In this episode, I interview Kate Russell about her book “Voicemails from my Sister; Stories of a Schizoaffective Sibling”
Kate Russell’s author biography:
Kate Russell, a Los Angeles based author, has written two novels: "Down the Rabbit Hole: A Memoir of Abuse, Addiction & Recovery" and "Voicemails from My Sister: Stories of a Schizoaffective Sibling." Her books chronicle what it was like growing up as the daughter of drug addicts, forced into the role of mother to her sibling, becoming a drug addict herself, then choosing to get sober over 10 years ago. She is in the process of writing her third memoir about her narcissistic father, and will write the fourth about her alcoholic mother, peeling back the layers of the onion to dissect each parent. She will market the four books as a series titled "Portrait of a Dysfunctional Family." Kate delves deep into the workings of the brain, the human thought process and ultimately recovering from trauma. Her books are filled with heartbreaking and hilarious stories of growing up in a dysfunctional household, and are meant for anyone who has trauma in their background and is looking to heal.
