If you’re exhausted from trying to post more content and still not making consistent sales, this episode will change the way you think about marketing.

Here’s the truth most people are not saying:

  •  You don’t need more content
  •  You need more conversations

In this episode of Boss Lady Social, I break down how to get clients faster without posting more content, especially if you are a busy mom, service provider, or online business owner who is burnt out from constantly showing up online.

If I had to start my business over from scratch, no audience, no email list, no followers, I would not start with content.

I would start with conversations.

And in this episode, I walk you through exactly what that looks like in real life, and how you can start doing it this week.

What you’ll learn in this episode:

  •  How to get clients faster without relying on social media growth
  •  Why posting more content is not the answer to low sales
  •  The real reason your content is not converting
  •  A 7-step networking strategy that actually leads to paying clients
  •  How to clearly explain what you do so people can refer you
  •  Why conversations convert faster than content
  •  How to turn everyday interactions into business opportunities
  •  The follow-up strategy most entrepreneurs skip, and how it costs them sales
  •  How to build trust faster through offline and real-life connection

This episode is for you if:

  •  You are a mom in business who feels overwhelmed by content creation
  •  You are posting consistently but not seeing sales
  •  You do not want to be on your phone all day
  •  You want real ROI marketing strategies, not “post more” advice
  •  You want to get clients faster without burning out

The big takeaway:

You are not one viral post away from consistent income.

You are one conversation away from your next client.

Your homework:

  •  Talk to 3 new people this week
  •  Get at least 1 contact (Instagram is the easiest)
  •  Follow up with at least 1 person

No pitching required. Focus on connection.

Connection builds trust.
 Trust leads to sales.

If I had to start my business over from scratch, no audience, no email list, no online presence, I would not start with content.

I would start with conversations.

Hello, hello, hello, and welcome back to Boss Lady Social. My name is Courtney Sjoberg Davini, and today we are going to talk about connection.

Now, a fun fact about me, because you might be listening to this and thinking, “I’m super shy” or “I’m super introverted” — that’s okay. This is a skill you can build. There are ways to do it that feel really good, and ways that don’t.

I recognize that my biggest skill is connection. I’ve had it my whole life. I can talk to anybody, no matter their age or background. And honestly, at the end of the day, sales is just being able to talk to people — especially if you know how to do it without being salesy. No used car salesman vibes over here.

A couple days ago, I did something kind of crazy.

I’m a newer mom. My daughter is almost two. And for those of you who don’t know, I had a huge life shift right before I got pregnant. My entire business was stolen, I had to file bankruptcy, and the day after court, I found out I was pregnant after trying for a year.

My life looks completely different than it did four years ago.

And now, almost three years later, I feel about 90% healed. Not fully, but enough to start putting myself out there again. That’s honestly a big reason why I started this podcast.

So… I decided to become a cheerleading coach.

And you might be like, what does that have to do with business? Stay with me.

There’s a woman who helped me buy my house — my lender — and we stayed connected on Facebook. Her daughter does cheer. I used to cheer in high school and dance competitively growing up, so it’s always been a passion of mine.

I saw her post that they needed coaches… so I put my name in.

And honestly, in business, a lot of growth comes from being willing to put your name in the hat when it feels uncomfortable.

I got picked.

We had a meeting at a local tap house, and I showed up — cute outfit, no kid, fully in my “I’m a human again” era.

I sat down, started talking… and by the end of the night:

  •  I made multiple new friends
  •  Got phone numbers
  •  Added people on social
  •  Stayed until I was one of the last three people there

And it felt SO good.

And it hit me:

👉 If you want to grow online, you have to be willing to grow offline too.

So here are 7 ways to do that:

1. Go where your people are

Events, groups, classes, communities — but be intentional.

I didn’t randomly go to that cheer meeting. My ideal client is moms. There are 120 kids in that program… which likely means 120 moms.

Out of those moms?
5–20 probably own businesses or know someone who does.

If you’re not in the room, you can’t be referred.

Same thing applies:

  •  Gym classes
  •  Kids activities
  •  Community events
  •  Even Facebook groups

2. Get off your phone and participate

Be present.

If in-person networking scares you, start somewhere comfortable:

  •  A hobby you enjoy
  •  A class you’d naturally go to
  •  A space where your people already exist

3. Know how to clearly say what you do

If someone asks, “What do you do?” and you say:

“I do marketing…”

That doesn’t open anything.

Instead, say something like:
👉 “I help moms in business turn their content into actual sales.”

Now they understand AND can refer you.

If people don’t understand you, they can’t refer you.

4. Lead with curiosity, not pitching

Ask questions. Be genuinely interested.

The best networkers are not the loudest, they’re the most interested.

Examples:

  •  “I love your dress, where did you get it?”
  •  “Do you have kids?”
  •  “What do you do?”

By the end of the night, I was having deep conversations with women I had just met.

Because I actually care.

5. Offer value naturally

At the cheer meeting, I overheard them talking about fundraising.

So I pulled someone aside and said:
“Hey, I do marketing for a living. If you need help raising money, I’m your girl.”

No pitch. No pressure. Just value.

BUT:

  •  Only offer what you actually have capacity for
  •  Make sure it’s genuine

6. FOLLOW UP

This is where most people drop the ball.

Networking without follow-up is just socializing.

Do this:

  •  Add them on Instagram
  •  Send a message
  •  Follow up later

And stop worrying about being “annoying.”

What’s the worst that happens?
 They don’t respond.

You’ll live.

7. Be the same person online and offline

This is HUGE.

My favorite compliments:

  •  “I love your energy”
  •  “You’re exactly the same in person as online”

That’s the goal.

If there’s a disconnect, people feel it — and they won’t trust you.

Bonus: Stop waiting to feel ready

Stop waiting for:

  •  The perfect outfit
  •  The perfect moment
  •  Someone to go with

I go places alone ALL the time.

And 99.9% of the time?
I leave with a new connection.

Your homework:

This week:
👉 Talk to 3 new people
👉 Get at least 1 contact (Instagram is easiest)
👉 Follow up with at least 1 person

Not to sell.
 Just to connect.

You don’t need more followers.

You need more CONNECTION.

You are one room away from your next client.

If you’re meeting people and they’re not converting, it’s probably a messaging problem.

And I can help you with that.
