Episode 261: Blind Boxing, Monster Sales & Signature Series Debate
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
This week’s episode dives into several hobby-shaking talking points currently driving collector conversation.
We break down the growing discussion around blind boxing, sparked by Josh Luber’s comments and what this model could mean if applied broadly across the hobby. From collector psychology to risk, transparency, and market behaviour, we explore why this concept is generating strong reactions.
The episode also examines major sales drawing attention, including the Cooper Flagg 1/1 result and a significant Dwyane Wade rookie patch auto transaction. We discuss what these sales signal about demand, pricing dynamics, and how headline numbers influence perception.
Additional discussion covers Donruss player licensing, product positioning, and the ongoing relevance of Signature Series within the modern card landscape.
As always, this episode focuses on hobby interpretation, collector behaviour, and the market implications behind the noise.

Welcome everybody to this week's show. I am your host Russell Gibson and this is the You Can't Comp This MBA Trading Card
1:19
podcast. Thanks everyone for joining. Really appreciate it. Just a quick update of
1:25
how this week's show is going to work. I'm currently on leave at the moment. So, it's just going to be a quick 15 or
1:32
20 minute show this week. We're just going to touch on a few key points of what's been happening in the
1:38
hobby. And then next week, we'll be back to normal programming. And we've got
1:43
Tyson Beck coming up, which is going to be absolutely fantastic, and I can't wait for that to happen.
1:51
Guess first thing for this week's show, if I can ask a favor,
1:59
is that you would please go to our Facebook page,
2:06
www.fas.comyoucomus.
2:12
Give us a follow there. We're up to 79 followers. We just need 21 more
2:18
and then we can go live onto that platform instead of my personal Facebook platform. So that would be hugely
2:25
appreciated. If you are on YouTube, please click that subscribe button and
2:30
turn on that notification button too. You can get all of our content. All righty. For this week's show, we're
2:36
going to talk about the blind boxing of everything. And that is the new manifesto or the new document that's
2:43
been written by Josh Luba. If you remember back to our earliest episodes, in fact, our first episode of
2:49
the Yukon can't comp this show. We went through the entire manifesto and we went through it chapter by chapter. I haven't
2:56
read through the whole thing yet, but I think we can skim through it a little bit, come back to it in a couple of weeks and we can go through it all
3:02
again. We've got a fantastic Koopa Koopa flag sale. We got a Dwayne Wade sale.
3:08
And the main thing I want to talk about and break down with you guys today is the new product that's coming out from
3:13
Panini is the Don Russ unlicensed and also the signature series
3:20
which has just dropped
3:44
All righty. So, let's get straight into this. Don Russ unlicensed. Here we go. Now, the first thing that we actually
3:51
need to point out here, it is Don Rust player license. Panini is trying to go for a rebrand. And essentially,
4:00
it's like rebranding a Ponzi scheme, isn't it? In some ways, it is what it is. You can't get away from the fact
4:06
that it's an unlicensed product. But I think what they're really trying to, you know, hit home here or for lack of a
4:13
better word, emphasize here is that this is actually player license card. So
4:18
obviously they've got into agreements with very particular athletes and they'll be bringing them in into
4:24
these products. So I think the other thing that I would take away from this, obviously we've got some names in here
4:29
which we're going to go through all of the names, but it seems to me that Panini is not
4:35
going away. Yes, they've lost the official licenses, but they're going to be clawing and trying to get themselves
4:41
back into this in some particular way. So look, I'm really just going to hold
4:46
my my breath on this. I don't personally think that player licensed unlicensed products have a lot of value and I think
4:54
there's so much evidence out for this in all these different platforms too you
4:59
know like we've seen it with Leaf we've seen it with TOPS even like the TOPS unlicensed stuff really wasn't that you
5:05
know that well received so let's see how it go here's the first card here we've got the VJ Edge chrome pen pals I don't
5:12
mind this as long as it's on card autograph I think the design is frankly a little bit boring but moving on to
5:17
This one here, this is the signatures card. I think that says lit
5:23
signatures. I'm sorry about that. I can't really read it. Again, I'm going to go for the same thing here. I don't
5:29
mind the design. In fact, I prefer this much more to the VJ Edge Chrome card that we just looked at here. As long as this is on card autograph and not
5:35
sticker autographs, I think that's totally fine. What I would really like to see from Panini as we're moving into
5:42
this next era is just quality. Don't worry about pumping out
5:47
16 megat tons of this product. Just get all of your quality right. So, for example, here license to drive. We've
5:53
got the Trey Johnson card. I love this kid. I love Trey Johnson. I think he's going to be someone that's very
5:58
collectible. I I think he's going to be a bit of a funny one where if he's not in the official products and then you're
6:05
forced to then chase high-end unlicensed cards, you know, I think it's just
6:10
really really tricky for someone who I think I think is worth collecting, right? License to drive clearly is a
6:17
sticker autograph. Panini, fix this. We, you know, we don't need this. All right, moving on to the Don Rust actual the
6:23
design of the card. Look, we know what Don Russ is. It's an entry-level product. It's something that's not particularly that crazy. you know,
6:29
whatever. Whatever. I think the design is okay. It's nothing
6:35
that I'm going to be sitting here and waxing lyric all over. I don't mind the Elite Series design on that,
6:41
particularly in the black. I think that looks really cool. What I do want to have a look at it here though is the
6:47
SSPs. Here we go. Here comes the downtown. I've heard a lot of people talking about these and I've also heard
6:53
the chatter around it saying actually people would be quite happy to get it because for a downtown card you're not
6:59
particularly looking at the logo of the card. You're not particularly looking at whether it is licensed or not. I don't
7:07
agree with that at all. I I think that if you are spending huge amounts of money on these downtowns, I would be
7:13
very very very careful around that. I would personally I would wait to see how
7:18
the comps play out on this or at least a three to four month payment cycle so
7:24
that you can actually see, you know, where everything is going because
7:30
yeah, you just don't want to be caught holding a bag, you know, spending $500, $1,000 on an insert that's then later on
7:36
worth $10. Nobody wants to have that experience in the in the hobby. Now,
7:41
this next one here, the Slammy. This is super super cool. Very experimental artwork.
7:49
Obviously, in the very true Panini style, they're taking risks onto cards. I've got no problems with this at all.
7:55
Do I think these are going to be worth anything? Absolutely not. This is a one or a $2 card at the absolute Okay, hang
8:01
on. Let me rephrase this. $5 to $10 absolute max on the high-end
8:07
ones. You know, maybe$1 or $2 on the entry level inserts in for Slammy. Do I think they're a cool set to collect?
8:13
Absolutely. Yeah, I think that's awesome. Particularly if your your PC, isn't it? So, if Kate Cunningham's your
8:18
boy, go out and pick one one of those up for super cheap. Put it onto your desk, have a look at it. That's going to be
8:24
really cool. Right, here comes the next thing here. And this is what we actually do need to talk about and break down. I
8:31
did a short today and I ended with the celebrities, but actually I want to
8:36
start out with this because if Pania are going to be staying in the game, if they're going to be trying to
8:44
keep up with the hobby, they're going to be trying to keep up with fanatics. I actually think this is where they need
8:50
to go. They need to put entertainers into it. They need to make it pop culture relevant. We've got Ludicrous.
8:55
We've got Spike Lee. We've got Dick Vital. That for me is like nine out of 10, 10 out of 10 because it brings in,
9:04
you know, stuff that you're not going to get in other places. Also, it brings in people who might not be into MBA in
9:10
particular. And I think that's really important if you're trying to expand the hobby. You're trying to, you know, build it up a bit more. Obviously, it's too
9:17
late now for pinion. Their time to build up the hobby is gone, but I still like the play that they're making here a lot.
9:24
I think this is absolutely fantastic. And so, yeah, I've got no problems with this at
9:32
all. Nothing. That's fantastic. Right, let's move into the other autographs. Here we go. Coaches are going to be
9:38
included into this. Personally, I think Panini dropped the ball on this one. We've always needed coaches autographs.
9:44
Why haven't they been doing this? They did coaches cards for a while. I think it was in either 1718 prism or 1617
9:51
prism. You could get coaches autographs in it. You know, Steve Kerr was in there. So now we're getting Jim Calhoun,
9:58
Dan Hurley, Todd Golden, Jim Boheim, Bobby Knight. Look, again, this is good.
10:03
I think this is thinking outside the box, but we need the big names. So who are the top NBA coaches at the moment?
10:11
This is who we need to see. We need to see Steve Kerr. We need to see Greg
10:16
Papovic. Here we go. We need to get Phil Jackson. That That is an absolute get.
10:22
Phil Jackson would be insane. Eric Sperestra, that's the other one who I would love to see. Chuck Daly, RIP. He's
10:30
passed away now. Tyrone Lou, I think is a good one. But in saying that,
10:35
I don't know this off the top of my head, but I reckon you'll be able to get Tyrone Luke autographs. Oh, here we go.
10:41
Larry Brown. Larry Brown should be in this set. Absolutely. Here. Casey Jones.
10:46
Don Nelson. That would be cool. Don Nelson. That's a really good one. Pat Riley autographed Doc Rivers. Yeah,
10:53
that's what we're talking about here. Jerry Sloan is I think
10:59
I'm not sure if he's passed or not. That to me is where we need to be at. Like those ultra high-end guys that you can
11:07
then put that away into your veterans box. And again, that is something I would absolutely collect on card
11:13
autograph. You know, I'm thinking in the vein here of like Timeless Moments cards
11:18
where you've got that insane piece of artwork and maybe Panini here. They hold their power. For something better to
11:24
come along, a better product to come along before they put these high-end coaches into it. But absolutely, that's something I would be fruffing over. I'll
11:31
definitely want that. For all you rookie prospectors, VJ Edgecomb, Jeremiah Fierce, Trey Johnson, Carter Bryant,
11:38
Hugo Gonzalez, Derek Queen, he's playing fantastic this year. Cedric Coward, I
11:43
love him. Just don't know how much hobby value he's going to get. And obviously Hansen Yang. If you're getting Portland
11:49
in a in a random or a PYT, hang on to your Hans and Yangs. Send them overseas
11:55
to auction at the bigger auction houses. Send them over to China to send to sell.
12:00
There's always hobby going on for Chinese players. So, yep, that's a really good get for Panini. I think that's going to move some product for
12:06
them. other autographs that we can also talk about here. Kate Cunningham, Giannis, Jarma Rant, and I think this is
12:14
the big one, you know, moving forward. The name on this list for me that's missing is Luca Donuch. I I thought that
12:21
he was Panini exclusive, so I'm going to need to do a bit more research into this and find out why Luca isn't in this
12:28
product. Wonder if he's gone across. I wonder if
12:34
Topps have given him an absolute bag because if you're looking at the future of the NBA, you need WBY, you need Luca
12:40
Donic, you've got LeBron James, like imagine if you got Jordan, something like that. If
12:46
you had that crew that like realistically like prospects are good, but that's who you need, isn't it? You just need all
12:52
those really big names. Chris Weber, that's cool, but no one's going to really care about that. Dr. J Kevin
12:58
Garnett, that's good for KG fans. For Wolves fans, for Celtics Championship Chasers, that's really good. Larry Bird,
13:05
Magic Johnson, they'll sign anything. They'll sign with anyone. Magic Johnson autos are really cool, but
13:11
look, let's be honest. He signed with Leaf. He's signed with Panini. There's a heap of autographs out there
13:16
for Magic. Just be very selective of what you get for Magic Johnson cards, patch autographs, low numbered cards,
13:24
that type of thing. Yeah, there's a heap of them out there. Avoid sticker autographs with magic. Steve Nash. All
13:30
right. Now, this next one here. Do I even talk about this? I don't think so. But they've got some
13:36
prospects in here. Darius, Acliffe, Yakel, Jaden, Quentis. Who are these
13:42
people? Kareem Lopez. That's absolutely just just fluff. And look, you're getting three autographs out of these
13:48
boxes. The the pricing on this is low. I've I've got a funny feeling that it's going
13:54
to sell for like 200 300 Aussie dollars per box. Something around
14:00
that. So, this actually might break really nicely with three autographs, 90 odd cards in it. Get a Levi. Get a
14:07
Jared. Get a Adam Crosley. What's up, lads? Look, you know, let let's see how this
14:14
goes. I don't think you should be putting heaps and heaps of cash into this. Signature series is the other
14:20
product that Panini has just released. Five cards per box. So this is the the
14:26
opposite of what we got with Don Russ. Don Russ is very heavy in base. This is just five cards per box. One slabed
14:34
autograph numbered to 49 or less. One base cards, two base parallels, and one
14:40
insert. So you're just getting one autograph per box on this. I I want to see what the price is on this before I
14:46
talk about this too much more. If this is cheap, if this is about the same price that
14:53
Dawn Rice is selling for, I've got absolutely no problems with this at all. If they pump this up and try and cash in
14:59
on this and try and get every cent out of the remaining loyalist to Panini, for
15:06
me, I personally think that sucks and they shouldn't do that to people. But at the same time, too, I'm going to say,
15:15
yeah, we just have to really wait and see on this one. Do these cards look pretty good? They look okay, but if this is the
15:21
the biggest hit you can get out of it, frankly, I think the design is boring. This is the signature series RPA. Again,
15:28
obviously, we're going with the headliner, which is VJ Edgecomb. I've seen so many better patch
15:34
autographs than this. I'm not particularly going to be writing home about this at all. Signature Pride. Yeah, fantastic. Then you can go through
15:41
all the different flags, all the different countries that people represent. I think that's great if you're very patriotic and you want to
15:47
collect your American cards. If you're an Aussie collector, you want to get your Aussies. Again, awesome. Insane.
15:52
That's really cool. But again, is the design on that fantastic. Nothing is really blowing my hair back on this for
15:58
me. I'm going to be like wanting to spend $500 or $1,000 per box on this. Absolutely not. I'm looking at this
16:04
here. This is a college card. So, they're going to be mixing in a bit of
16:09
um you know, we called it prism draft back in the day into NBA product.
16:15
I I think that's really risky. I think you have to keep it NBA, but that would also explain as to why
16:23
they've got the prospect autographs in it and also the college coaches. Okay.
16:29
So, that's a little bit misleading, isn't it? in a way where you're mixing in
16:34
college product with with pro product and also selling it as just a player
16:41
licensed product. Oh man, we're being paniti before we even open the boxes,
16:46
haven't we? All right. So, I'm going to put that out to the listeners. How do you feel about this? If this is, if I'm
16:52
correct about this and I'm working this out on the fly, if this is a
16:59
college product mixed in with pro product, does it diminish the value of the product? Do you want to buy this
17:04
more? Because then you're getting in at the very ground level of prospects and you can put these cards away for the
17:10
long term, you know, watching them. Is that something that you want to do? You know, I think that's a really
17:15
interesting one, too. So, I'm going to write that down. I'm going to do a post about this.
17:20
Yeah. Okay, cool. Now, this one here, I don't mind this. This is the cover athletes card here. This is uh Panini
17:28
Noad type design where it's very black. It's got the big gold writing onto it on
17:34
card autograph. Please, Panini, do not sticker this. I think you can get away with that. People will try and collect
17:40
that. All right, we had Iverson as the cover athlete. We got Derek Rose coming on this here. Now, this to me, this is
17:46
like we've had these cards, I think was under a product called Threads where it was a a picture of a
17:54
jersey and then I don't remember if these are autographed or not, but this to me is like a throwback to that where
18:01
we've got here picture of a Derek Rose jersey. For me, do you know what would be way better? Actually, it was a patch
18:08
in the frame of a jersey and then it had the autograph on the top of that. That
18:13
would be insane. that would be collectible for somebody that can't afford to go out and buy and also house
18:19
a huge frame of a jersey and then you can put this into a card. That's the other reason why I like cards. You can have a whole bunch of autographs and
18:26
memorabilia and you can put it away really easily. Like that to me just it just makes sense, doesn't it? Right. All
18:33
righty. The next one we've got here, this just looks like an insert. I don't even want to talk about this stuff,
18:38
frankly. Iverson throwback on this. The signature series. All right. What have we got here again? Edgecomb fears, Trey
18:46
Johnson. I think that's is going to be all the same rookies again. Damian Lillard is in this product. James
18:51
Harden, Dirk Nitzky, Ray Allen, Alan Iverson, Derek Rose, and Steve Nash.
18:56
Personally, Derek Rose should be at the top there. I think he is super collectible. People want Derek Rose
19:02
stuff. That stuff always sells really well. All right, top prospects. Darius
19:07
Auff. Oh, man. Nicholas Avatilus. Brillan Mullins.
19:14
Yeah, these to me are two deep cuts. I'm not into this stuff pretty much at all. Here we go. Collect the rainbow of your
19:22
favorite superstar, legend, next in line prospect or rookie.
19:27
Okay, so this is absolutely a mix of product here. One insert per box. Perpetual talents
19:33
classm signature headlines. Also for the popular kaboom insert. All right. If you
19:39
want to be chasing kabooms, this is the product you're going to have to hit. Gold number to 10 and black numbered to
19:46
one. Panini know what's up here. We have needed a black kaboom for such a long
19:51
time. I've never understood why they went with the green. I'm going to wait to ah here we go. The
19:59
next the next frame right here. Kaboom. All right. If that's in black, that's collectible to me. Again, let's just see
20:06
and hold our powder on this to see what this is going to be worth into the long term. We're going to go to our first
20:13

21:38
All righty, guys. We are back and we're going to continue on here and we're going to touch on the blind unboxing
21:45
post
21:52
which was posted onto Instagram just this week. So guys, get on to Instagram and follow Josh Luba. He's written a new
22:00
white paper, 140 pages. It's going to take me a while to get through this guys, and I'm not going to lie to you
22:06
guys and tell you I've read it all because I absolutely haven't. I would say though that Luba
22:13
understands the hobby from a range of different perspectives. And I think it's good to get people's perspectives on
22:19
different levels. I think it's good to get hobbyist perspectives. I think it's fantastic to get high high-end and then
22:26
it's good to get little guys like me my two cents on the
22:32
hobby too because I think you get a more well-rounded thing. It's also good because I think in the last white paper
22:40
he was very honest and very transparent about how he viewed things and how
22:45
things were going to be moving into the future and he touched on things about distribution and now that we look back on it too he
22:52
really touched on things like how the negotiations were going to go. So it really gave you a good insight of how
22:57
everything played out. We are absolutely in a point in time in the hobby where
23:04
people do love a random like it's literally as simple as that. And so if we're going to be blind boxing into the
23:10
future, is this the is this the future of the hobby? Is this the hobby? Is the hobby a
23:18
blind a giant blind box? I personally don't think every person in the hobby is
23:23
into blind boxes or repacks. You know, some people just want to watch
23:28
breaks, some people want to buy singles, some people just want to buy low-end, some people only want to touch high-end.
23:35
So, do I think this is for everyone? No, I don't. But at the same time, you cannot ignore what is going on out
23:42
there. And we're seeing platforms now that are doing the digital repacks. And
23:48
if you're asking me what is the future on repacks, like that's the future. There's no way around it.
23:55
At the moment, from what I can see, there's only really one or two platforms that are doing it in a large scale
24:01
meaningful way. Do I think that's going to be the only thing that's going to be happening, you know, moving into the
24:07
future? Absolutely not. I mean, come on, guys. Like, this is Yeah, this is the future. So, guys,
24:13
absolutely check this out. Read this. We're going to be breaking it down.
24:20
I'm not too sure how I'm going to be doing it. 140 pages. I might just pick out one page at a time and maybe do
24:26
every 10th page or just do some interesting stuff. But absolutely, I'll be doing that over a period of weeks and
24:32
we will get into that. Now, Cooper flag sale. This one was an absolute monster.
24:38
An absolute monster here. This is from the market movers app. I'm actually going to thread in a couple of stories
24:44
into this one here. 2025 Cooper Flag first card. One of one PSA 8. Who cares?
24:52
It's a one of one. It sold for $108,000. It was sold on Fanatics Collect. The
24:58
story goes to this is that the person who owned this card somehow didn't realize the value of it, took it to a
25:04
vendor who was told he wanted $10,000 from it. The vendor was very, very
25:10
honest in this space and then went on to say, "We can get you a lot more money for that." And helped him consign it
25:16
with fanatics. I
25:22
I'm not too sure how much I believe in these type of stories. I I think sometimes this stuff is just almost told
25:28
to create hype in the hobby and and create some type of good narrative story. How can you be a collector, have
25:36
the biggest prospect that's currently in the NBA, have the one of one and then not know what the
25:43
value of the card is? Like that to me is just insane. And also have sent it off to PSA and got it back. like you know
25:50
your up charge on this I'm going to guess the upcharge even on a PSA 8 would have been like at least $1,000 right
25:57
like and then to sell it for 10 I'm not too sure about that anyway I think the
26:03
most important thing to talk about here is the Kooper flag market we are seeing some absolutely insane sales on this guy
26:11
and it's getting to the point now where
26:16
is this guy a good or a bad purchase. I'm going to start leaning into the fact that this is moving into crazy territory
26:24
because we've seen multiple prospects over the last few years have cards sell for more
26:31
than six figures and they have gone back to absolute dust now. So, the obvious
26:36
and the easy ones are Jamaran and Zion. I think that's the easy ones. We've also
26:41
seen some Anthony Davis sales on his was it national treasures RPA card and that
26:48
sold for more than six figures and now that's worth like 20 grand something in
26:53
that figure there and so
26:59
obviously the people who are dealing in these type of cards they've got the money to spend so maybe this is not so
27:04
much of a big deal for them you know they view it as a good long-term risk but I also think there's a trickle down
27:10
here because And you can see this here, the trickle down here is real. There's other cards here. This one here selling
27:15
for $97,000. Bowman Chrome University. That's an absolute joke. That is going to end
27:23
terribly. If if that's worth $10,000 in a few years, I would be absolutely shocked. The trickle down effect is
27:30
here. Here we go. $120,000 for a number to three out of five. And that's raw.
27:36
And that's raw. So if you send that off to PSA and that comes at a five or six or seven or eight, I mean you you could
27:42
very in a real way lose money almost straight away.
27:49
Yeah, at this point in time for me the Kooper flag market is just absolutely cooked and frankly I'm going to try and
27:55
stay away from it as much as I can. Frankly, as much as I can. It's just
28:00
it's just too much for me. I I really struggle when I see these type of numbers.
28:11
Hey, Joe Dennis, just replying to your comment here. Yeah, die cut jerseys and threads. Yeah, it just took me a while
28:17
to piece that one together, but absolutely.
28:23
All right, guys. Moving on. Here we have got a Dwayne Wade sale. Now, this one
28:28
here, I love this. I personally think this is undervalued. And whoever picked this up, it's an absolute gem. Dwayne
28:35
Wade 2003 exquisite collection numbered to 99. This sold for $43,000
28:43
200 bucks with the change there. Population on this is 6 PSA 9. Right. Okay. Why do I think this is
28:49
undervalued? I think someone like Dwayne Wade where he's had an absolutely insane NBA
28:57
career. I also think too there's the pop culture element. Like why isn't his card
29:03
selling for more? Like we just saw an absolutely terrible Cooper flag sale
29:08
for $100,000 on a essentially a Don Russ base card at
29:14
PSA8. Then you can walk into C into Dwayne Wade who's had multiple championships. All right, let's let's do
29:21
this.
29:28
Let's use AI. 16 NBA seasons.
29:33
NBA championships in 2006, 2012, and 2013. Finals MVP in 2006. All-Star
29:41
selections 13 times. AllNBA eight times. Two-time first team, three time second
29:47
team, three time scoring title in 2009. All defensive third all defensive team
29:53
three times. Olympic gold medalist, right? That's his career. That is an
29:59
amazing career. And how many people can you even argue that have got a career that good? And you can pick up his
30:05
exquisite rookie patch autograph for $43,000. Now, if we trend back, even just 12, 18 months, you could pick this
30:12
up for about $25,000. My argument around this actually
30:18
is that should we be buying up more people? All right, more people like Dwayne Wade.
30:25
We've spoke about Steph Curry being undervalued. Frankly, I think LeBron James is a little bit undervalued into this space,
30:31
too. Should we be buying up more LeBron at the moment?
30:37
Let's have a look at Dwayne Wade on card letter.
31:10
The market for Wade is not fantastic.
31:16
All right. 2003 2004 refrator from his rookie year. BGS
31:23
pristine 10. This is from 2021. Last sold for $13,700.
31:51
All right. 2003 tops current Dwayne Wade refrator PSA 10 population on this is 171 that
32:00
last sold to 1,350. Let's look at the total population
32:06
report on this because some of these older cards PSA is almost irrelevant just for the fact of how many BGS. Okay,
32:12
so BGS, there's one black label 10. There's 2710 pristines and in total
32:18
there's 1,300 in the population on this across all the different grading companies. Obviously, there's going to
32:24
be some recracks here. There's some in SGC, there's some in CGC population total growth. Look, in
32:31
today's comparisons, like that's absolutely nothing. All right, so let's comp this guy to Wendy because I
32:37
actually think WBY is pretty close to him at the moment. So, at the moment,
32:43
Wade is at 1,300. We at the moment
32:51
is trading for 1562. I think this is the perfect example of hype versus
32:58
substance. And and look at the population on this. The WBY population is nearly 5,000 alone
33:06
at PSA. 8,514 is the total population on this Wimpby
33:12
card. All right. Every single day of the week, I'm taking that Dwayne Wade. In fact, I'm going to give this an A++
33:20
purchase on his rookie refractor card. I'm going to go for a B+ on that just
33:25
because I just don't know how long it's going to take you to get your money back, but how much for it to go up too
33:31
much more. All right, let's finish off today's show with
33:37
some listener questions. And I'm really sorry guys, I didn't get around to these sooner. Plappies PC, just seen the new
33:43
unlicensed downtowns. Interesting discussion. Yeah, look, we actually covered in that in that today's show. I
33:49
probably should have threaded that in a little bit earlier. For me, it says stay away. The one I really want to look at
33:56
though is the Kabooms. That's the one where I think it's going to be really interesting. black one of one. That to me is juicy and we need to check that
34:02
out. Clear view cards. WBY saved the All-Star game. WBY is an absolute legend. I'm so thankful we have WBY in
34:09
our lives. It's as simple as that. I think he's going to change the NBA in a very positive way. Clear view cards
34:15
mangas are forgettable. Prism Black has no brand recognition. I think it'll keep
34:20
going down. Yeah. So, this was a followup from the last live stream that
34:26
we did and I was talking about the mangas and how there's been a really big shift downwards in the Steph Curry.
34:32
Look, I kind of I disagree with you to be honest. I think the mangas are going to be collectible long term. I think the
34:39
question is is what is the correct price? Are we seeing a price price correction at the moment or was that
34:45
just a one-off sale that was, you know, really down? Now that I've looked back through the sales data, what I actually think is it was just a one bad sale and
34:52
frankly I think it's been removed from the index. Prism Black I think was really really
34:58
wellreceived and I think it's going to hold sealed well for a very long time. Uh boy, what is my favorite product to
35:07
break? All right. I like to see people get value back. I don't like to see people get reamed too badly. So for
35:14
example, I hate one and one for that exact reason. there's only two cards in the box. If you get one bad card or two
35:20
bad cards in it, it just really can stink up hardcore. My actually favorite
35:27
product to break has always been Select. You got three hits in it. You got base cards. You got the case hits. And the
35:33
other one that's really warmed up me a lot the last few years is impeccable because the price on that was much lower
35:38
compared to other I'm using air quotes here high-end but you got like six or
35:45
seven autographs per box. Most of them were on card autographs. It was very little redemptions in it. It was just
35:51
like a nice thoughtful product that really got overlooked by collectors and also on the resale market. Thank you so
35:58
much to everybody for tuning in today, listening on the podcast platforms. Again, please can you go to Facebook
36:09
