Viktor E. Frankl was an Austrian psychiatrist as well as a Holocaust survivor. From the beginning of his imprisonment throughout World War II, Frankl embraced a life philosophy that would not only allow him to survive the horrors experienced during life in a concentration camp, but aid in the path to recovery for many survivors once liberated.
By understanding that our life circumstances are often out of our control, Frankl explains that it is our own will power and response to our lives that will ultimately shape our outlook. His book “Man’s Search for Meaning” describes these concepts in detail and encourages all to accept what we cannot change and take control of what we can change.
