We finish our discussion of the Karate Kid with a look at it's cultural relevance and impact.
A movie that spawned numerous other properties. Multiple movies, a 6 season tv show and a couple of video games.
Not to mention that it launced thousands of dojos across the country.
This movie was hugely influential and came at the right time.
but where does it stand in the wider cultural?
Why isn't it aknoweldge more that Danny is Italian and from Jersey?
Where are the minorities other than Mr. Miyagi?
What else is going on in the world at this time?
