No One's Looking Podcast
This is a storytelling podcast hosted by Melanie Kaye. We share real life stories in the hopes that we can connect and understand people on a deeper level. We aim to create an environment that allows our guests to exhibit their passions, life lessons, and share their personal truths. We're here to showcase real world experiences where no one’s looking - a platform for you to voice who you are, without the prying eyes of the conventional world. We invite you to join us for an episode (or two) and, hopefully, start to feel a little more human together. Send us your own stories to be featured on the show! No One's Looking Podcast
S1, E13 I Didn't Know I Was Being Groomed
Do you feel like you identify with your heritage? Have you ever been ostracised because of the way you look? What are some of the different cultures you grew up with? Do you know what the red flags are for an abusive relationship?
These are some of the questions we dive into in this episode, with our guest Antoinette. We go on a journey of Antoinette's challenges growing up in Zimbabwe, and moving to different parts the world. What it was like growing up with a big family, but still not feeling like you identify with your own heritage. Also, how coming from a big family can overlook the abuse that was hiding in plain sight. Melanie shares her own story of being in a grooming situation, and we all discuss the ways we can become stronger people through experiencing trauma.
Check out our Patreon extended episode, where we share even more stories, and hear more about Antoinette's background!
