Join us on this episode of Fishing the DMV as we sit down with Fishery Biologist John Odenkirk who has 33 years of experience with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources! John has a 1985 BS in Fisheries from Virginia Tech, 1987 MS Fisheries from Tennessee Tech, as well as 3 years of experience as a biologist with the USFWS in Florida. John was one of the first ones to investigate the Northern Snakehead in Virginia waterways. You’ll hear the progression of this story from the beginning to present day. John is also the state management lead on Lake Anna and the Rappahannock River above Port Royal. Virginia is lucky to have this guy watching over our waterways so listen in and see what you think of his expertise and experience.
