If you’ve been posting, showing up, trying to stay consistent… and still not making the sales you want?

This episode is going to hit.

In this episode of Boss Lady Social, Courtney Sjoberg Davini breaks down 5 content creation mistakes that are quietly killing your online business sales, and what to do instead.

These are the things most people don’t realize they’re doing… but they’re the exact reason your content isn’t converting.

💡 What you’ll learn in this episode:

  • Why using AI the wrong way is making your content sound like everyone else
  • How to get out of a content rut (without forcing yourself to “be creative”)
  • Why talking your content out loud will change everything
  • The hidden downside of following people in your niche
  • Why repeating your message is the key to building trust and making sales
  • How niching down one more level can unlock way more clarity and conversions

🔥 The truth most people won’t tell you:

You don’t need more content.
You don’t need better hooks.
You don’t need to be more consistent.

You need to fix the way you’re thinking about content and sales.

Because in today’s trust economy, people aren’t buying from the most polished… they’re buying from the most clear, consistent, and real.

⚖️ My Go-To Online Business Attorney

Quick shoutout to my biz bestie and attorney, Natalie Puglisi.

If you’re running an online business and don’t have your contracts, legal protection, or backend set up properly… this is your sign.

She’s been in my corner for years, and she’s the person I trust when it comes to:

  •  Contracts
  •  Client agreements
  •  Protecting your business
  •  And making sure you’re actually covered as you grow

Here is her website, Hey Contract, I highly recommend having someone like her in your world.

🎯 If this is you…

  •  “I feel like I’m posting but nothing is converting”
  •  “My content looks good but it’s not making money”
  •  “I don’t know what to say anymore”
  •  “I feel stuck / burnt out / in a rut”

Then this episode is for you.

Hello, hello, hello, and welcome back to Boss Lady Social. I’m your host, Courtney Sjoberg Davini, and today we are talking about sales.

Specifically, if you feel like you aren’t “connecting” with your ideal clients, you’re not making sales, or you’re just in a creative rut when it comes to content that actually sells your offers.

If you’ve ever felt that way, buckle up. I’ve got five tips for you that are a little out of the box, and I truly believe one of these is going to be your “aha” moment.

And if you do get that moment, I would love if you left a review, especially on Apple Podcasts. Every review helps this podcast reach more female entrepreneurs, and my mission is to help more women make more money. Because when we put more money in the hands of good women, we make the world a better place.

Alright, let’s get into it.

Tip 1: Stop outsourcing your creativity to AI

This might sound obvious, but it’s something I’m actively working on right now.

In 2026, I know you’ve used AI. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, all of it. And listen, I love AI. I use it all the time.

But I don’t use it to write for me. I use it to help me think.

Because when you outsource all of your creativity, your captions, your emails, your sales pages, your voice starts to disappear.

And not only that, you start to sound like everyone else.

Think of it like this. You can’t outwork a bad diet. If you’re eating like crap and trying to work out, it doesn’t balance out.

Same thing here.

If AI is doing all the input, your output isn’t really yours anymore.

So I challenge you to take a break. Not forever, but use AI as a tool, not a crutch. Use it to brainstorm, and then actually create from your own brain.

Tip 2: If writing feels hard… talk instead

I am a verbal processor. That’s why I love podcasting.

If writing feels hard, stop trying to force it. Use talk-to-text. Call a friend. Say your ideas out loud.

I promise you, it will flow so much better.

Having a biz bestie is huge here. Someone you can talk through ideas with.

For me, that’s my biz bestie, Natalie Paglisi. She’s an online business attorney, and we’ve been friends for years. We talk about life, business, everything, and it constantly sparks new ideas for me.

If you don’t have someone like that yet, join a networking group, a coaching program, or even a Facebook group. That’s where I met most of my business friends.

Speaking your ideas out loud will unlock things that staring at a blank screen never will.

Tip 3: Unfollow people in your niche

This one’s a little spicy.

Go into your Instagram, TikTok, wherever you spend time, and unfollow people in your niche.

Not because they’re bad. But because constant consumption leads to unintentional imitation.

You start sounding like them without even realizing it.

And the truth is, your power comes from being you.

Every few months, I clean up who I follow. I keep it small so I can stay clear in my own voice.

Because if you’re constantly consuming content from people in your niche, it’s almost impossible to stay fully original.

Tip 4: Stop trying to be “special”

You are already special.

You don’t need to be more entertaining, more aesthetic, or more impressive.

You just need to be clear and consistent.

You only need to be one or two steps ahead of your client to help them.

I built an entire business talking about hashtags for four years. The same message, over and over and over again.

And people kept coming back because repetition builds trust.

We are in a trust economy. People need to hear your message 27 to 40 times before they buy.

So if you’re constantly jumping from topic to topic, it’s going to take way longer to convert.

You don’t need to entertain. You need to educate and repeat.

Tip 5: Niche down one more level

This is something I heard from Adam at Podcasting Business School, and it stuck with me.

Niche down one more level.

When I stopped talking about “social media” and started talking specifically about hashtags, that’s when I made a million dollars.

Specificity creates clarity. And clarity converts.

So instead of trying to talk to everyone, get more specific about who you’re talking to and what you help them with.

You can always expand later. But right now, being more specific will make your content easier to create and way more effective.

Quick recap:

Use AI as a tool, not a replacement.
Talk instead of forcing yourself to write.
Unfollow people in your niche.
Repeat your message instead of reinventing it.
And niche down one more level.
