What Does the Bible Say?

Even though God has been clear that He will bring the Israelites out of Egypt, Moses is still skeptical and asks God "what if" scenarios.  We see God use ordinary items of a staff, water and even Moses' arm, to reassure Moses that the Israelite people will listen and follow him.  God instructs Moses to use the powers demonstrated to him as a way to convince the people God is with Moses and them.

After more pleading to God to assign someone else, Moses does depart to Egypt with his family.

  • Is it ok to try and get out of what God is sometimes impressing us to do?
  • What powers does God give to Moses to reassure him?
  • Can we ever entice God's anger to 'burn' against us by questioning Him too many times?
  • How does God provide reassurances to us  that what He is calling us to do is actually Him?
