Hey everyone, welcome to Wolve Talks, a podcast by a single mom for single moms. I am so excited that you decided to join in on my very first episode of Wolve Talks. I am so overwhelmed and delighted that you're listening. Today's episode is going to be real quick. It's just going to be an introduction of who I am, why I started this podcast, and my mission and vision with this podcast for my community and mine. So just a little backstory about me. My name is Shakira, aka Sam. I'm born and raised in the Bronx, mother of three children. I am a director of operations and human resource manager for my company. And I am also a life insurance agent. So when I'm not doing mommy or work duties, I am helping people get their uh life insurance policies completed. And um, it is actually from that experience that uh moved me toward um a podcast. Well, not necessarily a podcast because I didn't have any idea how to start a podcast. But I did know that I wanted to reach more people with my message, with my experiences, and with my knowledge and expertise on financial planning. And one day I was scrolling through Instagram and one of the um podcasters that I follow, uh David Shantz, he was speaking about how important it is for every business to have a podcast. So as a business owner, um, you know, we're very creative and savvy. I was like, maybe this is it. Maybe a podcast is the way, the platform that I can use to reach more people. And you know what? He's right, he's onto something. A podcast is a perfect way to reach more people, which is why when I saw the post, I said, let me start a podcast. So this podcast is is um is made to help people um within my community understand the importance of financial planning. You see, what I found when I worked with different families uh from different backgrounds was that um a lot of people lacked the the bridge with financial planning. Many people seem to think financial planning is only for the wealthy, you know, you have to be rich through financial planning, but actually it's not, it's for everyone. And I felt like making appointments with people was like people really didn't want to take appointments, so I was thinking, what is a way that I can reach more people? Which led, of course, to the podcast. So now anyone from anywhere can tap in, hear my experiences, hear my guests who are going to be experts in different fields, such as purchasing a home, doing investments, so that we can make financial the talk of finances, financial literacy more digestible, more common within our household. Let's face it, our goal is to change um the way our children look at wealth. And that starts with us. You know, the concept of building wealth is something that is not often discussed in some households, especially the household that I came in. It was get a job, uh, go to school, get a job, pay your bills, and keep it moving. The talks about building wealth, sustaining wealth, passing wealth down to the next generation were topics that we never really spoke about. And my goal with this podcast is to change that. I want more households to have these talks at dinner. I want more children to understand what it really, really means to have a credit score, what it means to buy a house, how what it how important it is for them to own their own business. So, thank you for tuning in to my very first episode. I look forward to having you on many more episodes, and I wish everyone have a great day.
