SPEAKER_00:

Let me just start because what I'm gonna do is people gonna ask questions. A lot of people won't believe you know what you've been able to accomplish. So I want to start right there. We're gonna get right into it, man. So let me know a little bit about your first 30 days in your business and how much have you generated so far?

SPEAKER_01:

The first 30 days has been extremely interesting. I didn't expect it to take off the way it has, if I'm being honest. I told myself at the beginning of I started like November 14th. I remember saying I was like, my goal by the end of November is to get one client. Like that was the goal I had in my mind. And fast forward we're December 12th, so less than 30 days. I'm at right around 10,500 so far earned that's been charged, but altogether in bookings around like 11,500 now.

SPEAKER_00:

Okay, what's your background? Let me let me know a little bit about your guys.

SPEAKER_01:

That's not my will. I'm gonna advise so I run a or I run a book of business between South Florida and Texas. So I help people, help both people make basically manage their finances and get invested in the markets. But I've always had an entrepreneurial itch on the side. So I've done random things. Like I used to own some cars, rented cars on Turo. I did Amazon drop shipping, and those things kind of crash and burn because there's always those little things that people don't tell you about. But I was like, I want to do something where I control it fully and I'm not having to deal with paying somebody 10,000 bucks to run it for me and then having it run into the ground. I wanted to just get exposure doing something from start to finish and hiring the contractors and handling all that aspect. So I said talking to a buddy Alex, who we have mutually, who I think he's one of your I think he was your first million dollar student. And he mentioned the business, and I was like, You mean to tell me I can start a cleaning company and not have to do any cleanings and not have to like not have to do any of that myself? And he was like, Yeah. I was like, so you got to a million in revenue, but you didn't do any cleanings. He was like, Yes. And I was like, oh, so it's basically like a marketing and staffing company, basically. He was like, Yeah. So I was like, oh, okay, bet. I'll throw because I throw money in the market all the time. So I'm saying it's like I'll throw a couple grand here and just see what happens and I'll put the time in and see what I can do. And now I'm honestly happily, like really shocked, but really happy about it. How fast and I grown.

SPEAKER_00:

And what gave you the confidence, like, you know what, I'm gonna go in and try this thing.

SPEAKER_01:

That's a good question. Honestly, it was uh I just after talking to that friend and getting that getting an understanding of kind of how it's structured. In the past two things that I mentioned, it was always me paying 10 grand or paying five grand for somebody else to do everything for me. And this time I'm like, nah, I wanna like when you mentioned you guys had a course, I said, I don't mind paying a thousand bucks if it means I'm gonna make a bunch of money on the back end. Like, I'll pay for education. You guys have already gone through and done the headaches and the holes that I would have fell into, so I'm like, why would I not pay for the knowledge have access to it and leverage that to build this business however I want to build it? So I was like, yeah, I'll take the risk. There's people that are on this side of the spectrum where they plan, plan, plan and never do. And there's people on this side of the spectrum that do but never plan. I've always leaned here more than anything, and I'm trying to work towards back like back towards the middle a little bit, but I don't mind being on this side of the playing field. And even earlier on, like I mentioned it in the platform you guys have with the community that like I jumped to buy the LLC, I jumped to get the website, like without you guys at some point said watch all the videos first and then go back and buy. I didn't do that. Like, as soon as I as soon as I heard you say, Oh, theme shit. I think we might have to change that to the first part now. But yeah, no, so definitely no regrets. So, in this process so far, it's just been really good for me to learn as I go. I always say, Don't let the perfect get in the way of the good. It's something that I learned in Goldman. I literally was like, I'm gonna go and try it, and if I fail, like I'm gonna learn while doing it.

SPEAKER_00:

I'd rather lean on the side of the action and learn as I go. So let me ask you this as you're going through your first 30 days, you mentioned it, give me the number. So you said how much came in, but how many clients do you service throughout that time? And what have you been like? What has been like the most confusing or overwhelming part for you so far?

SPEAKER_01:

I don't think there's been any part that's been overwhelming, honestly. A lot of what I realize is just figuring it out. Like I have cleaners, if somebody can't, I've had people cancel all me. Cleaners go to a job and the job was so bad that they said I can't, I'm just not doing it, and had to scramble to get somebody else to do it. And when I'm on the phone with clients, like like I'll ask, hey, if this is what it is, whatever, if if I don't have somebody, like in the moment, I'm gonna figure it out. Like I'm not taking, I'm not gonna let business go. I can actually just share screen and show it more than anything. My share screen is fine. I'm at 100.

SPEAKER_00:

Listen, they gonna they gonna want to see numbers anyway. So you can show it.

SPEAKER_01:

No, we can do it. Like I said, I'm an open book, bro. Okay. Let's do this one. And the time frame is November 14th to December 14th. I'm at 10,305 and 50 cents.

SPEAKER_00:

What just happened with my but what do you think was one of the biggest things that actually slowed you down or some of the things that held you back from actually starting or wherever you are today? Biggest things that slow me down were before before you joined the program.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, before before I joined the program, just just fear. Fear of losing money in a sense, right? From my perspective, you can sit on the sideline and say and be scared to do things, but when I think about it, I can go and spend on dinners, like eating out in a month, I'll spend a thousand or two thousand dollars. Or you'll have random expenses that like you don't mind spending a thousand bucks on going to a concert or spending a thousand, fifteen hundred bucks to go to a trip to go do something, but I can't spend a thousand bucks on a course or a thousand bucks on something towards a business that I can that can actually sustain and provide revenue for that like years to come. So that was really the biggest thing, just getting over that hurdle of thinking, oh, I just need like 20, 30, 40,000 to do this. I talked to Alex, he was like, bro, you can start with a couple grand. And I said, Okay, I'm gonna allocate a budget in my mind. I'm not putting more than five thousand dollars into the business altogether, and whatever comes from it. So I spent the money on the course, I spent the money on creating the LLC, the website, whatever, all the software, platforms, and then the rest just went into marketing. And I'm just seeing it just become a machine in itself where it's just producing. I had one one customer that's still every single day to this day for the last eight bookings or so, they've been paying me like between four and five hundred bucks. Like just a random how many you've only been doing it for a month.

SPEAKER_00:

So how many buggers that you said eight bookings?

SPEAKER_01:

How many bugs have they done? I've had so he's with that person alone, he's done it's a wealthy guy down in South Florida, but he basically and I sorts off Thumbtack. I paid like 30 bucks for the lead. And they needed basically somebody to go in and clean the Airbnb every single day he was there. So every single day I have a team go there at random times. Like they'll give me a call and say I need a team there. And that team, I have a team in the keys in Florida that they'll drop whatever they're doing and go handle that cleaning because I paid them well. So I took the method that you guys recommended. I know you guys said somewhere in the course between 50 and 60 percent of the job sort of works out to be. I pay my cleaners really well. So 50 to 60% of a job, a lot of the times it might take them three hours to do a job, but if that job's paying 500, they're getting paid$300 for three hours. You know what I mean? There it is. So exactly exactly. And the thing is, I want my cleaners to feel one supported, heard, understood, and feel like they're getting the good end of the stick, right? Like at the end of the day, they're doing the work. Like I'm not actually doing the work. So I feel like the person that's doing the work deserves to get paid the most, if that makes sense. It makes sense for them to get paid where they get paid. Um I've had situations where like they've gone to do jobs where maybe you'll have a nightmare client. I've already had it happen where a nightmare client happens, they go, I see the pictures of the before and after, because I always have them send me before and after pictures, because I can also leverage it for marketing. I see it and I'm like, the place is clean, but the person is just trying to scam out of free clean. And even if my cleaners get if they decide not to pay me, I'm still gonna pay my cleaners, right? Because you went, I want to remain my biggest concern is making sure that my cleaners feel supported, heard, understood. Because if they're happy, they'll do good work, then the clients are happy, and then reviews go well, then the rest is not. And it's the same thing in like in any type of business for the most part. So I feel like I just apply a lot of the same things I think about from a high skill working with high networks and what I do from a career standpoint, just apply it to the business. Customer service matters, just being good, being like being making basically making no excuses and just figuring it out.

SPEAKER_00:

People are gonna watch it and say, you know what, Dimitri, he has some skill set that I don't have. Like, you don't you won't believe someone will watch this and take away what they want to take from it.

SPEAKER_01:

So I was like, I'm not even physically, I'm not even physically in Miami. I'm in Texas. That's yeah, I'm not even I'm not even in like Miami. So it's like you can start this business from anywhere. Like, I the whole purpose of me doing this, I said I don't want to end up in a situation, you guys, I think you guys said it, you don't want to create a job. I'm I don't want to create a job for myself. I'm like, I want to create a business that I can grow, scale, and maybe sell. So I'm like, okay, let me do a market that I grew up in Miami, so I know the area, but no, I'm not going to any of my friends and doing this. This is all it's solely from marketing. I've been putting money into Thumbtack, Yelp, and Google Local Service Ads, but ThumbTax has been killing it for me.

SPEAKER_00:

But somebody watching this and they're like, you know what? This probably won't work for me. And I'm telling you, we see it, we hear it all the time. What would you tell someone watching this video? Let's say a year from today, people seen Alex's testimonial, and he tells them the same thing, but now this is your story. What would you tell someone that believes that this can't work for them? Because I can tell them all the time, but it's different when you say it because you've gone through it and you've accomplished some great things so far.

SPEAKER_01:

Take the leap of faith, like trusting yourself and trusting if God is putting the calling on your heart to start a business or to do something outside of what you're already doing, and you feel like you're meant for more, take the leap of faith. Just try it, trust in him, right? The worst scenario is you come out of it on the other side and you one know how it, how like how it is to operate a business. You understand how it is to operate payroll and expenses, you like you'll learn something, like you're not taking a loss. Paying for knowledge is not taking a loss because you'll retain that information and be able to take that, replicate it, and use it for generations to come or years to come. So I just feel like honestly, just don't be scared money. That's the simplest saying, scare money, don't make no money. It's the truth. You can't expect to get to new heights without taking risks and taking leaps of faith.

SPEAKER_00:

And that's a and that's an excellent note, right there. So now that you know this works and you're working the system as you grow and scale, what do you focus on next when it comes to your business? It's only been 30 days, so literally sky's the limit for you. But what are you working on? What are you focusing on next?

SPEAKER_01:

Resetting my goals, because I came into this with, I guess I said my goals way too low. So resetting my goals is probably the main thing. Second thing, identifying and analyzing which marketing pieces are working the best and which aren't. Um then taking that money in whatever I'm putting elsewhere, putting it into like the one that's working the strongest, which is Thumbtack, and just heavily reinvesting. I'm not paying myself from the business at all yet. So all the revenue that after I pay expenses goes straight back into marketing. I want to get to a point where I'll be throwing between four and five thousand in marketing, hopefully before the end of next year. That's my goal. Okay.

SPEAKER_00:

Dimitri, appreciate it, man. Thank you for sharing your story with people because we know what's possible when you put the work in, and you've been one of those people who put the work in. You guys, it was so thorough and exact. Like I didn't have to guess what to do.

SPEAKER_01:

No, I'm grateful. I really appreciate it. You guys are awesome.
