In this episode I share my experience from the virtual conference, Think and Grow Rich, that took place the week of February 21st, 2022, Monday to Friday, 5-6 hours a night, it was truly a life changing event. This conference shifted my mindset on the importance of creating a community, building my personal credit to leverage business credit, to help with funding, as well as 4 recession proof businesses that will help create passive income for my family. While each speaker covered a different aspect of business, the underlying theme was the importance of sharing information. Education will help close the wealth gap, so listen closely as I break down my beliefs on how important it is to share information.

Hey everybody, it's your girl Sam here, and welcome to Wealth Talks, a podcast by a single mom for single moms. I am so excited about today's episode because in today's episode, I am going to be telling you, sharing my experience at the virtual conference that I attended last week. This virtual conference totally shifted my mind. It was something that I really needed to experience for many reasons. We went over credit, consumer loss, mindset, leveraging your personal credit to help you leverage business credit, structuring your business the correct way. And then we covered recession proof businesses that you can start. Now, as a single mom that lives in New York, it is a tight budget that I run sometimes. And I'm sure not just me being a single mom, but just a New Yorker or anyone that lives in a big city, you all go through those moments where it becomes expensive to live. And after paying your bills, taking care of your needs and your wants, um sometimes you don't have a lot of wiggle room to to venture out and to starting another business. And I know at the height of the pandemic, the talk was um one source of income is too close to having none. And a lot of people were on a path, on a journey to increasing their their um source of income. But when most people, include myself included, we hit a roadblock with funding. Now, businesses are a great uh a great part of ownership, you know. Having a business, you have many tax write-offs, it's just it puts you at a different level. However, starting a business is not cheap, um, sustaining the business is not cheap at all. So, what we learned in this this conference, um the most important part of you starting a business and making sure that you can scale it and grow it is to have proper funding. Now, credit is one of those vehicles you can use to properly fund your business. And most people look at credit as being, okay, this is credit, this is um something that you know you swipe it, you use it in emergencies, and then you pay it off when you can and you keep it moving. But having that mindset about when it comes to credit is so limited in your ability to actually use credit to build wealth, to pass down generational wealth to your kids, and to set yourself up for a life that can bring you many rewards, many opportunities and wealth. You know, in the beginning of the conference, we each we started each day um doing mindset because mindset is the number one um number one target that you want to hit whenever you're making any changes to your life. So we we covered mindset, we went over all of that, and then after mindset, we each day was was geared towards something learning to build up to having multiple um streams of income. And not just any multiple stream of income. I'm talking about recession-proof uh ventures that you can start either by yourself and then we can do some together, which I highly um am a big advocate for. And we covered that um in the in the um conference, the power of collective work together with getting this done. And um it's just I mean, this Lincoln Grow Rich conference was just a game changer for so many reasons. Not because they just was showing you, you know, here you can start an Airbnb or Toro or Trucking or a Storage Unit, but actually setting up the steps to help you get there. You see, a lot of people are um flashy things, you know. You see Instagram, you see someone post, oh, I made this amount of money with my trucking company or my Airbnb gross this. But the the beginning steps to get there is not oftentimes advertised. The end result is, and it is in the beginning steps that you need to have um the most, you need to have the most information and the most resources so that you can get to the the Instagram post, the stunning post, the these are my trucks, these are my Airbnbs. You need the beginning steps, and this is what that conference did. And not only did it do it, break it down each step for you, the people that were doing that were presenting actually lived out what they said they were doing, and that's the thing. You see people on Instagram and social media and they're posting all this stuff, you don't even know if they're really living that lifestyle, you know. And each speaker at this conference lived live is living the lifestyle. Um, they have expert knowledge, expertise in each field, and they were passionate and not just passionate about what they were doing, they were passionate about helping everybody. That, my friend, is a game changer. You see, knowledge, there it doesn't cost you anything to share knowledge. Not sharing knowledge is where you run into trouble. Because if it's just one person becomes a millionaire and no one else becomes a millionaire within that community, you don't you didn't really win. You know, you you need to have this this this mindset that I'm gonna make it, and so is the person sitting next to me. They're gonna make it too. Because when we both make it, we make changes, and that's what it's all about. It's about making changes. Making changes not just for my family, but my sister's family. And when I say sis family, I mean like a a a fellow friend that I met. I want her to win. I want my brother and another fellow brother, you know, guy that I met, I want him to win. In addition to my own family succeeding, I want everyone to succeed. That is the only way that we're gonna make real change. Um, it's the only way that we're gonna see significant change within our communities, and not just the community in our home, but the community outside of where we live, because that we all have to make it when when they do this average net worth for the black community is gonna be zero by 2050. Yeah, they are accounting for the million and billionaires within the black community and Latino community, but they're also looking at those who are whose net worth is about $17,000. So even though you may have a high net worth, if you have an abundance of people on the lowest spectrum, yes, that explains why our wealth is set to be 2050 by the, I mean zero by the year 2050. This is something that is very important to me, and I am totally open to sharing anyone, sharing with anyone on a one-to-one my personal experience with the Lincoln Grow Rich Conference. It was um the facilities of the group are very professional. It was very not, it was great knowledge that was shared and given out. And one thing that one of the facilitors said was, why get four doors when you can get 40? And that just blew my mind because it's like we are limiting ourselves to to the the bare this the bare the standards that every society has for us. When we are and we have exceeded, we come from greatness. And I know Black History Month is over, but for me, Black History Month is every single day. Um, and black present, being being black in the present moment is is is alive and real to me. We need to start looking at our community as our partners so that we can build, so that we're not just stuck getting four family units, we're getting 40 units, we're getting 40 doors at a time, we're buying the block back, we're pulling our resources together and we're just working out, working it out. So after we went over mindset and we discussed credit, we we showed they showed how to build up your personal credit so that you can be more attractive to lenders for business credit. Because as one of the speakers said, your personal credit is capped. But once you venture off into business credit, it changes the whole mind. And for people like myself and other people that may be listening, you know, we don't have much access to money to do other things outside of our normal day-to-day uh responsibilities. So being it, being learning how to use credit to get business credit to get to leverage funding is a game changer for you. It's giving you the opportunity to have multiple streams and not just any multiple stream, but to have recession-proof multiple streams. So the the the streams that they discovered, they they covered, which um everyone is familiar with, but I just want to break it down a little bit. It was Toro, it was Airbnb, and Airbnb not owning the property, but using renting our apartment and and making money off of it. That's that was a total game changer for me. We went over storage, we went over real estate, we went over trucking. I mean, it was just an amazing week altogether, and I wouldn't change it, trade it for the world. I spent five days with a uh a virtual room full of strangers that have now become my community that I can lean on and ask for more questions, ask more questions to get more resources and more help as it goes. So I I just wanted to say this that information is something that we all need. And it's at no point should we ever hoard it. There are we have to make significant changes in our lives, and the community is where we're gonna see the most progress. If we get together and and solidify our community, grab four or five friends who have the same mindset as you and start taking action. Start thinking about ways to improve your credit so that you can use it to leverage your leverage um credit business funding so that you can create the life that you were meant to have. Abundance is our birthright. You know, for far too long, for too many generations, we have been living um under the radar, you know, just making it, just getting it by. But the power of education is going to change that. So if anyone is interested in sitting down with me to get further into what I experience, uh how I feel, I'm more than happy to share with you. If anyone just needs help hashing out ideas, you know, I am a financial coach and life insurance agent, but I'm also a person that wants every single person to win. So, what I like or what you like, we share and we help build one another up. So, this is a girl Sam. Um, and I hope everyone has a great day, and I'll talk to you guys soon. Bye.
