Hey there, welcome back to another episode of the Aligned Business Woman podcast, Vanessa here. I'm really excited about this episode because I'm going to give you a sneak peek into something that I've been doing that's been really working for me in my business to connect with new clients, how to attract clients on repeat without cold pitching.

Let's dive in. I bet if you intentionally chose this episode, most likely your inner dialogue sounds something like, "I can't keep doing this anymore. Why does it feel so hard to get a new client? Am I ever going to be able to retire?" Now, if you ever felt that way, or you've caught yourself having that inner narrative, yet somehow you find yourself still hustling, still chasing clients, still working late, "I can't do this anymore." I remember when I owned my fitness studio slash smoothie bar. I was so young. I was like 35, 36. Then I was thinking that I was older, and I remember being on the cold concrete floor as I was leaving an exercise routine- it was a hit class that I was leading. I remember thinking, "I can't do this much longer. I'm too old for this sh-taki." And so, you might have a similar story, but your context might be different.
Regardless, it's not a strategy problem, it's a pattern problem. You might find yourself thinking, "I know what to do, so why do I keep overworking for every sale?" If that's you, then this episode is definitely for you because I know that you're experienced. Your offers work. You have a validated product or service. And you're doing all the right things, but you're exhausted by how much effort it takes to make a sale. Today I'm going to walk you through the exact shifts that turn your business into a client-attracting ecosystem- no cold pitching, no endless launches, no burnout. And actually, it's a lot of fun. Something new that I've been doing, it's so much fun and I'm actually seeing the results.
But here's the thing that not every entrepreneur realizes. Hustle isn't always loud. Sometimes it looks like trying to be consistent, proving your value, being available for every opportunity where you can't say no, maybe you people-please, and you have so much on your plate. Likely this is happening because your nervous system associates safety with effort. You subconsciously recreate chaos because calm feels unsafe. I can't tell you how many times I've heard someone say, "I just can't sit still, I can't sit still." They get so uncomfortable just sitting with themselves and with the quiet that it literally blocks so many opportunities, information, clarity that they really need to get the ball moving forward.
And so what ends up happening is that they stay stuck in this stressful cycle. And physiologically, something's happening to your brain where you can't get out of that trance. It becomes where you can't even help it because physically, something's happening. Your brain is releasing these bio-chemicals, these stress hormones that are keeping you stuck in this pattern of not being able to see what's logical, what's reasonable for your business.
And that's what I've noticed is that sometimes people confuse feelings for facts. And so they are getting so stuck in a feeling, and when you're so stuck in a negative feeling, that's when you really need to start to reason. I believe that there should be a healthy balance of logic and feelings in your business when you're making decisions and you're taking action. The way that this shows up in your day-to-day is that when you slow down, you begin to panic. You begin to believe that business will dry up. Maybe an afternoon off feels like that is way too much, and you get back to work. Or sometimes you might build momentum, and then you self-sabotage because it feels unfamiliar. And sometimes that sabotage looks like, "Ooh, I'm going to celebrate, I'm going to reward myself because I did these actions", but then you end up rewarding yourself with bad behaviors or bad habits that really slow you down.
The goal isn't to stop working hard, it's to stop making hard work your identity. I am working on a book. The book is about inherited hustle- how we inherit these belief systems that when we hustle, when we prove ourselves, then we have earned the right for success, love, happiness, money, etc. So, when you re-wire that identity of, "hard work is just who I am", I'm not saying hard work is bad or you shouldn't apply effort, but when it becomes bigger in your mind and in your identity than the freedom that you want to be able to have one day, then it's going to override any influences or any behaviors that are going to allow you to have that freedom. It just contradicts what you're going for and that creates inner conflict.
So let's talk about the energy and strategy blend that attracts clients naturally. I call this the energy and strategy blend because whatever strategy you choose is going to require that you show up in good energy. And you're not going to want to choose a strategy that one, your energy can't get behind. There's resistance, there's maybe regret or confusion. You want to make sure that your energy and your strategy calibrate to one another. So the best thing that you can do is first, create a consistent visibility energy. So the first thing that you can do so that you are able to calibrate both your energy and your strategy to get you results is that I want you to pick one to two platforms you can show up on with intention, not obligation.
Have you ever noticed that maybe you were told a while back, "Instagram's the place to be, TikTok's the place to be", and you don't know how to use those platforms, but yet you're forcing yourself to use those platforms? And so your energy behind that- behind that strategy that you're implementing to show up on those platforms- fall flat, maybe you don't come across as energetic or maybe even knowledgeable. And so those two things aren't supportive of one another. But when you pick one to two platforms that you can show up on with intention, not out of obligation, then your energy shows up differently. Maybe the way you deliver your message, maybe the way that you hold yourself during the reel- whatever content that you're using- it's just ends up being different because you want to be on those platforms.
Because here's the thing: people can't hire you if they can't feel you. And one of the things that's going to happen is that they're going to feel your energy through your content. When you're showing up on video, even if it's short-form video, even if it's B-roll, what's going to end up happening is that they're going to be able to see your posture, your body language, and if you're speaking face to camera, they're going to be able to tap into that tonality and even the tempo of your voice. And so these things make up your energy. And if you're not in your best energy, the message that you're wanting to deliver may not land how you want it to land.
And when you're showing up on these one to two platforms, you want to make sure that you're showing up to connect, not convert. Something different that I've been doing is that I only want a certain type of person in my close-proximity group programs, like the Profitable CEO Accelerator. And so when I'm showing up, I'm doing it to connect, not to sell. I don't want anyone and everyone. The thing that I'm doing different is that I'm being very selective and this is by invitation only. Now, if I am not certain if I want them to be in this close-proximity program that's for at least six months, then- and I still need to feel them out, so think of it as me dating- then I will invite them into Your Six-Figure Year.
And so all of this- like bringing in that showing up to connect and not convert- that's really going to shift your energy too because it's going to alleviate any pressure you feel on yourself. It's going to alleviate any pressure that you put on yourself to sell. I also want you to do an energy check. Your content should feel like a conversation, not a pitch.
The next thing that you can do to blend energy and strategy that attracts clients naturally is build simple and predictable nurture systems. I want you to create systems that help build momentum without more output. We want to save your energy for more of the in-person interactions or even behind the camera, so when you do face-to-camera content. That's when we want to reserve your best energy for. And so creating these systems that help you nurture your audience is going to save you so much time and mental capacity. So I want you to think of your content and your email list, and even if you have a course or any other way of delivering information to your current clients, I want you to think of all of that as an ecosystem. They're going to be touchpoints that build trust even when you're not there.
Before we move on to the next one, something that I did recently to actually blend the process of having a nurture system, but then also bring in the more personable touch is that when I go to networking events and maybe I have a vendor booth, I will have people take my quiz. I'll get to know them in person, and I tell them, "Take my quiz." I had been giving them goodie bags with- instead of like a digital download of the freebie, I spent a couple of dollars per workbook, and I got it printed out. Looks really, really nice. I think I got it with Mixama- I need to- I don't remember the company name, but I will make sure to link it in the show notes. They did a quick turnaround. I got about a hundred different workbooks. And so when people would come to my vendor table, I would tell them to take my quiz, I'll have a conversation with them, take my quiz, and then when they take my quiz, I will give them a goodie bag. And so the goodie bag has a workbook, it has my signature pen that I love to give out, a couple of crystals, and even a coupon to my Aligned Business Woman shop. And then at that point, because I usually have them show me their result and I kind of go through it very, very briefly, give them the bag and I say, "Hey, do you mind if I follow up with you in a couple of days and then we can talk about going through your results even deeper", or we can do a deep dive into your results. Usually that's a yes, and so then because I already have their email, I will send them a direct email or even an Instagram DM because on the quiz form, I ask them for their first name, email and Instagram, I will send them a message and be like, "Hey", well, I'll go through and kind of like say, "Based off of this result, this is what's happening. This is the good part, but then this is what might be showing up. I would love to be able to go deeper into your result with you, a personalized reading, and then offer you some resources." That's been working out really well for me because I'm connecting with these people. Not everyone buys right away, but I'm still establishing that relationship. So I'm leveraging the automations to continue to nurture them, but then also making that human connection with them by reaching out and getting on a 20-minute Zoom call to go through a mini-reading of their results and then asking them if they would like to join. Now, not everyone is invited to join one of my programs. The whole purpose of me doing that 20-minute call, again, is to connect with them, get to know them, and to see if we're even a good fit to work with each other. So I highly recommend doing something like that. It's been really fun for me because there definitely is a trust recession, and the sales cycle is a lot longer, you know, most times people aren't going to buy from you for at least over a year, and this has helped me shorten that sales cycle by leveraging the automation but then also not neglecting that human connection.
Let's move over to number three. You want to re-wire your receiving pattern. So this is more of the energy part of bringing the energy and the strategy together so you can attract new clients. So if your body doesn't feel safe to receive with ease, you're always overworking to earn it. So I think that's kind of interesting, right? We never feel safe with just things being simple, but yet we're always wanting that and we're overworking. I find that a lot of times, especially in this era of online business that we're in, or just like business in general, I feel like with the pandemic, a lot of us went into personal development and learning more about ourselves and setting boundaries and just so much like self-exploration. But now, some people have done the healing, but there's still like a deeper healing there. And what that is is the inner conflict that happens. And so, for instance, where when your body doesn't feel safe to receive, and you're always overworking, there's an inner conflict that's happening right now. So you may have done the healing, but you haven't done the integration, and that is what is really needed. And so when I say re-wire your receiving patterns, it's not just about healing money wounds and money mindset, but it's allowing your whole system to integrate together to work with one another. I want you to notice- like how you respond when someone inquires about your offer. You might be at the level in your business where you've healed a lot of things and maybe you're more confident, but in the back of your mind, there's still some kind of contraction, or maybe you feel an expansion. But just really be mindful- like when someone DMs you asking you about your business, do you automatically go to, "Oh, they're just trying to start a conversation so that they can pitch me", or do you have that confidence, just knowing that, "Hey, they probably do want to work with me." So explore the feelings that you're feeling in your body when something like that happens to you. This will be an indicator if there's still more healing that needs to happen and if it's the parts integration that needs to be the next step in your healing. You want to be able to normalize this part, like where your subconscious work meets strategy. Your energy creates a safety for clients to say yes. When you feel safe within yourself, your clients are going to feel safe with you.
By now, you should be able to notice how energy, visibility, and nurture systems work together. So it's not just about the practical systems, but it's also about the energetics behind the strategy. When your energy, visibility, and nurture systems work together, clients start coming to you. You show up in a different energy. You articulate in a different way. Your confidence and your conviction for what you do is so magnetic. This is exactly what I help women create inside the Aligned Business Woman community. Every month I have a mini-training so that you can have actual steps and quick wins to be able to implement things like this where you blend the energetics and you blend the strategy. We are no longer in the phase of, "let's get all the information and then do nothing with it." I feel like that was definitely the era of the pandemic. And if you've been evolving, if you've been growing, then you know it's time for the implementation, to heal the fears, to heal the self-sabotage, so that you are implementing and integrating all the things you've been learning these past few years because all of this is not just about more strategy, it's about building a business that feels grounded, stable, and sustainable.
Here are three tools and resources that will support you in creating this change where you're blending the energy and the strategy. So we talked about one to two platforms that you can show up with intention and not obligation. There is a platform that I absolutely love, it's called Engie, and I'll make sure to link it in the show notes. It helps you schedule content to multiple platforms. So if you're on LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, even TikTok and Threads, Facebook, it will help you easily duplicate one post and schedule it to another platform. What I also love about it is that when you blend it with the seven steps to creating a profitable business workbook that is on our Aligned Business Woman shop, when you get that workbook and you answer the questions, you can then use the answers to those questions and copy and paste it over to Engie so that it knows your tone guidelines, your values, and it really creates your copywriting style because they have a copywriting AI within Engie so that it actually writes your posts and it can even write blog posts. I really love that platform because you're able to leverage automations and systems so that you're not spending a lot more time creating this content and you can show up on multiple platforms, and because the AI copywriter.
Another practical system that I really like is Interact. That is where I host my quiz, and I'll make sure to link that as well. This has helped me segment who my most aligned clients are because I have four different segments, or four different results that someone can get. And I went in and I prioritized based off of these results, who are the best people for me to work with. And so, I had ChatGPT actually go through, along with my seven-steps workbook answers, I uploaded that and then I uploaded the results, like the details or the descriptions of each result, and it prioritized which ones for me to connect with first. So that is also leveraging systems and automation or AI so that I am spending my effort and my focus on the right clients.
So once I use Engie to attract people to my quiz, and then they take my quiz through Interact, they will go through an email sequence with Kit, and then Kit will deliver them a nurture sequence over a few different emails. And then that's when I go through Interact because it segments people, as well as Kit, it'll segment my ideal client. So once it segments them into the four different categories, I will then reach out to the people who are in the top tier of the most aligned client and send them a quick email. I have a Notion board where I collect my whole process. So meaning, I have a Notion board where I keep track of these leads, as well as where I keep track of these scripts. So I am just copying and pasting over with a few little tweaks and customizations for these people.
