What if the most powerful ministry in your life happens between meetings, on a job site, or at the ball field? John Martin sits down with Paul Lackie—business owner, husband, father, and prophetic voice—to explore how surrender and trust can turn ordinary moments into catalysts for hope and healing. No hype, no formulas: just a clear-eyed look at living led by the Holy Spirit when plans fall apart and people are hungry for something real.

Paul shares how he integrates faith with landscaping, real estate, and community leadership without diluting either. He breaks down the difference between church expressions and marketplace wisdom, showing how language, timing, and presence open doors that pressure would slam shut. We revisit the story of Peter and John at the Beautiful Gate as a lens for modern life: stay interruptible, act in faith, and let God handle the outcome. That’s how one faithful moment can spark a ripple effect across families, teams, and cities.

We also demystify the prophetic. God’s words aren’t magic—they’re invitations. Scripture becomes a roadmap when you “marry” it with action. Paul offers personal encouragements for listeners battling discouragement and longing for family restoration, and he challenges leaders to unite revelation with wisdom so their influence strengthens rather than fractures communities. We close with three anchors to keep you steady in uncertain times: immerse in the Bible, plant in a Christ-centered church, and commit to a small group where accountability and care run deep.

If you’re ready to see your work as worship and your schedule as an open door for God to move, this conversation will give you language, courage, and next steps. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs hope, and leave a review to help more people find this message. Where will you choose to be interruptible this week?

Meet Paul And His Calling

SPEAKER_01

Welcome to Road to Redemption. I'm John Martin, your host. I'm so excited to be with you today in this new year 2026. And I'm joined by my friend Paul Lackey. Paul, how are you? Doing awesome. Glad to be here. I'm glad you could come. I know that I've known you for a while and uh just always just loved you and your wife. You have a great wife and three kids, and just been blessed to know y'all for a while, and just excited that I could get you to come in here and share a little bit this morning.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm excited too. Looking forward to whatever it is the Holy Spirit wants to do through this.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, amen. And and and Paul, um, just well, give us a little background on you.

SPEAKER_00

Um, well, the short version of my background, I'm a local, kind of a native here to Santa Rosa Beach, part of uh um a local ministry here with Christian International and uh in the the prophetic movement. You know, we're a family of prophets, we're we're a house of prophets. Um like you said, I'm married, I have three children, also a local business owner, uh do different things in landscaping and uh have a garden center and things like that, and and really believe that God's called me as um a minister within the walls of the church and even so more outside the walls of the church. So my heart is to fulfill what the scripture says, which which those that are led by the Spirit of God shall be called the sons of God. Um literally wake up every day with a desire to follow what the Holy Spirit leads into. And um, I would say 10 days out of 10 days, I don't know what that is, but one step in front of the other in obedience, that's what God really leads us into. So that's a little bit about me, a little bit about my heart, a little snippet.

SPEAKER_01

So you you have such an interesting background because you're you said uh you've been a businessman, you've also know you're doing real estate transactions, also um, you're an owner there in the um the garden and landscaping company, and you're also uh a prophet, you know, with um Christian International. So I just that's I find that so fascinating how you you kind of can bring all those together in what I really call uh marketplace ministry, is what you're doing. And I know you shared with me, I think at the ball field one time about how you've been doing that. Like you had some situations of of stepping out and you were in a secular meeting and you've shared the gospel. You want to share that?

Business, Prophetic Ministry, And Surrender

Wisdom For Ministering In The Marketplace

Trusting God When Plans Collapse

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'll I'll share a little bit about it. And this is kind of what I've learned is my perspective in ministry, where I used to be a real big planner, and I still do as a business owner, different things. You have to plan, you know, you have to look at different things, but but even more so in ministry, um, in the church and outside of the church, I found one of the biggest keys is surrender, and one of the second biggest keys is trust. Uh stepping into a lot of different areas in the world, in the in the the ball fields or construction sites or real estate meetings, I fully believe God never stops speaking. Just because we step into one arena doesn't mean that we step out of another arena. So you may be in church and you minister one way within church, and you may be in the world, in your job or in the marketplace, and God gives you, I believe, it gives you wisdom on how to minister to people, not to dial down what God is saying, but the truth is, you know, we're we're we're prophets. We we minister the word of the word, fully believe God speaks and fully believe the scripture that says, my my sheep hear my voice. But there's a lot of wisdom and a lot of understanding to be learned with how to minister to people out in the world. Because uh, like in church, you know, you can go up, you can lay hands on people, you can grab hands with them and lay hands and impart things and prophesy and declare, you know. But if you're doing that with some business owners and business people, it comes across, you know, where where walls can go up pretty quick. So I've been on this interesting journey of understanding how God wants us to relate with people and being instant and in season and feeling constantly like I'm in over my head with God, you're putting me in the middle of this, but but constantly going back to that foundation of really wanting to obey Him and really demonstrating that I trust Him. And I there's been many opportunities that God's opened up, and you know, we're at construction sites a lot, and like you said, we have the garden center, so we have customers that come in all the time, and um a lot of the times you can minister to someone without them even knowing. You know, there's an anointing, there's no distance in the spirit. Uh, it's not by might, it's not by power, but it's by his spirit. So I don't have to strive to feel like I did something or said something right. I've found that as I obey and as I trust, what God wants to do within someone, it happens. And it's not like it's my skill or it's my ability, it's just my yes. And I know before we started this, you you prayed and it really jumped in my spirit about just revival, about you know, your your heart with what you're doing here. God's positioned you as one to release hope to people, to release life to people. But also, when you prayed, I could feel and understand your heart. You want to impart hope and you want to impart life, but you want to see revival, that that once that hope goes, once that life touches, and it it's something that revives. And I I feel like this year, um our church and our ministry is very well known for putting out what we call a word of the Lord for the year. That um my dad is um one of the prophets within the church, and you know, um Bishop Tom and Bishop Jane Hamm and Bishop Bill Hammond, all of them put out a word of what they feel God is saying for specific years. And um, it's been great. It gives so much vision and direction. Um, it's awesome. It's one of the things I love about our ministry. Um, and one of the things the Lord spoke to me is um 2025 didn't go as planned. I told somebody the other day, I said, we had some good plans for 2025, and nothing went according to my plan. But when I stopped, I saw God got done what he wanted to get done in a way that I didn't want him to do it. I wanted him to do it my way. I had a plan. Let's do this, this, and this, and this will come to fruition here in business or in ministry. And God's like, nope, I've got a different plan. I've got a different way I'm gonna do this. You need to trust me. And at times, even though it feels like life can be chaos, life can be hectic, he's right in the middle of it and he's doing something. And um, Bishop Bill Hammond, I heard him say one time, and I was telling somebody yesterday when I was helping him through something, he said one time, you know, Christians don't have problems. We have preordained opportunities to be molded and transformed into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ. So everything we see as a problem, everything we see as a difficulty is an opportunity to really become like Jesus and obey like he obeyed. And, you know, you'll have to stop me. I have the gift of Gab, and I can just, once it gets going, I can sink in this in, I'll take every bit of it. It's easy to do. You know, um, my point is, and what I really feel, and what I feel like encouraging everyone with today, God, you know, we pray and we ask for things, and often he does it, but rarely is it the way we want him to do it. That was me for last year. I came to the end of the year and I was like, Lord, did we did we did we make it through this that we faced? Did this go okay where we tried to step out here? And then as I just begin to talk with them and look at it through that different perspective, I saw so much that God taught me and he did on the inside of me that really wouldn't have happened had he done everything my way. But back to the thing about revival, yeah. This is this is where I'm at. This is where my wife is at, and this is where even my children are at, and the way I raise my children. Um, my wife and I have done this since they were born, and we prayed this before they were even born, that they would be in the world but not but not of the world. Um, everything we do is to not hide them from facing difficulties or facing problems, but teaching them how to rely on the Holy Spirit more than they rely on mom and dad. I can't tell you how many times my children have been through something and my 10-year-old Elisha, and I'll tell them, son, here's what I feel. But most of all, I'm telling you right now, if you can go in your room, just just just go in there and pray for 10 minutes. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Ask God to give you direction. He will give you something that that dad can't give you. My heart is, I don't want you to go through this. I don't want you to face pain. I don't want you to face rejection. But the truth is, as you face it and you trust him and you navigate through this by the Holy Spirit, he'll do something that I can't do. And we're preparing ourselves and preparing our children to go into the world and create a fire, start a revolution, be in your school and don't be ashamed to pray. Don't be ashamed to say who you are, what you believe, and don't be afraid to understand that you represent Jesus to people. And listen, I told somebody yesterday, I said, this is a hard reality to learn in our day and age, and we as believers don't really think this way. But a lot of the times, us, we are the closest representation of Jesus that anyone will ever come to. Even where we're at right now, we could walk out here, go talk to 10 people, what they feel, what they sense, what they see in you, your anointing, your heart, what you're speaking, may be the closest thing they ever experience of Jesus. And it's humbling. We're in America, we're in Florida, we're in Santa Rosa Beach. There's something that's gonna come from that revival. It's not gonna come the way that we think it people aren't just gonna flood the church for no reason. Um, there's something in the world that's gonna happen that people see and understand that they need the church, the equipping, the training, the teaching, the community, the support, and those types of things. So I really felt the Lord and my wife and I have just been praying about this is this revival is coming, but it's gonna happen in a way we don't think. No one can plan for this. And I feel like it's gonna be a little hard to contain, but that's okay. Um, just like Peter walking on the water, he didn't really walk on the water, he walked on the word. Uh he walked on that faith and that that that belief. So it's something we've got to do this year to step out. You know, we we we can't go to work, step into our different arenas, and put away our gifting, anointing, and call. Yeah, you know.

Revival That Won’t Fit Our Boxes

SPEAKER_01

Um what what do you say today to people that the world's pretty got got a lot of problems? So you know, with with where we're looking at, you know, people are saying world war potentially, or you know, and then there's a lot of still a lot of financial stress, a lot of people with you know, disease, and just it can become overwhelming, and um you know, we're trying to offer people show people hope through Jesus, you know. And and and and what thoughts or or you know, words do you have for people listening that are just looking at all these problems, sure, and it can seem a little overwhelming. A lot of people, you know, are depressed and anxious, yeah. That that listen to our show, you know. We're just trying to, and I know you being a prophet, what what what um prophetic words or just words of wisdom do you have?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I I feel the the book of Acts is a great representation. It always stirs me up, it always lights a fire when I read the book of Acts. And as soon as you said that, what I was reminded of is the is the story of um uh Peter and John that that went to the gate called Beautiful. And at that gate was a man that had been crippled his entire life. Um that whole city knew of this man because right at the entrance, right at the gate, he would stand at the stand, he would he would be there at the gate begging for money. Um so when he came across Peter and John and they walked up to him, and this is what I want people to understand with hope. Um, hope looks a lot like walking by faith. We're not gonna have the answers. We're we're gonna step out and and be afraid of failure. We're we're gonna we're gonna have to obey and feel like, is this really gonna happen? If we we've got to get past that hurdle and that reservation and that that hesitation to step out in faith and fear of disappointing someone or misrepresenting God. If we lay hands on someone and believe for them to be healed and they don't get healed, we get so stuck in our mind and in our flesh. But I love what Peter and John did. When they got to this gate, the man, you know, crippled, been there, they I don't know, it was 40 years or something like that, looks up at him, you know, and he's begging. And uh, I believe it was Peter, forgive me, but uh, I believe it was Peter that looked at him and he said, I don't have money, but here's what I can give you. And basically says, get up and walk. The man gets up and walks. So us in our careers, in our jobs, in our focus, you know, in our worldly belief that if you want to succeed, you have to focus, put everything to the side. Here's what we need to do, here's the agenda, this can't be flexible. You know, Peter and John were going to somewhere, they're heading to the temple. They could have said, look at this guy right here. He's been here 40 years. Everybody knows him. He's not gonna get healed. If we stop and do this, we're gonna be late to why we came here. In their minds, they could have said, that was our purpose, that's why we're here to go into the temple. This is a distraction. But this was the most important thing to Jesus. This is what it's all about.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

Hope For Anxious Times

SPEAKER_00

And I've had to learn that and I've had to discipline myself because I can be extremely focused, extremely tunnel vision, and just locked in when I set out to do something, but the Holy Spirit comes in and wrecks it all the time. So Peter and John go in there, this man gets healed. It starts a revolution within that city because everyone in there knew how long that man had been crippled. It was a demonstration of the supernatural power of Jesus with healing, restoration. That man had no hope. His only hope was someone can give me money. He didn't have hope that he'd ever walk, didn't have hope that he'd ever, but he met something that day, and it was because of Jesus, but it was also because of two men that said, I know my assignment, I know what I've seen, I know what is real, and whenever it happens, I'm gonna stop. Whenever the door opens, I'm gonna stop and I'm gonna begin to do this. So my encouragement to people like Peter and John, they they started a revolution. Masses of people came to know there was just this Holy Spirit atmosphere that just transformed an entire city from one miracle. And I felt convicted after reading it, thinking, God, I I almost every day in my life I see and I feel someone that may they may not be crippled, but they're depressed, they're rejected, they're hurt, they've been disappointed, they've become disillusioned, and and and like you said, the people can just lose hope. God's done something in us and he's given us anointings, giftings, and callings. No one is here on this earth by mistake, and we have to answer that each and every day of our life. And could you imagine, like with where we are right now, a miracle taking place that demonstrates something to the world and right here, right now, a revival taking place and people coming to know Jesus just from being obedient and putting our own schedules and agendas aside and being sensitive to what the Holy Spirit is saying. So my encouragement to get hope is to let go of trying to get hope how we think we should, how God, it's like we we pray, but it's like God, if if you do this, I'll feel hope. Yeah, if you'll prove this to me, I'll it it doesn't, I mean, I hate to say it, it doesn't work that way. God is sovereign and He'll He He does things the way He we have to be able to identify and be sensitive to when He's doing something and we can't even recognize it because it's not the way we wanted Him to do it. That gives hope when you see Him, when you feel Him, when He's there with you, when He works through you, it it builds something unstoppable because it's not what we see, it's Him, you know? It becomes something different.

SPEAKER_01

So you know that's awesome, Paul. Um Yeah, one of the things that well we we don't get many people like you on the show. So I'm very one that you're a market, you're a business owner, yeah, you're you're you're you're many fasted. I don't know how you do what you do, you have the Holy Spirit and you're I don't know how I do it.

SPEAKER_00

Awake up one foot in front of the other.

Peter And John: Faith That Stops

SPEAKER_01

But but where I was going is that you being a prophet, and yeah, you know, I I don't hate to put you on the spot, but if if if you might have any, you know, the Lord puts on your heart, any words that you might have for any of our listeners. Absolutely. I know He does that, even though you're you're not here in person right now, yeah. Someone might be listening, yeah, you know, and uh so if you have anything as we're continuing our conversation, I fully believe in like I think I said a little bit ago, there's no distance in the spirit.

Obedience Over Agenda

SPEAKER_00

So whatever we're doing here by his spirit is going wherever this needs to go. And I I want to give a word, but I also want to give a little bit of understanding too, um, that that helps us understand the prophetic and the way the voice of the Lord works. But if you read in Genesis, um it's all about how God created the world. And the way he did it is he spoke. He said, Let there be light, and there was light, and he said, Let there be the ocean, and all these different things. He spoke, and all of these things happened. And what's interesting is you study and you kind of look forward, pretty much every point after that, when God spoke, it required the obedience of men and women and their faith in him in order to fulfill what he had spoken. So people sometimes see the prophetic as almost a magic wand, or or you know, when something's spoken, well, this is gonna happen without a doubt. And we teach people and we train people the the foundation of the word of the Lord, the revelation that you read in the word of God, it comes to life when by faith your faith marries it, believes it, receives it a hundred percent, and you begin to walk by faith. I can't tell you how many times people have come back to us or me and said, This was prophesied over me, and this didn't come to pass. This feels false. My question, because I've learned the hard way with me. Um, my question to people is when God spoke that, what did you do with it? Well, I had a nice, you know, CD and a recording of it, and for whenever it happens, I have it there to confirm this was it. And I'm like, look, we've got to look at this differently. When God speaks it, we've got to put faith in action. Just because it's spoken, it needs you to believe it, to receive. I can't tell you how many people God has said you're a marketplace minister of God, God's gonna use you in businesses and you're gonna create wealth for the kingdom of God. None of that happens by all of a sudden that shows up supernaturally. Here's the keys to my business. This is your you've got to build it, you've got to do it type thing. So, one word I want to give and speak to help build kind of a foundation of the prophetic. I see so many people taking the word of God and beginning to read this, and it comes to life like never before. There is so much prophetic, there's so much word, there's so much revelation within the midst of this. But when you read it and you have that faith and that expectation of these aren't just stories of what happened, you know, 2,000 years ago. This is our roadmap, this is our lifeline, this is the light unto our feet right now. That when we read this, we can step into this by faith and begin to receive it. So there's the practical of the day by day getting into the word of God, marrying it by faith and taking action. What you read, I'm telling you, you'll feel it in your spirit. And it's like, God, I've got to do something with this. This is a part of who I am and my calling. So I really do believe there's many of you that are gonna watch this, and that hope is gonna come by reading this with a different perspective and a different expectation. And as I'm talking and praying or something, I just I see this picture of a woman. I see a woman that probably somewhere in between 50, 60 years old with longer blonde hair. You desperately need hope right now. I see it's like you've watched this, and as you're listening to John, as you're listening to me, something on the inside of you was like, This this entire program was about me. And what I see is God's bringing a healing, just like he's done in my life, and a little bit of what I've covered today, is God does things in ways that he does it in his own way, not the way we necessarily want him to. And I just hear the Lord saying, daughter, I've even though you felt alone in this process, I've been with you every step of the way. And what I see is that through some of these hardships and trials that you've faced throughout life, there's been some real difficulties, and you felt alone, and you've even got some people that have gone different directions and said, you know, you need to just go do your own thing, and I'm gonna go this way. I see this year is gonna be a year of fulfillment for you in reuniting your family. Um, and those ones that you've really been believing for a miracle for for them to come into the kingdom. But one of the keys that God has given you is let go of some of the things that they've said in the past. Let go of some of the hurt and the pain that's even come relationally with that son that you even have, and things that have been said that that really are nice, that very are supportive, but begin to take a new perspective and begin to go. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but powers and principalities of darkness. And I see the Lord just beginning to come in the midst of your family and using you as one that no matter what you're facing in the natural, uh emotionally, physically, spiritually, financially, you're gonna have this word of the Lord and the promise and this faith on the inside of you that begins to produce the unity and the turnaround within the midst of your family. And I just hear God saying, no matter what, like this word is almost, if you could visualize it, like if you took a T-bone steak and handed it to a pit bull, once that pit bull gets a hold of it, you're really not gonna get it out of their mouth, or yeah, they're not gonna let it go. The Lord's doing something on the inside of you that when you get this, you're not gonna let it go. No matter what you face, this is for you, and this is your promise from the Lord for this year is unity within the midst of your family and the vision and the purpose that God's given you for your life that has felt like it's too big, it's too much, it's too vast. The Lord is gonna send people around about you to help support and encourage you to begin to step into that calling and gifting in a new way, says the Spirit of the Lord.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, that's awesome. Amen. I love it. Yeah, and it's I I believe that's gonna touch somebody. They're gonna hear that and just be like, wow.

Activating Hope Through Scripture

Personal Prophetic Words Released

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And I feel too what one of the things that um is a real anointing on on my life is um activating people in the prophetic. Uh you know, it's something I've done the majority of my life and and been immersed in at Vision Church at Christian International. But um I've got a different word for actually for you, John, for everybody, and I feel it. I love it. God's gonna use you to activate and stir up this gifting. You've got this revelation on the inside of you that you've been crying out for it and you've been pressing into it. But but what I literally see, it's like heaven's gonna begin to open and it's gonna be like a tidal wave. It's not something you're gonna be able to figure out, but like I've been talking, it's gonna be walking out of here in that unction of the Holy Spirit, you're not gonna be able to keep your mouth closed any longer. And it's gonna be with wisdom that goes along with revelation, but you're gonna go in front of very influential people in different arenas, not just in real estate in these different arenas you're in. It's gonna go, I see, even to local and state government. God's gonna use you to begin to present some things and begin to pray into some things and even take some things that have been injustice that have been in our town, in our territory, in our region, that God's beginning to take you and your wife into a new place of warfare this year and beginning to expand your vision. And I just hear um for both of you, God's expanding the expanding the tent pegs. You almost feel like I've got enough on my plate right now. Let me get this, you know, I've got this, and we can do this, and we're just getting into the flow of this. I see God upping it tremendously, and it's gonna feel a bit overwhelming, but I hear the Lord saying to you and your wife, your family, my grace is sufficient to you and your whole family. What you've been through, the Lord says, I'm bolting the door on the past. Those are gonna be distant memories with nothing coming around to try and bring anything in. The Lord's position you and your wife in a new place to stand in a new place of authority in the business world and within the church. But the Lord says, don't be surprised where you get calls from Tallahassee or government officials or state senators, representatives, whatever it is. The Lord says you're gonna begin to speak prophetically into those arenas and begin to speak life, to see some things turn and see some things change. And the Lord's gonna use you to confront some systems within the church and with on the outside of the church. So I hear him saying just get ready. Some things are gonna feel like it's outside of the box, but the Lord says, I'm taking you outside of the box. That revelation is gonna begin to flow. And that there's a scripture, and forgive me, I can't know the exact reference, but there's a scripture that that basically says um wisdom without revelation is dangerous, revelation without wisdom is dangerous. The two need each other. You're gonna be a tremendous key within the body of Christ of marrying, joining, unifying wisdom with revelation. Wow. Amen.

SPEAKER_01

I received that. Amen. I received that. And as as we get to the end of the show, we never want to forget to share our three key pillars of road to redemption. Number one is to get into the word of God. As we were saying, this word, this Bible, that is most important. Uh as Paul was saying, yes, prophecy. It's a gift, it's good. But number one, God speaks to us through the word. Uh so do that. We just encourage you, get a Bible, get a hardback Bible if you can. You know, but if not, you know, get it on your phone and just read this Bible every day. Get up in the morning, read the Word of God. He will speak to you and will bless you abundantly. And uh then get into a church, a Christ-centered church. Absolutely. There is no perfect church. They all have flaws. Don't try to find the perfect church, you never will. But go to a Bible-believing, Christ-centered church and just go. You know, go and get planted and served. Um God's gonna bless you. And then and then the last thing is to get into a small group within your church. You know, get into a small group that you can do life with, you can make yourself vulnerable, you can be accountable, and God's gonna bless you tremendously through that small group. So we can just encourage you with those three things, all these prophetic words, and then just awesome you share with me. I receive them, and just you know, you're you're such a a blessing to me, to this community. Um so we look forward to having you back.

SPEAKER_00

Well, thank you. I appreciate it. My wife and I both we were talking about this morning. We feel the same way about you. Just as much as you feel I'm a blessing, I feel you, what God's doing with you through this and other things. You and your wife are a tremendous blessing. Keep keep it up.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. Thank you. God bless.
