Road To Redemption

Kyle Hart's Testimony - Finding Peace Through Faith

Road to Redemption Season 4 Episode 25

Kyle Hart never expected to be pulled from the parking lot into a podcast recording, but as he explains in this powerful episode, following the Holy Spirit's prompting often leads to unexpected divine appointments.

With disarming honesty, Kyle shares the foundational moment of his faith journey—when, as a five-year-old plagued by fears of death, his grandfather's simple yet profound response changed everything: "I'm not afraid to die. I know where I'm going and I've lived a good life." This early introduction to resurrection power remained with him through subsequent decades, though its full significance wouldn't crystallize until years later.

The conversation takes a fascinating turn as Kyle unpacks his understanding of the Holy Spirit—that "gut feeling" many believers have experienced but might not recognize. "I've been trying to block that for the last 15 years," he admits, reflecting on how his professional training had conditioned him to ignore spiritual promptings. His explanation of our tripartite nature—spirit, soul, and body—provides listeners with practical insights into how God communicates with us and how we can respond.

Perhaps most compelling is Kyle's vulnerable reflection on spiritual maturity. Through recent conversations with mentors, he's come to understand that true spirituality isn't measured by knowledge or even ministry involvement, but by inner peace, compassionate awareness, and purposeful growth. His realization that "if you're not walking in peace, then you're not yoked to the Prince of Peace" serves as a powerful barometer for authentic faith.

For anyone feeling lost or hopeless, Kyle's advice cuts straight to the heart: "Run to Jesus. Wherever you think you've seen him, might have seen him, believe he might be." Take that first step—pick up the Bible, find a Christ-centered church, join a small group. The Prince of Peace is waiting to meet you exactly where you are.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to Road to Redemption, a show sharing powerful life testimonies, giving hope to those on their own road to redemption.

Speaker 2:

Welcome to Road to Redemption. This is John Martin, your host. We're so excited. We've got a great guest today, my friend Kyle Hart. Kyle, how you doing.

Speaker 3:

I'm so well, I'm glad to be here with you and man. I decided to break into it.

Speaker 2:

Well, I just grabbed you out of the parking lot today. Let's, let's be honest. I was like you know, hey, we, we, we got to get, get, get a great show. And we saw you out in the parking lot and I said this guy, I've been wanting to talk to Kyle for a long time. I know you're a man of God, I know you've got a great, great story. It's going to help a lot of people. That's the whole purpose of this show is to reach the lost and give hope to people out there.

Speaker 3:

So, Kyle, tell us a little bit about you, so I'll start with who I am, and part of that is desperately seeking to be where God is and do what he's doing. I was in the parking lot and I saw you and I felt like we were going to have a conversation. And then I went to leave and I was so stirred that I turned back into the parking lot, parked right where I was expecting to talk to you, and then you came over and the Holy Spirit said get out of the car. And I expected we were going to have an interesting conversation, like one of the first conversations we had. And we are having an interesting conversation like one of our first.

Speaker 3:

A friend of mine and I was with him yesterday. He's a mentor in my life, but we were at a men's meetup and he and I and you prayed together. And then it was a few weeks later that you and I prayed again and I heard a man's name and that name was significant to you. And this is just another one of those kind of events. Oh, wow, I see us all in this Holy Spirit river kind of moving together and we bump into each other, but we're all going forward and this seems to be another one of those kind of events. I want to be where Holy Spirit is and with what Holy Spirit's doing. And again it seems like we're doing that right now and I praise God. I'm blown away. I was telling you and Neil when we came in here just how good are you? I was so convicted to turn back in. Cool, I was a moment away from missing this opportunity, not that it just to see God.

Speaker 2:

And Kyle. I'll tell everyone to listen a little bit. When I first met Kyle I'm in real estate is what I do for my business and I was asking Kyle what he did and he said you know I have a title company that closes transactions real estate transactions and I said what's it called? He said Bright Light Land Title and I said wow, that's really bold to you know, you're putting your faith out there, which I love. Tell us a little bit about you and how did you come to know Jesus?

Speaker 3:

know Jesus. I knew about Jesus as a small child and was introduced to him through the Catholic faith, but really through my mother and father initially mostly my dad and then I had a dramatic thing happen at age five where not to go too deep into it, but my grandfather who's sort of been the bedrock of my faith, and I didn't know it at the time at five, but I caught him praying and I was very concerned about dying at this time. I had brought these concerns to a coach who was driving me home from practice and I said you know, mr So-and-so. I said are you afraid to die? And I could see on his face, even at five, like he did not want to have this conversation with me and he said, oh, you don't need to worry about dying, you're young. And then the weekend came and I was at my grandfather's house and I came with my grandfather my grandfather's Polish and so I'm half Polish and I said to him Jadu, are you afraid to die? And he paused and I didn't know this at five, but as I reflect on it now, he was thinking about what to say to me and if he's anything like I am now, he was saying God, what do? I say to this boy when are you, lord, what are you doing? And he said to me I'm not afraid to die, I know where I'm going and I've lived a good life. And then he invited me to pray with him. And so we got down on our knees where he was praying by his bedside and we said the Our Father. And I didn't know back then at five, though I knew the Our Father, growing up Catholic that that was such a bedrock thing to give me. I'm afraid of death. And he introduced me to resurrection power. That's awesome.

Speaker 3:

And for years, as I worked through the, the faith, I would have these dreams of rebuilding my grandfather's house. And it wasn't the house that he lived in, he had a second home, which is, you know, if you think about that symbolically, it's pretty. You know we get caught up building right here on earth, but we're really doing is storing up in heaven. And so in the dream I'm always tearing down his home and it's down to the foundation. And when I had started doing some men's ministry at my office, bright light lands, idol, a catholic missionary of all people, came through and in my office, like nine different houses of worship come, uh, every once a week and we gather, we break into the, we praise, we worship and we go deeper into the word which is Jesus Christ.

Speaker 3:

But years ago, when I first started, a Catholic missionary came and I told him the recurring dream. I was like I don't know if I believe. I don't know if I believe in dream interpretation, this, that and the other thing, but I keep having this dream and I can't get away from it. I'm rebuilding my grandfather's house and it's down to the foundation. He says it's down to the rock. What do you think that foundation is? It's faith in Jesus Christ. And so that's sort of me coming to faith. We just don't realize the power of those before us who are praying for us. And also, there's something in the blood. When you decide you're a believer in Jesus Christ, there's something in the blood. When you decide you're a believer in Jesus Christ, there's something in that blood.

Speaker 3:

That covers your legacy and your lineage. That I don't fully understand, but I'm grateful for.

Speaker 2:

Amen. Wow, well, that's great. I know you're bold about your faith. You pray for people, you encourage people, you encourage people. You know we were talking about the Holy Spirit a minute ago, how he kind of brought this show together today. But a lot of people out there don't really even know what the Holy Spirit is. I mean, this show reaches a lot of folks that you know just aren't sure, feeling lost, without hope. Talk to anybody out there that doesn't really maybe believe in a God or what is the Holy Spirit?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that was the biggest thing that changed my faith. And when I found out that that's Holy Spirit, I remember the moment of sitting here at Destiny Worship Center years ago, up in the bleachers, listening to Pastor Steve, and he said you know that little gut feeling and you know different theology, but it's not a gut feeling. Well, it starts with it's hitting your core and that's the Holy Spirit hitting your spirit. Not to get too complicated, but we are a spirit, a soul and a body. I think it's 1 Thessalonians 5, verse 23. And there's three parts to you. Your soul is your heart, that's the things you love. It's also your mind, it's the things you think about. And your heart and your mind is a part of your will, which is your decision-making. So your spirit, your soul and your body, and those things within your soul that I just mentioned your heart, your mind and your decision-making they move what you do Now. A soul turned over to the things of the spirit is going to align with the will of God. A soul turned away from the things of the spirit is going to live its own life and build its own kingdom.

Speaker 3:

I remember sitting there and Pastor Steve said that gut feeling is this Holy Spirit trying to reach you and at this point you know I'm almost 30 years old 15 years ago and I'm thinking that's the Holy Spirit. I've been trying to block that for the last 15 years. All my education, all my training as an engineer, as a guy in the military, then as a lawyer I'm like I've been doing all I can to have. These are the things I should love, these are the things I should think about. These are my decisions. All influenced by people and pushing out God. Or you don't even realize it. Sometimes it's not people that are influencing you. We pushing out God, or you don't even realize it. Sometimes it's not people that are influencing you. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, it's a real enemy that wants to get you to turn away from God. And so when Pastor Steve said that, I was like and that was it, so I started going to men's groups and there'd be this thing at like the center of mass of my body that would be like this is, this is for you, and I started calling it a gut feeling. But the more that I turned my soul over to the Spirit, I can walk into a room and I can feel heaven moving. It's not just a little gut feeling anymore, it's a whoa. The presence of heaven is here and that can be the angelic, that can be the power of God for healing, that can be a word of knowledge for prophecy, it can be a bunch of different things, but with every bit of your soul that you give to God, he uses it.

Speaker 3:

Pastor Steve, a couple weeks ago, was talking about Genesis 1, the very beginning. If you want to go anywhere, start at Genesis 1. God's there, the father, and then holy spirit hovers over the deep and the dark and people just think that's like the nothingness of the universe. That's your soul too, the deep, dark recesses of your soul. And it says the holy spirit hovers and a word for that can be incubate. He's ready, he's ready to introduce you to the father. And then what comes after after that? What comes after that? Genesis 1, 3, the light, the resurrection, power of Jesus.

Speaker 3:

And going back to, how did I come to God? Growing up Catholic and this is not a knock on Catholic I do life with Catholics. My primary men's group I do with a Catholic which is God's, got a sense of humor, and so we work that out. They're spirit-filled Catholics and I love them. I do too, yeah, but one of the things that I was frustrated with was I felt like that was kind of taken away from me. Who the Holy Spirit was. Another thing I thought growing up the way I grew up and this is just how I grew up and how I came to understand it in my upbringing what do I need Jesus Christ for? I'll just go to the Father. So now I don't have faith in Jesus the way I ought to. I didn't have a relationship with Holy Spirit at all and I'm just trying to commute with Abba Father, like everybody in the Old Testament and missing it, and so coming here gave me an understanding of one.

Speaker 3:

I remember my first time coming here, pastor Steve was teaching Easter message. I brought my wife to a Catholic service the year before when we were dating, and then she brought me here the next year and at the Catholic service I'm messing with her. I'm like they're going to know you're not Catholic.

Speaker 1:

You don't know when to stand. You don't know when we eat yeah, that's fine. You don't know when we break.

Speaker 3:

And she comes in. It was an old Catholic church in New Orleans and the next year I come here and when you come here sometimes they'll bring you to the front row, so I hadn't been here before. For whatever reason, my wife decides to let them lead us. So we go up to the front row and Pastor Steve's preaching the Easter message what a coincidence. We're right about coming into Easter. And he stood up on the platform and he said Jesus Christ's arms were spread out for you, he died for you. And that was the first moment.

Speaker 3:

I'm not that young, I'm in my 20s. I knew who Jesus was and I knew the Trinity we talk about the Father, son, the Holy Spirit but I didn't really appreciate he's God. And he got up there and he died for me. And I'm seeing Pastor Steve explain this and his hands are stretched out and suddenly I see the face of Jesus and it looks up and say I'm up here for you. And I just started weeping, just weeping. Some people say that the first sign of baptism of the Holy Spirit is praying in tongues. I don't know. Some people may not know what that's about, but I think it's tears. I heard a man say it to me a few weeks ago.

Speaker 2:

It's tears and I got wrecked right there in the chapel hey, man, that's so great, yeah, wow. Well, folks, we're visiting with Kyle Hart and we just got Kyle out of the parking lot today. And we just got Kyle out of the parking lot today. We were looking for doing a new show and we were, like man, been wanting to talk to Kyle for a while. So, so awesome that you were, you let the Holy Spirit lead and that's what we said. This is a Holy Spirit driven show, kyle, what you always have such a bright light in you. I love that you named your company, that You're always so positive, full of joy. Have you been through any trials or anything you can talk about you've been through, and how has God been there?

Speaker 3:

to bring you through. It's funny. I'll just speak about trials right now. I could go back, but I told you, speaking of one of the mentors in my life, who you and I and he prayed together. One of the first times we really got to know each other. I knew of you, but we didn't. We came before the Father. There we got together, we prayed and heaven moved.

Speaker 1:

And that was awesome.

Speaker 3:

And he was there that night with us. Well, I was with him yesterday on a walk and he was talking to me about some things in my own life and sometimes, you know, I think I've come to a place of spiritual maturity only to find out like there's some big things missing. And he was talking about foundational pieces needing to kind of go into place. And he said if you're not walking in peace, then you're not yoked to the Prince of Peace. You're not yoked to the Prince of Peace and as I'm going through some things with the title company over the years I've been in the title company for over nine years now, but my wife we started it the year before that, while I was still in law school. I started doing really doing men's ministry about four years ago and then I just opened a law office to partner with the title company a year ago. So I'm going through trials of getting those things going again and it's exposing, because things are challenging. One, the title company and the real estate business has been a tough couple of years. So when things get tough, it exposes who you are. Am I staying in peace? Men's ministry is always you know, who are you doing it for? A man yesterday was telling me hey, if there's too many I statements, the wrong person's leading, too many I statements, the wrong person's leading. And then, with the law office, I have some tendencies in my own life to be a bit of a perfectionist Just my personality, style and things that motivate and engage me, I'll make sure it's just right and I want to be an expert and then I'll go forward.

Speaker 3:

When you're starting something, sometimes you just got to go with the little dinghy that you got and the motor you got and get out there and begin the journey. And though I've begun the journey, I keep swinging back to the shore and I think the Lord's speaking to me about getting out there. And so just to kind of address the challenge I'm having right now in my faith is Am I spiritually mature? And I think that spiritual maturity and talking to my mentor yesterday a little bit about this, one of my mentors was I was like man, maybe I don't understand spiritual maturity, and that really grabbed me and so I looked it up and it's inner peace, compassionate awareness and purposeful growth. And so spiritual maturity, being inner peace, is cultivating a deep sense of calm and balance, regardless of external circumstances. Compassionate awareness is living with empathy and understanding toward others, guided by a sense of interconnectedness, and then purposeful growth, continuously seeking personal and moral development, reflection and alignment with your core values. For us who believe in Jesus Christ, that is the core value Love God, love neighbor.

Speaker 3:

And though I felt good about all those other things, I realized I was missing this foundational piece of inner peace, which Jesus is the Prince of Peace. So if I'm yoked to him, no matter what the problems are in my business, what I consider ministering to the Lord or starting this law office, I should be in peace. Whether I'm in traffic, whether I'm here speaking to you, whether I'm on my way to work. After this, with a client, with a customer, with a man or a woman seeking the Lord, am I staying in peace? And it can be a real challenge. Sometimes people are exposed to you. You're missing some foundational block that makes you who you're supposed to be as a child of God.

Speaker 2:

Wow, amen. Folks we're visiting with Kyle Hart having a great, great conversation. Kyle, a lot of people in the world today are not in peace. Not in peace, most people aren't. There's a lot of stress and anxiety and people looking for hope. What advice do you have for anyone listening that needs hope, that doesn't know this Jesus is skeptical. Maybe they've been burned. Maybe they were in church and were burned by religion or had a bad experience with the church or ministry. Anything you could say to them that are seeking hope today?

Speaker 3:

Run to Jesus Wherever you think you've seen him might have seen him, believe he might be. Sometimes it's just recognizing faith in Jesus Christ on somebody else and getting near that. Because when we share testimonies of what Jesus did in our lives, that is the spirit of prophecy, it's coming into believing. If faith in Christ Jesus did in our lives, that is the spirit of prophecy, it's coming into believing. If faith in Christ Jesus did that for that person, well then he can do it for me. God's no respecter of persons. If he did it for them, if I believe in him, he'll do it unto me.

Speaker 3:

And coming to believe in Jesus Christ, that's the beginning of an infilling of the Holy Spirit. When you recognize that that's coming into salvation, Holy Spirit comes into that and will begin to do a work in you. And when the Holy Spirit begins to do a work in you and that's purifying the things you love, the things you think about, the things you make decisions upon, you become a lot more like Christ. And when you're more like Christ, peace comes in. He says my burden is easy, my yoke is light. If you're looking for inner peace, there's only one way to the Prince of Peace, and I think a lot of us have heard this from Dave Ramsey. It's through Jesus Christ, there's only one way to peace, he says, and that's through the Prince of Peace. So if you think you saw him somewhere, chase after him. He's got a funny way of showing up.

Speaker 2:

That's great, kyle, and that kind of leads into our three key pillars of Road to Redemption is we say first, pick up the word of God, the Holy Bible, which is right there on your phone. If you have a phone, you can pull up the Holy Bible app and just start reading. Just start reading some scriptures. He will speak to you. He will start speaking to you right now, where you're at. Pick up the Bible, pick up a paper Bible, any Bible, and just start reading a little bit of that to get started. And then we say get into a Christ-centered church. Just go and start going to a church and just show up. We promise it'll bless you, especially here we're in the Easter season right now. Just go where the Holy Spirit will lead you to the right church and just go and we promise you it'll change your life.

Speaker 2:

And the last important thing to do is get into a small group within your church, a men's group or a women's group, or it could be a marriage group. They have all kinds of groups where you can do life, make yourself vulnerable to other people about what you're going through, and we promise that God will show up in those small groups and just transform your life. So if you can just take those steps today and you can invite Lord Jesus into your heart right now and we'll just pray for you right now as we end, lord, we just pray, heavenly Father, anyone that's listening that they can invite you into their heart right now, you can just say Lord Jesus, I make you my Savior and my Lord, I give my life to you today In Jesus' name. It's that simple. And Lord Jesus will come into your heart. Amen, amen. Kyle, did you want to pray? Did you have? Before we go?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I love to pray. Wow, father God, I just thank you for this time. I just thank you for what you're doing in the earth. There's never been a time like this. You are drawing your people near in a new and a fun way and it's unbelievable to us. I mean, how could it be fun? But you're just that good and you're that loving and if we seek you we will find you. If we draw near to you, you draw near to us. I just pray that any of those listening would be encouraged. Draw near to God, seek him, knock and you will find the door will be answered. Jesus Christ is the gate. Come on in. In the name of our King Jesus. We pray amen thank you, kyle that was awesome.

Speaker 1:
