Well, I feel like this year has flown by so fast. It has had its great moments and some of its sad moments, but every moment that felt like a load this past year has been a lesson learned. But before we dive into goal setting and the science behind full body goal setting, I want to share some of the things that are happening in my business right now. They have some kind of guidance and some kind of inspiration that you get to interpret for yourself. Well, I took of that concept and I put a spin on there. I put a exercise on one of the cards in the DAC and it walks you through on how to tune into your intuition, how to calm your nervous system, get clarity so that when you choose a card it is the next best step for you to take in your business. So each card has a practical business step in there. You get to do each step in under 10, 15 minutes and it gets you moving forward. So on those days where you feel confused or uncertain or just maybe overwhelmed, like what do I do in my business? And instead of like just scrolling down social media or looking for inspiration outside of yourself, you get to tune in and choose a card that is best for your situation. It really does help you develop and strengthen your intuition muscle and it also gets you going. Like I said, there are practical business strategies that build on top of each other, so you exercise the compound effect. All right, so now let's dive into today's episode. So we're gonna be talking about the science behind a full body goal setting session. Usually, when we are setting goals, we are thinking about how am I gonna make this happen? What do I have to do? It is very logical thinking. It's very frontal, lobe reasoning, logic, all the things right. Here's the thing when we plan too much using our logic, we actually are saying that we are making decisions out of logic, but it's really our emotions driving that logic, but it's not driving that logic in the way that we want it to be driven or direct it, and then what ends up happening is that we can react with very intense emotions when something doesn't go our way and we're not necessarily proactive.

Speaker 1:

Now, when we bring in the emotion and the logic during goal setting, we activate the endowment effect. The endowment effect is allowing your body, like the natural chemistry of your body, to take ownership of that goal, so that anytime you come to a crossroads or something just, you know, unexpected, you get to feel in your body what you felt during that time when you made that goal and you mapped out the steps to it. I don't want to gloss over what I had mentioned about the endowment effect, so let me tell you what that is all about, in case you never heard of it. So the endowment effect describes a circumstance in which an individual places a higher value on an object or a goal that they already own than the value they would place on the same kind of object that they didn't know. For instance, you're in a shopping mall and they come over the intercom and they say if you have a Toyota I don't know a RAV4, right, and they say that if you have a great Toyota, it's being towed or something you might be like oh my gosh, is that my Toyota? It might sting a little, you might worry a little bit, but if they said if you have a Toyota with this license plate and you know your license plate and you know that's yours, then there's something else that happens in your body, right, there's a more of an alertness there.

Speaker 1:

Well, the opposite happens as well when it comes to your goals. When you feel that ownership, like almost as if you can taste that goal, you can feel it in your body then you take ownership and self-responsibility for taking actions to reach that goal. That is why we like to bring in emotion and we're not just again, solely focusing on the logic part of the goal setting, but we're activating the feelings through our senses so that we're feeling that goal now and we can easily tap back into that During CEO power planning. There are times where we will get into that intense feeling of having that goal and then we'll anchor it in on our knuckle. So that brings me to the second thing sensation. When you tap into your senses, this is gonna help your body remember what it feels, looks like, sounds like when you reach that goal. Now our subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between what is real, imagined or remembered. So you get to play with that energy when your goal setting, by activating all your senses and thinking hmm, when I am reaching this goal like the night before that, you know, cart closes, or the night before this big event, the night before this or the moments before this, I am smelling lavender. I am hearing the night, you know, the crickets chirp at night. I am seeing the smile on my spouse's face because he knows that we're, you know, just a hair away from this goal. Whatever that is, you get to sit in meditation, feeling those things, you know, feeling those feelings, hearing those things, imagining you're hearing those things, seeing the things, maybe even tasting those things, and really lock that in.

Speaker 1:

And then the next part is that logic right? Your conscious awareness is going to scan your reality for what could go wrong, to keep you safe. That is just like the way our brain works. The critical faculty is just going to filter some things out because it wants to keep us safe. So we got to do things to bypass that, so that we can reprogram our brains to act in a way that might be out of our comfort zone. So that's why we use the CO system tools to create a safe environment and direct your conscious awareness to pick up on what you do want to bring into your reality instead. So when we are mapping out these things, we're reverse engineering. We are strategically placing visuals as in numbers in our spreadsheet to help our logical mind feel safe by saying this happened in the past and these were the circumstances. So, basically, analyzing data, and this is what my mindset was or this is what was going on in my life. If I were able to tweak this then I should be able to get this result. So, again, you're working with that logic and the reasoning because you want all of all parts of you to be on board with your goals right.

Speaker 1:

And then, lastly, you want to be able to take physical action. Obviously, because when you take action, you commit to your plan, you train your subconscious mind that you mean business. It's you keeping a promise to yourself. If you keep breaking promises to yourself, then your subconscious mind is going to start believing that is your MO. So you taking action, even if it's 1% at a time that compounds over time, then you start to reprogram your beliefs, which reprograms your thoughts and your emotions, which influence your actions. In the past episodes I've talked about that so you can go back and check on. You know how I talk about the complete success formula.

Speaker 1:

You may be asking okay, vanessa, how can I balance emotion and logic? Because my logical mind just wants to overpower everything. Well, there's a couple of things going in play right now. So your amygdala, it is the center for emotions, your emotional behavior and your motivation. That is why I'm saying we got to activate the amygdala, we have to activate the emotion part right, so we can get that bayan, the full body bayan, and then the frontal lobe. This also has a very important part when it comes to goal setting, because it is important for voluntary movement, expressive language, managing higher level of executive functions. So your amygdala uses emotions to evaluate your goals, degree of importance, and then your frontal lobe defines steps and corresponding resources necessary to achieve this goal. When they work together to keep you focused and moving forward the goal, like towards the goal and engaging behaviors that lead to the achievement of that goal, that's how you're able to balance both of them. So when I said those four things the emotion, the sensations, the logic and then the action that is how you're balancing the amygdala and the frontal lobe to work together Now to keep that motivation going and again trick your subconscious mind.

Speaker 1:

You want to use anchoring. If you've never done any kind of anchoring, I believe on YouTube I have an anchoring video. It shows you how to be able to access that visual and then anchor things in on your knuckle and then you can also use visualization. So anchoring and visualization together strengthen your focus, both emotionally and logically, so that you achieve the goal. And I'm excited for this event that we have coming up. Honestly, I don't want to say the name of the event because I'm not quite sure, but I'm tossing around the manifestation lab, I'm tossing around the Profits and Passion Project, but essentially this is an event happening in Houston, texas, on January 11th. It's a full day event and we are doing vision boarding, or vision boards and goal mapping. But we're gonna do a different kind of spin on vision boards and what we're gonna do is we're gonna activate the different chemicals in our body through the visuals that we're creating so that, when it comes to taking action and staying on board with our goal, we're able to access these. We're able to release endorphins, serotonin and dopamine. So we're literally using your body's natural chemistry. And so, anyway, all of this, using the anchoring and the visualization, is going to help you be sustainable, cause you know, whenever we set a goal during the new year, like oh yeah, we're all gun-ho, it's a new year, new start, new me, all that BS right. And then come February we're like blah, blah, blah, like we just lose that fire, and that is because there is not that balance of the emotion and the logic and the full body buy-in.

Speaker 1:

Now there is a routine that I teach my students inside the profitable CO accelerator and you can actually get a glimpse or actually set up your own routine for this. I call it the balance work week framework. When you go and download the CO audit workbook that's one of the freebies I have in the show notes it will show you how to map out your own balance work week and what it is. So I'm gonna briefly go over what the balance work week is. The balance work week is going to consist of three types of days. Now, they're not just three days in that sit. That's your work week. You get to choose how many of these days you want. So, for instance, I have a CEO day and that is the day that I set the plan, I gather the resources. I organize my business and the strategy. I connect the dots, I choose the content, topics. It is all about reasoning, logic, planning, right, but usually the day before that I have my goddess day.

Speaker 1:

Now, sometimes people are like goddess day. They don't like the word goddess, but if you're hanging out with me, you've probably gotten used to me saying the word goddess. The goddess day is just a self care day. It is the day for you to stop thinking about your to-do list, stop running around for other people, and it's a day to honor yourself. So there is a lot of activities for nervous system regulation. So, whether that is meditation, coloring and I have a Mandela coloring book as part of the money activation bundle it's a bundle of meditations and workbooks and there is a Mandela coloring book in there you can do meditative coloring, meditative painting, anything that's gonna slow you down and honor your human. You can even do grounding right, but the idea of that goddess day or that self care day is again to slow down so you can speed up. There has been so many people that have told me wow, that goddess day gave me so much clarity.

Speaker 1:

One of my friends recently I invited her and her daughter to go with me on a mommy and holiday, because that's my goddess day, right, my day with my son. We usually go to the park, we do something together, and so that day she and I happened to take the kids to the Houston Zoo. It was a beautiful Sunday, you know. We just walked and we talked and um, sorry, all these notifications are popping up on my computer we walked and talked and then the next day she or that, I think, yeah, I think it was the next day she posted about how she just really needed that. That just really helped her rejuvenate and she was able to be more productive the next day and get into action because she allowed her her mind, body and soul and her heart to rest. So that is why those goddess days are important, usually to have before the CEO day, because then you gain so much clarity and you can activate your creativity.

Speaker 1:

Now the next, the third part of the balance work week, is the doer day, because I'm a generator and I love to work Like it just lights me up to take action in my business. I usually have about two days per week of doer days and that doer day just sounds like what it is. It is creating the content, having the sales conversations, doing the damn thing right. You're running appointments, you're, uh, setting up business tag, you are maybe setting up the funnel, you're writing the emails, all the things, and so that is a great balance to make sure that you're working in and on your business as well as not overloading your frontal lobe where you are causing um, chaos and confusion overwhelm. You're taking things bit by bit and you're taking action and you're activating that compound effect when you set boundaries around.

Speaker 1:

This time I think of it like this, like I would joke around with um, just friends. When we talk about my daughter Ali, you know being really busy with school and then softball whether it's um league or, you know, club softball or school softball we say we wanted to keep her busy because if we keep her busy, we keep her out of trouble, right? Well, if you keep yourself busy during these times for your business and then you shut it off and then you commit to the rest of your time being you you time or family time or social time, what ends up happening is that you stop saying yes to things that take you away from your goal, so you get too busy to take on new projects that are without or that are outside of your capacity, right? Um? So the I. This is not one of the days that I put into the balance workweek, but I do have on there to make sure that you carve out time for your family, for the like, just personal time. Before you go and start planning your Q one of 20, 24 or your whole year, I invite you to do part one of what I think is very important when it comes to strategic planning, and that is to design your dream lifestyle. So when you are at a stopping point, if you're driving, I want you to do this exercise. I want you to write out your dream life schedule on a piece of paper.

Speaker 1:

Day dream about how your perfect day will go. How will you spend your hour to hour If your business was financially supporting the lifestyle you dream of living? So on a Monday morning, would you take your time getting up? Would you have some meta meditation time, tea time? What would that look like, from the time you woke up to the time you went to bed? If every day is a little bit different, maybe your weekends are a lot more slower, rather than your weekdays. Maybe your weekdays you take kids to school. Then do it for the weekday and do it for the weekend. Will you end your day organizing and preparing for your business tomorrow? Ask yourself that too. Plan for that. Really. Visualize like if I had a business that supported what I wanted in life. How would I be spending my time? Because a lot of times, we allow our business to rule our life. We go into business because we want the time and financial freedom, but we end up allowing our business to suck the life out of us because we allow it to control us instead of us controlling our day in our business. So we get to design the life and then have the business fit into that life.

Speaker 1:

Now I want you to take this up a notch. Knowing what you know about the goddess day, the CEO day and the doer day, what would each of those days look like? So literally map out a schedule, write it out Monday through Friday Maybe you plan for Monday to be a CEO day and Tuesday to be your goddess day, and then Wednesday and Thursday to be your doer day. However you set it up is perfectly fine, but I want you to have a different schedule for that CEO day, for that goddess day and for the doer day. So maybe for the CEO day, you go for a hot girl walk and you spend power walk for 90 minutes and you're listening to a personal or professional development audio. And then, maybe on your goddess day, you're meditating, you're grounding before you start your day, and then, maybe for your doer day, you're doing something else that really activates you. Maybe you're doing a little bit of dancing, listening to some music. That's uplifting. Each day is gonna look a little bit different, but it's still gonna be around the lifestyle that you dream of having.

Once you have your dream lifestyle on paper, I want you to design your dream business Now. You may already have a business with offers in funnel setup or a storefront. We are simply using these journal prompts that I'm about to give you to optimize your business processes. So here it goes. Are you ready? How does, or will your business support this lifestyle that you envisioned? What do you want most in your business? Dream big on this. I don't want you to hold back. Don't filter yourself, nada. I want you to allow yourself to dream and want what you want. Be true to your desires. Don't fear that anyone's gonna judge them and you don't judge them yourself. You want what you want and that is okay, and it's not like you're gonna share this with anyone unless you wanted to.

The next question is how close are you to getting that dream that you want from your business? What can you do today to get closer to where you want to be? What can you commit to doing today to help you get there? What consistent action are you ready to take to strengthen your focus and your commitment? What are you willing to change or shift to make this happen? And then, lastly, how do you feel about getting paid as much as you desire for your work?

So I want you to take some uninterrupted time and answer those questions after you design your dream life, because this is where, again, we're bringing in the logical mind, when you still are in the energy of that dreaming and you know that fantasy within your body and in your mind. Now I do have a part two to this, however. You're going to either have to join me for the event in Houston on January 11th 2024, or you're going to have to join me inside the Prophets CEO accelerator so that you can get access to doing this with me in a group setting every single month. We do this every single month because repetition is the quickest way to change your habits to more empowering habits. So right now, if you feel chaotic or disorganized, if you just feel like I rarely feel motivated or I had these ups and downs of motivation, we literally change your neural pathways in the program and the Prophets CEO accelerator, through visualization, through repetitive routines, nervous system regulation. So we bring in that logic, emotion and the woos stuff.

Right, and because this is a higher ticket program, I love to work with people one to one. I do give you a lot of hands on time with me, but I also look at your human design chart. So if you are giving yourself excuses, I will call you out nicely and then I will also point to some of the things on your human design chart that keep you prone or that have you prone to, you know, getting stuck, so that you can be able to shift out of those things and create the life and business that you dream of.
