Speaker A [0:14 - 0:38]: Who do you think I am? Where do you see this going? All right, what's up, everybody? Coming to live and loud.

Speaker B [0:39 - 0:39]: Yeah.

Speaker A [0:39 - 0:44]: The Turtle Back Zoo here in West Orange, New Jersey. Mike Ham on the ones, Chris Vaglio on the twos.

Speaker B [0:44 - 0:45]: Yeah, yeah. What's radio?

Speaker A [0:45 - 0:48]: Garden State Road Show. Chris, what's up, man?

Speaker B [0:48 - 1:05]: We're road showing it, guys. We are here finally. We've been talking about it for weeks on end and here it is, Brew at the Zoo. Live from Turtle Back Zoo. This is my first time actually doing this. Every year it's come up and every year I haven't been able to do it, but I am, I'm pumped to be here, man. This is great. There's tons of people walking in.

Speaker A [1:05 - 1:10]: Yeah. This is also my first time at Brew at the Zoo, let alone doing a show at Brew at the Zoo.

Speaker B [1:10 - 1:15]: I know, it's pretty wild. I mean, you're, you're. For anybody that's never wild.

Speaker A [1:15 - 1:16]: That's a good, a good way to say it.

Speaker C [1:16 - 1:17]: Wild.

Speaker B [1:17 - 1:34]: Yeah. For anybody that's never been here before. I mean, we're literally in the middle of the zoo here on the path. People are coming in, we see all the different. So many great beer, beer partners, vendors, whatever. We got food here. And then like literally like what, 50ft? Giraffes.

Speaker A [1:34 - 1:36]: Yeah, giraffes right down there.

Speaker B [1:36 - 1:37]: Hyena across the way.

Speaker A [1:38 - 1:42]: Ostrich or an emu or whatever the hell. That was a great horned something.

Speaker B [1:42 - 1:44]: Yeah, we thought it was a vulture, but it turned out it wasn't. Yeah, whatever.

Speaker A [1:44 - 2:00]: It was still badass looking bird, I'll tell you that. Yeah, but yeah, tons of breweries. I mean, we kind of like in our little footprint over here, there's already that we could see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Five in a cidery, six in a cider.

Speaker B [2:00 - 2:01]: I missed that one over there.

Speaker A [2:01 - 2:09]: And then down the way there's more. There's pickles over there. We saw our friends at Glenbrook and ghost talk down over that way and alternate ending and so many. Great.

Speaker B [2:09 - 2:16]: There's so many breweries here, which is really cool. Yeah. So if you have a ticket for today, you guys are lucky because this event is sold out.

Speaker A [2:16 - 2:18]: Sold out 2400 tickets.

Speaker B [2:18 - 2:49]: Absolutely. And we are very happy to be here broadcasting live for Radio Garden States. First time I brew at the zoo. Speaker B [3:00 - 3:01]: That's right.

Speaker A [3:01 - 3:05]: Eeyore. Eeyore is a Aussie shepherd mix.

Speaker B [3:05 - 3:06]: That's right.

Speaker A [3:06 - 3:08]: He's five months old. He's cute as hell.

Speaker B [3:08 - 3:09]: He is adorable.

Speaker A [3:09 - 3:20]: Picked him up on Wednesday, and he's getting along great with our dog Duck, who gets along with everybody. So that's fine. And then good with people, good with everything. So we got a little QR code to his. We're really trying to find him a good home.

Speaker B [3:20 - 3:21]: That's right.

Speaker A [3:21 - 3:25]: We obviously would love to keep him, but we're gonna wind up keeping him.

Speaker B [3:25 - 3:26]: You're gonna wind up.

Speaker A [3:26 - 3:28]: But listen, we're gonna be a foster fail.

Speaker B [3:28 - 3:41]: If anybody out there would like to be a dog parent, Eeyore needs a home. So come over here. Scan the QR code or pass it along to a friend. For anybody looking for a brand new furry family member.

Speaker A [3:41 - 3:43]: Yeah, yeah. Good homes only.

Speaker B [3:43 - 3:44]: That's right. Good homes only.

Speaker A [3:44 - 3:53]: Good homes only. All right, so let's get into some music. Yeah, let's do that plenty of times. It's Saturday night. It's starting to cool down a little bit. Thank God we put up this.

Speaker B [3:53 - 3:56]: Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Thank God we got the backdrop smoked right now.

Speaker A [3:56 - 4:02]: I get the. Do you get that with the bald head? Like always, the sunburn, the half moon, and even with the mesh.

Speaker B [4:02 - 4:03]: Yeah, we're in the Bald Head club.

Speaker A [4:03 - 4:04]: Yeah, the bald head.

Speaker B [4:04 - 4:13]: This is what happens when you're bald. You get the weird sunburn. Yeah, right, right, you guys. Yeah, right. Yeah. You guys know. Yeah.

Speaker A [4:13 - 4:31]: Anyway, so it's Saturday night and let's play a little Serving for Daisy Jam and G. Saturday night. Great band. Check them out. See here. Now, if you've got tickets to that, we had them at Jersey Fest last year. They're incredible. This is one off their album Serving for Daisy. The Ergs. Right there with. Hey, Jealousy, a classic classic.

Speaker B [4:32 - 4:34]: People are grooving to that one, man. People are feeling that one.

Speaker A [4:34 - 4:36]: People were into the Ergs. They wanted to play more Ergs.

Speaker B [4:36 - 4:36]: Yeah.

Speaker A [4:36 - 4:57]: Also before that, Brian Fallon, of course, from Gaslight Anthem, of course, with if your Prayers don't get to heaven. And then we kick that music block off with serving for Daisy Jam and G. Saturday night. This is the Radio Garden State Roadshow. You can listen to Radio Garden State on radiogardenstate.com, tune in Odyssey, your Alexa device, radio.net. we finally got our Google Play store app approved.

Speaker B [4:57 - 4:58]: Approved.

Speaker A [4:58 - 5:02]: Which is amazing. IOS coming soon, but we'll make an announcement on when that's ready to go.

Speaker B [5:02 - 5:04]: We'll take the win. One out of two ain't bad.

Speaker A [5:04 - 5:11]: Yeah, it's been months trying to get that thing put together, but whatever, whatever. Shout out. Shout out. NJIT for doing it basically for free.

Speaker B [5:11 - 5:13]: I mean, that's it. Learning. It's a learning curve.

Speaker A [5:13 - 5:22]: Learning curve. Well, stepping up to the mic, special guest. Really important guest for me personally. Heath Traver, Glenbrook Brewery. Heath, welcome to the show, bud.

Speaker D [5:23 - 5:24]: Gentlemen, thanks for having me.

Speaker A [5:24 - 5:40]: Absolutely. So, obviously. Well, not obviously. Let's let the people know. Glenbrook Brewery, Morristown, NJ. When I was living in Morristown, especially during the pandemic and all that, on my Covid walks, I would literally walk by. What's that? Morris street, right?

Speaker D [5:40 - 5:46]: Yeah, Morris Street. And Mike became one of our favorite customers. We were sad for him to move out of the area.

Speaker A [5:46 - 5:57]: Yeah, I was sad to see him. Yeah. I mean, listen, I basically built all this stuff sitting in the corner of the bar at Glenbrook, drinking beers and being creative.

Speaker B [5:57 - 5:57]: Yeah.

Speaker A [5:57 - 5:58]: You know, creative juices.

Speaker B [5:59 - 6:03]: I mean, we even had. Yeah. The greetings from a Garden State party there.

Speaker A [6:03 - 6:04]: Multiple parties.

Speaker B [6:04 - 6:04]: Multiple parties.

Speaker A [6:04 - 6:08]: Yeah. One year, anniversary party, another party, all that.

Speaker B [6:08 - 6:09]: Yeah. It's a great spot.

Speaker A [6:09 - 6:16]: Yeah, a great spot. And it's a great brewery. So if you haven't been to Glenbrook, check it out. The cool thing about brew at the Zoo is you can go check them out. At what booth, Keith?

Speaker D [6:16 - 6:18]: We're number 82 by the Touch tank, right behind the band.

Speaker A [6:19 - 6:22]: Okay. And this is your. You guys have been at Brewer the Soup before?

Speaker D [6:22 - 6:27]: We're here every year. We've been open four and a half years now. So, you know, any chance we get to be here, we're. We're in.

Speaker A [6:27 - 6:32]: Yeah. What can people expect if they come over to the Glenbrook Brewery? 10. What do you got?

Speaker D [6:32 - 6:47]: So we have two offerings today. We have our. Our Morristown Hazy ipa, which is our most popular beer in house and in distribution. We also brought a mango agave sour, one of our favorite beers that we. That we make. It's a very interesting, fun beer. Not too crazy sour, but. But it's definitely a House favorite.

Speaker A [6:48 - 6:49]: That's awesome.

Speaker B [6:49 - 6:51]: Love it. You got something perfect for a summer day, man.

Speaker A [6:51 - 6:52]: Yeah, it's a good hot day.

Speaker B [6:52 - 6:53]: Summer. Yeah.

Speaker A [6:53 - 6:55]: You got the two great ones.

Speaker D [6:55 - 7:04]: Yeah. 100. The other sour is perfect for a day like today. We brought our hazy because the most popular one. But the. The hate. The. The I. The. The sour is. Is great. Perfect for a day like today.

Speaker A [7:04 - 7:10]: And you guys also do the mug club. I know it's not called mug club. It's called something else. Right. General's quarters. General. What is it called?

Speaker D [7:10 - 7:13]: Well, we have the general's quarters, which are our semi private room upstairs.

Speaker A [7:13 - 7:15]: We get all your things mixed up.

Speaker B [7:16 - 7:17]: Yeah, but that room is great.

Speaker D [7:17 - 7:33]: Yeah, we have a mug club as well. It's. We do multiple parties throughout the year. We just had an event where we did it at the distillery around the corner. We're doing another picnic in Morris and Lewis Morris park. And we're doing a road trip to Manhattan Yacht Club to hang out in Hudson Bay and watch the regattas.

Speaker A [7:33 - 7:50]: Cool. That's dope. Yeah, we. I, Duck and I went out to their mud club party. I guess like a member, you know, appreciation. And it was phenomenal. Like everybody was there drinking beer, eating food, you know, doing their thing. It was. It was a lot of fun. For sure.

Speaker D [7:50 - 8:02]: Yeah. It's such a cool community. We're very fortunate that our customer base is great. Very cool people. Great to hang out with and we enjoy hanging out with them and they enjoy hanging out with each other. Maybe not so much hanging out with us, but that's okay.

Speaker B [8:02 - 8:03]: Yeah.

Speaker A [8:03 - 8:36]: I mean, that's why I like stopping by the brewery because I was hanging out with you and Darren and Connor and everybody and you know, it was always, it was always a good time. And you know, it's just been cool to kind of watch like the trajectory of you guys and how much success you've been having and all that, which is always. It makes me happy because I know that you guys are good guys as much as, you know, you may try not to be. But when we're looking forward, obviously Glenbrook's got a lot of stuff going on. There's best band trivia on Wednesday. There's all these things you guys do. What are some things maybe coming down the road at Glenbrook that people should keep an eye out for that you guys are excited about?

Speaker D [8:36 - 9:10]: Yeah. So we always do fun events. Every week we have multiple events, but one that's coming up in November, that's very cool. Is our Colonial Tavern night. The lights go out, we light the whole place with antique lanterns. We have a blacksmith who does a demonstration on the patio. We have colonial era food and we create it and we have the reenactors that come in and we recreate a tavern that you would have been in in the late 1700s. And that's where all the action happened back then. That's where everybody gathered there so that we kind of recreate that. That atmosphere. And it's been very successful in the past. It's really fun.

Speaker A [9:10 - 9:10]: Yeah.

Speaker B [9:10 - 9:13]: George Washington himself would have come to Glenbrook Brewery.

Speaker A [9:13 - 9:13]: Oh, for sure.

Speaker B [9:13 - 9:14]: He absolutely would have.

Speaker D [9:14 - 9:14]: 100%.

Speaker A [9:14 - 9:17]: Yeah. That pumpkin beer, he'd be all about it.

Speaker B [9:17 - 9:18]: Absolutely.

Speaker A [9:18 - 9:21]: Yeah. You know, that's how Glenbrook got started was the pumpkin beer. Yeah, right.

Speaker D [9:21 - 9:44]: Yeah, true. So, yeah, I won a silver award for that when I was home brewing in a homebrew competition in Morristown called mash. And that's when we were like, okay, we have something here. So we started kind of. My brother in law started developing the marketing behind Morristown and Morris county, the rich revolutionary history in the area. And I developed the beer styles and then we started looking at places and here we are like, I don't know, ten years later now.

Speaker A [9:44 - 9:45]: Amazing.

Speaker B [9:45 - 9:45]: Love it.

Speaker A [9:45 - 9:50]: If people want to learn more about Glenbrook, obviously they can stop by your tent, which is remind them again.

Speaker D [9:50 - 9:55]: Yeah, number 82. We're right by the touch tanks and right behind where the band sets up.

Speaker A [9:55 - 10:02]: Amazing. So people want. They can come learn more. But over there. But where would you send them website socials? Where do you want them to go to learn more about that?

Speaker D [10:02 - 10:15]: Glenbrookbrewery.com all the socials at Glenbrook Brewery. Yeah, come visit us. We have a great online presence with our Instagram and our socials. We have a gal that does it for us and she's fantastic. So, yeah, follow us, please.

Speaker A [10:15 - 10:29]: Amazing. Well, go check out Glenbrook brewery, Morristown, New Jersey. Booth 82. I think you said Booth 82. 82. I was listening. Glenbrook Brewery, Morrison, New Jersey. Heath, thank you so much. Appreciate it. We'll let you get back to enjoying the day.

Speaker D [10:29 - 10:30]: Thanks for having me, gentlemen.

Speaker A [10:30 - 10:30]: Absolutely.

Speaker B [10:31 - 10:31]: Thanks.

Speaker A [10:31 - 10:36]: All right, let's keep it rolling, Chris. We're doing a little Connor Bracken and the Mother leads band when the World Stops Turning.

Speaker B [10:36 - 10:37]: Turn it up.

Speaker A [10:37 - 10:52]: That was the Nightbirds right there. A little slow on the pause there, Mike. Born or Die in Suburbia. Right before that, Boardwalk Saints with Amy and the Stars at Night and of course, Connor Bracken. And the Mother leads band with when the World Stops Turning. We just Had Heath Traver from Glenbrook Brewery on the show.

Speaker B [10:52 - 10:55]: Shout out to Heath, man. Thank you for the. Thanks for the, the brews.

Speaker A [10:55 - 11:07]: Yeah, he brought us some beers over here. So if anybody wants to bring us some beers while we're doing this, that would be much appreciated. Yeah, just looking at you. Brick City Twin elephant. Ironbound cider. Sigmeister 7 tribesman. All the ones over there.

Speaker B [11:07 - 11:09]: All the ones over there. Sigme. Yeah.

Speaker A [11:09 - 11:10]: Yeah, I can't.

Speaker B [11:10 - 11:11]: I can't read the other one all the way at the.

Speaker A [11:11 - 11:12]: I can't read that one either.

Speaker B [11:12 - 11:13]: Icarus.

Speaker A [11:13 - 11:13]: Icarus.

Speaker B [11:14 - 11:17]: Any of you, if you just want to come over here and drop some beer on the table, that would be.

Speaker A [11:17 - 11:22]: Yeah, we've got a lot of people looking at the sign on our table. But I'm just going to talk about him again.

Speaker B [11:22 - 11:23]: Let's talk about the sign because he's.

Speaker A [11:23 - 11:27]: A really sweet boy. We're currently fostering a puppy.

Speaker B [11:27 - 11:27]: That's right.

Speaker A [11:27 - 11:37]: Who is adorable. He's so sweet, so smart, so loving. Picking up a lot of stuff. Really. He's getting good at walks. He's becoming less frequently peeing in the.

Speaker B [11:37 - 11:38]: House, which is great.

Speaker A [11:38 - 11:39]: Which is all. Everyone likes that.

Speaker B [11:39 - 11:40]: I already.

Speaker A [11:40 - 11:48]: He's good in the crate, he's good in the car. He's literally a great dog. We just can't. We just don't have the room for a permanent two dog situation. Yeah. Eeyore.

Speaker B [11:48 - 11:50]: Eeyore. Eeyore is great.

Speaker A [11:50 - 11:56]: Yeah. So if you're interested in. If you're looking, just happen to be looking for a dog. Come check out Eeyore.

Speaker B [11:56 - 11:56]: Eeyore.

Speaker A [11:56 - 11:58]: We'd be happy to help, you know, make that happen.

Speaker B [11:58 - 12:10]: Absolutely. Yeah. So swing by our table, scan a QR code if you're interested or if you got a friend or someone, you know, family member who's looking for new furry family member to join. Join the clan.

Speaker A [12:10 - 12:12]: He's got big ass ears. He looks like a fruit bat.

Speaker B [12:12 - 12:12]: He is cute.

Speaker A [12:12 - 12:20]: Yeah. He's got really face. Yeah. So one of the things that we do here on Radio Garden State, we do songs of the week.

Speaker B [12:20 - 12:23]: That's right. We've been doing songs of the week since almost.

Speaker A [12:23 - 12:25]: Since we started back July started. Yeah.

Speaker B [12:25 - 12:29]: July 1st is going to be one year and we've been doing these for almost a full year.

Speaker A [12:29 - 12:32]: That's right. One year on Tuesday. We don't even have anything planned.

Speaker B [12:32 - 12:36]: We have nothing planned. We're like, you know what? That's the most Jersey thing ever, right?

Speaker A [12:36 - 12:36]: Yeah.

Speaker B [12:36 - 12:39]: Like it just turn one. That's it.

Speaker A [12:39 - 12:39]: Deal. With it.

Speaker B [12:39 - 13:00]: Deal with it. You know, that's. That's a Jersey thing. But yeah, Songs of the week was something we started doing because that was your idea. I mean, this was a whole. The whole station, the whole concept behind the station is shining a light on New Jersey based artists, musicians, the people here creating. And we said, well, why don't we do. Every week let's spotlight a song from a Jersey artist.

Speaker A [13:00 - 13:00]: Yeah.

Speaker B [13:00 - 13:02]: That we're playing on the station.

Speaker A [13:02 - 13:14]: Yeah. And this one. So we're gonna do a little run of some of our more recent songs of the week. This one, I think is just very apt for currently what we're doing. You want to talk about this one, Chris, because this is your pick.

Speaker B [13:14 - 13:47]: Yes, is my pick for the week. And yeah, how Mike and I normally do these is. Mike and I go back and forth every week. We pick an artist that's been on our radar, mostly when they drop a new song. But yeah, Georgia Owen, great artist here in New Jersey, and she was actually just at the Barefoot Country Festival. She just played down in Wildwood, I think a week or two ago, and she dropped a song just right at the end of spring or like mid spring. And I was like, man, this song has got great summer vibes. And really it holds up. And I'm like, there's nothing better than a great summer tune. This is definitely my candidate for song of the summer.

Speaker A [13:47 - 13:48]: Absolutely.

Speaker B [13:48 - 14:01]: Absolutely. It's up there. So I don't know. This is a great vibey tune. So if you're listening to us, whether you're here at Brew at the Zoo or checking us out, turn this one up, guys, and just feel the summer vibes because this is definitely a windows down, Just chill, just cruise.

Speaker A [14:01 - 14:18]: Cruising, cruising. Happy Hour. Georgia Owen here at the Brew at the Zoo, Essex County's Turtle Back Zoo. Enjoy. Don't turn around from Blaze at Asbury Park. Also, Sweet Dream mezzanine from Blush.

Speaker B [14:18 - 14:22]: A great baseline, man, that's a great. It's a killer baseline.

Speaker A [14:22 - 14:23]: Funky as hell.

Speaker B [14:23 - 14:25]: Cannot get that baseline out of my. Out of my head.

Speaker A [14:25 - 14:28]: Yeah. And then of course, George Owen with Happy Hour.

Speaker B [14:28 - 14:29]: Such vibes, great vibes.

Speaker A [14:29 - 14:32]: Chris, how's your Brew at the Zoo experience going so far?

Speaker B [14:32 - 14:53]: So far, my Brew at the Zoo, my very first Brew at the Zoo experience is going great. This is awesome. This is a really cool event. I'm really glad we're doing this. Yeah, I love it. So many cool people walking by and everybody's checking out Eeyore here who's, you know, we're trying to Find a home for Eeyore. Fostering Eeyore. So he is a very good boy. So if you or know someone who can help, come by a table.

Speaker A [14:53 - 14:56]: I can answer any questions about Eeyore that you could possibly have.

Speaker B [14:56 - 15:00]: But I am. I can't get my eyes off the ironbound tent. I got to get over there soon.

Speaker A [15:00 - 15:02]: Well, let's chat a little bit.

Speaker B [15:02 - 15:03]: Yeah.

Speaker A [15:03 - 15:03]: I have a question for you.

Speaker B [15:03 - 15:04]: Yes, sir?

Speaker A [15:04 - 15:06]: What's your favorite animal?

Speaker B [15:06 - 15:16]: My favorite animal? This is a very good question. I think my favorite animal. I like the gorillas. Man.

Speaker A [15:17 - 15:17]: Gorillas.

Speaker B [15:17 - 15:18]: I like the gorillas.

Speaker A [15:18 - 15:20]: What about the gorilla? I don't know.

Speaker B [15:20 - 15:30]: They're just. They're just cool to watch. Like, they're so much like us, you know, like, very fascinating to see. Like, we're not actually, you know, that far removed.

Speaker A [15:30 - 15:31]: Yeah.

Speaker B [15:31 - 15:35]: You know, they mean we. We are related. And I think it's very cool. I don't know. I love watch it.

Speaker A [15:35 - 15:36]: It's very deep.

Speaker B [15:36 - 15:38]: It is. It is.

Speaker A [15:38 - 15:38]: It is.

Speaker B [15:38 - 15:42]: But I like, you know, like, places like Turtleback Zoo. Is a great zoo. Is an excellent zoo.

Speaker A [15:42 - 15:44]: We've already seen a hyena.

Speaker B [15:44 - 15:50]: Yeah. They treat the animal very well here. And yeah, I think the gorillas might be my favorite.

Speaker A [15:50 - 15:50]: Okay.

Speaker B [15:50 - 15:53]: Yeah. What about you, Mike? Who's your. What is your favorite animal?

Speaker A [15:53 - 15:54]: Grizzly bear.

Speaker B [15:54 - 15:55]: Grizzly bear is good. That's a good one.

Speaker A [15:55 - 16:01]: My favorite quote is, if you're going to be a bear, be a grizzly. So be the most biggest, badass version of anything.

Speaker B [16:01 - 16:02]: That makes a lot of sense.

Speaker A [16:02 - 16:05]: They're very. Obviously, they're an apex predator.

Speaker B [16:05 - 16:06]: Predator.

Speaker A [16:06 - 16:14]: That's right. They are very adaptable to their environment. There's so many things I like about it. And yeah, they're just. It's just badass. It is grizzly bear. Badass.

Speaker B [16:14 - 16:18]: Grizzly bear is badass. And if I saw one in the woods, I would be terrified.

Speaker A [16:18 - 16:18]: You'd be dead.

Speaker B [16:18 - 16:19]: I'd be dead.

Speaker A [16:19 - 16:20]: You'd be dead.

Speaker B [16:20 - 16:20]: Be dead.

Speaker A [16:20 - 16:21]: Yeah. Most likely that.

Speaker B [16:21 - 16:21]: Yeah.

Speaker A [16:21 - 16:23]: Well, you're not outrunning it.

Speaker B [16:23 - 16:24]: That's true.

Speaker A [16:24 - 16:25]: Not on that wheel.

Speaker B [16:25 - 16:26]: That's true. Not on this wheel.

Speaker A [16:26 - 16:26]: One.

Speaker B [16:26 - 16:27]: Good. Not yet. Well, it's.

Speaker A [16:27 - 16:31]: It is a bionic wheel. Maybe it will be a good wheel. Yeah.

Speaker B [16:31 - 16:33]: It's new. It's brand new.

Speaker A [16:33 - 16:35]: Yeah. Right. Now, if you ran into a grizzly bear, you wouldn't have much.

Speaker B [16:35 - 16:37]: I would be dead even.

Speaker A [16:37 - 16:39]: Even if once it's healed, you're not gonna have much of a shot.

Speaker B [16:39 - 16:40]: True. Very true.

Speaker A [16:40 - 16:44]: You know, so, Chris, we play a lot of Jersey music on the station, don't we?

Speaker B [16:44 - 16:47]: We play a ton of Jersey music here on the station.

Speaker A [16:47 - 16:53]: Yeah. And one of the things that we always like to do is feature new stuff from Jersey based artists.

Speaker B [16:53 - 16:58]: Absolutely. We love it. I mean, you know, first of all, who else is gonna play it? That's why Radio Garden State exists.

Speaker A [16:58 - 16:59]: That's right.

Speaker B [16:59 - 17:03]: So we can play that new music that maybe corporate radio would just completely.

Speaker A [17:03 - 17:05]: Or the algorithms.

Speaker B [17:05 - 17:17]: Or the algorithms, you know, so that's what we're here. I actually feel like it is our duty as a New Jersey radio station, a true New Jersey radio station, to play New New Jersey music.

Speaker A [17:18 - 17:19]: New New Jersey music.

Speaker B [17:19 - 17:21]: New New New New Jersey music.

Speaker A [17:21 - 17:25]: Oh, I'm with you. I'm into it. Because this is why we exist.

Speaker B [17:25 - 17:26]: It's why we exist.

Speaker A [17:26 - 17:31]: Yeah. It's why we exist. Anyway, I'm gonna play a couple new songs from some Jersey based artists.

Speaker B [17:31 - 17:31]: Please do.

Speaker A [17:31 - 17:35]: The first one being from Crazy in the Brains out of Jersey City. Great punk band.

Speaker B [17:35 - 17:36]: Great punk band.

Speaker A [17:36 - 17:57]: So this one's called Fantasy. And then we got one from Cranston Dean. My boy Cousin Cran hosts WFKU every Wednesday night here on. From 6 to 8pm on Radio Garden State. And we'll talk about the other shows as we get through the rest of the thing. But this one from Brain's called Fantasy. It's brand new, just came out. Enjoy. That's right. Eeyore is a very good boy.

Speaker B [17:57 - 17:58]: He's the bestest boy.

Speaker A [17:58 - 18:09]: He's a very good boy. We just. We have a dog. We can't support two dogs for in perpetuity, but if you're interested, he is so good. Five months old. He is. We're live on the radio, by the way.

Speaker B [18:09 - 18:10]: We are live on the radio.

Speaker A [18:11 - 18:20]: He is five months old. He's almost fully potty trained or house trained. He is phenomenal. He's super sweet, super smart, cuddly.

Speaker B [18:20 - 18:21]: He's great.

Speaker A [18:22 - 18:35]: I'm fostering him. I'm fostering him right now. Yeah, and he is great. We picked him up on Wednesday. He gets along with my dog Duck really well. And. Yeah, I'll give you my card.

Speaker B [18:36 - 18:46]: Yeah, there you go. So. That's right. So, guys, we are fostering Eeyore. So if you'd like to swing by Radio Garden State table here. Scan the QR code.

Speaker A [18:48 - 18:53]: We really just want them to go to a good home, you know, so. Absolutely. Yeah.

Speaker B [18:54 - 18:56]: A. Sorry to hear that.

Speaker A [18:56 - 19:11]: He. I, I swear, like, I, I'm. I wouldn't. I mean, everyone says that their dog's the best. And nobody's wrong. And he is really great with. Get along with other dogs. Yeah. My dog is. My dog is a sweetheart. So she's a year and a half. So like two puppies running around the house all day.

Speaker B [19:13 - 19:14]: Seven.

Speaker A [19:14 - 19:16]: Yeah, but he's super chill. He's.

Speaker B [19:16 - 19:17]: Yeah, yeah.

Speaker A [19:20 - 19:22]: We'Ll talk. Yeah.

Speaker B [19:22 - 19:24]: Excellent. Thank you.

Speaker A [19:25 - 19:41]: They. We honestly. We've honestly been calling them like yo and Yogi and Eeyore is just like hard to say, like all the time, you know? Yeah. Old bother. Yeah, right. Yeah. Oh, Chris doing a tattoo demonstration. Full sleeves.

Speaker B [19:42 - 19:51]: Was that Blade Runner? No talk about it. Oh, that's Betty Page. Yeah, Betty Page. Pinnit model. But then the rest is all Star Wars.

Speaker A [19:51 - 19:54]: Boba Fett, big Star wars guy.

Speaker B [19:54 - 19:58]: Darth Vader. Yeah, I know, right? Sean Young. I love that.

Speaker A [19:58 - 19:59]: Oh, you're getting there.

Speaker B [20:00 - 20:01]: Yes.

Speaker A [20:01 - 20:02]: Whoa. Yeah.

Speaker B [20:02 - 20:03]: Jake and El.

Speaker A [20:05 - 20:06]: Oh, my God.

Speaker B [20:06 - 20:06]: We're on a mission.

Speaker A [20:06 - 20:08]: Like a tattoo convention over here.

Speaker B [20:08 - 20:11]: All this tattoo convention happen. I love it.

Speaker A [20:11 - 20:15]: We went down on the same day. I love that. I like that Blues Brother 1. That thing's dope.

Speaker B [20:15 - 20:18]: This is great. Excellent. Thank you guys for stopping by. Thank you.

Speaker A [20:18 - 20:18]: Give me a call.

Speaker B [20:18 - 20:19]: Thank you.

Speaker A [20:19 - 20:19]: Absolutely. For sure.

Speaker B [20:19 - 20:24]: Nice radio, Gard State. Making friends, Fostering dogs.

Speaker A [20:24 - 20:24]: That's right.

Speaker B [20:24 - 20:26]: Playing New New Jersey music.

Speaker A [20:26 - 20:36]: New New Jersey music. That was just Golden Cage. If I can get the words out from cousin Cran. Cranston Dean. Yes, we said we can. You can catch him every Wednesday hosting WFKU on Radio Garden State.

Speaker B [20:36 - 20:37]: That's right.

Speaker A [20:37 - 20:41]: Which is a phenomenal show. He does it live every Monday night at Chubby Pickle in Atlantic Highlands.

Speaker B [20:41 - 20:42]: Yes.

Speaker A [20:42 - 20:54]: And then we record it and broadcast it. We're just. Yeah, Eeyore is great, if you're interested. He really is a dog. But what's your favorite show on the station besides your own, Chris?

Speaker B [20:54 - 20:56]: Besides my own shows.

Speaker A [20:57 - 20:57]: Yeah, your shows.

Speaker B [20:58 - 21:06]: I am, and I am not bashful about saying this, I say it on my show. Ron Santee. Sonic Boom is probably my favorite show.

Speaker A [21:06 - 21:07]: It is a great show.

Speaker B [21:07 - 21:09]: I love a lot of the shows on the station, by the way.

Speaker A [21:09 - 21:10]: Yeah, but we're not picking favorites.

Speaker B [21:10 - 21:18]: Yeah, but I do have. You know, I love Sonic Boom. Timmy. Good tunes, movie tunes. Makes me laugh. Friday nights at 8.

Speaker A [21:19 - 21:22]: Timmy's been with us, I think, almost as long as you.

Speaker B [21:23 - 21:25]: Yeah, I think so. I think almost as long.

Speaker A [21:25 - 21:25]: Yeah.

Speaker B [21:25 - 21:29]: And. And I got to tell you, even though I'm not a big house music fan.

Speaker A [21:29 - 21:29]: Yeah.

Speaker B [21:30 - 21:33]: I love Johnny show on Wednesday nights at 8 o' clock.

Speaker A [21:33 - 21:38]: That's right. Fusion Frequency. John Luch exclusive, Wednesdays at 8 o' clock.

Speaker B [21:38 - 21:41]: Shout out to Johnny. She is. She's awesome. She brings the energy.

Speaker A [21:41 - 21:42]: She definitely does.

Speaker B [21:42 - 21:43]: She brings the energy.

Speaker A [21:43 - 21:44]: She's not short on energy.

Speaker B [21:44 - 21:50]: No, like fit. Like Chris. Too fit Chris. Chris's show brings the energy at 12 o' clock when you need it. Great. Pick me up.

Speaker A [21:50 - 21:55]: Absolutely. Speaking of energy. Yeah, we're gonna change up the vibe a little bit.

Speaker B [21:55 - 21:56]: Let's do it, man.

Speaker A [21:56 - 21:58]: Yeah. This one's from Fair Panic. They're out of Montclair, New Jersey.

Speaker B [21:58 - 21:59]: Great band.

Speaker A [21:59 - 22:04]: This one's called Soul. They have a song, Soul. This is the Excessive Booty Shaking edition, though.

Speaker B [22:04 - 22:07]: Oh, I like it. Excessive Booty Shaking Edition.

Speaker A [22:07 - 22:13]: Soul from Fair Panic out of Montclair, New Jersey. Check it out. Bobby Mahoney.

Speaker B [22:13 - 22:18]: Wow. That's how you finish the song. That's how you finish a song.

Speaker A [22:18 - 22:32]: That's right. Anyway, we also had in there Randy Hayes trio out of Newark, Rachel Anna Dobkin out of Red bank, and of course, Fair Panic out of Montclair, New Jersey. But stepping up to the mic, a very special guest, Mark Costa. Mark, welcome to the show.

Speaker B [22:32 - 22:32]: What's up, Mark?

Speaker E [22:32 - 22:33]: How are you doing?

Speaker A [22:33 - 22:39]: From Veritage Brewing. That's me in Bloomfield, New Jersey. We love Bloomfield, New Jersey around here. We these parts.

Speaker B [22:39 - 22:40]: That's right. Hq.

Speaker A [22:40 - 22:46]: Yeah. Mark, tell us what's going on here today. What. What is. What is Veritage got, where are you and what kind of beers you have over there?

Speaker B [22:46 - 22:47]: Yeah.

Speaker E [22:47 - 22:57]: So this is my first brew at the zoo. It's very cool. We're still kind of new ish. About a year and a half, but we're up by the new alligator exhibit.

Speaker B [22:57 - 22:57]: Nice.

Speaker A [22:57 - 22:58]: Cool.

Speaker E [22:58 - 22:58]: Pretty cool.

Speaker A [22:58 - 22:59]: Have you seen any? Have you seen any?

Speaker E [22:59 - 23:00]: It's massive.

Speaker B [23:00 - 23:01]: You got to check it out.

Speaker E [23:01 - 23:11]: Yeah, it's cool. So we have our session, Hazy ipa, Pitch Invader, and our flagship Variedge Premium Pale Lagers, Czech Style Lager, which is a great beer.

Speaker A [23:11 - 23:12]: Yeah, I've definitely had that before.

Speaker E [23:12 - 23:15]: Cool. Yeah. Good drinking summer beers out there. So.

Speaker A [23:15 - 23:19]: Yeah, that's great. Can we talk also about so Variedge? Interesting name.

Speaker E [23:19 - 23:20]: Yes.

Speaker A [23:20 - 23:22]: Can we talk about what that means?

Speaker E [23:22 - 23:44]: Sure. It's the word variety and the word heritage combined. When I was trying to trademark for the brewery, it was near impossible with all the casino. The government recognizes wineries, distilleries, breweries under the same umbrella. You can't have a similar name as anybody. So my lawyer is like, you're gonna have to make up a word. So I did. So I took the word variety and heritage.

Speaker B [23:44 - 23:45]: It's a good one.

Speaker E [23:45 - 23:50]: Portuguese, Italian, grew up in North Jersey. So we kind of clashed that with everything that we got going on at the brewery.

Speaker A [23:51 - 23:54]: Yeah. And you guys. And you also have the kit on the veritage kit.

Speaker E [23:54 - 23:55]: Yeah, these are new kits.

Speaker A [23:55 - 24:10]: So can we talk about. So there's a unique thing about Veritage that I think is cool. And then we're gonna get into another thing that's going on with Radio Garden State and you guys in. But can we talk about what the theme, for lack of a better word is of Veritage.

Speaker E [24:10 - 24:14]: Yeah. So we kind of turned into the New Jersey Soccer centric Brewery.

Speaker B [24:14 - 24:15]: Nice.

Speaker E [24:15 - 24:18]: Kind of on accident, but kind of on purpose, I guess.

Speaker A [24:18 - 24:19]: Yeah. Well, you're a big soccer guy.

Speaker E [24:19 - 24:20]: Yeah, I'm a huge soccer guy.

Speaker B [24:20 - 24:20]: Yeah.

Speaker E [24:20 - 24:30]: Like, I just started my season. I'm a high school soccer coach. I played my college ball not too far from here at Caldwell University. I grew up playing high school ball at Netley High School. So I'm a local guy.

Speaker A [24:30 - 24:31]: Yeah.

Speaker E [24:31 - 24:37]: I just started watching soccer at the brewery, and it just kind of became a thing. Morphed into something crazy.

Speaker A [24:37 - 24:37]: Yeah.

Speaker E [24:37 - 24:39]: I mean, you've been at some of the watch parties.

Speaker A [24:39 - 24:39]: Yeah.

Speaker E [24:39 - 24:44]: It's some of the events that we do soccer centricly, and it's awesome. I love it.

Speaker A [24:44 - 24:59]: Yeah. And, like, you've done collabs with, like, you know, like, New Jersey soccer legends, and really soccer legends in their own right, like Tab Ramos and some others. And then you also have another cool thing coming up. You know, I don't know if we can talk about that. Yeah, the artist thing. Yeah, let's talk about that.

Speaker B [24:59 - 25:00]: Exclusive.

Speaker E [25:00 - 25:01]: Exclusive.

Speaker A [25:01 - 25:01]: Yeah.

Speaker E [25:01 - 25:02]: What are we talking about?

Speaker A [25:02 - 25:04]: What's exclusive with the World Cup?

Speaker E [25:05 - 25:07]: Yeah, totally. We could talk about that.

Speaker A [25:07 - 25:09]: Yeah. I don't know if that was, like, a secret or not. I just started talking about it.

Speaker E [25:09 - 25:43]: Yeah. So we. I mean, it's still an initial conversations. We brought in the World cup planning committee, and we also brought in New Jersey Youth soccer on it. But we're talking with Rich Tew, who designed the New York, New Jersey World cup post. So I reached out to him. We've been talking, and he kind of loves what we're doing. And we're going to collaborate on a beer. We're just trying to line it up with something with the World cup planning committee so that there's something bigger kind of involved. But we just want to plant the flag. Like, hey, man, the finals in Jersey. This is ours.

Speaker A [25:43 - 25:44]: Yeah.

Speaker E [25:44 - 25:56]: So that's kind of what this collaboration is about. And we work really closely with New Jersey Youth Soccer, donating portions of the proceeds of some of these collaboration beers to benefit youth, the youth programs in Jersey.

Speaker A [25:56 - 26:17]: Yeah. And we are also collabing soon on a brand new show here on Radio Garden State, which will most likely something to change 11am on Thursdays. We'll be live. It's called the Back Three. Yeah. Correct. Let's talk a little bit about what the Back three is, who the hosts are. Obviously you're one of them. There's two others.

Speaker B [26:17 - 26:17]: Yeah.

Speaker A [26:17 - 26:20]: And then what the show is going to be all about. Cool.

Speaker E [26:20 - 26:51]: Yeah. I mean, it's something that we wanted to do for a while and it's. It was kind of inspired by. I don't know if you guys have seen Soccer Town usa. So that was about like Tab and Meola and Harks, that crew, which is wild. Still wild to me that, like, I text with those guys now, but just like picking up where that left off. Especially with the World cup coming here. We wanted to tell that story and kind of update people on how far MLS has come and what's going on soccer wise in Jersey.

Speaker B [26:51 - 26:51]: Right.

Speaker E [26:51 - 27:14]: So that's what this show is about. So I'm gonna be one of the co hosts. And then we have George Martinez, who is part of the exchange. He's actually at the Red Bull game now. He's part of the media, so he's always in the locker room. So he's on the ground with the local pro teams, New York City FC and Red Bull. And then we have Mike Barra who owns the soccer post and runs Thistle and Carney, which is legendary youth club.

Speaker A [27:14 - 27:15]: Yeah.

Speaker E [27:15 - 27:26]: So we're going to be doing the show from the soccer post and we're going to have crazy old school Carnegie guys come on and talk soccer and beer with us. And also you never know who's going to pop on the show.

Speaker A [27:26 - 27:26]: That's true.

Speaker E [27:26 - 27:30]: Because these contacts are kind of growing now and people are picking up what we're putting down.

Speaker A [27:30 - 27:42]: So it's fun now. We're really excited about it because obviously, like, I mean, you said the game is growing considerably and then obviously the club World Cup's going on right now. The World Cup's coming here. The final is in New Jersey. They can say New York, New Jersey all they want.

Speaker B [27:42 - 27:43]: Whatever, it's here.

Speaker A [27:44 - 28:15]: And the fact that now we have something. Like when we started talking with some different people about doing a show, I was like, I can't talk about this. I don't know anything about Soccer and when I met you. And then the more we started talking about these things, it just kind of like made a lot of sense. So I'm really excited about it and excited to see kind of what comes of it and different events that we can do and all that kind of stuff. But beyond that, going back to the brewery, Chris, you should check out variation because they do this whole thing on Fridays in Bloomfield when they shut down Washington street, which is where Veritage is. Right, right.

Speaker B [28:15 - 28:15]: Yeah.

Speaker E [28:15 - 28:17]: It was bonkers last night. It was Caribbean night.

Speaker A [28:17 - 28:18]: Oh, my God. Dude.

Speaker B [28:18 - 28:32]: Yeah, I gotta get down there for sure. My. I got a bunch of friends. They all actually were just at the brewery and they're like, you know, varied. I'm like, yeah, I. I know, but I've written down it. But yeah, they were. They were raving about the brewery, so that's awesome. I was like, well, yeah, that's cool. Let me tell you something.

Speaker A [28:34 - 28:42]: But, yeah, so they do that whole thing. But are there things coming up with Veritage that you're excited about that you can talk about that you want to share here on this radio program today?

Speaker E [28:43 - 28:50]: Yeah. So there is something new that we kind of thought up, and it's called the Whisper Seller Society. I don't know if you heard about it. So we launched it last month.

Speaker A [28:50 - 28:51]: Just whispers. Just whispers.

Speaker E [28:51 - 28:58]: Just whispers. So essentially it came down to I was trying to work with the town about getting a food truck, because in Jersey we can't have kitchens.

Speaker A [28:58 - 28:58]: Yeah.

Speaker E [28:58 - 29:06]: And they were, like, a little hesitant about it because we have so many great restaurants on the block. But I still needed that food component, like, at my doorstep.

Speaker A [29:06 - 29:06]: Yeah.

Speaker E [29:06 - 29:24]: So I was like, all right, hold my beer. I got an idea. So we're. We've been collaborating with local chefs in Jersey and basically flipping the brewery into like a New York City esque, like, hipster restaurant. All right, the first Wednesday of every month.

Speaker A [29:24 - 29:24]: Cool.

Speaker E [29:25 - 29:53]: So we're going to be working with pop up chefs, people who have been on Top Chef. We have about seven more chefs lined up, coming up. So basically, we take all the furniture out of the brewery, put restaurant furniture in there. Everybody has. We'll launch the secret menu on Mondays with some video content. And then you have 48 hours to lock in your reservation. We only have about 25 to 30 reservations, depending on the food that we're serving.

Speaker A [29:53 - 29:53]: Yeah.

Speaker E [29:53 - 29:57]: You come into the brewery and you're served dinner on plate. Plates and silverware.

Speaker B [29:57 - 29:58]: That's awesome.

Speaker E [29:58 - 29:58]: Three course meal.

Speaker A [29:58 - 29:59]: Yeah.

Speaker E [29:59 - 30:08]: So we do pairing with beers with that. And also I Told the chefs. I was like, I want you guys to make things that are not available in your brick and mortar.

Speaker A [30:08 - 30:10]: Sure. Make it special.

Speaker B [30:10 - 30:11]: I like that. It's an experience. Experience.

Speaker E [30:12 - 30:14]: So it's kind of like a speakeasy restaurant.

Speaker A [30:14 - 30:15]: Yeah.

Speaker E [30:15 - 30:29]: So it dances on the gray areas of what we could legally do. Essentially, it's glorified takeout. But it is what it is, and it's awesome, and people are really, really liking it. And exposing people to, you know, chefs that they may have not heard of.

Speaker A [30:29 - 30:29]: Yeah.

Speaker E [30:29 - 30:32]: Then gives me a chance to nerd out and pair beer with.

Speaker B [30:32 - 30:37]: Yeah. Which is awesome shops. And I love that. I love that. That there's nothing better than getting, like, those recommendations.

Speaker A [30:37 - 30:57]: Well, I think. I think that really goes back into the fact that, like, in my opinion, I mean, obviously, in the hospitality, where there's a lot of creativity, but for the most part, like, brewery owners are some of the most creative people that I've come across. You are definitely towards the top of that list. Just because, like, you kind of have to be in certain aspects of the business, because, like, if you're just selling beer, there's a lot of room.

Speaker E [30:57 - 30:59]: Maybe, like, 10 years ago, that was enough.

Speaker A [30:59 - 31:09]: Yeah, for sure. But now it's not like you need to bring something else to the table. And all the stuff you guys do, like, when I. When I stopped in that one night and you guys were doing the. The painting party, like, that thing was crazy.

Speaker E [31:09 - 31:10]: Yeah. It was bonkers.

Speaker A [31:10 - 31:22]: That was nuts. And I was like, people are going to show up for this. And then, like, by the time I left, the place was full. You know, it was nuts. It was so cool to see. And you're just, what, a year and a half in at that spot now.

Speaker E [31:22 - 31:22]: Yeah.

Speaker A [31:22 - 31:23]: Yeah.

Speaker E [31:23 - 31:25]: So October. End of October will be two years.

Speaker A [31:25 - 31:25]: Okay.

Speaker B [31:25 - 31:26]: It's awesome, man.

Speaker A [31:26 - 31:27]: Yeah. Amazing.

Speaker B [31:27 - 31:30]: Yeah. As a small business owner, you got to constantly be pivoting.

Speaker A [31:30 - 31:31]: Oh, yeah, for sure.

Speaker B [31:31 - 31:32]: Coming up with ideas.

Speaker A [31:32 - 31:42]: Right? Yeah. So let's remind people where you are here so that people can go check out Vardage Brew Works in Bloomfield, New Jersey. But here you are at were Booth.

Speaker E [31:42 - 31:54]: 24 on the map. I think it's over by the otters and the alligators, close to the flamingos. So we're right next to departed souls and that tucked back area.

Speaker A [31:54 - 31:54]: Nice.

Speaker B [31:54 - 31:55]: Awesome.

Speaker A [31:55 - 31:59]: And then if people want to learn more about Veritage, just in general, where would you send them to go do that for the people?

Speaker E [31:59 - 32:05]: Go to our Instagram at Veritage Beer or Variedage Beer dot com. Everything's up there.

Speaker A [32:05 - 32:06]: Amazing.

Speaker B [32:06 - 32:06]: I love it.

Speaker A [32:06 - 32:11]: Well, Mark, thank you for stopping in. We appreciate it. We're very excited for the new show.

Speaker E [32:11 - 32:11]: Me too.

Speaker A [32:11 - 32:19]: Cannot wait. We'll have talking more about that soon. But we're going to leave everybody with a little song here. We're going to play a little Battery Electric.

Speaker B [32:19 - 32:20]: Oh, I used to love it with them.

Speaker A [32:20 - 32:22]: Really? You know Ron Santi?

Speaker E [32:22 - 32:23]: Oh, I know Ron.

Speaker A [32:23 - 32:26]: Oh, Ron. He hosts a show on the station.

Speaker B [32:26 - 32:27]: Yeah, Sonic Games, Jersey night.

Speaker E [32:27 - 32:34]: Jersey musician. Next time you talk to Ron, ask him if he remembers playing with Franchise back down Asbury.

Speaker A [32:34 - 32:35]: Oh, yeah.

Speaker B [32:35 - 32:36]: Ron, you listening?

Speaker E [32:36 - 32:37]: Hey, Ron.

Speaker A [32:37 - 32:37]: Hey, Ron.

Speaker E [32:37 - 32:38]: Mark from Franchise.

Speaker A [32:38 - 32:44]: Yeah. Amazing. Well, this is the Battery Electric. It's called Dead Man's Trunk. I'm really into this song right now.

Speaker B [32:44 - 32:44]: Song's great.

Speaker A [32:44 - 32:56]: Yeah. Here you go. Right here on radio. Garden state roadshow. Radiogardesate.com Tune in, Odyssey, Alexa, radio.net, wherever you want, listen to us. But if you're here at the Turtleback Zoo's Brew at the Zoo, you're hearing it live. Here you go.

Speaker B [32:56 - 32:57]: That's right.

Speaker A [32:59 - 33:25]: The Mayo Performing Arts center is the heart of arts and Entertainment in Morristown, New Jersey. MPAC presents over 200 events annually and is home to an innovative children's arts education program. Swamp City Rockers with Double Dragon right there.

Speaker B [33:25 - 33:26]: That's a rocker.

Speaker A [33:26 - 33:34]: That is a rocker. We were just. Sorry. Yeah, I walked away for a little bit. I got a beer. I saw an alligator.

Speaker B [33:35 - 33:38]: Oh, man. See, I was. I was hoping I would pass the alligator. I. I don't.

Speaker A [33:38 - 33:40]: Well, up that way.

Speaker B [33:40 - 33:42]: Yeah. Yeah, I went the wrong way.

Speaker A [33:42 - 33:42]: Yeah.

Speaker B [33:42 - 33:46]: I just thought I'd just walk around to the bathroom and it would just be an alligator hanging out.

Speaker A [33:46 - 33:50]: But it could be. Is that thing that they were doing by the bathroom, like that thing in the cage?

Speaker B [33:50 - 33:51]: What was it I saw? I have no idea.

Speaker A [33:51 - 33:52]: I couldn't have like huge eyes.

Speaker B [33:52 - 33:58]: Yeah. I had no idea what that was. Was it a limu or an email? Maybe Lemur.

Speaker A [33:58 - 33:59]: An emu is like an ostrich.

Speaker B [33:59 - 34:05]: Yeah, lemur. By the way, there was some like brass band playing, man. They were cutting it up over there.

Speaker A [34:05 - 34:07]: Yeah. Tuba. The whole thing.

Speaker B [34:07 - 34:09]: Yeah, the whole thing. I walked by, I was like, damn.

Speaker A [34:10 - 34:10]: Yeah.

Speaker B [34:10 - 34:11]: These guys on radio Go.

Speaker A [34:12 - 34:13]: Yeah. They were getting after it.

Speaker B [34:13 - 34:16]: They were after it. I loved it. People were into it. We were dancing down there. I love it.

Speaker A [34:16 - 34:18]: Yeah, no, I just. I thought it was phenomenal.

Speaker B [34:18 - 34:20]: Listen, the vibe here today is just.

Speaker A [34:20 - 34:21]: Vibing off the chart.

Speaker B [34:21 - 34:23]: It's great. So happy to be here.

Speaker A [34:24 - 34:27]: Yeah. Well, we're two hours into this show. It's almost 8:00.

Speaker B [34:27 - 34:28]: Is that really.

Speaker A [34:28 - 34:29]: Got an hour more to go here.

Speaker B [34:29 - 34:32]: Boy, oh, boy. Time flies when you are having cruise.

Speaker A [34:32 - 34:36]: Cruising right along and doing some great stuff. Yeah.

Speaker B [34:36 - 34:37]: Radio Garden State.

Speaker A [34:38 - 34:40]: Bird's Mouth Beer.

Speaker B [34:40 - 34:42]: So, wait, where are you.

Speaker A [34:42 - 34:42]: Wait, wait.

Speaker B [34:42 - 34:49]: Come over here. Come over here. Yo, jump on the mic, bro. Come on. Yeah, you can't just, like, stalk us and not get on a mic. I mean, come on. You made the effort.

Speaker A [34:49 - 34:51]: You also showed up beerless. Yeah.

Speaker B [34:51 - 34:53]: You came over here, you trolled us like, come on.

Speaker A [34:53 - 34:55]: You showed up with no beer.

Speaker B [34:55 - 34:57]: Yeah, that's the other. That was the first fail.

Speaker A [34:57 - 34:58]: But when you're done.

Speaker B [34:58 - 35:02]: But then you can make up for it. Yeah, it's on. You're on, dude. You're live. You're on the air now.

Speaker A [35:02 - 35:02]: It's all right.

Speaker B [35:02 - 35:04]: Radio Garden State.

Speaker F [35:04 - 35:05]: Hell, yeah, boys.

Speaker A [35:05 - 35:06]: Yeah. What's your name?

Speaker F [35:06 - 35:07]: Yeah, Jim.

Speaker A [35:07 - 35:09]: Jim. What's up for Birdsmouth?

Speaker B [35:09 - 35:09]: Nice.

Speaker F [35:09 - 35:10]: What's going on, Chris?

Speaker B [35:10 - 35:11]: What's up, brother?

Speaker A [35:12 - 35:17]: Bird's Mouth Beer. I will say, I have had a lot of Bird's Mouth beer.

Speaker B [35:17 - 35:18]: Nice.

Speaker E [35:18 - 35:18]: Appreciate that.

Speaker A [35:18 - 35:21]: Like the lagers and all the stuff that you guys do. Off the charts.

Speaker E [35:21 - 35:22]: Thank you, man.

Speaker A [35:22 - 35:27]: Yeah, it's really great. And you guys are where down in Fort Monmouth is? Fort Mammoth.

Speaker F [35:27 - 35:28]: So technically Ocean port.

Speaker A [35:28 - 35:29]: Yeah.

Speaker F [35:29 - 35:30]: And right near the Monmouth Racetrack.

Speaker A [35:30 - 35:32]: And relatively new, too, right?

Speaker F [35:32 - 35:34]: Yeah, been there for about only two and a half years.

Speaker B [35:34 - 35:35]: Oh, wow.

Speaker F [35:35 - 35:38]: So. And finding our niche, man. Lagers is all we brew.

Speaker A [35:38 - 35:38]: Yeah.

Speaker F [35:38 - 35:40]: Simple, original, easy stuff, man.

Speaker A [35:40 - 35:42]: See, Chris, I like my beers to taste like beer.

Speaker B [35:42 - 35:43]: Me too.

Speaker A [35:43 - 35:54]: So that's really why I kind of fell in love with some of the stuff that I would see, like different restaurants in Asbury park or wherever. You know, even the Dublin pub in Morristown, they just have their Mexican lager and cans over there. Yes.

Speaker B [35:54 - 35:54]: Yeah.

Speaker A [35:54 - 35:59]: Really great. So can we talk? All lagers? Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello. Brew at the Zoo.

Speaker B [36:00 - 36:00]: At the zoo.

Speaker A [36:00 - 36:05]: 2025 Brew at the Zoo. So what do you guys got here today for Brew at the Zoo?

Speaker F [36:05 - 36:15]: So we're pouring our OG Original Lager and our Mexican Dark Lager. Summer seasonal. Trying to break the. A lot of people think dark beer. They think heavy stout.

Speaker B [36:15 - 36:16]: Right.

Speaker F [36:16 - 36:20]: You can have a lot of dark beers that are super sessionable and crisp. Mexican Dark Lager is a good, good.

Speaker A [36:20 - 36:26]: Example of that, is Your Mexican dark lager different than regular Mex? Yeah. Yeah. Okay, so it's.

Speaker F [36:26 - 36:29]: It's got a different recipe. It's just. It's more amber hued.

Speaker A [36:29 - 36:29]: Sure.

Speaker F [36:30 - 36:33]: Still super crushable. Just a little bit more sweet than.

Speaker A [36:33 - 36:42]: Yeah. So for people that are listening with. They're here. They haven't found your little nook and cranny around here at the Turtle Black Zoo. Where are you here today?

Speaker F [36:42 - 36:47]: So we're located in Africa, and right near there, the giraffes.

Speaker B [36:47 - 36:47]: Oh.

Speaker A [36:47 - 36:48]: So right.

Speaker F [36:48 - 36:50]: Right down there next to pickle me. Have you tried their pickles?

Speaker A [36:51 - 36:55]: We talked to the pickle guy before. We gotta go grab them after this. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker F [36:55 - 36:56]: They're horseradish chips.

Speaker A [36:56 - 36:57]: Yes, dude.

Speaker B [36:57 - 36:57]: There you go.

Speaker A [36:57 - 37:00]: Amazing. Did you see the proposal that took place down there?

Speaker B [37:00 - 37:00]: Yeah.

Speaker F [37:01 - 37:03]: And we gotta plug. We gotta.

Speaker A [37:03 - 37:03]: Okay.

Speaker F [37:03 - 37:05]: What do they call it? Cheap plug.

Speaker A [37:05 - 37:06]: The cheap pop.

Speaker B [37:06 - 37:07]: Oh, yeah.

Speaker F [37:07 - 37:11]: So we're gonna be at McLoon's Boathouse after this. Oh, for the after party.

Speaker B [37:11 - 37:12]: Yeah.

Speaker F [37:12 - 37:21]: 9 to 11, our Robinson's Ale, or McLunes Vienna Lager, is going to be on tap. And $1 for every pint sold goes back to the zoo.

Speaker A [37:22 - 37:23]: We love that.

Speaker B [37:23 - 37:23]: Fantastic.

Speaker A [37:23 - 37:34]: So can we talk also about. I haven't been down to the brewery. I mean, I've had. Like I said, I've had this stuff out in the wild. But we talk about, like the brewery experience at Birdsmouth. Yeah.

Speaker F [37:34 - 37:37]: So it's pretty. It's very welcoming, super chill.

Speaker A [37:37 - 37:37]: Yeah.

Speaker F [37:37 - 38:04]: We're very wholesale focused, so we don't do a ton of events. We don't bring in a ton of food trucks. Trucks. We prefer people to drink our beer at their favorite restaurant. You know, since COVID some of these restaurants are really struggling, so we'd rather. We want to drive business. Get some butts in those seats and let the. Let the servers get some more tips. Just drive. That experience of going out with friends to get a beer instead of sitting at home, which is fine, but you know, that whole experience, we kind of miss that.

Speaker B [38:04 - 38:06]: Yeah, it's respectable, man. I like that.

Speaker F [38:06 - 38:07]: Thanks, brother.

Speaker A [38:07 - 38:07]: Yeah.

Speaker F [38:08 - 38:13]: But the brewery itself is super cool, you know? Do you guys know what lucre side pours or side pole handles are?

Speaker B [38:13 - 38:14]: I don't.

Speaker A [38:14 - 38:15]: I don't know what that is.

Speaker F [38:15 - 38:16]: So imagine like a normal tap handle.

Speaker A [38:16 - 38:17]: Right.

Speaker B [38:17 - 38:17]: Okay.

Speaker F [38:17 - 38:31]: Ours is Czech Republic influence, so it's kind of like a gooseneck, and it makes smaller bubbles, so it increases your foam and enhances the aroma and flavor that comes off the foam. If you were to go get a beer in The Czech Republic. They'd pour it from there.

Speaker A [38:31 - 38:32]: Yeah.

Speaker F [38:32 - 38:34]: All of our taps are lucre side faucets.

Speaker A [38:34 - 38:35]: Cool.

Speaker B [38:35 - 38:35]: That's excellent.

Speaker F [38:35 - 38:42]: So that you should only see loggers on them IPAs. They don't. They don't belong on those. But it's to increase the experience of it.

Speaker B [38:42 - 38:43]: Yeah, Love that.

Speaker F [38:43 - 38:45]: But, yeah, the tap room's chill, man.

Speaker A [38:45 - 38:45]: That's.

Speaker E [38:45 - 38:45]: Stopping by.

Speaker F [38:45 - 38:57]: We're open Thursday through Sunday, 4 to 9, Thursday and Friday and 12 to 9 and 12 to 7. Saturday, Sunday. But yeah, man, we're here to make. Make beer simple again.

Speaker B [38:57 - 38:57]: Yeah.

Speaker A [38:57 - 39:02]: I mean, is this your first time here at Brew at the Zoo? It is, yeah. And what's the experience been like so far?

Speaker F [39:02 - 39:03]: Fantastic.

Speaker A [39:03 - 39:06]: This is our first time, too. This is like the best event we've done.

Speaker B [39:06 - 39:07]: Yeah, I agree.

Speaker A [39:08 - 39:13]: You know, with partners of ours that are like. We've done events with. That are great.

Speaker B [39:13 - 39:13]: Yeah.

Speaker A [39:13 - 39:18]: But, you know, we pulled up, they took all the stuff out of the car, they brought it over here for us. That was phenomenal.

Speaker B [39:18 - 39:19]: Super hospital. And yeah, the crowd.

Speaker A [39:19 - 39:20]: The crowd is amazing.

Speaker B [39:20 - 39:21]: Great.

Speaker A [39:21 - 39:22]: Yeah. The animals are cool.

Speaker B [39:22 - 39:24]: You can't beat this. Great.

Speaker A [39:24 - 39:28]: Jim, what's your. What's your favorite animal? It doesn't have to be a zoo animal, but what's your favorite animal?

Speaker F [39:28 - 39:33]: Oh, I do like pandas. My mom always liked it.

Speaker B [39:33 - 39:33]: Okay.

Speaker F [39:33 - 39:36]: And she always had a bunch of fun artwork with pandas.

Speaker A [39:36 - 39:36]: Cool.

Speaker F [39:36 - 39:38]: I just. Yeah, I like bald eagles, too.

Speaker A [39:39 - 39:40]: America, baby.

Speaker F [39:41 - 39:42]: So.

Speaker B [39:42 - 39:42]: Yeah.

Speaker F [39:42 - 39:46]: I know I can't say this too loud, but I am an Eagles fan, so. Yeah.

Speaker B [39:46 - 39:48]: I mean, you're from South Jersey, so.

Speaker F [39:48 - 39:48]: Yeah.

Speaker A [39:48 - 39:50]: Yeah. That is trash.

Speaker B [39:50 - 39:54]: But, hey, you guys at least got two Super Bowls now.

Speaker F [39:54 - 39:55]: Yeah.

Speaker A [39:55 - 40:02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, Jim, thanks for coming through for people, so remind them again, where are you so Fort.

Speaker F [40:02 - 40:08]: Oh, here. We're in Africa, right near the giraffes, next to Pickle Me, right in the back corner. But it's popping back there.

Speaker A [40:08 - 40:16]: And then in Fort Monmouth is where the brewery itself is. And then if people want to learn more Social's website, where would you want to send them?

Speaker F [40:17 - 40:24]: Definitely hit up our Instagram. Birdsmouth Beer. Our website is super simple. Everything you see from us is going to be the simplest thing.

Speaker B [40:24 - 40:24]: Right.

Speaker F [40:24 - 40:41]: So we're not trying to make anything more complicated than it should be. This is beer. At the end of the day, it's not, you know, you don't need an untapped account. You don't need a cicerone degree to enjoy our beer. So we're here for you. But, yeah, definitely check out Our Instagram. Check out our beer at your local bar restaurant. If it's not on tap, ask for us. We'll be there.

Speaker A [40:41 - 40:41]: Amazing.

Speaker B [40:41 - 40:42]: I love it.

Speaker A [40:42 - 40:46]: That was Jim from Bird's Mouth Beer. Go check them out down by the giraffes. I'm actually gonna walk down there in a second.

Speaker B [40:46 - 40:48]: Oh yeah. Get some pickles, bro. Oh yeah.

Speaker A [40:48 - 40:49]: I'll bring you back some pickles. Yeah, for sure.

Speaker B [40:49 - 40:49]: Pickles.

Speaker A [40:50 - 40:52]: Awesome. Amazing. So this is going to be Reese Van Riper.

Speaker B [40:52 - 40:53]: Yes.

Speaker A [40:53 - 40:54]: We haven't really played a lot of Reese, so.

Speaker B [40:54 - 40:57]: Oh my God. Reese all over this channel too.

Speaker A [40:57 - 40:59]: I'm on fire. He's on fire.

Speaker B [40:59 - 40:59]: He's on fire.

Speaker A [40:59 - 41:12]: Yeah, he does. Jersey Devils broadcast Tuesday nights at right. 9, 9 8, 9pm 9, 9pm to 10. And then Thursday nights, Dead Air Theater, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows on station.

Speaker B [41:12 - 41:13]: Mortimer Graves.

Speaker A [41:13 - 41:16]: Mortimer Graves for fans of horror and.

Speaker B [41:16 - 41:19]: Sci fi stuff, old timey radio.

Speaker A [41:19 - 41:36]: Yep. 11pm on Thursdays and then Reese Van Riper' Hot American Summer every Friday night at 10:10 right after movie tunes. Well, this is Reese Van Riper. The band called I'm on Fire right here. Radio Garden State Roadshow Brew at the zoo, 2025 Saturday, whatever date it is. June 28.

Speaker B [41:36 - 41:37]: June 28.

Speaker A [41:41 - 41:44]: Randy Hayes right there. Newark's own Randy Hayes.

Speaker B [41:44 - 41:46]: That is some fire riffs right there.

Speaker A [41:46 - 42:14]: Fire, absolutely. Bringing us into the last hour of our radio show, Eeyore. Yeah, by the way, we're, I'm currently fostering Eeyore, a five month old Aussie shepherd mix puppy. He is dope. He is a great dog. He's a good boy. He's smart, very cuddly. He's getting better at walks, better at all the other stuff that people want to know about. But yes, we just don't have room in our lives for a second full time dog. But we got room in our lives for like a, you know, a few weeks until we find him a good home.

Speaker B [42:14 - 42:15]: Well, you're foster.

Speaker A [42:15 - 42:18]: Absolutely. Thank you for thanking me. So I appreciate it.

Speaker B [42:18 - 42:22]: If you're interested in finding a family for Eeyore.

Speaker A [42:22 - 42:23]: For sure. For sure. Thank you.

Speaker B [42:23 - 42:41]: If you're interested in helping to find a family for your or you want to become Eeyore's new family, come by. Speaker A [42:41 - 42:49]: That'S right, mike@radiogardenstate.com I'll be happy to answer any questions about Eeyore. We've been calling him yo and Yogi, and Eeyore's just, like, a hard name.

Speaker B [42:49 - 42:53]: To say, I know, but Eeyore. Yeah, but it's cute.

Speaker A [42:55 - 43:02]: But last 45 minutes of our show here, it just, like, flew by. It's crazy. It's crazy what beer can do. The power of beer.

Speaker B [43:02 - 43:04]: The power of beer just makes time disappear.

Speaker A [43:05 - 43:10]: What's been your favorite? For lack of trying to, you know, pick favorites around here, but what's been yours?

Speaker B [43:10 - 43:24]: Favorite? Well, I am just partial to the cider. So you're a cider guy? I'm a cider guy. And yeah, I love that Ironbound. They're original. Just. They got a nice dry cider. That's the way I like it. Not super sweet. Still tastes like apples. They got it down.

Speaker A [43:24 - 43:28]: Yeah. Speaking of Ironbound, we are actually. You don't even know this yet.

Speaker B [43:28 - 43:28]: No.

Speaker A [43:28 - 43:51]: We are working on launching a happy hour show from the new Lackawanna Station in Montclair. They renovated the whole thing. Ironbound has a, like, totally sustainable farm farmer's market inside Lackawanna Station. So it's been essentially like, you know, like, the cheese, the beef wax, the cider, the whatever.

Speaker B [43:51 - 43:52]: That's awesome.

Speaker A [43:52 - 44:04]: And basically, you know, Charles from Ironbound Cider is kind of coordinating all that stuff. They did a really good job. But we are working on very early talks. I just had my first meeting with them earlier this week, but about doing. It's gonna happen.

Speaker B [44:04 - 44:06]: Listen, I'm finding this out in real time.

Speaker A [44:06 - 44:07]: Real time.

Speaker B [44:07 - 44:10]: Finding out on air about some.

Speaker A [44:10 - 44:11]: A new show.

Speaker B [44:11 - 44:11]: Some new shows.

Speaker A [44:11 - 44:15]: Yeah. But we'll be doing that at Lackawanna Station coming up probably in a couple weeks.

Speaker B [44:15 - 44:17]: There you go. Look at that. Breaking news.

Speaker A [44:17 - 44:27]: Breaking news. Exactly. Yeah. So that's cool. But Iron Bound made me think of that because I. I talked to Charles, the owner, for a while, the night that they did their media night.

Speaker B [44:27 - 44:27]: Right.

Speaker A [44:27 - 44:31]: And he's a really interesting guy. Definitely. Check it out. But yeah.

Speaker B [44:31 - 44:31]: Yeah.

Speaker A [44:31 - 44:32]: You like their cider?

Speaker B [44:32 - 44:33]: It's my favorite.

Speaker A [44:33 - 44:35]: Yeah. You're not a big beer guy.

Speaker B [44:35 - 44:37]: I'm not. I'm not. Say no.

Speaker A [44:37 - 44:41]: But the one thing, we go to the Prudential center, and you're a Rangers fan, and we do, like devils. That's right.

Speaker B [44:41 - 44:44]: That's right. Rangers fan for life, I believe. Blue.

Speaker A [44:44 - 44:44]: Yeah. Bleed blue.

Speaker B [44:45 - 44:45]: Blue.

Speaker A [44:45 - 44:46]: I mean, I don't. But.

Speaker B [44:46 - 44:50]: You don't, But I. Someone has to be a Rangers fan on this Radio station.

Speaker A [44:50 - 44:51]: No, you don't.

Speaker B [44:51 - 44:51]: Yeah.

Speaker A [44:51 - 44:56]: Anyway, here's Chris Batten in the woods with a new song. Like. Well, not a new song. Came out last summer.

Speaker B [44:56 - 44:58]: Yeah. I mean, it's great.

Speaker A [44:58 - 44:59]: Less than a year old.

Speaker B [44:59 - 44:59]: It's a summer song.

Speaker A [44:59 - 45:00]: It's a summer song.

Speaker B [45:00 - 45:00]: Yeah.

Speaker A [45:00 - 45:07]: It's called hey Little Lovely. It's the Brew at the Zoo. 2025 radio. Garden State Roadshow in the house. Chris Vaglio, Mike Ham.

Speaker B [45:07 - 45:07]: Yeah.

Speaker A [45:07 - 45:16]: Radiogardensate.com. check it out. The effortlessly cool, wiser time.

Speaker B [45:16 - 45:17]: So good.

Speaker A [45:17 - 45:20]: With love and devotion right there. A great. A great song.

Speaker B [45:20 - 45:21]: Great song.

Speaker A [45:22 - 45:24]: We had battery electric in there. Chris Batten in the woods.

Speaker B [45:25 - 45:26]: Hey, Little Lovely.

Speaker A [45:26 - 45:27]: I mean, crushing it.

Speaker B [45:27 - 45:27]: Perfect summertime.

Speaker A [45:28 - 45:33]: So we're coming up. Well, we're in the last 30 minutes of this show. Yeah, we just did a two and a half hour show so far.

Speaker B [45:33 - 45:33]: Unreal.

Speaker A [45:33 - 45:42]: Three hours coming up at nine o' clock. But just like that, we're fucking pros. Anyway, we're here with Emily from the Frisch team. Emily, welcome to the show.

Speaker C [45:42 - 45:43]: Thank you. Thank you.

Speaker A [45:43 - 45:55]: Absolutely. Can we talk a little bit about what the Frisch team is? And because obviously there's somebody. Everybody in this place has your brand in their hand. And it's not the Zoo logo literally.

Speaker B [45:55 - 45:56]: Staring right at it.

Speaker A [45:56 - 45:57]: It's something else. So let's talk about that.

Speaker C [45:57 - 46:09]: That is true. So we are a team of who are real estate agents with Weikert and Morristown. So we cover pretty much all of northern and central New Jersey, helping folks buy and sell their houses.

Speaker A [46:09 - 46:11]: Amazing. Morristown's a cool spot.

Speaker B [46:11 - 46:12]: Morristown's a great spot.

Speaker A [46:12 - 46:25]: Yeah, Yeah. I lived in Morristown. Well, I moved to Morristown February 2020. So it was like the perfect time for the world to end. But then once everything came back open, then we were good. What are some of your favorite spots in Morristown?

Speaker C [46:25 - 46:40]: Oh, man. So I'm a big, big foodie. Love to eat. A great spot at Morristown south and Pine. One of my favorites. Chef Freddy's table. Awesome. Going to have a drink. Love Sterling Tavern. Yeah, they got great cocktails.

Speaker B [46:40 - 46:41]: Sterling Tavern's very good.

Speaker C [46:41 - 46:45]: You really can't go wrong with any of the restaurants and bars in. In Morristown.

Speaker B [46:45 - 46:52]: Yeah, great spot. Great spot. I mean. I mean, and the bars, too. Like, we go to Hops a lot. Hops is a good.

Speaker A [46:52 - 46:55]: We're at Hops. Every other Dublin pub every other Wednesday.

Speaker B [46:55 - 46:56]: Yeah.

Speaker A [46:56 - 46:57]: For a networking group.

Speaker B [46:57 - 46:58]: Yep. Dublin pub's great.

Speaker A [46:58 - 46:59]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker B [46:59 - 47:01]: Horseshoe Tavern, Glenbrook Brewery.

Speaker A [47:01 - 47:04]: We had before, of course, the Legendary Heath Traver.

Speaker B [47:04 - 47:05]: That's right.

Speaker A [47:05 - 47:05]: Yeah.

Speaker B [47:05 - 47:06]: That was good.

Speaker A [47:07 - 47:26]: A great spot. So can we talk a little bit about Brew at the Zoo? Why did you decide that this is a good place for you guys to put up your marketing dollars? I guess, you know, for lack of a better way to say it, but the cups. The cups are branded with the Weiker Realtors, the Frisch team on them. Obviously, you. You have the table down the way.

Speaker B [47:26 - 47:26]: We.

Speaker A [47:26 - 47:29]: I already got some of my dog bandanas.

Speaker B [47:29 - 47:29]: I got two.

Speaker A [47:29 - 47:38]: I got one for my own dog. And we're currently fostering a dog, which is what we have here. Eeyore, meet Eeyore, in case you want. In case you want to look at him and see how cute he is.

Speaker B [47:38 - 47:41]: He's very cute. If you're looking to foster a dog or. No, no, no.

Speaker A [47:41 - 47:47]: We're not looking for fosters. We're looking for adoption. We're the foster forever home. Anyway, can we talk about why Brew at the zoo?

Speaker C [47:47 - 48:13]: Yeah. So my family had really deep ties with the zoo. My late uncle was the president of the zoological Society for many years. He was a longtime docent and the executive director here. Adam is a good friend of mine. So between, you know, spending a lot of time here as a child as well as being able to enjoy it as an adult, I used to. Actually, today is my birthday.

Speaker A [48:13 - 48:14]: Happy birthday.

Speaker B [48:14 - 48:15]: Happy birthday.

Speaker C [48:16 - 48:20]: For a long time, I used to come and celebrate my birthday here every year at Brew at the Zoo.

Speaker A [48:20 - 48:20]: Cool.

Speaker C [48:21 - 48:30]: And so when I started my own business, I thought, what better way to continue to spend my birthday than to work at the zoo?

Speaker B [48:30 - 48:32]: Yeah. No, I love that. That's great.

Speaker A [48:32 - 48:40]: Yeah. So, okay, we've asked a couple people this. I asked Chris. I asked the guy from Birdsmouth, what's your favorite animal if you're a big zoo person?

Speaker B [48:40 - 48:40]: Oh.

Speaker C [48:42 - 48:47]: So recently, when I asked my daughter what she wanted to be when she grows up, she told me she wanted to be an elephant.

Speaker A [48:47 - 48:49]: Elephant. Oh, that's a great answer.

Speaker C [48:49 - 48:50]: So I guess I'm gonna have to.

Speaker A [48:50 - 48:53]: Go smart, smart, good memory, all those things.

Speaker C [48:53 - 48:57]: Absolutely. And, you know, she's three, so that could change. But, you know, we're gonna start with elephant.

Speaker B [48:57 - 49:00]: Yeah. I mean, it's a good starting point.

Speaker A [49:00 - 49:01]: It's a good building block, for sure.

Speaker C [49:02 - 49:05]: So I think she'd be very disappointed if I said anything other than elephant.

Speaker A [49:05 - 49:05]: Okay.

Speaker B [49:05 - 49:07]: Okay, cool. I like elephant, though.

Speaker A [49:07 - 49:13]: And then when you, like, when they were putting the tables, like, where you were gonna be, did you decide you wanted to be by the giraffes down There.

Speaker C [49:14 - 49:16]: Yeah. So I might have asked.

Speaker A [49:16 - 49:17]: Sure. Yeah.

Speaker B [49:17 - 49:18]: Yeah. That's a good day.

Speaker C [49:18 - 49:23]: I said, hey, can I be near the giraffes? Because they are absolutely beautiful.

Speaker A [49:23 - 49:24]: Yeah, buddy.

Speaker B [49:24 - 49:25]: We're on the air, buddy.

Speaker A [49:25 - 49:26]: Yeah.

Speaker B [49:26 - 49:27]: Broadcasting live right now.

Speaker D [49:27 - 49:28]: Oh, my God.

Speaker A [49:28 - 49:30]: We're having such a good time here, man. Yeah.

Speaker B [49:30 - 49:31]: Glad to hear that.

Speaker A [49:31 - 49:31]: Amazing.

Speaker B [49:33 - 49:34]: 20, 25.

Speaker A [49:35 - 49:40]: You know, better place to be right now. That's right. Yeah.

Speaker B [49:40 - 49:42]: Give me West Orange, New Jersey, baby.

Speaker A [49:42 - 49:48]: That's right. West Orange, New Jersey. Did you know that Emily's company is the sponsored all the cups that you're drinking out of that cup?

Speaker B [49:48 - 49:49]: That's Emily's company.

Speaker C [49:49 - 49:50]: There's my name right there.

Speaker B [49:50 - 49:52]: That's her company. This is that. That's her.

Speaker C [49:52 - 49:53]: There you go.

Speaker A [49:53 - 49:55]: Props to, like, a Wilkie.

Speaker B [49:55 - 50:01]: There you go. Yeah, There you go. Love it. Yeah. There you go. Take some stickers. I didn't pronounce that right. It's all right.

Speaker A [50:01 - 50:01]: It's all right.

Speaker C [50:02 - 50:02]: You had a good time.

Speaker B [50:03 - 50:04]: It's a brew at the zoo.

Speaker A [50:04 - 50:04]: Yeah.

Speaker B [50:04 - 50:04]: Yeah.

Speaker A [50:04 - 50:07]: It's coming to an end. What was your favorite? What was your favorite beer?

Speaker B [50:08 - 50:11]: Oh, my God. Oh, Veritage. Veritage.

Speaker A [50:11 - 50:13]: Oh, Bloomfield, baby.

Speaker B [50:13 - 50:15]: Departed souls. Jersey City.

Speaker A [50:15 - 50:17]: Jersey City. Yeah. Good, good.

Speaker B [50:18 - 50:18]: Brick City.

Speaker A [50:18 - 50:20]: Brick City. Yeah, we had. That was before.

Speaker B [50:20 - 50:24]: Yeah. Nice.

Speaker A [50:24 - 50:26]: Amazing. Unbelievable. Did you hit all of them?

Speaker B [50:27 - 50:30]: Of course, of course, of course, of course.

Speaker A [50:30 - 50:30]: Amazing.

Speaker B [50:30 - 50:31]: You gotta do.

Speaker C [50:32 - 50:33]: He enjoyed himself.

Speaker B [50:33 - 50:34]: Hey, he had a good time.

Speaker A [50:34 - 50:35]: I like the shirt. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker B [50:36 - 50:36]: Love it.

Speaker A [50:38 - 50:44]: I wish I had a camera. I could tell these shirts. You could.

Speaker B [50:44 - 50:44]: You could.

Speaker A [50:44 - 50:45]: Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker B [50:45 - 50:45]: You could.

Speaker A [50:45 - 50:46]: Amazing.

Speaker B [50:46 - 50:46]: Yeah.

Speaker A [50:46 - 50:47]: I love it.

Speaker B [50:47 - 50:47]: Cheers.

Speaker A [50:47 - 50:47]: Cheers.

Speaker B [50:47 - 50:48]: Cheers.

Speaker A [50:48 - 50:48]: Cheers.

Speaker B [50:48 - 50:49]: Safe travels.

Speaker A [50:51 - 50:54]: So I forgot what I was going to say.

Speaker B [50:54 - 50:57]: I don't know. We were talking about the. Oh, yeah, you lost.

Speaker A [50:57 - 50:58]: You lost my train of thought.

Speaker B [50:58 - 50:59]: We were talking about the giraffes.

Speaker A [50:59 - 51:00]: Oh, yeah.

Speaker B [51:00 - 51:01]: Thank you. Giraffes.

Speaker C [51:01 - 51:11]: So the giraffes are awesome, right? And I was actually here, like, two weeks ago with my daughter. And you could feed the giraffes and you have lettuce to feed the giraffes.

Speaker B [51:11 - 51:12]: Yeah.

Speaker A [51:12 - 51:12]: That's pretty cool.

Speaker C [51:12 - 51:15]: They're amazing. Unfortunately, I think they've gone in for the night.

Speaker B [51:15 - 51:15]: Yes.

Speaker C [51:15 - 51:22]: But I mean, if I had my choice, if I'm gonna hang out at the zoo for three hours, I want to be near the giraffes.

Speaker B [51:22 - 51:32]: Yeah, of course. Yeah. I mean, it's like we are still setting up. And then my mike was going down there. He goes, chris, come here. And I just walked down there. I'm like, oh, there's the giraffes.

Speaker A [51:33 - 51:34]: Yeah, we saw a hyena.

Speaker B [51:34 - 51:35]: Yeah, hyena came out.

Speaker A [51:35 - 51:58]: We also went over when. When Mark from Veritage, we just mentioned Veritage, he was like, oh, I went over to his thing, which is by the alligators, like a new alligator. Which is cool. Which is cool. They're like, dude, they just like sit there and they go like. They're just like sitting there on the ground. Like it's cool looking and I get, you know, the whole thing. But like, the giraffes are walking around. They had the emus or ostriches or whatever the hell those things were in there. Ostriches. We saw a gray horned something.

Speaker B [51:58 - 52:00]: Something like a vulture, but it wasn't.

Speaker A [52:01 - 52:02]: Yeah, this is a great place.

Speaker B [52:02 - 52:02]: This is great.

Speaker C [52:02 - 52:11]: So did you see. And I believe Adam might give me a hard time, but I believe it's the cheetah exhibit that has a dog in the cheetah exhibit. They're like best friends.

Speaker A [52:11 - 52:12]: Like a regular dog.

Speaker C [52:12 - 52:19]: Yeah, it's like a yellow lab with the. I think it's a cheetah. Might be a different kind of hat. We'll have to get someone to verify.

Speaker A [52:19 - 52:20]: Sure.

Speaker C [52:20 - 52:21]: It's very, very cool.

Speaker B [52:21 - 52:22]: And they're friends.

Speaker C [52:22 - 52:23]: Yeah. And they're like best friends.

Speaker B [52:23 - 52:24]: That's awesome.

Speaker C [52:24 - 52:24]: They hang out together.

Speaker B [52:24 - 52:26]: Oh, my gosh. That's so cool.

Speaker A [52:26 - 52:28]: That's cool. Cool. I didn't know that was a thing.

Speaker B [52:28 - 52:29]: Neither did I.

Speaker A [52:29 - 52:38]: So if people are like, they don't know, like, they want to start working with the Frisch team, How would they go about doing that?

Speaker C [52:38 - 52:46]: Oh, so we have a website, frischteam.com youm can also find us on Instagram. Our Instagram handle is Puppies and Properties.

Speaker B [52:48 - 52:48]: Look at you.

Speaker A [52:48 - 52:49]: After my own heart.

Speaker B [52:49 - 52:50]: Smart.

Speaker C [52:50 - 52:52]: You know, Exceptional dog agent.

Speaker B [52:52 - 52:52]: Our.

Speaker C [52:52 - 53:03]: Our exceptional agents. Dog lovers, Community Builders is our tagline. So through and through. Hence the dog bandanas we had out there today. And we're gonna try to find a nice home for your buddy, yours.

Speaker A [53:03 - 53:27]: So that would be great. So last night I told Chris this story like a million times already. We had some friends over. I had my own little brew at the zoo, but with like the four of us at our house. And they wanted to come over and meet Eeyore. And by the end of the night, after several drinks. Drinks. I was like, let's just keep them. And my fiance was like, no, no. Maybe. I don't know. But, you know, we really just wanted.

Speaker C [53:27 - 53:29]: It sounds like Eeyore already has a one.

Speaker A [53:29 - 53:34]: I see. But like, I'm weak. I'm weak. Like I look at his ears. They're crazy.

Speaker B [53:34 - 53:36]: His ears looks like a fruit bat.

Speaker A [53:36 - 53:40]: But he's gonna get three times the size and he's.

Speaker C [53:40 - 53:41]: And you're still gonna love them.

Speaker A [53:41 - 53:47]: Oh, a hundred percent. Yeah. So he gets along well with my dog already. So I'm talking myself.

Speaker B [53:47 - 53:49]: I was just gonna say this is.

Speaker A [53:49 - 54:04]: Literally what I was doing last night. He gets along so well with. Our dog's name is Duck. She's a one and a half year old border terrier mix and she's great. And he's like picking up all his cues from her. And we like went to the park today. We were playing fetch. We were doing all kinds of stuff and.

Speaker C [54:04 - 54:09]: But yeah, don't break his little heart if. Stop it. You gotta keep him.

Speaker A [54:09 - 54:09]: Stop it.

Speaker C [54:09 - 54:12]: Emily, I'm with your fiance on this one.

Speaker A [54:12 - 54:18]: Yeah, right. Oh, man. Well, Eeyore's. Yeah, he's looking for a good home. We really want him to find a good home, whether it's or somebody else.

Speaker B [54:18 - 54:19]: But he's a forever home.

Speaker A [54:19 - 54:25]: Amazing. So let's hit him with the links again. Where should they go to learn more about the Frisch team?

Speaker C [54:25 - 54:29]: So you can go to frischteam.com or hit us up on Instagram at Puppies and Properties.

Speaker A [54:30 - 54:39]: Amazing. Emily, thank you for joining us for a few minutes. We really appreciate it and thank you for being a great supporter of not just the zoo but the event and everything. We really. That's really cool.

Speaker B [54:39 - 54:40]: Yeah.

Speaker A [54:41 - 54:41]: Absolutely.

Speaker B [54:41 - 54:42]: Thank you.

Speaker A [54:42 - 54:44]: Let's play some Vaughns, Chris.

Speaker B [54:44 - 54:45]: Oh yeah. Let's get that going.

Speaker A [54:45 - 54:50]: Yeah, this one's called it stiff. Cuz I'm getting a little stiff sitting in this chair for the last couple hours.

Speaker B [54:51 - 54:52]: It's been a bit.

Speaker A [54:52 - 54:54]: Yeah, there you go. That's how you do a lead in.

Speaker B [54:54 - 54:54]: That is a good.

Speaker A [54:54 - 54:56]: There you go. The Vs, baby.

Speaker B [55:01 - 55:02]: All right. All right.

Speaker A [55:02 - 55:09]: That was back into the left from Texas is the reason we also had in there A M Radio with Best X. Yeah, Superstar.

Speaker B [55:09 - 55:09]: It's a good one.

Speaker A [55:09 - 55:17]: You blew it from Little Hag the Vons with Stiff. It's a good block ending it on a nice note, I would say. For lack of a better word. Right?

Speaker B [55:17 - 55:19]: Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker A [55:20 - 55:21]: Whoops.

Speaker B [55:21 - 55:21]: You let your.

Speaker A [55:21 - 55:23]: My bad. I wasn't paying attention.

Speaker B [55:24 - 55:25]: You're queuing up, man.

Speaker A [55:25 - 55:31]: Yeah, it's all queued up, ready to go. Well, we want to thank the Turtleback Zoo for having the radio Garden State Roadshow out here all day. Three hour show.

Speaker B [55:31 - 55:32]: Three hour show.

Speaker A [55:32 - 55:33]: Went by like that.

Speaker B [55:33 - 55:34]: There Again.

Speaker A [55:34 - 55:36]: It's crazy what beer can do. It makes things so much better.

Speaker B [55:36 - 55:39]: It's just way too quick, right?

Speaker A [55:40 - 55:44]: Yeah. How's that pretzel necklace? It seems it's much shorter than it was. Yeah.

Speaker B [55:46 - 55:47]: Yeah.

Speaker A [55:47 - 55:48]: Those onion rings too.
