Hello and welcome to Coastal Alabama Highway 98 Radio. Rick again behind the microphone. We've got the latest breaking news, extended weather forecast, and great music coming up live, broadcasting from the Blue Ran Media Studios here in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

SPEAKER_02

I used to lie in my bed late at night, stare up at the ceiling, pretend it's a sky, full of stars in the galaxy. Felt like they were calling me. Thought I'd be an astronaut, land on the moon. But life happened fast, and I grew up too soon. And I learned that gravity, don't mess around. You can't touch the sky with your feet on the ground.

SPEAKER_08

But dream, never stop dreaming. Keep starting dragging down this tree with heart.

SPEAKER_02

I looked at that wood. I was still ready for the stores. Just go like I've got to do it. So tend it's a scarf, stones and galaxy. Feels like they're still calling me.

SPEAKER_04

I think we're gonna be able to do it. Um worry, I won't tell anyone. Oh, we do have a third morning. Moment early um moment early. It's early in the morning.

SPEAKER_08

With an Trick of the World, in my blue, and that's all an unbreakable heart. I should know sometimes the just comes and goes, but I we only still will come to remember when you drop your hands. Sunshine pouring down rain. And when you whisper my name, I hear anything, but whipper wheels and freight train. And I don't cry. Ain't straight in my heart. Trigger are those echoes in the business Used to hit me so hard. But when you lie by my side in peaceful dreams, moonline on your face, girl, I can drift away and sleep safe from whipped-wheels and freight train I both waking me and taking me back, stop.

SPEAKER_01

I hate whipper wheels and free trains.

SPEAKER_11

Keep getting that brain. Let these old books stay by the door.

SPEAKER_07

Let me lose it just hearing you say, Tonight, baby, I'm yours.

SPEAKER_11

Let the knee on me on somebody else out there. To get me gone like a no way. Some in the red dress you have. Let me drink you in like whisky. Kiss me, get me gone.

SPEAKER_07

Let your eyes cut me like a night.

SPEAKER_11

Let you get down waterfall from.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, you're already taking my wind.

SPEAKER_11

While you're at a girl, gone take it off. Like the waves keep on pulling me.

SPEAKER_08

Till I can't tell where I store. Baby, where you get me gone like a nowhere wind. Gone like a bunch of final.

SPEAKER_11

Let me drink you in like whiskey. Kiss me, get me gone.

unknown

Give me gone.

SPEAKER_11

Oh baby, get me gone, give me gone.

SPEAKER_08

Baby, get me gone.

SPEAKER_04

It's Highway 98. We've got your favorite new hits, some of those good old hits, indie music, gospel, bluegrass, and so much more here on Highway 98. Does your company, church, business, or school need to get your employees certified in first aid CPR and saving a life? Well, guess what? Armored jackets here on the golf coast. They will bring the dream to you every year. I can't wait. You'll be there too.

SPEAKER_10

We've been drinking, but we ain't drunk. Just cuff Gary Kenny and I do.

SPEAKER_08

You wanna tell the plan to play one more and take me out on that side? I wish, I wish, I wish you would Keep me looking I can see it on your face. Just the cable wants a kiss. I wish, I wish, I wish you wouldn't come out to it.

SPEAKER_10

Share the new chairs above.

SPEAKER_08

You belt the food and fall in love. I wish I wish, I wish you would keep I can see it on your lips. It's the kid I want to kiss. I wish I wish, I wish you would. It's kids to go to your baby back to me. So if you want to take me home, I'll say a poet, so you know I wish I wish I wish you out, I wish you I wish, I wish I wish you looking I can see it on your lips, just a kid who wants to kill. I wish I wish I wish you Another long, hard working day gone. Time to pack it up and head on home. Sun's gonna rise, and I know I gotta do it all over again. There's only two ways through this town, and I don't ever take the other way around. I see the lights and I slow down. It's like they pull me in. I was gonna cry, but I wasn't gonna stop. Then my old truck found a front row spot. Wanna drop in, but I wasn't gonna stay. Then I heard a boss too calling my name. Wasn't gonna let the bar twist my arm, but I'm helpless and I hope it tones that I wasn't gonna train. And then a country stone came on. I was almost out of the door when the fan kicked in. Two, three, four, flame it on ETC for keeping that burning on me. I was gonna drive, but I wouldn't gonna stop. Then my old truck found a front road spot. Gonna drive in, but I wasn't gonna stay. Then I heard a barstool calling my name. Wasn't gonna let alone twist my arm, but I'm helpless in a hulk. Eight songs that I wouldn't gonna train. Then a country stone came on. I was gonna get a good night's sleep And then a country storm came on. Save it for the end of the week Then a country storm came on. I was gonna drive and I wasn't gonna stop. Then I'll try found a front road spot. Gonna drop in, but I wouldn't gonna stay. Then I heard an old friend called my name. But I'm helpless in a humping tongue, said I wouldn't gonna train And then a punch on came on. I wouldn't do a train Then a punch on C Mm wound on the train Yeah, punch your song.

SPEAKER_00

Rip currents cause an estimated 100 deaths each year in the United States. In 2021, five of these deaths were on the Gulf Coast. Rip currents are the number one ruther-related killer at the beaches along the northern Gulf Coast. The number of rip current fatalities on these beaches is more than the fatalities of flooding, tornadoes, lightning, and tropical storms or hurricanes combined. Learn the facts. Before heading out to the beach, check current beach conditions and know what each flag means. Always swim near a lifeguard. Rip currents are narrow currents that flow away from the beach. If you notice you're being pulled away from the beach and are swimming and getting tired, you may be in a rip current. Think of it like a treadmill that you can't turn off. You want to step to the side of it. Don't swim against the current. Try to swim across it in a direction following the shoreline. Rip currents do not pull you under, but may take you as far out as a football field so people can tire quickly. The most important thing is to stay calm. If you can't escape the current, float or calmly tread water. Wave for help if you can. Rip current's strength eventually subsides and may even take you closer to shore. If you see someone caught in a rip current, call 911 or get a lifeguard and throw something that floats towards the victim. For more information, please visit www.visitalbeaches.com slash safety.

SPEAKER_04

Your local news and seven-day forecast coming up. And once again, you're going to be good.

SPEAKER_09

You've been here and you've been gone so many times. And every night, we're always burning into you. We do the same things we used to. It's your place or it's mine.

SPEAKER_08

So I'm not sure what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_09

I can't wait for it. Um every time I'm at this bar, tap on the shoulder, turn around. Baby, there you are. You like this banner on a throw? Yeah, they all turn the way you do. You're bad. Baby, there you are.

SPEAKER_07

Not to drink you off my mind. Every day's just getting better. And all this time's just flying by with midnight prayers and drunk mistakes. I'll get over you someday. When the sun sets in the east and goes around.

SPEAKER_08

When the world don't turn in the summer sky. When the stars don't grow in hell's ice cold and time in satellites.

SPEAKER_07

That's when I give old. I wasn't dreaming about a ring. It's not like I'm losing sleep, you're honestly. When the world don't turn in the summer sky. When the stars don't go, and hell's as cold, and Dolly's out of tune. And Johnny don't love June. And my heart don't stop when you walk in the room.

SPEAKER_08

That's when I get past the I'm still hurting from the last time. You walked on this heart of mine. I can't find much to believe in. You let me down so many times. But I'm tired of holding on. You better kiss me. You gon' miss me when I'm gone. There's not much chance of gonna make it. We're running out of time. Some bigger, you're gonna wake up. Wonder what went wrong. You better kiss me.

SPEAKER_09

You gon' miss me when I am down.

SPEAKER_08

You're good to go and through the motion. Now I get this and feeling when I look into your eyes. You gonna miss me when I better kiss me.

SPEAKER_04

Hey everyone, you know this time of year is great. So much happening in our areas, festivals, cook-off events, musical events, and so much more. If your church organization or business is having some type of event, well, you can have us be your mouthpiece for free. Contact helpdesk at bluermedia.com. We'll push the word out, we'll tell them where it's at, what's happening, and all of that for free. Helpdesk at bluermedia.com. Once again, this morning I have your extended weather forecast. And we're using all the same tools as any meteorologist, any weather station. And I can tell you for the next at least five days, we're looking at some wet weather. This morning, we're gonna have those thunderstorms and rain, probably lasting through till about one or two o'clock in the afternoon. The thunderstorms uh should roll on out of here by then, leaving behind temperatures around 76 degrees. And 65 will be the high, or the low, I should say. In the overnight tonight, 62% is the chance of rain throughout part of today. Winds are coming out of the east northeast at about 13 miles per hour. On Friday, we won't escape the rain, but we will see some sunshine. High on Friday, 76 degrees. The low will be around 68. But afternoon and evening showers, and possibly even thunderstorms are likely on Friday evening. And we've got about a 50% chance. Likelihood, those storms will rumble on through again. Wind coming out of the southeast at about 8 to 12 miles per hour. Now, once again, as we move into the weekend, it's gonna be wet, and this is when we expect the majority of our storms. Now, last week we had a little bit of storm, a few thunder boomers, nothing major, but it looks like that this Saturday, the 9th, and Sunday the 10th of the month, we're gonna be seeing a little heavier thunderstorm activity moving into the area. On Saturday, the temperature high will be 77, the low will be 68, and the winds are blowing 8 to 12 miles per hour. Sunday, right around 79 degrees, will top out as our high, 66 in the overnight, and once again, thunderstorms are likely with an 88% chance of thunderstorms for Sunday. Winds coming out of the northeast at about 9 to 11 miles per hour. What's it gonna look like when we get on back to work? Well, for me, I work 24-7 just about, but many of you do have a few days off. So Monday, if you're going back to work, well, in the morning we're gonna be looking at some more wet weather clearing out by noon, sun moving in there after about a 35% chance of rain on Monday. 79 will be the high, 57 will be the low, and 11 to 12 miles per hour breeze coming on through our area. On Tuesday, we're looking at highs around 78, 61 in the overnight, and guess what? The sun will return full force, only about a 3 or 4% chance of rain if that. Wind's blowing 8 miles per hour, very light breeze. We are looking at Wednesday and Thursday as duplicates. Both days will be partly cloudy. Sun and clouds will be in the area, but only a very slight 10% chance of any rain activity. 80 degrees during the day, 65 in the overnight. Friday, well, that's a different story. Saturday, and maybe some more storms. We'll have, of course, the latest, most accurate, updated weather for you when we get back in the studio next Monday. And that is your extended weather forecast from Coastal Alabama Radio.

SPEAKER_08

I'll take the back.

SPEAKER_01

Go to Alabama's all new Highway 98 Radio.

SPEAKER_08

There's a more road around too late.

SPEAKER_09

SPEAKER_08

SPEAKER_07

SPEAKER_08

All we sit in the same place, cold, bearing my hand. They know me by name, and my goats to drink. Yeah, I come here every Wednesday.

SPEAKER_07

SPEAKER_08

Don't come up with me like you own if you own it. I hate to break it to you, you don't, yeah, you don't You think you're stuck a star, but here's my funny part.

SPEAKER_04

No one even knows who you are This is my bar is tonight Been coming here for a long time Before I met you Don't act surprised when you see me Like you didn't have a clue That I'd be here tonight Wearing those jeans you like Been coming here for a long time you are I hate to break it to you, you don't get you dogged up your stuff, but it's hard to do off this night Don't even buy that round Just stop before it's done Don't do your start it's down You don't really need that's my boss Yeah this is my boss you I can't still I can do you you don't you don't but it's not funny This is my dog it's my ball This is my ball Yeah it's my ball I come here every Wednesday I love the Bay Red Mobile Bay Patrol Service public safety and law enforcement train with more than 30 years experience here along the Gulf Coast protecting our people our property and our way of life give them a call at 251-264-2498. They offer mobile patrol services of churches, businesses, gated communities, condominiums, beach resorts, yacht clubs, and so much more. 251-264-2498. Call today and you will see better tonight. Many cities across the country and right here along the Gulf Coast of Alabama are cities within the city. Many, many communities, including Baldwin County now, ranking in those numbers, where they have communities that have upwards of three, five, even ten thousand people, either in gated communities or in uh subdivisions with hundreds and thousands of homes. And I know many of you are not happy with some of the building that's going on in a community. Well, let's take Jubilee Farms, for instance. They're currently building some more homes that will put them around twelve or thirteen hundred homes, and if you estimate add three or four people uh per residence, just uh, you know, kind of figure that out. We're looking at around five thousand or more people, and as we look not only here in Baldwin County, but across the country, this is a growing thing. Many communities are building within the community. They're not all gated, they're not all locked in and secure, but they are all a city, a private city within the city. And in fact, some of them, and I can count probably a couple dozen, have their own police forces. I was reading just the other day. There's a lake community up in central Virginia that has hired their own private police force. I'm not talking about guards, we're talking about sworn law enforcement. Also in Virginia, in the Roanoke area, there's a ski resort that started as a ski resort many years ago, and they too have thousands of residents now in homes throughout their community, and they too have a private police force. Atlanta! Atlanta, of course, is huge, and in many communities that are not gated or are gated, they not only hire security guards or security officers, but also off-duty police officers, and this is a growing trend throughout the nation. Now, Alabama, not only in our part, but up in the north, is growing significantly, and so is the crime. The police are not staffed appropriately to take care of it, and therefore, these large communities, cities within the city, are going outside of using police and either starting their own police force, hiring armed security staff. Uh I mean, we've noticed this, I've noticed this for years. In fact, some hospitals nationwide have hired in-house police departments to began their own police agency because the police are not getting there uh quickly enough during an emergency. I noticed this past weekend the number of emergency calls on some of these developments. I am talking about in a 24-hour police and fire EMS have gone to some of these locations multiple times. This is gonna continue and it is a trend.

SPEAKER_08

I gave up cigarette cause I found it something better to smoke I quit that local ball cause I found me a home gets home I'm just a good ball, look up the neck, I bought the five I'm the ball Lookin' for the next bottle, right? Looking for me to put you out, don't you do that?

SPEAKER_05

And here's the exit. You know, Johnny, he has six beers did already. This is not gonna end well. Steve, he's rumbling, bubbling, stumbling all over the place, and oh, that can't be good. Look at that stopping key action. That's gonna draw penalty. Drinking, driving, possible$1,500 fine, and one year in jail. Yeah, Steve, that was a good call by the ref. One bad decision totally changes the game.

SPEAKER_04

You know what just goes to show if you drink and you drive, nobody wins, across America and here along the Gulf Coast in Baldwin and Mobile counties, more than 75% of all firefighters are volunteers. They spend their time helping others. Around the clock, many of our volunteers respond from home, from work, and from the fire station. But just like businesses all around the country, it's becoming more and more difficult to recruit firefighters. If you want to truly help your community and make a difference, I encourage you to reach out to your local volunteer fire department here along the Gulf Coast or anywhere in the country, and volunteer your time today. Unlike 20 or 30 years ago, volunteer firefighters are professional firefighters, professionally trained, firefighters and many times, PMDs and paramedics. Please help your community and donate some of your time, and you'll not only make a difference, but you'll feel good about it. I know. I've been a volunteer firefighter, PMD paramedic, and law enforcement most of my life. Please reach out today. And thank you. It must be that time again when the kiddos are about to get out of school. Why do I say that? Well, once again, Golf Shores is sponsoring S'mores on the Shore. The event will take place May 21st from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. This semi-annual event kind of closes out the school year, and it's a great time to just have family fun, bring the family together, campfires, music, more, and so much more will be the scene as the City of Golf Shores hosts this event once again May 21st. The fun is gonna begin at 6 p.m. and will take place once again at Golf Place. You know where that is, right over there at 101 Golf Shores Parkway. The family-friendly event will include a variety of free items and activities, including some more packets alive with DJ, a balloon artist.

SPEAKER_08

I am insensitive. I have a tendency to pay more attention to the things that I need. Sometimes I drink too much. Sometimes I test your trust. Sometimes I don't know why you stay with me. I'm hot and love. I don't make it like the fucking stuff. I'm hot and dumb, stay tuned, like don't start the butt. I love that you do love I am a chore fused. I am a wreckin' ball. Crashin', do you heart like I do? You like a Sunday morning full of grace and full of Jesus. I wish that I could be more like you. I'm hard in the dust. And I couldn't do it if I stood where you stood. I'm hard in love, hard in love. You say that you need me. I don't deserve. Just might run the pool table. Roll your eyes if I call you an angel. Ain't you one of them furbs? Ask you to dance, you say no. Just to see how far I'll go. Your song comes on and your eyes close. That's when I know. Yeah. You got your heart on lockdown. Got a wall I gotta knock down. Kinda wanna do a shot now. Come on now. You wanna do that? Ain't trying to be nobody. You're just here for the party. If I'm wrong, stop me. You wanna do the best? If you like to make the spot, you like to make the spotter. If you wanna work, stop on board. Who like that? Don't worry. Broken we all down. You would like to make the dog. You would like to make the water. Oh one of them girls.

SPEAKER_06

Everyone asks when you grow enough, who do you wanna be? I never had an answer, couldn't figure out why I couldn't see myself as some future other. No one's partner, no one's mother, no one's answer, no one's lover, nobody but me. But the older I get, the more I see that power by itself never worked for me. Keeping it simple as it can be. Walking along, just him and me. Mornings here with a coffee cup, songs in my head looking up. If the rain holds off, we'll be in luck. But we're lucky anyway. A long time ago, I got married once, and didn't take long to find that the words I heard coming out of his mouth were not the truthful kind. I thought about moving to LA, maybe upstate or the UK, anywhere as long as it's far away from what I left behind. And the older I get, the more I'm sure that moral by itself never was a cure. Some days I've got nothing to show for except walking the dark and walking the floor. Mornings here with a coffee cup, stories in my head and looking up. But we're lucky anyway. In December, we lay a fire. A girl and a dog riding in the truck. Wave as we're going by. Now the older I get, the less I need. Just a good old dog underneath the trees, keeping it simple as it can be, fitting together like a puzzle piece. Morning's here with a coffee cup, whistling for him while I'm looking up. If the rain holds off, we'll be in luck. But we're lucky anyway. We're lucky anyway.

SPEAKER_04

We're bringing you great music, news, and local events every day, right here on Highway 98. A few weeks ago I had a lot of announcements for the studio pair open. Today, you know what? It looks like I've got a lot of announcements for the studio golf showers. A new golf cart ordinance has been updated. Now, licensed drivers age 16 and older can now drive a golf cart. 15-year-olds with a learner permit and accompanied by an adult licensed driver 21 and older. They can also drive a golf cart. Previously, only people 18 and older could operate a golf cart or any type of uh other vehicles in designated areas you can propose to change to the public input and aligns with the Alabama uh driving rules. Also, if you have an e-bike, e-scooter, e anything, there's a new ordinance for that too. There's only certain places that you can ride, and if you're uh got uh an e-bike, you have to follow the rules of the road. Be sure you're not driving on lawns or on places that you're not supposed to be because the police will pull you over and you'll get ticketed. Your uh e-vehicle, the machine can also be impounded, and guess what? Inferold they recently also have a similar law, and they're gonna really start targeting people who are driving reckless, careless, um, causing issues with uh you know in traffic and whatnot. In Ferrol, they've had a lot of issues, and now if you are one of those E-riders, I suggest that you obey the rules of the road and that you slow down and stop driving wild. Let's just do what's right and keep everybody safe.

SPEAKER_08

You're never gonna be alone, never from now on. Need someone to hold just hold on me.

SPEAKER_06

I'll never be far away. I'm here to stay.

SPEAKER_08

If you get lost, get lost on me. The second I looked into the right baby. No matter what, I know you're right where I'm gonna be Even if the kids Even on the worst of days, I know it's gonna be okay. As long as I got you like it. Whatever crazy is my do, whatever it is that we go through, no matter what I know, you're right where I wanna be.

SPEAKER_04

As we wrap up this show on this Thursday morning, the seventh day of May, 2026. And uh, like I have been saying for quite some time, yes, uh storms do move in our area frequently, especially this time of year. Yes. This could be very tornadic. We could have tornadoes at any time. So it's very important that you listen to a weather box. Have the weather app on your phone. I don't go any place without you know all of those alerts on my phone. I'd rather have that than somebody's game apps or nothing. I'm not that guy. But I do want to know what's happening in my neighborhood, so I suggest that you kind of probably if you don't already probably get those apps and uh the news apps because they're gonna really help you out. You know what else you can help us out by telling your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and others all about the radio, how they can listen to it on the goal and work for even the original broadcast. You wanna work it, you want to liberty, you want to get your name out there, we got it all for you for just one hundred dollars a month.com and send us a news death at the news desk at blue rammedia.com. Until the next time, y'all be blessed. Stay safe. I'll see you back here on the radio.
