Yes, that is my action, so now I can just move through spaces, your turn is basically just to become jelly.

Russell (Upri):

Guys, I think something's wrong with my friend?

Dan (Wren):

No, I did this on purpose.

Chris (Salvador):

I regret it, but I did this on purpose.

Dan (Wren):

He's just all wobbly.

Chris (Salvador):

Like what the fuck is going on.

Russell (Upri):

It's like one of those things outside a carriage dealership.

Timothy (DM):

All right, that is the jelly's turn, so love this for everybody. We're going to get a lot more attacks.

Dan (Wren):

Do you also happen to have like actually?

Timothy (DM):

20s real quick Me. Yeah, all the way to the right. There are a bunch of d20s in that jar, the bottom right. Oh yeah, thank you. I need more d20s if I'm going to have this many enemies. So gorgeous we are going to go through another round of attacks from the Oakard jelly's. But does that mean?

Chris (Salvador):

you'll die One, two, three, four, four d20s. If parts of you die, what happens after you? Like one of your split things dies.

Timothy (DM):

I believe only one of these is going to hit Ren because your AC is 16.

Timothy (DM):

17. 17 now. Okay, gorgeous, only one of them is going to hit you. Okay, so it is going to get six bludgeoning and one acid, as they are just surrounding you and you're like all warbling and jelly. And they're all warbling and jelly and it's just like this gooey, weird mess.

Dan (Wren):

Sure, but now I have permanent advantage on them, so that is true.

Timothy (DM):

Salvador, there are only two on you right now. A 23 does hit.

Chris (Salvador):

I'm going to cast.

Timothy (DM):

Hellshurbuke on it Right, so we'll roll for damage first and you are going to take 11 bludgeoning and one acid.

Russell (Upri):

I think the bigger ones do a lot. When you split them, they do less damage.

Timothy (DM):

No, their damage is the same when they split. They just have less health. You're smaller.

Russell (Upri):

Spoiler alert I'm going to keep making more, but eventually they can't split anymore.

Timothy (DM):

Hellshurbuke they have to do. Is it deck save?

Chris (Salvador):

It is a deck-stirity saving throw.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, they are going to roll a 10, which will fail, yeah, so they take 15 points of fire damage. Okay, gorgeous, all right, and then the two on Upree are going to go. A 15 is the highest.

Russell (Upri):

That does not hit.

Timothy (DM):

All right, so now to our black puddings, and our black puddings are going to do some very similar things.

Russell (Upri):

Can I try to taunt one away from whoever got hit.

Timothy (DM):

Do you have a taunt ability?

Russell (Upri):

No, would you?

Timothy (DM):

like to do a charisma-based taunt.

Russell (Upri):

Kind of be intimidation.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, intimidation would be a thing Over here, you Lin Legger.

Kai (Yonce):

What's the 7? It's not 1.

Timothy (DM):

I thought it was 2.

Russell (Upri):

11?.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, they don't seem to react to yelling at them. They're pretty dumb.

Russell (Upri):

They probably don't understand calling.

Timothy (DM):

They have an intelligence of 1, so they don't understand what the fuck's going on? They just want to consume. So we are going to get one attack on Salvador from the black pudding Does a 17 hit? No, it does not. And Yance, they got a 6. So that is also not going to hit. That is their turn. And now it is finally Yance's turn.

Kai (Yonce):

Finally, I cast Banishment on the big black pudding and, I guess, the medium-sized black pudding. It would be a charisma-save of 16.

Russell (Upri):

You can go to two targets now.

Kai (Yonce):

Yeah, since I'm on the 5th level. Damn Charisma-saves. I read oh they.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, A charisma minus 5. Okay, the black ooze on the ceiling disappears for one minute, because they are from this plane of existence, so they are gone.

Kai (Yonce):

Both of them.

Timothy (DM):

Both of them yeah.

Kai (Yonce):

Okay, yep, and then with my bonus action that I need to really quickly look up. So excuse me, excuse me, sorry, excuse me coming through.

Dan (Wren):

Sorry.

Russell (Upri):

I just got to get over here, so I'm so sorry, excuse me. Amir, talk to you about your car's extended warranty.

Kai (Yonce):

Maybe I don't have it, never mind my bonus action doesn't actually happen, never mind, I'm done.

Timothy (DM):

Gorgeous Upraise Still pretty good. Yeah, upraise is way.

Dan (Wren):

I was waiting At the smallest one. Are we small? Yes, squash it.

Russell (Upri):

I'm going to reckless attack, oh, so make sure you're attacking me with advantage, sorry, okay, I don't know if you need to redo, because they all missed.

Timothy (DM):

I will real quick All right, do 19s hit you.

Kai (Yonce):

Yes.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, so actually they will be doing damage on you. Okay, so you're going to take 7 bludgeoning, 5 acids.

Russell (Upri):

All right, so the 7 becomes 3.

Timothy (DM):

And then 8 bludgeoning 2 acid 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2.

Russell (Upri):

So that was only 14 damage total. I'm down to 99.

Timothy (DM):

Oh my god, she's close to death.

Kai (Yonce):

Everyone Form a circle. Double digits Form a circle. On death's doorstep.

Russell (Upri):

The first swing is a 28.

Timothy (DM):

It's like the dragula. When the alarm goes off, they all, like fake, freak out.

Kai (Yonce):

It's like we know you have an extra hour 28?

Russell (Upri):

28? Wow.

Timothy (DM):

I don't know what that definitely hit.

Russell (Upri):

You let me break this character. That's going to be for 21 slashing damage.

Timothy (DM):

You should be broken against jelly.

Russell (Upri):

That's fair. 21 slashing damage. Oh wait, no plus 3. So 24 slashing damage.

Timothy (DM):

And you were attacking the tiniest one that had 5 hit points. Okay, it's dead.

Timothy (DM):

Any cleave rules.

Timothy (DM):

I will do just for the sake of this fight. You get both this tiny ones One golf swing and you said 23 damage. You said 24.

Russell (Upri):

24 damage and then a 23 for the second attack on whatever's closest. I'm going to go from smallest to biggest, in order of attacking.

Timothy (DM):

That one will also hit. We're going to just keep cleaving. That's what's going to happen. Roll for damage 22 slashing damage.

Russell (Upri):

I'm getting 5s and 6s on my greatsword.

Timothy (DM):

So that is 18, halved in 9.

Russell (Upri):

Fucking oozes.

Timothy (DM):

So you basically, in that you take out the two tiny ones and the medium one, I'm going to do something damaging soon. And then so you take one large on you.

Russell (Upri):

Okay, so between me and Sal, how many are honest together versus Sal?

Timothy (DM):

has two okras. You have one okra. Ren has a horde, alright, and then I'm going to use my bonus action to magically teleport next to Ren.

Russell (Upri):

Alright, and so sorry for flavor wise, at the beginning of combat, I don't have my sword out when we're walking around, so I summoned it in like a flash of amber magic, just like a giant amber greatsword, and then magically I just like disappear in a whirlwind of leaves and reappear next to Ren. And that's my turn, compaw.

Timothy (DM):

Something I just realized, because I was like, oh, you're flanking them now and I was like, oh, they've been flanking all over this whole time. We got to spread out, so I should have been rolling with advantage on everything for this whole fight.

Kai (Yonce):

Well, too late, you can't recon Anyway.

Timothy (DM):

We're not going to go back and make this combat any longer.

Chris (Salvador):

Salvador. Okay, which is what you do. This is the first round. My first is going to need to do anything Gorgeous.

Russell (Upri):

I was going to do Shatter Gorgeous.

Chris (Salvador):

So how many of them can I hit within a 10 foot radius?

Timothy (DM):

There are two on you and you're in the center of the room, so probably the one that was on Uppery as well.

Chris (Salvador):

So three Okay, are there any that I can hit? That won't hit any of my other teammates, probably the two that are on me.

Timothy (DM):

So all three of them you'd be able to hit without hitting Uppery, because Uppery teleported and Yonsei is canonically not in the center of the room In the wall.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, okay.

Timothy (DM):

So they need the doorway.

Chris (Salvador):

I was like oh, by banished. You take care of that. They need to do a constitution saving throw Constitution and they need to get above a 17.

Timothy (DM):

All right. So one of them got a nat 20, so they will save. And then Khan is plus two. The other two fail Okay.

Chris (Salvador):

So do, do, do, do 10 plus nine 19 points to the ones that failed of thunder damage and nine to the other one.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, so 17 and nine right.

Chris (Salvador):

So we just 19 and nine.

Timothy (DM):

Wow, I'm doing great Um 19, 19 and nine. All right, so that brings us up to rain.

Dan (Wren):

Right now that I have all of my things active, I'm still blobby. Yeah, I'm so sorry. I will make Balenciaga attack one yeah.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, so there are four on you two mediums and two large. The 15 hit. A 15 does hit.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, okay, great, I rolled a five. They have an.

Timothy (DM):

AC of eight.

Dan (Wren):

Great, you're just smacking puddles, I'll you sneak attack with this one so long, that is 15 plus five plus five plus 10, 25 piercing damage on one of them. I do a lot of Okay.

Timothy (DM):

So cleave rule um one of them slashed, splat the other one you carve into it as well, I like to think that Balenciaga, just like, flew through one into another. Yeah, um, not enough for it to split. It doesn't have enough health to split.

Dan (Wren):

Well, I'm, I'm about to split it with my own sword. I'll split that. One Does a. It does, uh, it does a 25 hit. Yes, it does. Okay, so I'm going to do a 26 and that is 14 slashing damage for piercing damage. Sorry, splat, I splat the other one.

Timothy (DM):

Um right, so there are two large ones left on you, uh, two large ones left on a cell, and actually I guess three now, because the one that upgrade left behind, wow Oops, it seems like I was more needed.

Russell (Upri):

But then I just see your rent demolished. Okay, gorgeous.

Timothy (DM):

Um, which brings us to oozes. Okay, so how many do we have? We've got two on rent, so those are going to roll. Um, does a 17 hit you? That is my no yes, yes, it does.

Russell (Upri):

Wait, do I take one of those Now that I'm next to Ren?

Dan (Wren):

I think you have your own.

Timothy (DM):

Oh no.

Russell (Upri):

I'm pulling off.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, that's right. Um so, uh, the one that was going after Ren was the one that misses.

Dan (Wren):

Does a 17 hit you? It does, okay, cool, you have the damage. Oh, I'm trying to take more.

Timothy (DM):

It actually has advantage and crits on you.

Dan (Wren):

Yes, yeah, uh wait, it has advantage on me too, right, the other one.

Russell (Upri):

Well, I think we each have one. They're not flanking anymore.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, that's true.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, Sorry Sal.

Russell (Upri):

Why'd?

Chris (Salvador):

you leave me. Well, you have like an AC of like 25. I think it's 18.

Timothy (DM):

14 bludgeoning.

Russell (Upri):

Okay, half to seven.

Timothy (DM):

Three acid.

Russell (Upri):

Oh no, down eight those ones, and then.

Timothy (DM):

Salvador has three on him that are each going to roll with advantage. Uh, does an 18 hit you? Yes, okay. One does a 24 hit? Yes, it does no. Fuck off. Um. Does a 22 hit? Yes, it does, oh, no.

Timothy (DM):

I'm my greatest error.

Timothy (DM):

Um, okay, uh, so that's five bludgeoning plus six acid and then 10 bludgeoning plus one acid.

Kai (Yonce):

No, I'm still at the doorway just being like. That looks like it hurts.

Timothy (DM):

And then 11 bludgeoning plus two acid.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, I'm still alive.

Chris (Salvador):

I'm very bad, that's 35.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah that was a lot.

Chris (Salvador):

Um. That is their turn.

Timothy (DM):

Yonsei, what are you doing if you just banished the black pudding? It was like raining down in front of you. It was like a wall of black oily substance no.

Kai (Yonce):

Not today. No, thank you. I'm going to use all three of my Eldris Blast on the ones that are at that are trying to kill Sal oh.

Timothy (DM):

Cook, cook, cook. All yeah, what were you going to say, Sal?

Chris (Salvador):

I'll save it for my turn. Okay, so one is so.

Kai (Yonce):

that's a one is a 10. That hits oh.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, oh perfect.

Kai (Yonce):

Oh then, these all three of these hit cause one's going to be a 17,. One's going to be a 16.

Timothy (DM):

Nice.

Kai (Yonce):

So all four of them all three of them math, math, all right.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, roll for damage A zero, 10.

Kai (Yonce):

Yeah, so one's a 14. Okay 14. One is a seven and then the other one is a 13. So 14, 13, seven.

Russell (Upri):

Damn.

Kai (Yonce):

Nice. And then I'm going to use my bonus action of maddening hex, cause I read it. I can do it, so I don't know why I just did that. I'm sorry. I'm going to use. I'm going to use, cause it's plus four, psychic damage. I'm going to add the plus four to the one that I just got seven on, so it's 14, 13, 11.

Timothy (DM):

All right, none of them are slattered, but you do a significant amount of damage on. You're welcome, thanks.

Timothy (DM):

Some people look out for their teammates.

Russell (Upri):

Listen, I tried to do the math and I didn't Um.

Timothy (DM):

Can I do something? I think I'm done my first turn was deceptive.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, I didn't do a lot of damage.

Russell (Upri):

Uh, I'm coming back sale and I'll teleport back to sale.

Chris (Salvador):

Just leaving, run for the two.

Russell (Upri):

Uh, and I'll womp the one that has the most health. Reckless attack. Uh, that is going to be a 23.

Timothy (DM):

So that definitely hurts.

Russell (Upri):

And that is uh 19 slashing damage 19 slashing yeah To All right and splits. Um, oh shit, I'm going to reckless attack. It's not on both attacks, I don't think it's the first one. Uh, so I'll use that net one, which is still a 14.

Timothy (DM):

14 will hit yeah.

Dan (Wren):

Drop your sword on it.

Russell (Upri):

I'm open to suggestions. Uh, and that is nine plus nine is 18 plus three is 21, slashing damage.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, you slashed through both of the tiny ones that had just split. Uh, so that's one more. Uh, who's out of the way? I'm so sorry. It's okay, there are two large and one small left. Yes, yup, that's. That's what's going on in this piece of paper. The my math for like all of their health right now is wild because I have to keep splitting. So it's like this chaotic.

Kai (Yonce):

You're choosing to split them. You're choosing this for yourself.

Russell (Upri):

All right, it's two plus two plus one Salvador, okay.

Chris (Salvador):

As my reaction from whenever I got hit by one.

Russell (Upri):

Clue.

Chris (Salvador):

I need them to do a dexterity saving throw Dexterity.

Dan (Wren):

How many? Just one, Just one right. What Like thunder's retribution.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, it's a wrath of storm Um 11 minus two is nine. So they're going to. I'm going to use my channel to divinity to cast destructive wrath. So they take 16 points of thunder damage. So that's my reaction.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, exactly, they're gone.

Chris (Salvador):

Okay, and I'm going to cast a shatter again. All right, so there are two and they have to do a constitution saving throw, I think.

Timothy (DM):

Gorgeous. Uh, so I will say that you can position because there's the two that are on run. Um, that you can position yourself because now Uppery is out of the picture, on the other side of the room again. Um, you'll be able to, uh corner him.

Chris (Salvador):

Oh, what about the ones that are on me?

Timothy (DM):

There's only two left and they're both on run. Oh, oh gosh.

Chris (Salvador):

I thought there were three on me and then you were able to get the most.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, there were three upper splattered, to you splattered one Gotcha.

Chris (Salvador):

Okay, I helped. Thank you very much.

Timothy (DM):

Yes, there was some assistance by.

Kai (Yonce):

Yance Some.

Timothy (DM):

What was I doing?

Chris (Salvador):

Oh, they have to do a constitution saving throw.

Timothy (DM):

Constitution, save of 12 and 13.

Chris (Salvador):

They both fail, so they're going to take 48 of thunder damage 48.

Dan (Wren):

Oh 48.

Chris (Salvador):

And I'm going to use another channel, divinity, because it's a free action for me. Like 32 points of thunder damage 32.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, Um, they are like shrunk to like tiny, tiny, tiny bets I got both of them are on death door.

Russell (Upri):

Damn, these are beefy. Oh two channel divinities.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, I guess technically not on death door.

Timothy (DM):

Oh geez, they're medium sized now.

Kai (Yonce):

We should probably wrap this up, because the two that I sent to banish will eventually come back.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, that's fair, it's been 12 seconds. Yeah, another 50 seconds to get out of this room.

Dan (Wren):

Is it?

Kai (Yonce):

Hurry, we don't have much time.

Timothy (DM):

Uh yeah, it is Run's turn.

Dan (Wren):

Does a oh, this is Balenciaga, Balenciaga.

Timothy (DM):

I don't have to yell it every time.

Dan (Wren):

Yes, you do. No, I have to yell it to activate it.

Russell (Upri):

Oh okay, and then I just can't follow it Um it is a. Can we get a sample of face to control it?

Dan (Wren):

18 to hit. Huh, an 18 will hit, does your?

Russell (Upri):

forehead just wrinkle every time it goes in.

Dan (Wren):

Does. Oh wait, I'm sneak attacking because I would have been hit Aside.

Russell (Upri):

I do attack.

Dan (Wren):

Um, that is 21. Splat Plus okay, I'm S-in and then I will OZ 21 plus 3.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, doesn't barely splat, actually, because it's slashing right, piercing, oh piercing, then definitely splat.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, so they're only resistance against slashing.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, which is weird, that's a dirty 20.

Russell (Upri):

Interesting, I would think it would be all physical. That's a dirty 20 with the short source.

Dan (Wren):

That makes sense, so that is Five piercing, five piercing Okay.

Timothy (DM):

Now it's like it's tiny now.

Dan (Wren):

I didn't have time to analyze, yeah, so I don't do as much damage.

Timothy (DM):

Um, oh gosh, it's, it's last turn. Um, it does not have advantage on you this time. So let's see if it slaps you, it gets a nat one.

Russell (Upri):

Brilliant.

Timothy (DM):

So nothing, yonsei, do you want to do the?

Kai (Yonce):

This for sheer boredom and flavor. I'm just going to take out my boomerang and throw it at it, and I got a nine.

Timothy (DM):

Which will do it?

Timothy (DM):

Oh, because of me.

Russell (Upri):

First boomerang kill let's go.

Kai (Yonce):

And it's a five.

Dan (Wren):

Plus dexterity bonus. It's Huh. Plus your dexterity bonus.

Russell (Upri):

No, I think that's including. That's including.

Kai (Yonce):

But can I still use my madden and hex? I can.

Chris (Salvador):

I think so, yeah, I can, so add four to that.

Timothy (DM):

Just enough.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, boomerang, we're all just like.

Timothy (DM):

What he just like. Oh yeah, yonsei's been hoarding weapons. For some reason, I'm not hoarding.

Kai (Yonce):

I got rid of some of them. I'm going to walk as I walk through the room or as I throw the boomerang. I'm just going to embed it with my hex so it has a purple haze to it as it slices through it and then it comes back to me. I then put it back into my bag that is still canonically correct and I walk and I'm like, can we go? This was nasty.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, the room is just like sprayed with this, like yellowy green nastiness.

Kai (Yonce):

And if we have to walk past here again, we're going to have to fight two people, two more blobs.

Russell (Upri):

so yeah, well, it looks like it doubles back to the hallway if we go right.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, okay.

Chris (Salvador):

It goes back to where that first room branched. Yeah.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, okay, sure, Then we can see if there's another exit that way.

Russell (Upri):

Let's make them like a tree and get the fuck out of here.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, so as you skedaddle out of this room on further into the dungeon. We are going to take a short break, a ten minute break, and I am actually going to throw on a timer so you know when we're going to be back.

Kai (Yonce):

This break is sponsored by Zephyr Melifucorum. Use kill at ten for ten percent off Coal still work.

Timothy (DM):

And if K-I-Gester does, it will always work. K-i-l-l-a-h Ten Ten the number ten that's fresh For ten percent off. All right, we'll see you shortly. Bye, oh, thanks, time's up. Tiktok, all right, we're back.

Timothy (DM):

We're back, we're back.

Timothy (DM):

Oh wait, audience. Have I ever sucked?

Timothy (DM):

at me At GodwinForge, at GodwinForge, at GodwinForge. Underscore Time's up.

Russell (Upri):

Get back to work, back to the small one.

Chris (Salvador):

Okay, so we're back.

Timothy (DM):

This is the first time we're doing a timer. It was hard y'all. We usually vibe out.

Kai (Yonce):

We do. Sorry, this is all that I'm looking at.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, I think frantically shoveling food into your mouth is why I'm paying.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, because it's my forever vibe. You got a deep throat. You got a deep throat, you got a deep throat.

Kai (Yonce):

You got a deep throat, a burpless cucumber.

Dan (Wren):

I could be at home in my sweats on the couch and I'd be frantically shoveling food into my face Gorgeous.

Timothy (DM):

I'm just going to keep saying gorgeous when I'm like the conversation. I don't know what else to say. Gorgeous gorgeous, gorgeous have you noticed that I do that Like anytime you're like done with a round, or like the thought is complete and I don't know how to respond to just being gorgeous and they moved out.

Kai (Yonce):

No, you do a sigh, You're like gorgeous.

Russell (Upri):

I feel like I just get okay.

Timothy (DM):

I don't get gorgeouses you don't have to say to me, I just get a look.

Kai (Yonce):

We're going to pay attention now.

Dan (Wren):

Well to get us back. I need to make a corruption roll. Oh, as I release my gooey form.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, before you do that, can I just start slapping? You Is it reverb Like a stretch yeah.

Dan (Wren):

I think I can and I like shove my hand into, like a gap in the wall.

Chris (Salvador):

Look what I can do. You just pull a mouse out of the mouse. Where are?

Dan (Wren):

your bones. I don't know to be quite honest, but hold on a second and I will release it. Oh, I failed for the second time in history. I failed my corruption roll, yes. So what do I do?

Timothy (DM):

I go and I change the numbers right now, because otherwise I'll forget to do it. You still have me at five, will?

Kai (Yonce):

Do I.

Chris (Salvador):

Let's check mine.

Kai (Yonce):

On the podcast stream, which I'm hoping oh my gosh, you are right. Four will.

Timothy (DM):

I literally sat my ass down last week and like yeah, mine is also wrong.

Russell (Upri):

We did have a conversation about that.

Timothy (DM):

I'm not sure the scene. Oh, did not save. Okay, maybe I didn't think I needed to save things.

Chris (Salvador):

So we got the six will for Yonsei.

Timothy (DM):

Anybody else is wrong.

Chris (Salvador):

I get two and six for me, oh my goodness.

Dan (Wren):

One and seven for me, well, now two and seven, oh my goodness, wait, do I gain one corruption or do I have to roll Just one? Okay, just one. I'm at two. Wow Twins.

Russell (Upri):

Mine's right, because I haven't used a single ability, since we're twins in terms of corruption. Okay, I promised you.

Kai (Yonce):

You promised me not to use any corruption, as I used one to prove a point.

Russell (Upri):

It's going to happen where I'm going to break the promise at some point.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, or your sister dies, meredith. Meredith, you made a deal that said you would use your corruption. Oh yeah, the director hasn't helped me accountable yet, because maybe they forgot it.

Russell (Upri):

Does someone?

Dan (Wren):

doesn't mean no. Well, now they remember.

Russell (Upri):

So we're in this dungeon and we're out of the slimy room, so we're back at the footwork.

Timothy (DM):

Go through the slimy or you just get the out of the fuck out of there You're like okay, the leguses are going to come back. We got to go and it goes down. I mean, yeah, it has two parallel hallways. You can tell that they're parallel hallways, one to the right, one to the left. I don't know why there's just two. They look pretty identical. Do you want to go down to the right or the left? Left?

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, right would be back where we came. So we go left.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, no, right is not back where you could.

Russell (Upri):

Are you looking at it from our perspective or from the perspective of the map?

Timothy (DM):

Right. So if you leave the room it splits off into two parallel hallways, the right hallway and the left hall.

Chris (Salvador):

So there are two doors, like there are two. Wait, the one door has two hallways One, three right, Three right.

Russell (Upri):

It's when we were back where we started oh, but we're not turning right, we're picking which way to go forward.

Timothy (DM):

There's two hallways.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, I got the snap way wrong.

Chris (Salvador):

There are two doors okay.

Kai (Yonce):

I mean, my drawing is very inaccurate.

Russell (Upri):

This was what I thought was happening and that we started in the bottom.

Timothy (DM):

No, okay. So you go through the room, you cross the room. There's an exit on the other side. Yonsei's like scooting you all around, like along, being like, hurry up hurry up.

Kai (Yonce):

We gotta save the room, we gotta save the world. Left door.

Timothy (DM):

Right or left hallway. You go to the left Split. Okay it is very uneventful At the end of the hallway, it opens up into another room, and this one is a large library. Where at one time it was a large library, all you see now are decayed molding, glistening piles of books, more glistening piles of books. Don't touch the books.

Kai (Yonce):

Ren.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah.

Timothy (DM):

I'm not going to this time I know better From the threshold of the room you can see that there is a large open space beyond the library, like a open floor area where there's no furniture, no statues, just like a 90 by 90 space for no reason. But at the other end of that are stairs that go down and then to the left you see a door.

Russell (Upri):

Upree is going to now being overly confident that she found the other door through her own. Anyway, just run for the open space.

Chris (Salvador):

I'm like I think there's a floor door. Can I take a rest? Yeah, oh.

Timothy (DM):

As Upree is running. You look up. I mean you see all the signs. The books are all molded, all decayed. There's this like sheen over everything. That's kind of like oily and Ren looks up and the ceiling is just coated in black.

Dan (Wren):

ooze, I'm going to try and grab Upree before she runs off.

Russell (Upri):

I'm just going to point out. Yeah, that's the ceiling.

Dan (Wren):

Do you see the oozes? Do you see the shining? I hold up my torch a little bit higher.

Timothy (DM):

You see, the ceiling is just starting to like drip down. It's like the center of the room. The ceiling is just starting to like come down to a point. You see it starting to like all come down and starting to drip. What do you all do?

Russell (Upri):

Where you are going to sit on the floor for an hour and tell stories.

Kai (Yonce):

I think we need to run out this room, in this final room. That's not goopy.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, we got to find somewhere with the door, with a lock.

Russell (Upri):

Run for the stairs.

Chris (Salvador):

I would think, if we are able to outrun, how long is this room? You said it's 90 feet, or is that just this space in the center?

Timothy (DM):

It is. The library is 90 feet deep, about 120 feet wide, and then there is another 90 foot open space past the library section before you get through the doors. You have 180 feet to run.

Dan (Wren):

Take me 20 seconds to get down to the stairs. Oh, tell me, take me 12 seconds.

Russell (Upri):

Who's the slowest Decision?

Timothy (DM):

Sal Yon my walk speed is 30.

Kai (Yonce):

We run. I think we got 30. I can also miss these steps. You start sprinting.

Timothy (DM):

Everybody give me a duck save.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, oh.

Timothy (DM):

I'm double-shrishing. Wait, everybody give me a duck save.

Russell (Upri):

I have questions.

Timothy (DM):

Well, give me a duck save first Fuck.

Chris (Salvador):

Well, my question is I'm using my inspiration.

Timothy (DM):

Am I doing?

Russell (Upri):

a duck save against something I can see.

Timothy (DM):

Nope.

Kai (Yonce):

OK, I got a nat 20.

Timothy (DM):

Chris is using inspiration. Ok, inspiration oh.

Russell (Upri):

Not that much better.

Chris (Salvador):

Yes, I do that.

Timothy (DM):

Inspiration.

Russell (Upri):

Thank you.

Timothy (DM):

Thank you Actually for that banishment. Yon say gets an inspiration. I forgot to do it, so yes.

Kai (Yonce):

I get my token back, clutch and a Yon say move Canonically.

Timothy (DM):

banishment is Yon say's thing.

Kai (Yonce):

I'm just saying I think I'm the MVP of that battle because I did not split anyone and I actually got rid of the big ones.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, they were the big ones.

Russell (Upri):

You say this to Upria, she trips and falls with a nat one that I rewrote that I wasted inspiration to get I got a. You got two nat ones. I had a five, and then I used inspiration to get a nat one.

Timothy (DM):

OK, so what are those duck saves?

Kai (Yonce):

Yeah, I got a nat 20, so 23.

Timothy (DM):

23, gorgeous.

Russell (Upri):

Nat one, so two.

Chris (Salvador):

Two. Ok, it was going to be a nat one and I got a 10. A 10.

Timothy (DM):

All right, cool, cool, cool cool.

Dan (Wren):

Which probably is bad, yeah, 21. That's pass.

Timothy (DM):

So, upria Salvador, you all sprint past the library as the ceiling is starting to rain down all around you, oh, and you're like no, we're not going to do this fight, we're not doing it. We're just going to run past it. However, as you make your way into the open space beyond the library, you hear the sound of compressed air coming from both sides, right and left.

Russell (Upri):

Oh my god, a shrub.

Timothy (DM):

A shrub Start to shoot From the right and left of the room. Yance and Ren are able to duck quickly enough to get underneath the line of the arrows shooting from side to side.

Kai (Yonce):

For flavor. Can I do the embison spin? The embison spin, Street fighter win.

Timothy (DM):

Oh no, I didn't do street fighter, it's like a barrel roll.

Kai (Yonce):

OK barrel roll. Yeah, abs to fucking Lutley. It's more like a spinning thing. So I think Over that.

Dan (Wren):

Do you use your elder's blast just at angles?

Kai (Yonce):

Exactly, I'm like I hear the compressions come out. I'm like not today and I shoot two elder's blasts and I just start spinning, being like whee.

Timothy (DM):

I love that.

Dan (Wren):

And I'll call on Balenciaga to deflect some as I'm yeah.

Russell (Upri):

So mechanically I can't do this, but can I try to do something?

Timothy (DM):

Shh, that's what I'm like. I can't do this, but can I try? Didn't you get a net one?

Russell (Upri):

Yes, but, like you'll see, ok. So I would like to summon my wings as I see, as I hear the noise and I see that Sal and I are about to be pelted, and I just want to scoop Sal and then cover both of us in our wings and try to take all the damage that Sal would take and that. So I summon, like. How inspiring they're basically like leaf wings like 14 foot span, because it has to be double my height to carry me. Yeah, and I just no you're correct.

Russell (Upri):

You're correct. That's that gets, because we need to arrest you. You're low and I'm very low, which?

Timothy (DM):

is If.

Russell (Upri):

Like I'll accept more damage. I just want to take the damage off of Sal.

Timothy (DM):

For the save of the trap, but I will let you do another deck save to take the brunt of the damage from Sal.

Russell (Upri):

OK.

Timothy (DM):

I will say that this is a lot of damage.

Russell (Upri):

That's fine, I can take it.

Timothy (DM):

Can you give me some detens yeah?

Russell (Upri):

I'm switching out these D20s. That's five.

Dan (Wren):

Here. Ok, hold on. Is it OK if I give you the D100 parts of the detent? Yes, that's fine, I can do your four. How many do you?

Timothy (DM):

need Technically 20, if Sal would or if a free, what did you get for your?

Russell (Upri):

A five A five.

Timothy (DM):

OK, so that's going to fail.

Russell (Upri):

To do.

Kai (Yonce):

It's going to be to inspiration now again.

Timothy (DM):

You do have inspiration, that's Ben.

Chris (Salvador):

Oh, thank you so much. That's a seven, oh geez, we're just plagued by bad luck.

Timothy (DM):

So sorry, so I only need 10 detens. I have six, so if I can get four more detens, oh wait, no, I have.

Chris (Salvador):

I need two more.

Timothy (DM):

There you go. Ok, I have 10 deten. This is going to be. I'll pray, because that's the less terrifying of them.

Russell (Upri):

So I succeed, or does that still take damage?

Timothy (DM):

Huh, does that still take damage? Sal is still going to take the damage. Can I? Can I use one of my?

Kai (Yonce):

can I use one of my third elders blast as I'm zooping to kind of it wouldn't be over At least one singular or as many as I can like, because I'm assuming that with my, as I'm spinning like I'm, it's like energy, so I'm trying to how you can hit me in the knee, so I'll kneel down and hit the floor before the needles hit me. I would say that's pretty inspiring as well. I have an inspirational token, but like that's OK, if I die, I can just make a bargain.

Chris (Salvador):

If I die, I can just make a bargain with the dreamer.

Timothy (DM):

I mean, the two of you did get. You got like a 23.

Kai (Yonce):

I got a net 20. So I got a 21.

Timothy (DM):

And you got a 20. Ok, net 20. I'll let you try some fuckery and worse thing Another deck save, unless you get. If you pass the DC of this trap, then you can help reduce the damage on sale.

Kai (Yonce):

I got a 14. Ok, that is the DC, so I will plus, I can use my pack of the talisman and they will add plus four to any save.

Timothy (DM):

OK, so I will let you just for you the. So what is that? Totally?

Timothy (DM):

18, 18.

Russell (Upri):

OK.

Timothy (DM):

I'll let you do sit by Fordy time or oh, so we'll take 60 time.

Kai (Yonce):

Can I get a second inspiration to OK?

Dan (Wren):

No, I'm going forward.

Russell (Upri):

Can we just give all my inspiration tokens to young.

Timothy (DM):

OK, so let me do some math real quick so nine.

Chris (Salvador):

The good news is that I won't die outright, even if you rolled 100, that would still be less than my max.

Timothy (DM):

And that's what I have. So I'll just drop 30, 30, 41. Forty nine.

Kai (Yonce):

So this is what it feels like when you know what you're doing.

Timothy (DM):

Sixty nine to me.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, I'm up.

Timothy (DM):

Sixty two piercing damage on up. Are you still raging from your?

Russell (Upri):

I don't think so. It'll be ranging only last a minute, though.

Kai (Yonce):

Yeah, it's been less than a minute though.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, y'all bolted out of that room.

Kai (Yonce):

Yeah, one, so 31 up at the ceiling and decided to run and continue to run.

Timothy (DM):

You probably have like 10 more seconds of rage left. All right, Salvador.

Dan (Wren):

Just slide Sal on his arm over to us at the end of the room.

Russell (Upri):

Well, I can fly.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, that's fair, but can you grab so?

Timothy (DM):

yeah, ok, so Salvador, that's six plus six is 12 plus 1016, 1720. I'm down to, because I had 19.

Russell (Upri):

Oh what's funny is, if I took all the damage and went down, I wouldn't have because I work pass over, you stay at one.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah oh, that's what I was trying to do, because I could basically negate.

Timothy (DM):

I still only dropped a detainment and I cannot find it. I think it's in between the two tables. Ok, so 22. So, as you are all running across the room, you hear that compression of air and you see the arrows just start pummeling opera and Sal Um Ren is able to duck under, yonsei is able to do ridiculous acrobatics with their eldritch blast spinning barrel turning over the line of arrows and you see Salvador crash into the ground right at the top of the steps as Uppery, and you all make it there. There are just like arrows sticking out of every.

Dan (Wren):

I'll grab Sal and just pull him onto the stairs.

Timothy (DM):

He is bleeding profusely. You can hear his breath is raspy as an arrow sticks out of his neck.

Dan (Wren):

I will medicine yeah.

Russell (Upri):

Can.

Dan (Wren):

I.

Russell (Upri):

I will. Can I assist with my herbalism kit? So plus five.

Kai (Yonce):

Oh, ok, and I can also assist with my herbalism kit, but I don't know what that means. Does, isn't if you use an herbalism kit isn't it like?

Chris (Salvador):

charges that can automatically pass medicine checks or is that a medicine kit?

Dan (Wren):

I?

Chris (Salvador):

think that's a medicine kit rather than herbalism kit.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, I rolled a six, so that's a 24.

Kai (Yonce):

Oh, then add my five as well.

Russell (Upri):

I think only one of us to help.

Timothy (DM):

Anyone else that can help with that?

Kai (Yonce):

Well, I'm just going to hold my bag, be like yeah yeah, a 25.

Timothy (DM):

That is enough to stabilize.

Chris (Salvador):

Thank you.

Timothy (DM):

So you are able to break off the arrows, compress into the wound and Salvador is currently stabilized at zero hit points.

Dan (Wren):

Yes, we have unconscious. Ok, I would like to investigate the stairs to make sure there are no active traps or monsters nearby.

Russell (Upri):

Does anyone have a healing potion?

Timothy (DM):

That's what I'm looking for, I mean you're going to see that at this point the jellies have like really dripped down into the library and they are drawn to the warmth from you all. Oh they're basically like moths to a flame, so they're going to be slowly moving towards you. They're very slow, they're not very intelligent, but they are making their way over to you at the top of the stairs.

Dan (Wren):

Another 24 on investigation 24 on investigation.

Timothy (DM):

The stairs seem fine, nothing wrong, the stairs I can use what I can.

Dan (Wren):

I can pick back up really quickly with some like with my healing bits. I mean, that's what they're good for, right.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, raising. Come on, they're so they're healing bits. That's a 12 healing Perfect.

Dan (Wren):

Thank you very much I patch you up with physical by physical means. Great, I pulled up.

Chris (Salvador):

I? I don't. Did I take any of the arrows?

Russell (Upri):

I have an error in my neck so I pull it out and I, oh, I imagine upper is just like snap, snap, snap, snap, only like 20 out.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, I can't believe how high I rolled on that.

Chris (Salvador):

That's crazy.

Timothy (DM):

That was a lot.

Chris (Salvador):

I wish I was a little over for self. I was going to say it's like, unless you roll like one to two, I rolled a bunch of ones, twos and threes, yeah, and when I rolled the 60 ton.

Timothy (DM):

So weekly throws the broken arrow at these.

Russell (Upri):

Well, because I was still raging, you would have to get like 130 to take me down.

Kai (Yonce):

Yeah, Wait, can we we still? We still have that torch. Yeah, can we throw it into the room? It says they're attracted to moffs, to the flame. Why don't we just throw the flame?

Russell (Upri):

Or they attracted to light.

Dan (Wren):

I think they're attracted to heat.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, that's good yeah. Toss it into the trap. Yeah, Maybe they trigger it. My second token no.

Timothy (DM):

I'm going to give you a minute. No, I am giving you. Oh, that was the whole point in me making them physical so I could hand them out, oh yeah, like candy.

Dan (Wren):

I have to get into the middle of the room.

Timothy (DM):

All right.

Kai (Yonce):

It's all downhill from here now.

Timothy (DM):

They came to play today, that is going to be a bit of a distraction to them. Obviously they're going to swarm, that it's going to go out pretty quickly, but it will delay them slightly behind you.

Dan (Wren):

Maybe they'll set off some traps along the way and take out a bunch of them.

Timothy (DM):

Oh yeah, the traps just keep going off.

Russell (Upri):

It's well above them. But sell up you, heal them.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, they're oozing across the floor and the traps are about at like your chest height.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, okay, so they're not going to take any hits.

Kai (Yonce):

I'm just going to also say Dwarven head height but human elf Half orc.

Timothy (DM):

Half orc waist.

Russell (Upri):

There's so many arrows just near my crotch. I guess. I will also say now that we have no, we have no torch.

Kai (Yonce):

You may want to stay behind. Yeah, I was going to say I'm going to cast light?

Dan (Wren):

Okay, perfect. Oh, that's fair. It doesn't give off heat. Okay, here. Do you want to slight something like my sword?

Timothy (DM):

up yeah.

Chris (Salvador):

I cast sacred flame on the head I cast sacred flame on the head I cast sacred flame on the head. I cast sacred flame on the head.

Kai (Yonce):

I cast sacred flame on the head I cast sacred flame on the head.

Russell (Upri):

Okay, so I can, I can, I can go to the front again, yeah.

Chris (Salvador):

So I can, I can still like we're still running.

Russell (Upri):

We're going down stairs, I'm hobbling. I cast a healing word on me, so I'm up to 32 now.

Kai (Yonce):

Okay, I can scoop you if you need me to. My base move is speed is 40. Okay, I also have.

Dan (Wren):

I have not taken any damage if you could. If you could stay behind, I'll stay in front.

Russell (Upri):

I'm doing okay on health and I'll just stay there and I will keep an eye on traps. I'm like Yoda on the back of upry yeah well, I imagine I could like kind of do my wings in a way that it like nestles you like a little.

Dan (Wren):

What's it with that thing with the cat in it? What did you call it? Because you're getting one a swaddle swaddle.

Chris (Salvador):

This is very cozy why, is an adventure more like this, yes, yeah see you. You run down the stairs, salvage or is seen better days yeah but is currently conscious he's thinking about all his failures, like why didn't I activate my cloak of NIMM to give them disadvantage?

Timothy (DM):

on. Why did I have to?

Chris (Salvador):

engage. Why did I cast a healing word before we're in the chapter?

Timothy (DM):

happening to somebody that's not me, this time be like oh yeah, I forgot.

Timothy (DM):

I could just not let banishment happen with my illusion wizard. Okay, great, you make your way down the stairs and it's like a hallway that immediately splits off in two directions. It kind of looks like a almost a roundabout situation, like that it's. You can tell that the hallway just kind of goes off to the right and then immediately curves back in and then is probably something like that so do you want to go right or left, right, right, as no, I said, follow the right wall.

Timothy (DM):

When we can, we're gonna follow this we've gotten downstairs, though it's fine, all right, for when you go up the stairs, you'll all right, we'll be on the right wall, you go down the stairs and it's the left wall, and then if you go down a shoot, then it's the yeah okay right, we'll go right, yeah right okay, so as the hallway curves off to the right, you can see that it continues again. It does curve all the way around, so it's like a little circle you circle hallway thing. But then there is a hallway that does go off to the right and that one does seem to go on for a little bit of a way the big chamber looks like multiple intersections, sorry sorry, I probably should be showing you the map, probably not just flashing it just quickly yeah, we get a vision.

Dan (Wren):

Wait. So now, what's directions are available to us?

Timothy (DM):

so you can continue. So so you went to the right. It curves off to the left and then splits to the right, continues to curve around the left again. Where you can see, you can glimpse there is a chamber there as well, or a hallway that goes down to the right, with a couple intersections that make any sense no, can we give us like is there which?

Dan (Wren):

can we go left? We can go left or right, or we go right.

Russell (Upri):

That goes to another intersection of always why are we here?

Timothy (DM):

we're we're on a hunch we're trying to figure out why the city is. Oh yeah, talak humming is now much louder. Can I track it?

Dan (Wren):

can I track it, the humming?

Timothy (DM):

can I use my perception?

Timothy (DM):

yeah, that's 22, 22, 24 mechanical humming definitely off to the right much right but there is a new sound it's like an echo of like dripping water that's off to the left no, we're skipping the drip, like my mom always we'll go right, gorgeous, make your way off to the right. There is one at intersection. To the left is a door, to the right is another hallway that looks like it opens up to a room that has statues on pedestals in rows, but the hallway does continue on if you'd like to do so.

Russell (Upri):

The hum is forward hum is forward.

Dan (Wren):

Do I still hear this? The slop slopping, slush lepping, slopping of who's behind us the squelching of squelching, yeah, but it's getting. You're putting it behind you yeah, okay, I want to know if we can stop and rest.

Russell (Upri):

Sounds like you're pretty expedient, there is door to your left yeah, do I try and go in the room because if they sense heat we can probably block. We'll just put like a towel under the crack and then we're good yeah so yeah.

Timothy (DM):

I'll pick our. Okay, I'm gonna investigate the door. Please, all right, give me an investigation that's a 32.

Russell (Upri):

Jesus.

Dan (Wren):

I roll a 19, so it's a normal door.

Timothy (DM):

It's made of brass, it's a door.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, brasses used a lot down here oh yeah, all right, I'll open the door if it's not trapped right.

Timothy (DM):

You open the door and it looks like this a long, long, long time ago was a sleeping chamber perfect. There are what remains of old, collapsed bunk beds and chest decayed cloth do we see any bones? No bones okay, no hmm, it seems more like this space the more that you've been down here. It seems like it's been abandoned, not like there was some cat catastrophic event where everybody was killed quickly.

Dan (Wren):

Ah, no drums in the deep is what you're saying?

Timothy (DM):

no, drums in the deep.

Dan (Wren):

No, just, it was this that is a Lord of the Rings reference. Yeah, never seen it, but let's continue if you make a reference, I don't get it the answers usually I would like to shove a cloth like maybe a bedsheet that old, just you know dissolving bedsheet under the crack of the door. No, who's this to get in?

Timothy (DM):

yeah, there is an old locking mechanism. It is very rusted, so I would like to have a strength check to do it. Hey up, reek, can you, without being super, super, fucking loud, can?

Dan (Wren):

you throw my memory yeah, so strength check yeah can I give you an?

Timothy (DM):

enhanced ability.

Chris (Salvador):

I'm gonna give you an enhanced ability. I think I could shoot a branch on it's an advantage, I think. Let me read enhanceability yeah, with full strength you get advantage on strength checks and your carrying capacity doubles very important yeah, it's gonna be a 22 all right, you, slowly and strengthfully,

Timothy (DM):

I'm controlled strike.

Timothy (DM):

It's like a control, yeah, cuz the whole range of motion trying to like click it or like close it without like having to really ram into it and create like echoing.

Russell (Upri):

You just see it like all the veins of my one arm just bulls as I slowly and you were able to lock the door, so I can get it thankfully because nobody asked or checked.

Timothy (DM):

There's nothing in this room that's gonna attack you, so I'm gonna say that you can have rest.

Chris (Salvador):

Thank good, I could have put spiders in here, oh gosh whoa whoa bill threats to him.

Dan (Wren):

I do for today.

Russell (Upri):

I will see you up to half right it's up to half.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, oh what I have 12 now it's very musty and moldy in here, but there are no signs either, and we kind of tune during a short rest.

Chris (Salvador):

Is it only a long rest?

Timothy (DM):

it's only, I don't remember. I think it's only long rest, but I can double check real quick what about warlock, since everything it does not change anything well, what's the point of being a warlock?

Russell (Upri):

then I feel like it's probably the spells not the spells and being able to persuade every NPC you find because you're so charming.

Kai (Yonce):

Well, I gained back a zero hit points because I lost spells.

Dan (Wren):

I gained, yeah, two spell slots even no, just one hexes a spell slot short rest.

Kai (Yonce):

Oh no, my bonus action that's you, but it's still.

Dan (Wren):

Is it not a spell slot maddening hex. Is that a class feature? Oh no, that's a. What is that called warlock invocation?

Timothy (DM):

yeah gotcha, there's the hex spell, to which is yeah friend okay, so attuning to an item requires a creature to spend a short rest. Oh, focused on only that item while being in physical contact with it and this can't be the same short rest used to learn the items properties.

Kai (Yonce):

Luckily, you were just given the information about the items properties each night on the tag, so that is not an issue here then, while we're doing as we're doing our short rest, I'm going to unattune my ring of the ram and attune to the rod of absorption that I got probably a smart move.

Dan (Wren):

Ring of Ram sucks I love my ring of the ram in my other game.

Kai (Yonce):

I love it too, but I just never. I've only hit once yeah, I mean with your elder to blast, you have a way better chance of hitting that's fair and doing more damage so now I just I take some string and I just make it into a little pretty necklace, nice, nice, just in case I need you again upry is gonna power nap and just and regain 68 hit points on a short rest.

Russell (Upri):

That's only absolutely wild my bonus was a plus 30 oh right, we get a constitution.

Timothy (DM):

That's wild but yeah, you all short rest, so you can all get those points.

Kai (Yonce):

I'm gonna take. As you're all resting, I'm also gonna kill me minus 25 either way. I'm still above 100 goodness as I'm gonna take watch, just because I'm the only one that has full health now I can attune while at the door, just in case.

Dan (Wren):

I appreciate that.

Kai (Yonce):

I'm just holding the rod close to my body, being like a tune. A tune, a tune. Do I spend my time?

Dan (Wren):

patching up Sal yeah and up where you just like stitching, like so sorry maybe you should patch up your armor.

Kai (Yonce):

You're pulling out your armor that has a now hole in it. Oh, it's just, I mean it's not armor literally just for show mm-hmm.

Chris (Salvador):

I have a helmet on as I'm being doctored by by the party, but I I say, well, if we need to get out of here very quickly now, we can teleport, because I have that power now. Huh what this hat this fancy hat with the lightning bolt on it allows me to teleport everyone how far?

Dan (Wren):

I think it's just aware.

Chris (Salvador):

I think it's me and another person anywhere, just one of us. I can use it up to three times, so I can save two people. Leave one that I hit you up right good luck, you got a over hundred hit points. You just have to line back of your way through everything all right, I get it but no, I would save you because you, you helped protect me from all these, those arrows, you tried. I try y'all thinking cast management honor on themselves, so they can just go over, just eat out the pudding.

Timothy (DM):

You you all wouldn't know this, but the black pudding by now would have been like slowly sloughing down the stairwell.

Chris (Salvador):

So it would have been like relocated from the library where it was on the ceiling you could run underneath it to now just like the entire stairwell hard time going backwards update, update creatures, yeah oh creatures and we're gonna teleport to like places you've been where there's a ranking of success, like if I've never been there, it's more likely that we're gonna explode in the future when you gain an ability lead with the.

Russell (Upri):

We might explode, but miss hap.

Chris (Salvador):

It's miss hap does not mean explode, it just means something unpredictable might happen, like we take 3d 10 of force damage and then something happens with Tim.

Timothy (DM):

I think it's like yeah, you just like teleport into an object yeah damage being thrown out. Okay, I think that's how it mechanically is supposed to go get stuck in walls. Go ahead, all right it's kind of like in minecraft it when you use the teleport and you end up accidentally teleporting into the ground and you suffocate.

Russell (Upri):

That's that's kind of situation well, I won't let that happen. I can't see that has ever happened to me in the Minecraft.

Kai (Yonce):

I can also misty step. So if that happens, I'll just missy step myself out gorgeous okay so short rest.

Timothy (DM):

Would we like to go on another break or do you want to keep playing? I'm okay, I'm good yeah, oh my gosh okay cool.

Kai (Yonce):

I'm good if we've only been doing it for like 20 minutes maybe because we took a break at like 215 or I don't know, 220 yeah gorgeous, all right

Dan (Wren):

what's Matt can let us know, beautiful all um, alright, so yeah, what's the time say about that? Yes, a pretty open door quietly, please.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, I think only last 10 quietly because again, it's rested and you have to unlock it now athletics mm-hmm 14 all right, that's enough, unless now these are not difficult tasks, they're just things

Dan (Wren):

um, and before we open the door, can I listen underneath the door to hear if there's like any sloshing?

Timothy (DM):

yeah, give me a perception that is a 26 okay, yeah, no, no, no, sloshing seems like the hour that you spent quiet in the room taking a little rest. They've probably moved on or whatever. I love they're not just outside the door great because the door is cold.

Dan (Wren):

Cold so probably wouldn't recognize that's true okay, cool, let's go towards the we, towards the metal whirring noises, right, yep yeah can I?

Chris (Salvador):

can I light a torch and leave it in this room? You can smart oh so

Dan (Wren):

the convey on fire with all the bedding and whatnot. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't know this place is ventilation.

Chris (Salvador):

It'll probably just burn the torch yeah, so just leave that there.

Timothy (DM):

All right, cool, you leave a torch in the room and you make your way off to the left. There's another intersection where there are two narrow hallways that go off in either direction, but it does continue on. Do you like to take a short detour into the narrow hallways off to the left and right?

Kai (Yonce):

no, I feel like we should just go to the worry. I don't know.

Dan (Wren):

I feel like they're my magical items on. Yeah, can I do a stealthy check, like a quick stealthy check down?

Russell (Upri):

yes, can we do a road cost benefit? Analysis of this hallway.

Dan (Wren):

I do have boots of elven kind now so I don't make noises when I walk. So I don't know if that helps me.

Timothy (DM):

So you're wearing crocs, leafy crocs, stealth check, investigation track and I'll just have you do both right and left real quick okay, so stealth is pink dice, investigation is blue dice.

Dan (Wren):

Blue green stealth is a nat one, which is investigation. Oh right, so that's. That's a seven for style. That's actually not that. Not as good as my other one Investigation, though I rolled a net 20 sets of 33.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, well, gorgeous, Okay so.

Timothy (DM):

I fall, but I see everything.

Timothy (DM):

To the right blink wall, except with your investigation. Check it's a trap door, not a trap door, a secret passageway down the left and in a door, a locked door.

Dan (Wren):

I'll open the door.

Timothy (DM):

All right, I'm assuming.

Dan (Wren):

I'm assuming I would see any traps, that one.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, no, no traps, just a regular show the door 22. You unlock the door and when you get in the room, it is a very small chamber, excellent when there is mechanical equipment.

Dan (Wren):

Anything of value.

Timothy (DM):

No, it's like a bunch of levers and like a control panel and like what looks like a boiler potentially.

Dan (Wren):

Is it like a storage room or is actually like actual operations kind of room, like are things attached to the walls?

Timothy (DM):

Things are attached to the walls. Yeah, yeah it looks like a mechanical nonsense control room.

Russell (Upri):

You found the water heater. Congratulations this secret passageway.

Dan (Wren):

Where does it go on the other side?

Timothy (DM):

You had passed an intersection earlier that when you look down at it you saw that it had the statues. It feels like it's another entrance to that room, okay.

Dan (Wren):

I don't want to go there. Okay, we're good.

Russell (Upri):

I come back.

Dan (Wren):

I come back stumbling around because you know now, well, what's the calculation? There's literally nothing. No, there's literally no profit. We should move on.

Timothy (DM):

But if you continue on you, I'm going to say that, like well, this is all happening. You do notice that there are holes in the walls where it looks like something tunneled through, and then Not aero holes again. There's like because it opens up into another chamber, and then you have, as you were, kind of waiting on an intersection, waiting for Ren to do his thing. You did notice that there were some statues along the right side of the room, but these are like gargoylesque.

Kai (Yonce):

I love that they don't look like gargoyles but, like they have that kind of vibe.

Timothy (DM):

They're just like creature type statues, so not like the construct automaton things that you've seen elsewhere on pedestals and behind barred doors.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, my experience bad things come out of holes and walls, so Play sports.

Kai (Yonce):

What? I don't know why I just said that let's keep going.

Chris (Salvador):

Are these? They seem like traps that would spring things like the tarts from the library you can get an investigation check, do I? Still have? How long did your bonus? That's the hours expense.

Dan (Wren):

I don't have any more. Yeah, definitely don't, but can I just assist you with that? Yeah, you just help me out. So yeah, add 13. That's a 29. So yeah, add 13.

Timothy (DM):

29. Yeah, yeah, these are traps. Okay, you, as you're like inspecting them that one over there.

Timothy (DM):

You can see that they all have these like little pipes in their mouths, because their mouths are all open, oh, pipes. So you're like, okay, something shoots out of that Gosh, sure. And with a 29, you do notice some pressure plates that are some of the tiles of the stone floor. A couple of the tiles, okay, are definitely pressure plates. And then, because we're kind of in that area and we got a 29, there's dirt by the hole in the wall to the left, just like because it is definitely dug. Something was dug here, so like dirt and rubble has built up at the mouth of the hole.

Timothy (DM):

This is not just like a cave in. This is something was burrowing here.

Russell (Upri):

Gotcha. Yeah, that's a big note.

Chris (Salvador):

So beware, beware. Trapped statues with pipes in their mouths, yeah, there are pressure plates on the ground.

Dan (Wren):

There, there, there, there, there.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, Just picture the Ren helping us find things is just grabbing the wrist and like moving it?

Dan (Wren):

Nope, it's over there.

Timothy (DM):

It's right there. There you go. There's one right there.

Dan (Wren):

And then we're just relaying to the rest of the group. You're like pointing?

Chris (Salvador):

and I'm like no, yes, correct no, I'm trying to everyone.

Kai (Yonce):

so I don't even, I'm not even paying attention, I'm like oh why why exactly is this place so trapped?

Chris (Salvador):

I thought that this was a mind slash dwarven society.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, truly what.

Timothy (DM):

Well, this room is L shaped and on the other, side of the room. You can see that there is an archway that opens up into a really large chamber. You can't really see too much of what's in the chamber, but it does look very big.

Dan (Wren):

Maybe this is ceremonial, so Okay, but I think if we cross, not stepping on any of these pressure plates will be fine. Yeah, yeah, sound good. How long is the hallway?

Timothy (DM):

How would you like to be moving?

Russell (Upri):

I fly.

Timothy (DM):

Fair. Don't wait, it's. It's. The room is L shaped and it's probably 90 feet across, and then it goes 90 feet.

Kai (Yonce):

Never mind, I can't miss.

Dan (Wren):

I can't miss the step through, that's what I can lead and show people where to step. Okay, does that sound good?

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, I mean you can't. If we had to characterize how we're moving through the room, I'll let, I'll let Sal do it.

Dan (Wren):

It might just be like, not that one Sal. No, no, no yeah.

Chris (Salvador):

I, I mark it with chalk where the directions to go.

Russell (Upri):

but what is 25 times?

Chris (Salvador):

15?. Yeah, you're slowly moving, it's like I'm putting a P on the pressure plate 300.

Russell (Upri):

So I can carry up to 375 pounds.

Timothy (DM):

It's watching Salvador draw on the pressure plate. Be like it's very likely.

Chris (Salvador):

But yeah, I lead, I go across and I make the hook and I Can you all give me a stealth check?

Dan (Wren):

Absolutely.

Russell (Upri):

Do I get advantage or disadvantage? Flying with giant wings?

Timothy (DM):

I'm going to give you advantage and you might understand why later.

Kai (Yonce):

When are we rolling?

Dan (Wren):

Stealth, I got a 15.

Russell (Upri):

15. 10.

Chris (Salvador):

10. Stealth is a 19. I got a 13.

Kai (Yonce):

But if that's bad, then I'm going to use pack of the talisman.

Dan (Wren):

Right, cause you bought mithril armor, so you no longer a disadvantage yeah.

Chris (Salvador):

And I can wear my regular clothes, they're nice.

Kai (Yonce):

Okay, it's 13, bad, horrible.

Russell (Upri):

Just a moment, is it horrible.

Dan (Wren):

It is the worst, no 10. Oh, just kidding.

Kai (Yonce):

I just want to know if I need to roll this.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, reroll. Or if you want to use your packed, I am, and how that's 13 plus four, 17. Oh, I have the oh right Of the walkers, that is also gonna.

Dan (Wren):

Walkers, the walkers, people who are walking that flying yeah, I have the worst.

Timothy (DM):

Does anyone not beat a 18? All right.

Russell (Upri):

And 17.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah.

Chris (Salvador):

Okay, so we got some failures. I'm kneeling on the ground.

Timothy (DM):

That's why I'm drawing the so as you're slowly making your way across this room, you start to feel the ground shake, just just a little. It's not like the rumbling that you've heard and felt when the city was like shaking, but there is definitely a rumble. And then you hear something coming from the tunnel. Is it purple or in the wall? I think so. How would you like to react to this new information?

Russell (Upri):

Who has the lowest howl?

Chris (Salvador):

I have 61. I have 88 79.

Russell (Upri):

I'm going to grab sound. Start flying forward, if you can decide.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, this is fun. Yeah, you start flying Towards the archway. I would like to dash towards the archway while avoiding pressure place.

Kai (Yonce):

I'm also going to dash.

Timothy (DM):

All right, gorgeous Yonsei and Ren, give me duck saves.

Kai (Yonce):

Question how far when this? How far are we from the end of the hallway, from where we are now?

Timothy (DM):

You are about halfway through the room, so 45 feet.

Kai (Yonce):

Honestly, I may misdestep it and just walk the 15 feet.

Timothy (DM):

All right, so you misdestep, but still give me a duck. Save for reasons.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, because ground is walking.

Timothy (DM):

Upper and Salvador do not have to do duck saves.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, because of the pressure points, yeah.

Kai (Yonce):

Also because worms.

Dan (Wren):

This is some tremors, nonsense where they're going to grab you.

Chris (Salvador):

You think multiple Like little baby worms.

Russell (Upri):

Not one giant purple worm.

Dan (Wren):

Well, I'm saying, tremor was, it was dex, oh yeah, the grab woods. I got a 14.

Kai (Yonce):

Refuse my inspirations right now.

Timothy (DM):

You are both going to pass as Yonsei trips over a trip wire, oh, and blades swing across the archway as a door slams down. He's able to barrel roll into the room as the door slam shut behind you.

Dan (Wren):

Do I make it? Yeah, we all made it, okay, yeah.

Timothy (DM):

I do. I wasn't sure because they misdestep, so they were ahead of me. Oh well, what are your dash? You're dashing.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, which is equivalent of misdestep and run.

Dan (Wren):

That's fair. I double dash so I can make.

Timothy (DM):

So you all end up into this chamber. The door slams shut. You hear that like the razor noise of blades cutting off blades. That's why I was like cutting off the doorway, the archway, and as you turn around you see a giant chamber.

Dan (Wren):

I whisper Tina and Balenciaga and both of my animated objects.

Russell (Upri):

And you have to whisper yell.

Dan (Wren):

I mean, I just have to say the word, but in an attempt to not draw attention to us.

Timothy (DM):

but I don't want to spend my action.

Dan (Wren):

If we get into combat right now, I don't want to spend the economy to do it.

Timothy (DM):

Gorgeous. So you shout. Tina and Balenciaga, you all look up as you've crossed over the threshold in this chamber and you see, in the center of the room, this massive contraption, 30 feet tall, with these rings. There are three rings around it with metal balls, two on each of the rings.

Timothy (DM):

So six balls on these rings around a central 30 foot tall sphere. The ceiling is like a hundred feet tall here and it's probably 200 feet wide, 200 feet deep of a chamber with a bunch of side rooms. As you examine the room, you see a small figure back turned to you, facing the mechanism in the center of the room holding a clipboard. You also notice above each of the side chambers in this room there is a placard Alpha wings, infinity an arrow, omega, trident, null.

Dan (Wren):

The arrow. The arrow is different. The arrow is new. I've seen the rest of them.

Russell (Upri):

One points to one side, one points to the other.

Timothy (DM):

I'm going to give you a handout.

Russell (Upri):

Oh no, what puzzle solving.

Timothy (DM):

The figure turns around. What are you all?

Dan (Wren):

doing.

Chris (Salvador):

Crying. I mean I wish I had hold person.

Dan (Wren):

I mean, I'm battle prepped.

Russell (Upri):

Hi, I'm Uppry.

Chris (Salvador):

I wonder if I can calm them down.

Russell (Upri):

I mean they could be friendly.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah.

Kai (Yonce):

Is it just one person?

Timothy (DM):

Five, four, three, two.

Chris (Salvador):

I cast Benjamin on them, Do you really?

Timothy (DM):

No, I don't oh one I can, oh, hi there.

Russell (Upri):

Hi, my name's Uppry. What's yours?

Timothy (DM):

They turn around and you see a short nomish woman, their hair pulled back into a loose bun, wearing a sweater vest and a tie holding a clipboard.

Russell (Upri):

Wow, that's a really magnificent. Who's your? What are you got there?

Timothy (DM):

What does it do? Oh, this I was hoping that you would know.

Russell (Upri):

Oh us, I just assumed it was yours.

Timothy (DM):

My name's Dax and I've been watching you for a while.

Dan (Wren):

Excuse me Okay.

Chris (Salvador):

Is that Dax, how it sounds or how it's a traditional spelling of Dax? That is a D-A-A-X.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, that's what.

Kai (Yonce):

I thought Like the drag queen.

Timothy (DM):

And I am a proud member of the secret secretary society Glad to officially meet you.

Timothy (DM):

And that is when we're going to go on a short break.

Timothy (DM):

We'll be back in 10 minutes, everybody.

Dan (Wren):

Yes, yes, yes. Secret secretary society.

Timothy (DM):

That's cute, and we are back. So just before break we met Dax, who is now weaving at the party in front of this giant contraption. So what brings you down here Is this More than likely, yes. Same same, same same. Any idea what it is?

Dan (Wren):

No.

Kai (Yonce):

How did you get past all the goopy?

Dan (Wren):

things. Yeah, how did you get down?

Timothy (DM):

here. Oh, I have my ways.

Kai (Yonce):

Row for damage.

Chris (Salvador):

What you have there on your clipboard.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, just taking notes trying to figure out what's going on down here. I uh. Since the rest of the government wasn't able to do anything about it, the secret secretary society has taken it under their wing. You mean the?

Dan (Wren):

Quakes, the Quakes yeah. Making sure that you're actually down here for the Quakes.

Russell (Upri):

Is this an aura?

Timothy (DM):

An orino. At least it doesn't look like it to me.

Russell (Upri):

What are the circles? You know they're not playing it.

Timothy (DM):

Uh, do not. No, uh, but there seem to be six of them, which at first I thought maybe it has to do with the chambers on the side. But you know there's seven of those, so it doesn't quite yet up.

Russell (Upri):

Well, I mean that one is an arrow, so maybe it's an exit.

Dan (Wren):

Have you been in the chambers yet?

Timothy (DM):

I've done a little bit of digging around, but I just arrived here myself. I figured I'd look into the Quakes, and uh, quakes.

Chris (Salvador):

Quakes, can I do an insight check on this person?

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, give me an insight check.

Chris (Salvador):

I kind of wish I would have attuned to my, to my true site thing, but we'll see how, Because secret secretary, uh, granted, there we have met a few secretaries in the business I got to yeah.

Timothy (DM):

I do Um.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, they seem perfectly normal. Yeah, that's a I mean normal is not the right word, but they seem perfectly fine. They've been pretty cheerful. Uh, they're postures very like friendly and they seem very relaxed.

Chris (Salvador):

Gotcha. Um well, nice to meet you, dax.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, nice to officially meet you.

Chris (Salvador):

Right because, you've been watching us.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, from the shadows. Yeah, why, if you couldn't?

Kai (Yonce):

warn us about those goopy people.

Timothy (DM):

Well, you're new to the city and we wanted to keep an eye on ya. That's our job at the secret secretary society. We keep things running here in the underkeep.

Chris (Salvador):

So have you seen us talk to anybody Like go into any businesses?

Timothy (DM):

Yeah.

Timothy (DM):

Wanna listen? I mean we are uh posted up at pretty much every office here in the underkeep.

Chris (Salvador):

Okay, so you've probably talked to Miss Pebble.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, beatrice Gallia Piniella P, Even Malroy.

Chris (Salvador):

No.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, interesting. You know, secretaries and bartenders have a lot in common. I love this conversation, but we have a city to save Um yeah, I'm hoping that you can help me out because I am stumped. Well, what do you have so far? Well, so far, I have all these weird little symbols up on the uh doorways. There, you see, we've got that a Alpha, alpha. How do you know that? The beginning, I don't know.

Dan (Wren):

It's just a normal pretty much.

Russell (Upri):

We're smart, I don't know it's. It was contrary to.

Dan (Wren):

Omega, so it's my assumption to that yeah.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, that little archway, there is Omega.

Dan (Wren):

Yes, so Alpha Omega, beginning and end oh.

Russell (Upri):

Weren't you watching when we did all those drugs and had visions?

Timothy (DM):

No, I don't watch you all the time. Oh also not just me that's been watching. There's a whole network of us.

Kai (Yonce):

Oh, even while we poop what I said, they're watching us. I'm assuming that it's not anything like that.

Timothy (DM):

We just keep an eye on things around the underkeep, anybody knew. We figure out what they're up to make sure that they're not going to do anything wrong around here. Okay, you know. A secretary's got to do our job.

Dan (Wren):

Right, but the second set of the second are the wings. The wings With the halo, yeah, symbol of heaven or the divine. And then, on the other side, you got the pitchfork, which is oftentimes a symbol of the hells or the evil. So, good and evil.

Timothy (DM):

Of which religion is that?

Dan (Wren):

All of them. It's pretty, it's pretty consistent. Oh, across multiple religions, okay, and then the infinity and null, everything and nothing.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, that's not just a zero, I mean, it is also a zero.

Dan (Wren):

It's a symbolization of nothing.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, interesting. Well, you all seem very knowledgeable about this. What else can you tell me? Well, that's about it. How'd you figure all that out?

Chris (Salvador):

Drugs, yeah drugs, it was actually drugs.

Dan (Wren):

Drugs yes, and Daphne. You know Daphne.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, of course we know Daphne Drugs and Daphne.

Russell (Upri):

I'm sure you hear that a lot.

Timothy (DM):

Interesting yeah, actually yeah. Actually, yeah, daphne does do a lot of drugs and she does have a lot of weird symbol things and has some very cryptic things around her. So, yeah, that checks out. Well, I did also notice that, like each of these sub rooms, they have these like weird little panel things.

Chris (Salvador):

Oh, okay, I didn't want to touch anything, just in case I break it, but you've taken notes of what's listed on the panels.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, same symbols, really Okay yeah.

Russell (Upri):

With these letters and numbers you know, each one corresponds to a ring and sphere.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah. So I don't know what the ring and the sphere has to do with it, because, again, I thought six spheres around a central sphere, but there are seven chambers, so, like, does the one in the center represent the seventh chamber? I don't really know about that. There's no symbols on the the spheres themselves, but each of the chambers has these. Well, all but one of them has this weird contraption. It's like this crystal in a jar and there's like a scale thingy. And then there are these numbers that are displayed on some window. Very interesting, I've never seen any technology like this. And then in the seventh chamber there's just this panel with like all the symbols on it and it just says power down and initiate.

Kai (Yonce):

So, using my educated guess as a half elf warlock, yonsei Bay, it feels as though that these letters and these codes correspond with each of these rooms, and I think we may have to drop them down or put them, activate them in the right order and then go to the seventh room and initiate it. So it keeps the, because it seems like the seventh room is the final room.

Chris (Salvador):

I wonder if this has to do with the splitting of the circles that we saw in our vision.

Timothy (DM):

And at that point you notice that the central sphere begins to glow and the rings start to spin around it. It starts to speed up just slightly and the whole room begins to shake, rumbling, and that humming noise that Salvador heard is coming from the sphere. The whole chamber shakes and you can hear that all like stone is crumbling, falling down around you, and you can only imagine that this has caused the city itself to shake as well.

Kai (Yonce):

I think this is this thing right here. It's what's powering the entire city, so we need to make sure that it stays activated, because it seems like it's failing.

Timothy (DM):

So well, and then it slows down and it comes back to a stop. The humming goes away and the rumbling stops as well.

Dan (Wren):

I think whenever this machine turns on, it's when the island, the city shakes.

Kai (Yonce):

So we need to power it down.

Dan (Wren):

I think so.

Chris (Salvador):

Dax, what department are you a secretary for? Well, I work for the Herbalist Guild, okay, do you know anybody in the Construction Guild?

Timothy (DM):

Well.

Chris (Salvador):

I know.

Timothy (DM):

Penelope. Penelope's secret yeah, she's in our secret secretary society. I know she's not a secretary, but middle management is very similar to secretary sometimes. We have a lot in common, just like bartenders.

Chris (Salvador):

So how did you find this place, and does Penelope know? Does anybody know about this other than you?

Timothy (DM):

Oh yeah, we've been meeting about this for weeks now.

Chris (Salvador):

Okay but no.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, we were hoping that the higher ups would do something about it, but it seems like it's another task for the secret secretary society.

Chris (Salvador):

Isn't that the case where a lot of work gets shrugged off from the higher ups onto the lower level? I admire your gumption.

Dan (Wren):

Well, thank you. Um, I'd like to do a little perusing of the outer rooms. While this is all without the chat, it's all happening.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah. So you veer off into one of the side rooms and, sure enough, you see this like glass vial with a crystal inside it. The crystal is suspended and then there are little like beads that are spinning around the crystal. At the top of the vial there's like this metal instrument that like sticks out and like has almost like a scale, like looks kind of like a scale, and there's a glass window that's balanced in between these two pieces. That reads 1118.

Dan (Wren):

Just like etched on the glass.

Timothy (DM):

Just like glowing on the glass, as if it was like a window, with new alpha numeric caricatures appearing on it.

Dan (Wren):

And as the are the two metal pieces, are they balanced right now?

Timothy (DM):

They're kind of like a skew, so the window itself is also kind of a skew.

Russell (Upri):

I thought exactly what happens when we push the buttons, or the buttons in the arrow room? I think they're there.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, up where you want to go into the arrow room. Yeah, they said so, sure enough, you get into the arrow room and there is a panel, the panel. You see that there's alpha, omega, the wings, the trident, infinity, null. Next to each one of them, you see a sphere. Four, sorry, four spheres, with arrow across arrow. What happens when I roll a sphere up on the panel, and then you have a power down button and an initiate button.

Russell (Upri):

I'm just kidding.

Timothy (DM):

So as you move the sphere around, you see a little window above. Each of these spheres start to change. So you start to see numbers and directional symbols. So, depending on how you turn it, so if you push it up, you see that the numbers start going up with an arrow pointing up. If you go over to the right, you see a number that says three right, and it changes the more you spin that arrow. So they're bi-directional coordinates times four that are being.

Kai (Yonce):

So I think I know what I would not rent, sorry, no, you go ahead.

Dan (Wren):

I think I know what's happening.

Kai (Yonce):

It seems as though that these glowy number and aphrodomeric symbols correspond to the four kind of for lack of better word boxes in this panel room, and I think we just need to align them using these spheres and then press either initiate or power down I don't know which one is the good or the bad one, and I kind of want to. So we know that in the alpha room it's 1118. So I'm going to take that and I'm going to run to the room and can I move the spheres to? So it points out 1118.

Timothy (DM):

You can. Are we doing one up, one down, one right through or left?

Russell (Upri):

We have the directional and there are no letters.

Kai (Yonce):

I don't get the directional part, but yeah, I think that's the missing piece.

Chris (Salvador):

In your experimenting, did you actually roll the ball in a direction?

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, it changes the numbers on the panel. You don't see any apparent change in the mechanism in the center of the room. There's no rumbling, no powering up or powering down going on, but it displays an arrow.

Russell (Upri):

which way I rolled it.

Timothy (DM):

It just displays on the panel.

Russell (Upri):

Can I do up left up, left? No, up right down, left AB.

Timothy (DM):

Up down, up, down, up left left, right AB.

Chris (Salvador):

sorry, I know what you're starting to do Unfortunately there is no equivalent to that in this.

Kai (Yonce):

Can I do an investigation check to see if I can get more information about these arrows to see how to correctly do?

Dan (Wren):

it yeah, give me an investigation check. Yeah, I don't understand the left and right.

Timothy (DM):

Give me an insight.

Timothy (DM):

check that would be more insight to understand the mechanism Moving the numbers down would be numbers on the left and right would be alpha.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, that's right. I'm not too, but they're all numbers and they're all directional.

Timothy (DM):

It's still insight. Investigation is defined stuff. It's 14. If you would like to look for a thing, Like a user manual in investigation. I will give you whether or not you find a thing I'm going to examine the ory thing in the middle.

Kai (Yonce):

I got a 14 for insight, but I'm also going to investigate if I can find a user manual, and that's a 15.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, 15. You look at the panel, you look at all the symbols, you try to piece it all together. You do make the correlation that there are four alphanumeric characters in each of the side rooms on the instruments, which would correspond with the four inputs on the panel. So, like that's a connection you make Beyond that hard to understand, you do not find any sort of user manual in this room. There's no papers, there's no library, there's no placards, nothing stuffed underneath the panel itself in the arrow room.

Chris (Salvador):

Did you look at the ory? Are there any markings on the ory?

Russell (Upri):

Oh, that's a 17 in investigation to examine the machine in the middle.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, you start to look at each of them and the spheres themselves are aligned with the room, the chambers, so that the rings that go around, they like go from alpha to omega zero to infinity, good to evil. So they're on those axes.

Kai (Yonce):

Oh, it seems like if I'm looking at the image correctly, I'll point so people can see it. It seems like all these balls are pointing in certain direction and all of them are kind. The only one that's actually aligned is the alpha, and if I'm way off, then let me know.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, that's just not, that's just because I picked it. Okay, never mind then.

Kai (Yonce):

I was gonna make something.

Russell (Upri):

Don't look into the image itself too much. It's a stamp.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, but they are aligned, so they're like between.

Timothy (DM):

They're aligned with the rooms. They're on the same axes as the room.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, so the little windows above the glass balls are currently empty, if we haven't touched them yet. Is that correct?

Timothy (DM):

They have numbers on them.

Dan (Wren):

Do they match up with what's currently in the rooms?

Timothy (DM):

No.

Russell (Upri):

There's no way to get them to display letters.

Timothy (DM):

No, they don't display letters, they just display numbers, and arrows. What?

Dan (Wren):

if I roll up past zero, like if I go one to zero, does it go circle back? It circles back. What if I do it right away?

Timothy (DM):

It goes to 26 and then we stop. Oh.

Kai (Yonce):

Wait, then wait, hold up, Pause, pause, pause, pause, pause, pause. Then I feel like I was doing it correctly. Then I was using the arrows to get to the numbers.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, the numbers are just.

Russell (Upri):

So the numbers are 26, correspond with alpha.

Kai (Yonce):

Yeah, but for alpha it's all numbers, so it would be 1, 1, 1, 8.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, but is it 1 up, 1 up, 1 up, 8 up, or is it 1 down, 1?

Timothy (DM):

down, 1 down, 8 down. You put 1, 1, 1, 8 into it of up and down. Anything happens, you just put the numbers into the dial.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, so when we're working with a number, we want to roll them up or down to get them to that number. When we're working with a letter, we want to roll them right or left to get them to the corresponding number to that letter in the alphabet.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, but what's the difference between 1 up and 1 down, versus like a left and a right? I don't think it matters maybe. Well, aren't there two sets of each? If there's a directional indicator, that's where my confusion is.

Kai (Yonce):

I think the direction is just directing us to. From what I see, it seems as though like the arrows are just pointing how to we get to the numbers in the letters. I don't know if they actually.

Chris (Salvador):

It's not like a coordinate system where you have 1 to 9 and then you have negative 1 to negative 9. Oh so, it. I think it's just a dial.

Kai (Yonce):

It's like the ball in a mess.

Chris (Salvador):

But to their point, they did put in 1, 1, 1, 8, right.

Kai (Yonce):

Can I press initiate.

Russell (Upri):

Maybe we wait till we have all the values in. So, without regard to directionality, can we fill in all the alphanumeric values and then hit initiate, I guess, or do we want to investigate more to figure out if the directionality means something? Well, I guess, if they're opposite, maybe they have to be opposite. So, like alpha would be, let's say all the ones and 8s are down, and then for omega, all the letters and stuff are up and right.

Kai (Yonce):

I think I'm confused by it. I think I'm confused of what the arrows actually mean.

Russell (Upri):

Correct.

Kai (Yonce):

If they actually mean anything or they just we don't know, we don't know what the arrows mean.

Timothy (DM):

So we're going to have to come to get to other letters and numbers. Yeah, I have a. When you roll the ball up, you roll it up once and the window will say 1 up arrow If you roll the ball down one.

Chris (Salvador):

It says 1 down arrow.

Timothy (DM):

So it does tell you in the window what you're at. And also if you roll it up and to the right 1 right.

Kai (Yonce):

Sorry, I'm confused, I'm really confused now.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, that's great, confusing.

Dan (Wren):

So, but I could roll it. I could roll it to say 26 right. If I wanted to, you could say 26 right. All the way to 26 right. So technically the farthest I could go is up 9, 26 right yes.

Chris (Salvador):

So Salvador is going to do a quiet pair to Tau.

Dan (Wren):

Please solve this puzzle for me. What?

Chris (Salvador):

I'm going to pray for some divine intervention. I highly doubt that anything is going to happen. But this is, sal is struggling and then, if one of us fails, we can go back to the puzzle. Yeah to 63. Nothing happens, all right, silence.

Kai (Yonce):

Do we have that image of like the how on the Cartesian plane where all those were?

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, they're not. They're not. That's this one. Yeah, I mean, they're the opposites like they're supposed to be, so maybe the significance is the up arrow is the entrance to whatever the next chamber is.

Dan (Wren):

That's my guess, or it's how to. It's the control panel for the device itself.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, it's in that chamber Hour down Right, right, right.

Kai (Yonce):

I don't know, I'm lost. Yeah, I'm a little bit. It's the arrows, that kind of.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah.

Dan (Wren):

Dax.

Russell (Upri):

Oh yeah, yeah, pc.

Dan (Wren):

I'm going to bring Dax into the control panel room and show them the up and down, right and left, how to like Nonsense.

Timothy (DM):

Or jumping right on in fiddling around with stuff. Okay, interesting, yeah, yeah.

Dan (Wren):

So does this like ring a bell to you after what you've seen Like upright to left?

Timothy (DM):

no, they look very perplexed and just shake their head.

Dan (Wren):

Helpful NPC.

Russell (Upri):

thank you, so on the map they look like there are four holes. Are those actually there visually around the machine Can?

Chris (Salvador):

we see there are four holes Windows.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, they look like holes in the floor.

Timothy (DM):

Oh, they're pillars. Those are actually there, okay. Okay, that's just the map All right just double checking.

Dan (Wren):

So for alpha if? We do 1118, all up, so just all in the same direction, or 8? Does the alpha, the contraption in the alpha room, change at all?

Timothy (DM):

No, okay, nothing that you're doing at the panel in the arrow room seems to affect the instruments in any of the other side chambers.

Dan (Wren):

Can I try and forcibly balance what's in out the room, alpha room, like you said, it's a little bit askew, right If I put weight on what's fine to balance.

Russell (Upri):

It does the numbers change. That's where the arrows come into play, balancing the scale. So we have to look at where the scales are in each room.

Timothy (DM):

So as you start fiddling with the balance, you see that the numbers start going haywire. Okay, what if I let go of it?

Dan (Wren):

Does it go back to where it was? It goes back to 1118.

Timothy (DM):

So if the alpha room is leaning to the right, and you see the 8 is flickering.

Dan (Wren):

Okay, that's helpful.

Timothy (DM):

It's just like 888888.

Kai (Yonce):

This feels like a scale. We weigh yourself. Yeah, I don't.

Dan (Wren):

I'm trying to push it on the bottom to reset it to 1118, just like tap it.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, the more you fuddle with it, the more characters start to flicker.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, okay, I'm just going to stop fiddling with it.

Russell (Upri):

So, if we go in the Omega room, what's the directionality of the scale?

Timothy (DM):

The Omega room 2B38.

Russell (Upri):

No, well, visually, is the scale leaning right or left, or is that not actually important?

Dan (Wren):

It seems like it's not important because that wasn't good.

Timothy (DM):

It's kind of like skewed and then kind of bent. They don't just go left and right, they kind of like.

Russell (Upri):

They go forward and backward too. Forward and backwards a little bit too. Yeah, Okay, is it forward and to the right?

Kai (Yonce):

Oh, I think I, so these are to balance the scales.

Timothy (DM):

I think I'm going to say that it's really hard to find a pattern in how they're shifted.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, so there is that 3B38.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, so the scales don't really matter. But like they are directional, they are directional, but they're like the way that the visual look of the scales doesn't.

Russell (Upri):

But if you tilting the scale changes the display, then the display is not a code but actually a reading of which way the scale is.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, so maybe they all need to reset to zero. When Ren was fiddling with it he couldn't get to stabilize on anything. And then the fact that he had, like, physically moved it the window was like having a hard time reading or displaying the number, and the more he did so, the more f'd up the window display window got.

Russell (Upri):

But that's indicative that the display is reading the scale and is not instructions.

Timothy (DM):

A scale, but probably not physically.

Chris (Salvador):

Can these crystals be removed from their files?

Timothy (DM):

You could break it open.

Chris (Salvador):

Okay, but they are not.

Timothy (DM):

They're too big to fit through the neck of the vial Okay.

Russell (Upri):

So we try inputting alpha in a way that would try to balance the scale and just head to the sheet.

Dan (Wren):

What is that? We don't know which direction the scale is facing. Then what does that even mean?

Russell (Upri):

It's right in kind of back. So I think we should all do left and down.

Dan (Wren):

Is it right in kind of back?

Chris (Salvador):

Whenever they were manipulating the balls.

Timothy (DM):

Wait pause.

Chris (Salvador):

Yes.

Kai (Yonce):

This is a question and I don't think I'm going to actually get an answer. Are we trying to get all these scales back to zero? So we're doing the number in the direction it is to get it to initiate back down to zero for all of them.

Timothy (DM):

I don't know why you're asking me that question is if I'm going to give you an answer.

Kai (Yonce):

I mean that's a sound logic. You're asking four people who don't know. I need clarity.

Timothy (DM):

I'm waiting for you all to do a thing, and I will tell you what it does when you do a thing. Question then Chris was also going to ask a question.

Chris (Salvador):

Manipulating the controls didn't affect the display in the room and it didn't affect the scale.

Timothy (DM):

Controls don't change any of the instruments in the room and the instruments are freestanding. They're just on a table in that room. You can pick them up, move them around, whatever you can take them out of the room if you want Back in the room. None of that seems to affect the display. Moving the dials doesn't seem to affect the central sphere or any of the rotating rings.

Russell (Upri):

Well, nothing does nothing.

Dan (Wren):

Got it. Everything does nothing.

Russell (Upri):

So I say I vote, we input something, hit, initiate, and then there's an emergency power down if it goes wrong.

Dan (Wren):

Fair A quick question.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah.

Dan (Wren):

I set if I roll the ball up to for it to say one up and then I roll the ball down, does it go back to zero or do I get one down next to it?

Timothy (DM):

It goes back down to zero.

Dan (Wren):

So you cannot have a both up and a down or a left and a right together.

Russell (Upri):

So I thought you, yeah, it can only be opposites. I think we should do one down, one down, one down, eight left for alpha and hit initiate and see what happens.

Dan (Wren):

Why left.

Russell (Upri):

I don't know, just a feeling.

Kai (Yonce):

I do feel as though, also, if it can go up down left right, maybe each number corresponds with a direction. So maybe it's for I'm.

Chris (Salvador):

I was like northeast west sound. Yes.

Kai (Yonce):

In the sense where it's like huh.

Kai (Yonce):

Based on the room location, no, just based on like each number corresponds, like, because you said the directions are up, down, left, right, so I'm assuming that when you so I'm going to go back into the 118 room. Okay, I'm following me here, mm-hmm. You set us a scale and it goes multi direction. I'm going to go if it's facing me. There's one, there's an up, there's a down, there's a left and a right. I'm just going to tap the right. Does all the numbers change or just one of the numbers change?

Timothy (DM):

It becomes completely unstable the moment you try to touch that. Like anytime you fiddle with the instrument, the numbers are unstable.

Chris (Salvador):

But he means on the controls, on in a in the arrow room right, no in the. Oh okay, no, yeah.

Dan (Wren):

You can't get it.

Timothy (DM):

You cannot manipulate it in a way in which you're able to really directly control any of the numbers.

Russell (Upri):

So I think we should.

Timothy (DM):

So, even like, no matter how delicate you try to press on it, it just goes haywire.

Kai (Yonce):

I think, I think we just need to I agree with Uppery and we need to just input all the letters and numbers into the panel and then I just don't know, like the it's the arrow part, like me, I, I'm thinking that each one corresponds with like a direction, so like it's one left, one up, one right, eight down, Q, like I feel, like it's that.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, like you need one for each cardinal direction, but that's not.

Dan (Wren):

So that's that. One problem is that that won't work for good, because if it's like Q left, we can't get to R right because up and down only go from zero to nine, so there could be no R up.

Kai (Yonce):

Well, that could also mean that not all of them not all of them have up or down or left or right. Some like the numbers are all up or down. So, hmm, numbers are always up or down, yeah, and then letters are all left and right, so maybe that's what I think.

Russell (Upri):

We just hit a button and see what the directions do.

Dan (Wren):

So do you want to try? All up and right. So all letters are right, all numbers are up.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, you're going to at least try that with Alpha Room, because it's all numbers.

Kai (Yonce):

So all right, so we're. So we're doing one one up, one up, one up. Eight. What? What did you want to do? Eight up.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah, yeah. So everything in the Alpha Room up, yeah.

Kai (Yonce):

And then we're going to press initiate to see what that does.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, so in this are you setting all of them on the entire panel for all of the rooms, or you're just doing Alpha?

Russell (Upri):

I mean we could guess, but I feel like I don't know. We should try Alpha. If it doesn't turn on, then we fill in the other numbers.

Chris (Salvador):

Yeah.

Russell (Upri):

But I don't think we should input too much data, because then it'll be harder to observe what's actually happening. Yeah, and remember what the data input was.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, okay, so you are only doing the Alpha Mm-hmm and you're going only up right, oh yep. So you're doing one up, one up, one up, eight up.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, yes, hi, balenciaga and Tina, before we press, initiate, because columns and stuff, column traps and whatnot.

Timothy (DM):

All right. And then you hit initiate, mm-hmm, everybody roll, initiative, that's what's figured I can't be surprised.

Dan (Wren):

As a reminder Me neither.

Kai (Yonce):

That's 20.

Dan (Wren):

Right.

Kai (Yonce):

I don't like this. Right now I'm so confused.

Dan (Wren):

Yeah, I'm also a bit stumped on the directional bits.

Kai (Yonce):

I got a nine.

Russell (Upri):

LinkedIn.

Timothy (DM):

And Salvador.

Chris (Salvador):

I got five.

Timothy (DM):

All right. So who hits initiate?

Russell (Upri):

I guess I do.

Timothy (DM):

All right, up-re palms that initiate button and as she does so, you see the numbers on the panel. They start to slowly move. So you put in one, one, one, eight. Now all four of them start to move at once. You hear this mechanical whirring and this glow behind you from the central mechanism as it starts to power up. You hear the rings start to speed up and as this is all happening, the room begins to rumble. Everything begins to shake, and this is a intensely aggressive shake. Everybody, give me a dexterity saving throw 25.

Russell (Upri):

Natural 20.

Kai (Yonce):

Eight 19.

Timothy (DM):

Okay, yance is thrown on their ass. As this room begins to just aggressively shake, you're in like an earthquake situation. Stone starts to fall from the ceiling, crashing down into the room. Ren, what do you do?

Dan (Wren):

I hit the power down button.

Timothy (DM):

You slam the power down button and you see and hear the mechanical whirring power down and everything falls silent, so maybe we set them all next time.

Russell (Upri):

But I mean, if they're not balanced, then that's an even more violent.

Timothy (DM):

The glow of the central mechanism fades and it is now completely inert.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, problem solved, we did it.

Dan (Wren):

Let's just break it while we're here we shut it down.

Russell (Upri):

Do you want to rip the panel off out of the floor?

Timothy (DM):

It's completely inert, so like when you walked in the room it had like a glow to it and now it's completely inert.

Dan (Wren):

My video game senses are like if we solve this, we get some kind of boon, we get some sort of blessing.

Chris (Salvador):

You know, this is a demonic mechanism that will destroy the world. What is a?

Russell (Upri):

dwarven mechanism, we create a singularity.

Chris (Salvador):

It's got to be evil dwarves, but where did?

Dan (Wren):

the dwarves all go.

Timothy (DM):

They just up and left. It was abandoned.

Dan (Wren):

They couldn't control it.

Russell (Upri):

Maybe they opened the portal to another dimension and then left and never came back.

Dan (Wren):

Yes, but Daphne did see this in our future. My only hesitation is that Daphne specifically saw this in our future Right, and unfortunately, daphne's vision didn't give us any hints on what direction things are facing. They were just dividing.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah.

Kai (Yonce):

Could it mean that the numbers correspond to the actual opposite of the? I don't know.

Chris (Salvador):

Oh, it's like you have to put the number in the opposite room.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, would you like to do any investigation of the side chambers?

Chris (Salvador):

Oh, the ones that we passed. What do you mean that could be?

Russell (Upri):

documents.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, there's like Tell us how the machine works. I was thinking that Somewhere else in the dungeon that big library.

Timothy (DM):

Somewhere else in the dungeon.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah.

Timothy (DM):

I meant the side chambers in this room, didn't you are? The door did close behind you.

Russell (Upri):

Oh, I thought we looked. I thought someone went around, glanced in every room and there was just the same room.

Timothy (DM):

Yeah, we checked we wouldn't have all the numbers. Yeah, exactly, you went and you checked all the numbers, you checked all the instruments in each of the rooms.

Chris (Salvador):

Oh, there might be something else that we didn't.

Dan (Wren):

I will investigate the chamber. I'll help Yance at 13 to that.

Timothy (DM):

Yance did an investigation 31. Well, Yance, as you're going around again to all these rooms, you're like I don't fucking understand what's going on.

Timothy (DM):

Something is missing.

Timothy (DM):

There's got to be something to tell us how to solve this puzzle. And you're thinking of it as a puzzle. You get to the alpha room and you look at the instrument and it now reads 2, 2, 2, 6.

Russell (Upri):

Yeah, so we reset them to 0. 6.

Dan (Wren):

Oh, because it it was 6.

Russell (Upri):

Because it stops at 9 and then carries over, it starts back again at 0 or 1. So it went up 1 to 9, then went up again to 1, and then went up again to or no 0 and then to 1.

Kai (Yonce):

So I think I am. So it doesn't, matter what direction.

Russell (Upri):

You said 2 to 9. No, we want to put 8, 8, 8, 8, 2.

Dan (Wren):

Now, oh, 8, 8, 8, 4. And we'll bring them all to 0.

Kai (Yonce):

What are we doing?

Dan (Wren):

We're going to do down 2.

Kai (Yonce):

Wouldn't it be down 2, down 2? Down 2. Wait, this is Okay. I think this is what I was trying to get at and I don't think I made myself clear when I was doing it. I was trying to say I want to get them down to 0. I guess I didn't explain. Okay, I think I'm understanding this now.

Russell (Upri):

But if the counter resets in either direction, it doesn't matter, because it just depends which way we're counting to get it to 0.

Kai (Yonce):

Exactly so the numbers from 26, we just I knew I was on the right direction.

Timothy (DM):

I just set it, I just said it again. I'm all sure to hear a static in your heads, a daff, daff, daff, daff, daff, daff, and then a faint voice starts to ring through your head. Are you all okay? Is something wrong?

Dan (Wren):

Everything's fine. What happened?

Kai (Yonce):

Hold on, was there a?

Dan (Wren):

large earthquake.

Timothy (DM):

The university just collapsed.

Chris (Salvador):

Oh goodness.

Timothy (DM):

The city is falling Okay quickly now, and that is where we're going to end this session. No.

Russell (Upri):

We're not going to remember the puzzle.

Timothy (DM):

I don't remember the puzzle.
