Welcome to Little Bracket of Horrors. The pod that puts the fight in fright!
In this episode we are heading to a ridiculous Airbnb to have a nice romantic weekend. Unfortunately it looks like we're gonna have to share this 2,500 square foot palace with very intrusive couple (Cinnamon and Will) because of a mix up on the booking.
So join the LBOH Crew as we unravel this mystery of murder and deep seeded family issues. We're talkin' deeeeeeeep!
On this episode we are joined by Steve F., who submitted Bone Lake to our list of movies for this season. We'd like to thank Steve for the fantastic submission and for joining us on this recoding.
Don't miss out and tune in till the end of the season where we will be taking all 16 of the films we watched this year and put them into our “Little Bracket of Horrors Deathmatch”. It's a march madness style tournament where only the strongest films will survive. Does Bone Lake have what it takes? Stay with us to find out.

Welcome to little bracket of horse. The pod that puts the fight and frightfully. Welcome back, everyone. I'm Derek.
SPEAKER_10I'm Roger.
SPEAKER_04And we are Little Bracket of Wars. And uh before we get into the show and start talking about Bone Lake and our guest today, I did want to let everyone know that uh Shelly has decided to step away from the show. Uh between really finding her place in like the local theater productions and growing in her professional career and like all the other activities she's involved in, it just became too much for her to balance everything. So she had to make a call. But uh as creator of this podcast, I wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation to Shelly for what she was and still is to this podcast. Oh um, she will always be part of the foundation and heart of this show, and I cannot thank her enough for agreeing to do this with me five years ago. So uh yeah, it's been five years. So uh, you know, to our listeners, don't fret. Uh Shelly will not be a stranger, and I'm sure she'll pop up as guests down the line, and you know, you'll get to hear her sweet voice again. Uh, but yeah, so thank you to Shelly. We love you, and uh yeah, we will we'll catch you on the other side as well.
SPEAKER_10Moment of silence, not not needed. We don't, she's not she's not gone.
SPEAKER_04Exactly.
SPEAKER_10She's just doing other things.
SPEAKER_04She's yeah, she is she is a a juggler, if anything else. Uh so many things going on. But yeah, you guys will hear it down the line. But uh yeah, that's uh just want to let everyone know what's going on. And uh with that, we're talking about bone leg today, and it just so happens that it was given to us by Steve F, Shelly's dad. So, Steve, welcome back to the podcast. Hello, thank you. How you doing today?
SPEAKER_02Good, doing good, doing good, just breathing, just trying to stay um mindset because I'm doing the play with Shelly. Yes. Uh the past this we're we're two shows away from wrapping that up, and then I've got travel and knee surgery coming up, so fun stuff, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you're you're juggling a lot as well. Yep, real life stuff.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, real life stuff, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Uh I did go last night to see the Spoon River play, which is Shelly's current production, and Steve was in it. And uh just to put it out there, it was fantastic. Uh, the Fowlers were all over that production, and it was amazing to see Shelly uh as the tour guide. And Steve, I mean, this was this was your first production, right, Steve? My first production of this kind, yeah. And it was absolutely insane. Like, Steve did not just dip his toes in it, he dove into the deep end. I mean, he had different characters he had to play, emotions he had to convey, and like even uh different accents. So, Steve, even you, you killed it, and it was amazing. You had to sing at one point.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, good lord, man. That wasn't great, but the director said it's okay for him. So I went with it.
SPEAKER_04Yes, no, it was it was perfect. Uh, and I just wanted to commend you and congratulate you on your bravery to get up there. I I don't know if I would have it in me to just jump into a huge part like that and play all these different characters. So, Steve, hats off to you for your part in that production as well. It's a fantastic play.
SPEAKER_10Thank you. I as well, Lisa and I saw it uh last Saturday, a week ago today. Was it Saturday or Sunday? No, Sunday, almost a week ago today. And uh yeah, it was it was pretty good. It was nice and intimate, small, small, smaller playhouse. You're like right there in the action.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's one of one of the things I liked about it is that um it's been intimate. Each show has got you know minutiae little changes sometimes. You know, the person reacts differently, or like uh when Derek came and saw it, he turned the house lights down completely on the audience. Uh when when Roger saw it, the house lights were kind of up a bit so that the tour guide can be inclusive of them into her tour. But uh he decided to try something different, and I think it worked. So it's all good, man. We're having a blast with it.
SPEAKER_10But I it the coming in though, I was like really hungry. I was like, man, I hope they have snacks, and they did, and that was really key to keep me going during that play because I was like, because we we skipped lunch, I think, and I was like, Oh, they had Snickers for sale. Right, so I'm like, give me all that Snickers, and I'll just chowing down as we're watching. Yep, it saved me.
SPEAKER_04It's a sign of a good uh a good playhouse, they got some snacks.
SPEAKER_10Sometimes they don't let you eat in there. That's true, but this one did. Thank you.
SPEAKER_04And thank goodness for the seat cushions that they gave us. Yes, because last weekend I fell and bruised my tailbone. And I'm still feeling it today. And um when we were walking in and I saw their hard chairs, I'm like, I may be fucked. But luckily they had a basket with cushions in them. I was like, thank God.
SPEAKER_10So when we got there, the cushions were all gone because everyone else used them, so we got no cushions. But it's all right, I got enough cushion on my back to get me. I have nothing. No, I don't either. I'm flat. There's no cake back here.
SPEAKER_02I feel your pain. I had uh I think I broke my tailbone back in the early, the late 70s. Sitting on a donut for at least a month because it hurts so bad.
SPEAKER_04So yeah, that's what I was like looking up because I was like, I wonder if it's just bruised or broken. And either or there's nothing they can do for you, and it's just like you you have to sit on a donut. And I was like, Well, it's not that bad, it's just uncomfortable. So I don't think it's broken, I think it's just bruised, but yeah, what with it glazed or just sitting, just sitting on actual donuts, standard standard cake donut.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, sweet.
SPEAKER_04Just messing up your pants and the couch and whatever you're sitting on.
SPEAKER_10But real quick, what's your what's your go-to donut, Derek? Go-to donut.
SPEAKER_04It's the vanilla cream filled, I guess someone called the long john, but yeah.
SPEAKER_10Oh, nice. I know we have those at uh my company. They're the best. Uh Steve, go-to donut.
SPEAKER_02Uh Boston cream. What? Every time Boston cream. Um, I love any variations, especially if they sprinkle bacon on top of it. Okay. I've seen that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I can't stand the yellow Boston cream. It's just the the taste of the Boston cream just throws me off. And I hate because I I'll go to bite into a donut that I think is the vanilla cream, and I get a mouthful of Boston cream.
SPEAKER_02Sadie's the same way. She's a white, a white cream eater.
SPEAKER_04I uh so I I I have uh I have a legit hatred for the Boston cream because it it tricks me sometimes. So, you know, that's that's what's going on with me. All right, so let's kick this off how we kick them all off, which is me asking, have you guys watched anything scary or anything scary happen? And Roger, I'll I'll throw it to you first.
SPEAKER_10So I have watched nothing scary.
SPEAKER_04Get out of town, dude.
SPEAKER_10But we have watched some things. We've been watching um uh we watched a movie called The Tale of Two Coreys, which was made for a lifetime, which tells the tale of Corey Hain and Corey Feldman.
SPEAKER_05I was going to ask that.
SPEAKER_10Is that what it's about?
SPEAKER_05That's awesome.
SPEAKER_10Uh, I think it was produced by Corey Feldman because it was more uh favorable towards him a little bit compared to the hamster. But uh really interesting things. And I and it talked about their you know sexual abuse in Hollywood a little bit growing up and all that stuff. And uh then we watched uh documentary about the best Christmas movies ever. Oh, and also documentary about the how it's called The Houses From. So it explores all the houses used in television and movies and and the people that live inside them, like real people and what they deal with, with like fans coming up to them and taking pictures of their houses all the time or like breaking onto their properties and stuff like that. Which is an interesting viewpoint from the other side when you live in a famous house and you have to deal with it. So that was pretty cool. And we also watched the documentary because Lisa hadn't seen it. I don't think I watched it for a while. It's Wolfman had got nards because Lisa's never saw it.
SPEAKER_04I imagine that's about Monster Squad.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, the Monster Squad documentary from 2018, which I had a chance to participate in because they came to Spooky and they had a waiver to like to do it, and they asked me, Do you want to do it? Because I told them it was like one of my first horror movies experiences and got me into love of horror. I'm like, Yeah, but then there's some confusion I never got a chance to record. It's like, damn it. So I remember I remember them uh I was rather they were on the trail of making that during that time back in 18, 2018. Yeah. So way back in the day. But yeah. Uh we got tickets for Spider-Man for Sunday.
SPEAKER_04The Sunday for tomorrow?
SPEAKER_10Tomorrow. Okay, cool. The new Spider-Man movie. Something to look forward to. And we also watched Jurassic Park, Sam Neil for uh in Memoriam.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah. Rip.
SPEAKER_10And uh oh, I forgot to say, I also I went and saw the Odyssey.
SPEAKER_04Oh, you did go to the theater to see Odyssey.
SPEAKER_10Oh yes, an XD, and it was an experience. It was awesome. Highly recommended if anybody's seen the Odyssey yet.
SPEAKER_04Did Lisa go with you or did you? No.
SPEAKER_10No, she stayed home. She was wasn't feeling well, but she wanted me to go see it before it went out of like the XD, the bigger, you know, the biggest screen here in my area, so we don't have an IMAX. So it was the best best next thing. I gave it four and a half stars. It was awesome. I was it's up there as my favorite. It's yes, it is. It's up there as my favorite one of my favorite Chris Nola movies. It's uh very epic.
SPEAKER_06It looks epic, so that's awesome.
SPEAKER_10And to top it off, we also watch the uh one of the uh part of the I call it the Fred Savage Holy Trinity of movies, vice versa.
SPEAKER_05Fred Savage?
SPEAKER_10Yes, the Fred Savage Holy Trinity of movies. It's uh those three movies anybody's wanted vice versa, Little Monsters. Yeah, and um uh oh The Wizard.
SPEAKER_04Oh, the yes, the wizard.
SPEAKER_10The Mario 3 NES movie. Yes, yeah, what a great movie. That's the holy trinity of Fred Savage. So uh we watched we we just put Vice Russ on we haven't watched in a while, and I've and it's just awesome. I like Vice I like Vice Russia a lot.
SPEAKER_04Isn't he the little kid getting the story read to him in uh never ending the story?
SPEAKER_10No, uh Princess Bread.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that's what it is.
SPEAKER_10I don't count that since it's just like a quick Yes, yeah, like you know, if I did that would be up there, but I don't I told because Lisa said that same thing. She's like, what about Princess Bread? And I'm like, he's in it for like in the beginning for a couple minutes and then for a couple minutes. I don't count that. I said starring Fred Savage movies.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, actually, he's actually in it, he's not the grandson of the narrator.
SPEAKER_10But uh that's uh what we've been watching on this side of things. What about you, Derek?
SPEAKER_04Um, so I um I watched the new Lee Cronin's The Mummy. Ooh, and I don't want to give my opinion or thoughts on it yet because we always do top five horror movies of 2020, you know, this this year we'll do 2026, but uh it's definitely gonna be on that episode. I'm not gonna say if it's good or bad, but you know, time will tell. But uh I did watch that. Uh, we were in Jacksonville last week. Ian had a goalkeeper camp, and we had rented an Airbnb, and uh we weren't really doing anything the one evening, and uh Lee Cronin's a mummy was available, and I started watching it, and Carrie and Ian quickly dipped out and went uh to the bedroom to hang out. But uh yeah, um I checked that out. You guys will hear about it when we do our uh top five movies, but uh yeah, that's that's about it.
SPEAKER_10That's uh I heard that's very evil dead ish esque. Is that true? Would you say that?
SPEAKER_04I I could understand that that thought and that feel. Yeah, I haven't seen it yet.
SPEAKER_10I'm gonna it's on my list. I'm gonna pop it on the page.
SPEAKER_04It's on it's on Peacock, so I've seen it. Uh oh, you have okay. Um wow, yeah. Very cool. But yeah, that's about that's about it for me. Uh Steve, what about you? Watch anything scary or other than the play, anything scary happen?
SPEAKER_02Not not in the play, no, but um two weeks two Fridays ago, John Carpenter was doing a um uh a thing with uh Turner Classic movies called The Carpenter Zone. And the first Friday he kind of did uh sci-fi movies, which I'm really into myself. So he had three picks for the sci-fi. So I watched the Quartermas experiment, it the terror from Beyond Space, and them. Um, and then the next Friday he jumped into the horror genre. So he did Curse of Frankenstein with Christopher Lee and and um Plumber, and then The Mummy with Christopher Lee and Plumber as again, and then Curse of the Demon or Knight of the Demon, as it's been known as well, which is kind of a freaky little thing, but it's it's really stood up in time to be one of those classic horror kind of things. So uh and then you know we got Carpenter's feedback on them, what he thought of them, and things of that nature, which was kind of interesting. If you look up the the Carpenter Zone, you'll find the article that they talk about everything um related to those movies and what his input was on them and things of that nature. So I'm a big Carpenter fan, so anytime he's giving feedback on any kind of thing, yeah, I'm I'm there to listen to what he has to say. And then I watched uh Lee Cronin's The Mummy. Um I I won't I won't dip my toe into that just yet because I've been kind of slowly stepping through the Evil Dead stuff. I just watched Evil Dead, the the second movie that was the remake, and uh so next up is Army of the Dead, and then I want to get into the series. I heard that's a really good uh wrap-up for the original two movies. So and then I have not seen Evil Dead Rise, and then we saw the burn and which I I thought was really really good. I love the little Easter eggs that they put in for yeah, absolutely. Yeah, that one I had no premonition of what it was gonna be when when they were doing it, and uh I just I'll just say that the uh the scene with the headrest in the car was nuts. Uh nuts, absolutely crazy.
SPEAKER_06So yeah, we'll we'll go with that. Nice well said.
SPEAKER_04Um yeah, so all we have to do is get into Bone Lake. So our first segment is dig up the bones, and that's where Roger introduces the movie and uh gives a little brief summary. So, Roger, you're up. Take it away.
SPEAKER_10Digging up the Bone Lake. Like it's a play on words there. All right, so we got uh Bone Lake released October 3rd, 2025. Has a 5.6 IMDB rating, 84% Rotten Tomato score with a 60% audience score. Uh the runtime is 94 minutes, which is right in tune of our uh spots of movies on this podcast.
SPEAKER_04Right in the pocket.
SPEAKER_10Aspect ratio of 2391, which means of shot wide, so you got all that glorious extra uh scenery and uh in all your shots. Uh budgets unknown. Unknown.
SPEAKER_05It was unnamable and unknown.
SPEAKER_10But um no, I couldn't find one. I even searched the scars on the internet, and there was no estimated uh thing, which happens a lot with newer movies. They don't release it, you don't you don't find that out for a bit. So uh which fine, but it uh grossed 1.3 million United States, 2.2 worldwide, but it was only released in a thousand fifty-nine thealers. Okay, get the full wire release of like forty the 4,500, which is like all of the country, so it's just select areas. I don't I don't know, I'm sure if he came over here by me or not. I don't remember. Uh, but I didn't I didn't see this one in the other on Netflix, just like most of our audience for this episode. Yeah. So the synopsis is a couple's vacation at a secluded estate is upended when they're forced to share the mansion with a mysterious couple. A dream getaway spirals into a nightmarish. Oh, I sunk my camera. My camera.
SPEAKER_09Oh, someone sunk me down.
SPEAKER_10All right, we're back. We're back.
SPEAKER_04He's not just a floating head, perfect.
SPEAKER_10He's got shoulders and arms. A dream getaway spirals into a nightmarish maze of sex, lives, and manipulation, triggering a battle for survival. Hell yeah. That's what I'm talking about. Yeah, this is right at R, so this is not for your child, not for the children. And in the first five minutes of the movie, you can get it.
SPEAKER_05Five minutes, five seconds.
SPEAKER_10Five seconds, it's not for kids. Yeah, we didn't do it. Yep. The tagline is one of the taglines. I just picked out the one I like the best, is you better have a safe word. And my safe word is pineapple. Pineapple. Pineapple. Now we know.
SPEAKER_04Roger to shells at pineapple. We have to stop.
SPEAKER_10Pineapple. Starring Alex Rowe, uh, as well. He was in the movie Rings in the fifth wave. Maddie Hassan. She was in the movie Malignant. Hey, which you guys, did you guys do that one about the book?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we did that second season. Yeah. Great movie.
SPEAKER_10She's a veteran of Little Bracket of Horrors. Yeah, yeah. Second time, at least. And uh the TV show Impulses, uh, she played uh Sage. Um, and if you're and don't confuse her, you might be thinking, is this the new girl from like uh midsnow? No, it's not. It's a I looked at it.
SPEAKER_04It's not the girl from Midsummer.
SPEAKER_10I looked up reviews and I was like, a lot of people are pointing pointing that out. I was like, is that uh like no, no, that's not but they have a very similar look. Uh Marco Pagosi, he was uh who played Diego. He was in TV show Edge of Desire in Boogie. He's done a lot of T a lot of TV. He had like one like four series in a row that he did like a hundred plus episodes. So he's a TV veteran.
SPEAKER_04He's a he's a Brazilian actor, correct?
SPEAKER_10I have no idea, Derek. I didn't find that out in my head.
SPEAKER_04I'm pretty sure he has so I'm sure I'm sure he has a lot of Brazilian you know credits, not just credits.
SPEAKER_10So it could very it's you know very exotic. Very exotic. I thought it was Italian, but I'll go with Brazilian. You sounded Italian. And uh last but not least, Andrea Nicketta. Nickeda, I'm probably mispronouncing. I apologize if you're listening out there. Yeah, we saw one of the one of our listeners. But uh she was in she was in the movie Bad Teacher, but that was with Cameron Diaz and TV show Inhumans. She played Sin or Cinnamon. Cinnamon for long, for long, sin for sure.
SPEAKER_04Her birth name was Cinnamon.
SPEAKER_10Written by Joshua Freelander, directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan, composer, two of them, Roke Bainos and Ben Cherney, special effects, Will Zundema, and distributed by our friends at Bleaker Street.
SPEAKER_05Uh bleaker, yeah. Saw that.
SPEAKER_10And um, I have two uh what I like to do, two quick reviews from Round Tomatoes, one on the uh on a positive end, gave it a tomato, four out of five. This uh Catherine says, It always feels as if the people making this movie are having fun, and while that's never a guarantee that the audience will too, it's certainly the case here. Which I agree with. It was a lot of fun. And uh a take from Emma Vine, who gave it a 2.5, it got a big old splat on the old tomato tomato meter there. Uh said that Bone Lake feels like a generic Airbnb horror that's a small fish in a large subgenere landscape full of much better films. I will say that there have been quite a bit of Airbnb movies. I remember one of my personal favorites is uh Barbarian. Yes.
SPEAKER_03What a great which which I compared it to.
SPEAKER_10I was like, he kind of has barbarian because it's like it's two people showing up at the same Airbnb by mistake. So I was like, yeah, it has some has some barbarian advice, but there's no like, you know, giant. You know, basement monster would try to make you drink her her her breast milk. But centuries ago. Spoiler alert, but uh it's oil alert. But uh that's it. That's digging up the bone lake.
SPEAKER_04Well, thank you so much, Roger, for digging up those bones and you know, giving them to us. Uh so before we jump into talking about our thoughts on it, I do want to get everyone's initial reactions to landing on it. So, first, uh Steve, I'm gonna throw it to you since you gave us the film to put on the wheel and we landed on it. Steve, why'd you how'd you give us bone lake?
SPEAKER_02Well, when I first saw it, um I I kind of liked the premise of it. I mean, it wasn't uh it wasn't preconceived. I didn't know what it was. I mean, I had seen other lake-reated related uh horror films like Mungo Lake and things like that. I didn't know what to expect. Um, but um yeah, it just I I really enjoyed seeing it, and uh and when I watched it again, it was just as prevalent when I watched it the first time. So when you were looking for suggestions, I'm like, ooh, yeah, bone lake.
SPEAKER_04Nice. Roger, what about you uh initial reactions when we landed on it?
SPEAKER_10Well, I've never seen it, so I'm always excited I always get excited when we land on something I haven't seen. So I I remembered it because I was like, Bone Lake, what is that? And I looked it up, like oh, I know I remember that seeing the previews for it, but I never got a chance to see it at the thealer. Um, but yeah, I was excited. Um, I like I like me some uh mysterious uh horror lake movies. So uh you know, throw it on there. My my one of my personal favorites is Placid Lake, like Placid. There it is. Like Placid with the giant alligator. I like that. That's one of my like go-to's.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. What about you, Derek? So um I really had no reaction, I guess, for this, uh, other than being excited to get Steve on the podcast. Uh I remember seeing the the posters last year, uh, but I didn't see a lot of people like talking about it. And uh actually I can say uh, you know, whenever we cover uh a movie, I always like to go out and listen to other podcasts and find YouTube videos and see what people, you know, how people feel about the movie. There was not a lot out there about Bone Lake, which is kind of surprising. I thought I thought there would be more YouTube reviews and more, you know, people's thoughts on it and like podcasts, but there wasn't too much out there. Um, so I mean, overall, I was curious to see the movie and and see how it would turn out. So yeah, that's uh that's how I felt about it getting into it. And uh just I guess a warning for our listeners, uh, before we get into Feasting Fiends, I'm sure we will be getting into a lot of sex talk. So if you don't if you don't want to hear three dudes talking about that, I mean you may want to bail now. You can still smash that like button and uh give us a star, whatever the fuck you're listening on. But yeah, so just a heads up, I'm sure we're if you don't want to hear the perspective of three dudes, just a heads up. If you like smashing, then stay tuned. Please do stay tuned. This shows this show is for you. So with without further ado, let's get into feasting things, and that is our round table discussion where we talk about overall pros, cons of the movie, characters, dialogue, and then we finish it off with our favorite kills slash scares. So, Steve, with you giving us Bone Lake, I would like to throw it to you first with your pros. My pros.
SPEAKER_02I like the premise of the two couples in the house uh that I'm always looking for something that's different than the normal horror type stuff that's been been out there lately. And um it it seems like that this wasn't one of those scare, scare, scare, scare, scare type of things. It kind of like it gave me the the wiggies about you know other humans doing bad things to other humans, and it's like, whoa, yeah. I mean, that's it was almost psychological through a good part of the movie of what they were doing to the other couple, and um but then when they started getting into things like oh, let's break into these rooms, um I really kind of was enjoying what they were finding and things like that. I mean, they were almost broadcasting what they were doing, but not doing it uh obvious to the other couple, so um I really enjoyed that part of it. It was kind of a mind game through most of it, and I'm very much into playing with the mind of the person that's watching it. Let's let's make this a psychological one. Like like I mentioned before with the haunting for 1963, it's a it's a psychological thriller, it's not a visual audio type thing. So um that really gets into your head, and that's what I really enjoyed the first part of this movie. Even when it got towards the second half of the movie, it was still getting into that psychological stuff. So um I like I like the scenes. There's one of my favorite um scared the crap out of Sandy when when she saw it because she watched the second time with me this time. Um, but I'll save that for my favorite um kill shot. So awesome.
SPEAKER_04All right, so I'll jump in. So for pros, hell of an opening scene. I mean, uh, we were served a steaming plate of holy shit, like right off the bat. And you know, you had that naked couple running through the forest, and then home homeboy gets the arrow like straight through the nuts. It was surprising and awesome. It's it's uh it's gonna catch your attention and like want you looking for more. So I thought the kickoff, I guess the intro scene you would call it, was was a great way to start this film. The the setting, I guess, the house, I mean the the mansion on the lake really looked amazing. It's crazy that it's an Airbnb, but I I thought that the way they explored the house was also really good because you know when we watched the unnamable, I couldn't make heads or tails of that house that they're in. But I feel like the way they shot and moved around the house, like I could go to that house right now and have like a good idea how to navigate through the rooms. So I thought I thought the setting in the uh the place was awesome. Uh, as well as that, I also really enjoyed the camera work when I think it was the moment when Will was trying to break into the sex room and he was banging on the lock with the meat cleaver. And each time he hit it, you know, we were getting the perspective of the lock, like looking at Will. And every time he hit it, it did like a little quarter turn, quarter turn, quarter turn until like opened. And I think you know, it's very much like the reasons I love Sam Raimi. Whenever other uh cinematographers do that stuff, I really enjoy like there was another moment I think Will or uh not Will, yeah, Will wanted to play chess, and like the camera was going through the chessboard with like all the pieces, and it just really good work. Also, the ending of this so much violence and blood, and I think it was a much needed rise in action from what like we're getting with the rest of this film, so I really love that as well. And the final thing I will say was Sex and Violence by the Exploited came on out of nowhere right in the beginning. And Exploited, for those who don't know, is a punk band from Scotland. And uh I didn't really listen to them too much when I was a kid, but I did I did listen to a few songs, and it was when I was first getting into like punk music. So when I heard that song, it was like nostalgic for me, made me feel like a high schooler again, and uh it was used really well because it came back again later in the film when things were getting heated up and they were starting to chase each other. Like I think it was the battle, the fight scene between uh Sage and Sin uh in the kitchen and exploited sex and violence was playing. So I uh that was cool. It caught me off guard, and I had to I had to throw that out. So good job bringing in a a killer song for this movie. So yeah, those are my pros. Raj, what about you?
SPEAKER_10Well, I was gonna as a man who's gotten a vasectomy, I felt I felt that arrow, arrow uh through the nuts.
SPEAKER_05I'm like, damn.
SPEAKER_10I said that's one way to do it, but uh that is one way to do it. Yeah, yeah. That was the scariest 45 minutes of my life. I almost passed out and and uh it took you 25 minutes? 45, 45 minutes.
SPEAKER_0445 minutes for your vasectomy?
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Mine mine seriously took like 10 minutes.
SPEAKER_10Did it? Mine was 45. Well, I had the one where you have more to work with. They cut you uh, they they cut they cut the tube, then they they put the um uh metal fixings on.
SPEAKER_09Oh, they clamped it, yeah.
SPEAKER_10So the tubes don't ever reattach. So you have to solder those things onto it, then time you up. So it took about 45 minutes and it was scary. But but that arrow when I saw the arrow through nuts, it just reminded me of it. Uh but uh yeah, movie starts off uh fast and quick in your face, you know. I always like that when it just comes out firing. Also, I'm gonna talk something a technical uh with the camera work, the Dolly Zoom. If you want to hit the speckle, uh example of it was when Sage was in the car and the camera, it's it's called also known as the Hitchcock shot, yeah shot, the vertical shot, and also the Jods effect. And they used it twice, I believe. One with Sage in the car when it kind of zooms in, but it keeps her in perspective, it kind of but it keeps also the background perspective, so it gives you that uh visual uh perception. It's like all in your mind and it's like all over the place. So it's pretty that's pretty cool. And they did, I forgot the other thing they'd used it on, but I noticed her right away. I'm like, oh shit, that's the Josh. I would I refer to that as the Josh, yeah, that's uh with Brody on the beach. So um I thought that was really that was cool. I always like those when you when they pop them in. Um is uh I'm gonna talk about my favorite piece of wardrobe, and Eric has it right there on the screen. It's the cargo short. Uh, you know, I'm just respecting it. Diego's cargo shorts, cargo busting out the cargo shorts. I I I I I am like the same way. I got if I'm on vacation, car cargo shorts, baby, all the way, all day long. You know, you can you can put a loose change, wallet, whatever you need in that thing. And you know, they they're always there for you. They've been around since I was in high school. Yeah, I still have several pairs, not from high school, but recently. So never go away. Stay in stay in style, baby.
SPEAKER_04I love I love I love a good cargo short.
SPEAKER_10The versatile cargo short. Thank you, David.
SPEAKER_04I'm wearing I'm wearing a pair now. Hell yeah. Boom. Cargo short brothers. Let's go.
SPEAKER_10That's right. That's right. Also, famously using Napoleon Dynamite, also a good place to store your tear top. Uh another another pro, uh, because I wasn't expecting it, was the secret sex den, as Derek pointed out behind that locked door. Yeah, you know, they uh open it up and just it's just you see all the all the all the dildos and and anal ass ass plugs. I'm like, fuck.
SPEAKER_04Did you see the floppy hand?
SPEAKER_10I'm like, what kind of Airbnb? What kind of Airbnb is this?
SPEAKER_05The hand. Yeah, the hand, the monkey paw, right? That's one way to describe it.
SPEAKER_04Monkey Paul.
SPEAKER_10I was like, Do you have to pay X Gar for the Airbnb for that room?
SPEAKER_04Is like you gotta I mean they dropped a lot of money on that sex room. It was it had it it had perfect lighting. I mean, everything was set up nicely. That sex room probably costs more than my house, to be fair.
SPEAKER_10And we found the other room too, which was the seance room essentially. It has like the the Ouija board, the candles, and the and like the news clippings of all the missing couples. So, but they never really brought that back into play at all. It was kind of just there. And I was like, is this movie gonna be supernatural too in the beginning? I was like, is it gonna go that route?
SPEAKER_04I think it was just like a red herring by then to like make me think there was something going on.
SPEAKER_10But yeah, but they did have the clippings of all their of all their couples that they've murdered and kind of made disappear in the in the bone lake, which we saw, which we see in the opening shot where they kind of of the lake and it goes underwater and you see the cars and the bodies and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, when they're on the dock, yeah.
SPEAKER_10But still, you don't know. You're thinking maybe it is the serial killer, and you don't know maybe it isn't, you know. I didn't know if it's if these couples are gonna be terrorized by someone or if it's one of the couples Harry's and the other. So I had no idea. So it you know, going into it, no way you know, didn't know what's going on there.
SPEAKER_04But to your point, I mean that opening scene, we we see the killer, but they're they're masked up. They have a they have a black ski mask on, so it is a mystery of who this killer is. So, you know, we're thinking it's we you know, some people could be thinking it's an outside person. So yeah, there is there is a lot of like, hmm, who done it, you know? So I agree. Misdirection.
SPEAKER_10Good word. It worked, it worked. But I also I was telling Lisa with the names of the characters of the women, Sage and Cinnamon. Then I saw the Ouija board, and I thought I thought it was at some point supernatural because Sage and Cinnamon is part of like um it's like using like like the wit, like the Wiccan, like witch culture, like sage you like sage your house, and cinnamon is part of like the herbs, and you can do like you know, good feelings. So I thought they're gonna play it with the names of the characters, but it never came in effect.
SPEAKER_04So I was like, ah well, I mean But I mean, with uh you know sin and will, I mean, it's will sin. So I mean that's what they're they're banking on these people sinning and committing adultery for their game.
SPEAKER_10Nice play. Nice play. Nice play there, Derek. I didn't even think about that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, uh, there you go.
SPEAKER_02My mind went totally different.
SPEAKER_04I thought spice girls was there ginger with is ginger in the house.
SPEAKER_02Oh, ginger wasn't there. Sorry. Uh just cinnamon and sage.
SPEAKER_10No one no one no one no one had red hair as well, so there is no actual ginger in this movie.
SPEAKER_04They're they're on the spice girls B team, cinnamon and sage. They didn't make the A team.
SPEAKER_10Well, the movie, the movie sure gets spicy, though. Oh yeah. It sure does. Every it goes, uh it earns its R rating. But uh that's my that's my pros of the movie. Uh quick little tidbits, but I really like those uh zoom shots. That's where it if it would have been better if you would have cued that camera zoom now, as I said it. The hand in that we had but it's okay. It's okay. Oh yes. There it is. Look at that dolly zoom right there. Perfect. Thank you. There we go.
SPEAKER_05There you go. I don't have that luchery. Uh mine doesn't work. For those watching on YouTube, we're playing games.
SPEAKER_04All right, so let's let's move on to cons. Uh Steve, uh, what did you not not like so much about this film?
SPEAKER_02Um it I didn't have a lot of bad things. I mean, it did get kind of slow when the couples were just trying to figure each other out. Um the whole thing about his book and this and that, and meeting this author, and oh, that's great, and all that other stuff. I thought that was it was it part of the storyline, I get that, but it just it starts it it was that dip in the movie. I mean, not every movie is you know brings you up to the you know ultra excitement and and leaves that intensity through the whole movie. There's very few movies that could do that. So when when that started coming up, it was for me kind of a dip. It's like, let's get into some more stuff here, let's see what this couple really got. So um but I you know I read that as a um okay, that this couple is really trying to scam these guys type of thing. And it was like, okay, but let's let's see what else this is gonna do, because uh this couple is uh they're scammers and stuff of that nature. Um, but I didn't expect anything that came up later on um to to be happening and stuff, and uh so that that's about the only con that I really had with it was that dip in the in the film. So that's about the only thing I I felt that was a con.
SPEAKER_04No, that's uh that is definitely fair. Uh but uh I'll jump in with my con or cons. Um but yeah, to what Steve said, uh I thought uh there was too much of like a couple drama going on. And I do love like the cat and mouse games and horror films, but I wish that the violence and the chasing didn't take so long to get to. And it is crazy that like the beginning was so insane, and then the rest of the movie was this was like mild until we got to the end. And like I under I understand that like we only have four characters, and there are not a lot of people to kill, but um we just kept getting beat over the head with how like naive and Diego and uh Sage were, and how evil and manipulative Sin and Will were. So I was just I felt like it was getting a little repetitive with like the different examples coming up, and I was just I was ready to move on and and and feel some tension in this movie, but uh I also did find the lack of communication between Sage and Diego, like in the beginning and middle of this film, kind of frustrating because I I know like whenever something weird happens, like the first or like something like crazy, I have to talk to Carrie. So, like my significant other is the first person I think of, and like I can't wait to tell her about like everything crazy. So, like the fact that each of them has a weird interaction with the other couple, and they say nothing about them to each other just seems like odd for two poopy two people who we we ultimately ultimately do find out they care and love for each other, so that is there, but it's just so odd their communication skills, and and obviously we see throughout this movie that they have their issues, but um, I just thought it was crazy. Like, I know if some lady was asking me to pick out panties for her, first of all, I wouldn't do it, and then I would go straight to be like you you can't believe what this fucking lady just asked me to do. We need to fucking leave.
SPEAKER_10Good you're a good man, Derek. You're a good man, but it I believe you said poopy before people as well.
SPEAKER_04That's probably that well, there you go. That's that's my that's my thoughts on people who want me to pick out their panties, they're poo-poo.
SPEAKER_10But it's almost like I was gonna say, is that the will and sin were almost it's like foreplay for them when they're like oh yeah, screwing with these people because they get like hot and horny or for each other as like they psychologically mess these people, so it's almost like they're trying to turn themselves on, like they're just it's like it's like a dance, like this this is all foreplay, and they and we get the climax at the end, yeah, with the all the violence that you're saying.
SPEAKER_04But even even to your point, I mean they're all about games. I mean, throughout this movie, they're like, let's play a game, and like I don't mind.
SPEAKER_10Give me some give me some saw vibes. It's like you want to play a game.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and like even Will is like taunting uh Diego and like saying, like he keeps asking him to like why don't you want to play a game and stuff. So uh and and the last thing that is a con for me, and it's kind of a nitpick, but the battery-operated chainsaw that Will grabs. Um, I love a good chainsaw in a movie. We have Evil Dead, we got Texas Chainsaw Massacre, um, all these great movies with chainsaws, Clowns in a Cornfield. I don't know if either of you guys saw that movie.
SPEAKER_10I tried, I tried watching it. I didn't, I got out halfway through fell asleep. Never went back to it.
SPEAKER_04I wouldn't I wouldn't bother. Uh so the whole fun aspect of using chainsaws in our horror films is that we get the pull cord. You know, we get the guy pissed or whoever pissed, just like ripping at the at the pull cord to start this thing. Not Will, he just grabs like an 18-volt battery, slaps it in it, and goes. It sounds like a it sounds like a a turkey carver.
SPEAKER_02So he's trying to be in he's trying to be environmentally correct. So uh I think the movies have uh progressed now to where we're being more environmentally conscious. So that was Will at that point slapping the battery in and going, you know, it's like, oh, okay, you know, I've still use I'm still using power pools at the house here.
SPEAKER_04So it's it did eventually go dead on him.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, just took some work.
SPEAKER_10I have a battery-powered lawnmower, man. That thing rips, that thing rips through grass like it's gas. It's it's so powerful, it's 40 volt. And uh got from um Home Depot, Ryobi. Um uh they're they're their best, they're their top model, and the thing works so good. I highly recommend it.
SPEAKER_04Not only are we cargo shorts brothers, but we're also Ryobi lawn equipment as well.
SPEAKER_10In the garage, the plus part of all that Dewalt guy, yeah. DeWalt guy. The garage doesn't smell like gas. Yeah. Is one of the main like best things about these because I don't have like a shed, so I put everything in the in the garage. I used to keep my gas-powered stuff in the garage. In the garage, I always smell like gas or oil, but with the electric, which I have everything electric out there, it you know, you don't you don't get that. You just gotta just keep your batteries charged and they they keep a good charge.
SPEAKER_04You know, in my personal life, I I use battery operated uh equipment, but for my horror films, I'm gonna see I'm gonna see the guy pull the cord. I want to see the startup. So yeah, uh, that's my nitpick, and those are my cons. So uh Roger, what about
SPEAKER_10You so my con is that you know I'm gonna talk about Say's sexual frustration is that she just never I just felt bad for her because she never got hers, you know, the entire movie. And uh until the until until the ending where she got some revenge, and I'm gonna say that's where she got hers. And um in a way, because the whole claim. Yeah, the whole movie she's and uh there's a scene in the bathtub where she's trying just like say fuck it, I'll do it myself because uh Diego can't do it. And they're having their strain in the relationship with the stress of the of he quit his job, now she's a lone financial supporter of the family, and it's all on her shoulders. You know, she looks at him a little differently, and and and she's just not as happ not happy, I would say. So um, you know, she and I felt bad for her. I was like, man, she just wants, she just wants hers, man. Just let her get it, you know. And she and she's for the whole movie she tries and doesn't get there until the I want to say till the end, and she takes out her revenge of all that frustration out on uh our dear friend Will. And we'll talk about that when we get to our favorite kill scenes. Um also alert con to the characters, they're just kept awake by the crazy sex noises coming from Will and Simon's room, which at this time we don't find out their relationship, you know, oh my god, yeah, things to their characters. So you're like, oh, but I but I've had that happen to me before, and that's what that's what I wrote down here is uh I I I lived in an apartment building, just two floors, way back in the day when um I was with before I was married the first time, but we broke up for like a month. I moved out and I got this place, and I was on floor one, and like it was two in the morning, and all of a sudden it was just here squeaky, squeaky, squeaky, squeaky.
SPEAKER_09Oh yeah, oh yeah, I'm gonna be harder, oh god, yeah.
SPEAKER_10I was like, what the hell's going on? Because the the wall, the walls and the floors are so thin in that apartment. And the next day I came back from work and they're they're sitting outside, and I I couldn't let it be like if you only know, and I had to get up and go to the living room and sleep on the couch where it wasn't as noisy.
SPEAKER_06Oh wow, yeah.
SPEAKER_10But I I felt their pain in the movie. I was like, kept awake, you're trying to just try and get a good night's sleep, and you know, people are doing the thing, which is fine, but you know, you gotta be a little respectful, especially if like you're at a hotel or something like that. You gotta next room, you know, people just trying to get their trying to get their beauty sleep.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Carrie and I were at spooky one year, and we were I don't know, I remember Carrie was woken up, but I was I was woken up by our uh we were sharing a wall wall with some people, and uh the headboard was was banging and there were noises being thrown out, and I was like, holy shit. I was like spooky empire, let's go. Like, I just want to sleep. Yeah, I'm trying to get my Robert England picture in the morning and my beauty sleep. But uh, but yeah, so that sucks.
SPEAKER_10Another con, you gotta make sure you keep your electric car plugged in because you know, and then and that's one of the things that have kept me like, do I want an electric car or not electric car? Because I'm like, what if I'm just driving and just like I forgot to plug it in, or I just lose all electricity. And you're kind of like, you can pass all the gas stations you want, but if you can't find a charger, you're kind of screwed. And uh, I know it got unplugged without them knowing, but I was like, you know, if you just had gas, baby, you know, you could have got it out of there, but um, it's all good. And my very last one, my biggest con of this entire movie, I'm gonna go to the kill of of Will uh pre-chainsaw with the axe, right? I mean, we're gonna talk about this in a bit.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we'll go and tell it.
SPEAKER_10The fact that they didn't give Sage a one-liner, such as axe to see you, or something about a splitting headache as she is hitting him in the head with an axe, was one of my biggest cons and misses of this movie. I'm like, come on, baby, give her a one, give her a good one-liner.
SPEAKER_02That was my one-liner when we were watching it. Is it I have a question to axe you and see?
SPEAKER_04I'm not alone. What if to your point before, Roger, she just said, I came.
SPEAKER_10So so I was hoping they would have some type of goofy over-the-top one-liner as she as she's about to do it, but I I didn't get it. But um, other but other than that, uh, that was it. Awesome. My cons.
SPEAKER_04Those are cons. All right, so guys, let's move on into characters. Steve, take it away. What do you think about characters?
SPEAKER_02Characters. Um Diego to me was like I I don't know, I wasn't a big thrill of Diego. I I kind of liked the interaction between Sage and Will. Um what was going on there. He was really playing her and really trying to convince her to go through with something that uh Will was just you know lying through his teeth on. Diego was not gonna have it with cinnamon. Um he was just like, you know, nope, I'm not gonna do it. But the interaction with Sage I liked, uh her really trying to deal with the frustrations with Diego. Um uh Will was was seemed like the consummate con artist uh type of type of guy that that you really can't trust. Cinnamon, I think, just kind of went along with him, but I I liked the character of Will and uh and Sage as far as uh their interactions with stuff and how they worked well together in the film. But those are those are my two characters that I really enjoyed. I mean uh save for the guy in the first scene that got his um piercing done. Um yeah, um you know those those are my two characters.
SPEAKER_04So nice. For me overall, uh the characters were kind of like a roller coaster, uh, because in the beginning, like I I hated all of them. And but as it went, they became much more intriguing because I saw that they're like more layered than what I had them pinned for. And I actually at the end I kind of liked all of their journeys and where we ended up with them. But uh, I will just say, you know, on on Sage, she was the first one between her and Diego to express suspicion towards Sin and Will. So I guess in that manner, she is the most smart and aware of the two couples. I think Diego may have been blinded by the fact that these these people could get his uh his book read by oh, I forget his favorite author's name, but I know that was like a big thing that like kept him around and kept him essentially trusting these two. Um other than that, um, I think Sage may want to get checked for gingivitis. Um, I don't think you should bleed that much when you're flossing your teeth.
SPEAKER_10Um, I've been flossing, Derek.
SPEAKER_04No, clearly, this was her first time in her fucking life, I guess. But she needs to go to a dentist and get that checked out. Um and then other than that, with Sage, uh she vapes, so that's a little yucky. So minus half a point for Sage.
SPEAKER_10The I just want to know that Little Bracket is a horrid podcast, uh, wants to make sure you everyone has good dental hygiene, and they should definitely seek your dentist when you can.
SPEAKER_04I uh I have a cleaning coming up in a month. So my dentist is booked out, so I had to book out a month from. So I'll be going there soon.
SPEAKER_10I get mine every mine's every six months, Derek. Mine's next month as well, September.
SPEAKER_04Hey, oh, we're both going September. Nice. Take pictures, post cargo shorts. Yep.
SPEAKER_10Dennis, what else? Ryobi, Ryobi, Ryobi, high five. Ryobi teeth clean.
SPEAKER_04Right, there we go. Over here, Derek over here. High five over here. Look at my face.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_10Oh, I might not be I might not be next to you on you're next to me on my box. So if you want to build your direction, you hit me.
SPEAKER_02In my box, in my box, I'm seeing this. I'm seeing this.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we're all stacked. We're all stacked in mine.
SPEAKER_10If a hand came into my camera, I would be really freaked out right now. Like, what?
SPEAKER_04Who dad? Who dad? Exactly. Uh, but for my worst, um, it is Diego. He is a total pushover. I mean, that part where we where Will steals his family ring that he knew you were planning to propose to Sage with, and he starts proposing to Sin, like right in front of you, and you let him finish before asking him to fucking step away to chat. Like, fuck that. Um, Will would have made it to like the second sentence, and there just would have been furniture thrown in him, like table, face, chair, face, ottoman, face. Like, I I would have lost my shit. And he's just insanely passive. And like, I'm a passive person too, and like I can understand, but like, holy shit, where is your line at until you react? Like, that is crazy. Other than that, with him, uh, I'm not a fan of his stance on sex toys uh for Sage. I found him a little selfish and he wasn't being receptive to his girl.
SPEAKER_10I say he's a little he's a little prudish.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I agree.
SPEAKER_10I write that down. I agree with you.
SPEAKER_04And much to Roger's point, you know, I don't blame Sage for sneaking off for a little self-pleasure in the tub. Like, I get it. Like, you're communicating with your partner about what you need, and they are just so firm in their stance, and you know, you're trying to open up and you're just getting a door shut in your face. So I didn't like that about Diego either.
SPEAKER_10Um just a missionary man, that's it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, really. I'll I'll talk about Will and Sin real quick. I just I combine them as one, and they're just like the little fuckers through the film.
SPEAKER_10That's in a way, in a way, Derek, they are.
SPEAKER_04I know, I know, but they're doing everything in their power to plant those seeds of doubt, like uh, like Steve was said. And I the thing that was crazy for me was uh Will's first conversation with um uh with Diego is about how everyone wants to fuck sin. And I think that's a pretty bold and presumptuous first conversation with a stranger.
SPEAKER_10I thought that was crazy. Well, the I remember you said the same thing to me about Carrie. I was like, man, everyone wants to fuck my wife. You are like I know, dude. Me too.
SPEAKER_04You are breaking bro code, man. You're not supposed to, you're not supposed to let that out. You're breaking bro code. We're just joking, Carrie. That didn't happen. But uh yeah, so with with them being just the little shit stirs, you know, and it was fun, they're deaths at the end, so they're they're pretty enjoyable characters. But yeah, that was my thoughts. What about you, Roger?
SPEAKER_10Well, I'm gonna say that Simon, she is a liker of big dicks because we get we see the inside her um bag, her little suitcase. There are a lot of um oh, I missed that. You didn't notice all the glass when she he was looking for her uh that montage, I missed it. Yeah, and she he she he picks up the uh suitcase, and you see it's just on top is like her glass dildo collections, like two or three of them.
SPEAKER_04That's kind of crazy to me. Glass dildo collections.
SPEAKER_10Well, they were dish they're dishwasher safe, Derek. So it's very hygienic for the female um pleasuring.
SPEAKER_04I mean, technology's come a long way in pleasure tools that you can but everything. I use I use uh furniture polish, but go out.
SPEAKER_10But uh I made a play that um she likes big dicks and Will is a big dick. So I think that's the attraction. So she likes big dicks and she's her boyfriend or partner is a big dick.
SPEAKER_04When she's talking to uh Sage when they're like talking about their significant other, she says, you know, that uh um Diego seems so safe, but Will is not, so he's a dick. He's very he's a roller coaster ride. So there you go coaster of love.
SPEAKER_09Roller coaster.
SPEAKER_04We will not be referencing red hot chili peppers on this podcast. This is this is an anti-Red Hot Chili Peppers podcast.
SPEAKER_10Nothing but nothing but hate hot chili peppers, but they're both master manipulators, and I got this feeling when I every time I saw Will on screen, uh because I'm one of my one of my things I like to do is is determine who like people look like if you cross this person with this person. So Will, see if you have see if I'm in the right ball, at least I agree with me. If you took Zach Efron and Dave Franco, oh yeah, and they had a baby, it would look like him. And uh, because he has like the Franco eyebrows with these Efron face structure and chin and all that. So I was like, that's what that's that's the vibes I got with with Will.
SPEAKER_02I I thought it was Zach Efron at first, but uh look it up. I'm like, yeah, okay, that's not him.
SPEAKER_10So look up look up picture of Dave Franco and Zach Efron and just kind of overlap them, and you get Will's Will's face. Uh but um Diego, I agree, is a little prudish, too forgiving. Um, even when we later find out that Save cheated on Diego uh as well, and because they uh she gets pissed when it like he talks about it, and um, you know, he definitely is forgiving, uh forgiving too forgiving to her. She kind of like almost get he likes to get walked on a little bit in a way, never it doesn't stick up for himself, like with the ring. I agree. I'd say the same thing at Lisa. If someone took my ring and started proposing to a girlfriend with it, I would have been like, uh, no motherfucker, that's my ring, and especially if it's in a family heirloom, and um I would stop it right then there. Even even if it ruined my my engagement, spot on, yeah. I wouldn't care.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that I would tell Sage, listen, I was gonna do this, it's obviously gonna happen another fucking time, but that is my ring, and we're getting it, and we're leaving right now.
SPEAKER_10Mm-hmm. And I'm like, Diego, learn how to please your lady because uh if you can do that, that marriage, even if you want to marry her, she gonna either gonna say no or ain't gonna last. And I think she was having doubts too if she would even say yes if at in the beginning of the movie, yeah, when they're having their going through their woes, because we really know about their woes and as it until the movie goes on and we explore because they seem like a happy couple in the very you know the first bit of the movie, and and just you learn that they're not, and um outside appearance can be deceiving uh until they're behind closed doors. Uh and sage, she is wanted, man. She's trying to get hers entire movie, gets it at the end, like I was saying, and she loves loves her sex toys, and that's fine. That's fine. Love a good sex toy, use it. She wrote an article on him.
SPEAKER_04I mean, and then to deny deny your partner that when they clearly are into it and they they write articles on it. I mean, son of a bitch.
SPEAKER_10But this week, the weekend they're at, probably the best counseling they they they've gotten. So and I said this uh to Lisa, I was like, the idea of Will and Simon was to kind of play their game and try to see like you know, this is where the couples always fail or or or whatnot, but they passed and they came out stronger and tighter, I think, as a couple, and they got past their differences. So whatever Will and Simm were trying to do actually worked, uh, just not into their favor by the end of the movie. But um, yeah, that's it. We mean the characters.
SPEAKER_04Awesome. All right, so guys, let's move into uh dialogue. Uh Steve, any lines you liked or dialogue?
SPEAKER_02I think part of my my favorite one, and it was like uh it was a tense moment between Will and Sage when things were escalating. She had the axe and Will was taunting her about here, I'll give you first first first hit. Do it, do it, you know you want to do it. And and I thought that that that that interaction between the two. I was I was rooting for her, uh, but she just didn't come through. But I still like the interaction between the two characters, and then I thought when he turned around that was going to be her chance, but then he turned back around towards her before she had that chance and and said, I'll give you a second chance. And that whole interaction, and it was just oh, and then the letdown from it, but I still like the interaction between the two. Uh the conversation, she didn't say much. Will was mostly the talker in it, but I just love that whole thing with the two of them. I just that scene was really good. Um not much as far as I mean as dialogue goes. I mean, there wasn't any any catchy sayings or anything else. I was interjecting my own stuff because you know, sometimes I like to riff a movie. Um but um yeah, that was the that was the only one as far as the interaction between the characters, as far as the dialogue goes, Will was just just relentless at taunting her to do it. Come on, you know you want to do it. You know, let's see how much are you are you willing to kill for Will for Diego? And you know, it's like and um you could almost see it, she's rattling it through her head and stuff, and you know, like I said, she didn't say anything, but Will's talking and stuff I thought was just really good um to to kind of build that tension up a little bit, and it and I think it worked there at that particular scene.
SPEAKER_04So that's about all I have. Roger, what about you? Did you have any dialogue?
SPEAKER_10I got one, and go for it. You accidentally turned in thinking this is a little Ean of Horrors with your children, please earmuff them right now, because this one this one's a little risque, but it was uh one that stood out with me because not really too much dialogue really stood out because again, they didn't have the cool die the cool one-liner. Well, the way the movie started out with the arrow through the nuts kind of reminiscent, so kind of like my background a little bit. Um uh because they couldn't show that on a poster, of course. But uh I thought it was gonna be a little campy and bit like it gave me vibes of um what's the one that came out last year for Valentine's Day? Oh, in the first five minutes, it gave me hard eye vibes. So I thought the movie was gonna be kind of like that with like a little camp, a little cool dialogue, you know, dialogue y like light act, like lighthearted, and just a lot of fun. Then it got real serious, but the dialogue never really came out. It was more serious than all that, so there's nothing really like kind of stood up. But Steve, like was Steve said, there's you know, they and what we said earlier, they could have could have had some cool like acts too, you know, acts in that, but that we didn't get any of that. But anyways, the one dialogue part that did stare out and uh stand out. So you're must for children for this one is when Will goes to Diego when they're uh I bet my cum is still inside here, Diego. And uh gross. So that stood out to me. I was like, whoa, there we go. But if someone said that to me and threatened to have relations with my significant other uh Lisa, I would they would have got the swift five-finger death punch.
SPEAKER_04Oh Jesus. We're also not a stamp for five-finger death punch.
SPEAKER_10Or uh, you know, you know, I would ask for my nickel back. Uh but um Jesus. What what uh but uh they would have got it, they would have got it. Um right to the he would have got right to the face.
SPEAKER_04Coming with the tattoos. No, but straight up like, yeah, that is infuriating. You know, whether you believe that or not, but someone just saying that about your partner is extremely disrespectful, especially if it didn't happen. I'm like, this guy already stole it.
SPEAKER_10This guy stole your ring to somebody else saying he just banged your chick and he still didn't beat his ass. Come on, Diego.
SPEAKER_04No, he's just like I said, he was just way too passive, but but that's it, that's the dialogue that stood out for me. All right, so I I will jump in with mine, but uh this is the scene after the couples decide to like share the mansion for the weekend, and Sage and Sin are like getting to know each other and hanging out, and they're just talking about their relationships. And um Sage just uh she asks Sin uh, how long have you guys been together? And Sin says, I don't know, I feel like we've known each other our whole lives. We've officially been a couple for eight years, but we've known each other since we were kids. And Sage says, Oh, that's so cute. And then Sin responds with it's really romantic, but it's not without its drama. Our parents were really close, so it was a shock to everyone when we hooked up. And what we find out with this film, the second time I watched this, I was hollering at this uh little dialogue moment. So, you know, obviously we find out that uh this brother and sister and incestuous killers are will and sin. And uh that line when I went through the second time, just it it shot out at me, and I was like, Oh my gosh, talk about uh foreshadowing, right?
SPEAKER_10Well, the movie does it does take place in Georgia, so you know oh it was it was filmed in Atlanta, right? Yeah, it was uh no I somewhere I think right outside Atlanta, yeah, somewhere in that area. So yeah, it fits.
SPEAKER_04But uh yeah, so that's uh that was my favorite piece of dialogue. So next up, guys, is moving into but go ahead, Roger.
SPEAKER_10Real quick, I just wanted to say under Kant, I did have incest uh written, but I don't want to give it away so early. So uh just so we know we don't support incestual relationships here on Little Bracket Horrors. No, uh or weird relations with your brother and sister. I have three sisters. I have never ever for one minute or thought, damn.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I have I have four older brothers, so I I've never I've never looked at them in that way, but um I will say that just as much as this podcast is not a fan of red hot chili peppers, it is also not a fan of incest.
SPEAKER_10So I just didn't I just didn't want to give it away, give it away now. So early on under the cons, but it's okay. But that's all water uh uh uh under the bridge.
SPEAKER_04Damn it. I didn't know you had red hot chili pepper puns. That was pretty sick. Good job. All right, so guys, yeah, let's get into our favorite kills slash scares. Uh so Steve, uh, take it away. You got first.
SPEAKER_02Um, I I have two. My my first one was the one that uh we have already talked about the scrotum piercing uh that happened to the gentleman in the first part of the movie. Uh Sandy didn't watch this with me the first time I watched it, but she watched it this time. And when that arrow uh hit home, she jumped. I mean, that was a good jump scare for her. She's like, Did you see that?
SPEAKER_08Did you what the hell?
SPEAKER_02Um, what are we watching? Absolutely stage. Absolutely amazing. Well, she was sitting there watching it with me. She wasn't like doing things around the house and just happened to catch that scene. She was sitting there watching. That was the the one that really kind of woke her up a little bit. Umite kill though was uh Will going after uh Diego with the how the battery operated chainsaw.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And um, and the first time I saw it, I did not see it comf coming. And then she made some sort of remark um behind Will. And then just and he didn't even have time to react. She just planted that axe in the back of his head. And I thought, all right, you know, that was that moment that you've been waiting for for her to to get back at this tuple. And uh, but then he when he fell forward, he fell on the chainsaw and then burned the battery up, just you know and then and then um sage sitting there just getting covered in blood. Yes, so much blood. Like a Quentin Tarantino scene, you know, just getting covered in blood. And then she remained that that crimson color through the rest of the film. But that was my favorite, my favorite kill scene through the whole uh through the entire film, uh, was was when she got her finally got her gumption up to whack him with that axe. And uh I just loved that scene.
SPEAKER_10So yeah, he he definitely ate it in that scene for sure. He he did he did get her he did get his DNA inside here after all.
SPEAKER_04At least one. A different type of fluid, but yes, one in the same. One and the same. Uh Roger, what about you? Kills a few.
SPEAKER_10I I I like the one, the Will, the Will one, of course, where he falls on the especially when he falls on the chainsaw and just gets his face ripped off, uh cut through. I wasn't expecting that. I was like, oh here we go. Here that that's a good that was a good kill. And it looked really good. And um the other one that's a propeller to the face of uh dear girl.
SPEAKER_05Yep.
SPEAKER_10Dear girl's thin. He took her took her right square on the chin, and uh not just once but twice. Uh yeah, she got she got her uh chin whacked off with the axe, then propellers right to the face and figuratively, yes.
SPEAKER_04She got her.
SPEAKER_10So now she is part of the bone lake.
SPEAKER_04She's got some bones in that lake now, too. I mean, sin's whole I mean the annihilation of Sin was enjoyable. I mean, first she gets the she gets the glass jar to the face, and then she gets stabbed through the foot in the dock, and then you know, uh Diego takes the axe to her fucking jaw, knocks it clean off, and you know, and then the propeller to the face. I mean, she she got she got the most work done to her physically as far as uh kills. But yeah, sin's was really good too.
SPEAKER_02I I would love to know whether the the jaw scene was a practical effect or a CGI effect. Oh, that's good. It looked really, really good. I mean, she's sitting there with no jaw on her face, and I'm like, wow, that's that's some good work if it's practical. I mean, it just looks so real. Yeah, it did look really good.
SPEAKER_04Um, but I I mean there's not really a lot of scares in this movie, but uh oh oh I got one more scene.
SPEAKER_10Oh, I'm gonna uh there's a I just threw it in here. There's a good jump cut uh from oh yeah, I forget the to Will eating the sausage. I forget what what jump what did it jump from?
SPEAKER_04So um Will was outside in the shack.
SPEAKER_10Oh naked will oh yeah from naked will to Diego eating the sausage. I've I like that. I've I was I always like the jump cuts like that. It's like yeah.
SPEAKER_04They had a couple really good cuts, like uh so that the beginning couple in in the start of the film that gets killed, and then after they get killed, they put them in on this like display, almost like this artistic display with their you know slain bodies like laying on top of each other, and then they cut to a painting in one of the rooms that is like the people in the paintings are in the same uh same positions as the deceased couple. So there were a lot of like, and that's where I was talking about the camera work. There's a lot of cool cuts, like you said, and yeah, um, those were sprinkled throughout the movie, so definitely.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, it made me want breakfast.
unknownI mean, damn.
SPEAKER_10I could I could you I could go for a plate of uh meat right now, some ham, some sausage.
SPEAKER_04Was it the first scene of Will Naked or the scene of Diego eating a sausage that made you that is gonna be up to your interpretation, Derek?
SPEAKER_10All right, well, I'm gonna take a look at a way for sure. Sausage does sound pretty good right now.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Um but I so you know we talked about the kills right now, but I do there was one jump scare. I don't know if you guys caught this, but uh it was in the beginning when Sage and Diego like first got to the house and Will and Sin hadn't showed up yet, and she was putting away groceries, and we see like this quick flash of like something running past the camera. And I know my heart started racing, and then Sage goes to close the uh the fridge door and bam naked Diego. Terrifying, terrifying, yeah, and she did she did uh set up a business meeting with him, so that was nice on the on the bear skin rug or whatever.
SPEAKER_10So unknowingly being filmed.
SPEAKER_04So what started off as a scare really you know turned into a positive. Well, for somebody for for Diego, yeah.
SPEAKER_10That selfish man, you know, she she faked it. She's like, Yeah, I got it. I know, I know. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I'm there, I'm there. I know, I know. Rest in peace, uh Sage's climax.
SPEAKER_10We can't we can't do that as men. We can't do that yet. I got it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Where is it? Where is it? Yeah, we have physical evidence of it. It doesn't just dissipate, it doesn't evaporate. You gotta give it some time.
SPEAKER_10You gotta let it if Ian is still listening to this episode, I was gonna say I'm pretty sure I'm banning him from this episode. Turn off, go to sleep, Ian.
SPEAKER_04He is probably banned from this episode.
SPEAKER_10You should put a plus 18 rating, 18 plus rating on the episode, not NFSW or whatever that's not safe for work not safe for work.
SPEAKER_04NSFW, yeah. Uh it's funny, I I gave the little warning at the beginning of people don't know don't want to hear dudes talking about sex, but I should have gave it gave a warning to tell Ian to turn this off. So I'll uh I'll have to edit that in, I guess. Uh so yeah, that that takes us through our kills. Uh guys, next up is Final Cut. And this is where I revealed a shocking ending of the film, and we discuss and give our ratings of one to five stabs. One stab, no redeeming value, two stabs bad, three stabs mediocre, four stabs good, five stabs masterpiece. Sage and Diego awakened in a house bound with duct tape. Will and sin reveal that they are in fact Thomas and Alice Price, siblings of a prosperous publishing family. They reveal that while teenagers, the siblings began an incestuous relationship and murdered their parents when they discovered it. The two have since terrorized six different couples in their family estate, putting them through psychological mind games and testing the strength of their relationships before killing them. Sin gets all hot and bothered by the vibes and pulls Will into the other room to be gross. So Sage and Diego attempt to flee. Soon Sage is pursued by Sin, brandishing a butcher's knife. Sage manages to strike Sin with a glass jar, cutting her face. Escaping and alarm and arming herself with an axe, Sage is then confronted by Will, who challenges her to strike him in the head before taking control of the axe. Meanwhile, Diego hides under the boat dock, where he stabs Sin through the foot, trapping her to the dock. Will, now armed with an electric chainsaw, attempts to kill Diego, but Sage strikes him through the head with an axe, killing him instantly. Without, you know, and and then falling on the chainsaw and the blood in the face and all that fun stuff. Sage and Diego attempt to flee on a boat, but Sin boards the vessel and attacks them. Diego strikes Sin with the axe and dismembers her fingers before she falls into the water and gets her hair caught in the propeller. Sage reverses a boat, engages the propeller, and kills Sin. Later, while floating on the lake, Diego removes his grandmother's ring from Sin's dismembered finger and places it on Sage's finger. The two begin to laugh hysterically before staring off into silence.
SPEAKER_10The eh I just want to point out that Sin got a literal motorboat. She did.
SPEAKER_04She was trying to motorboat Sage in the water, but she she much later would get her motorboat. You're correct. How very astute of you, Roger.
SPEAKER_10I just want to point it out.
SPEAKER_04Good good point. Good point.
SPEAKER_10I forgot to do it earlier when I was talking.
SPEAKER_05It's in your notes to say motorboat, so you put it in there.
SPEAKER_10You don't even want to know what's written in front of me. Sometimes I say the stuff, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I can't even read it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05That's true, as we know, as we know.
SPEAKER_04Not today.
SPEAKER_10I made sure. I made sure everyone was writing this really really neatly. Yeah. So I can read it.
SPEAKER_04We're gonna have to get you that paper, that uh grade school paper that has the oh, it's doing it again.
SPEAKER_10Nice shot.
SPEAKER_04I know, but we'll have to get you the paper that's got the two solid lines and a dotted line in it, so you can write the letters nicely and get it nice and presentable for yourself. But yeah, uh, so that was the end of the film. What did you guys think about the ending? Steve, I'll I'll throw it to you first.
SPEAKER_02Uh I actually like the ending. I was kind of waiting through the whole movie after the first opening scene of the film to get to get those uh those bloody Burroughs kills in. And like I mentioned earlier, the amount of blood was almost Quentin Tarantino-ish. Um Quentin's been known for the use of blood as a comedy item. And um this this didn't disappoint in that aspect. I mean, it was almost I was cheering Sage and Diego on uh to to come out of this on the upper side. And um uh I think they got what they uh that Will and Sin got what they deserved uh for doing this to them. They found a couple that was much stronger than they were, so uh they persevered through the film. So I I really loved the ending of it. I love the interaction between the characters. Um sitting there with her foot impaled onto the dock was great. I mean, she was like, you know, what do I do? What do I do? It's like pull your foot up.
SPEAKER_04I mean, it was yeah, we didn't get to see that. She disappeared, but yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, what are you gonna do? Yeah, um yeah, yeah. So yeah, it was it was all kinds of things. Where where did Sin go? And then she shows up when they're on the boat and things of that nature. I just I like the ending of this. It kind of culminated in what I thought was gonna be happening from the beginning shot. Um when we finally figured out that yeah, that Will and Sin were the two that were doing stuff that um uh we're now gonna get that confrontation, and that was what I was kind of hoping for.
SPEAKER_04So yeah. Nice. Roger, what'd you what did you think about the ending?
SPEAKER_10All right. So I like the ending. I was really it it's like the move Steve was saying earlier, uh, it's a slow burn of a movie outside the first five minutes, and you build up and you get and you just get that good climax baby at the end, you get all the kills, blood, the good stuff. But I like the way it ended, and the way the fact that um now Diego and Sage are now trauma bonded, and uh and where Cinnamon and uh Will tore apart couples with trauma and drama. Um but it's backfired, but it backfired where the trauma actually brought them together at the very end. And and even though they're staring out into darkness and kind of just realizing what just happened and and and and probably the years of therapy that they'll need is that now they know that no matter what, they're gonna be together regardless um if they want to be or not, because situations like that would think would you know you gotta have each other because if you know if you don't, you're gonna talk about this with you know who who who you know, you're you know, so but also eventually at the end.
SPEAKER_04What's that but but also like at the end part to talk about like you know opening up to each other. I mean, that scene where they were like breaking out of the duct top of duct tape and like trying to run away is when uh sage openly told Diego, she was just like, I've been faking my climaxes. And like he was he listened in that moment. He's like, I thought you might have been doing it, and he's and he said he was sorry. So like they already at the end were communicating better than they did throughout this whole movie. So, you know, to go through something like that and be like, we have to open up, we can't be not communicating to each other. Absolutely, to your point. Uh, you know, it it's uh it's a little feather in the cap, I guess, for this movie.
SPEAKER_10But but shout out to um TikTok and uh the tutorials of how to break out of duct tape. So watching those reels, you know, late at night. You know, if your lady's next to you and she's scrolling like mine does, you know, sometimes that might save your life. You never know what you see. But ultimately at the end, uh Simmons and Will will see each other on the other side.
SPEAKER_04Oh, tying it into this podcast, and another that's also a bread hot chili pepper song. On the other side.
SPEAKER_10That's what held my note. I remember it right there.
SPEAKER_04It's been subliminal this whole time. I didn't even fucking know it.
SPEAKER_10I'm just trying to throw it in there with song titles where I can. Either you'll you'll recognize it or not. So ha ha ha.
SPEAKER_04Anthony Kitas, watch your back. That's all I gotta say.
SPEAKER_02Roger's like the gold member of music. The village people 1982.
SPEAKER_04Little Rain Man. Uh, so for myself on this movie, uh, I thought the ending was very interesting. I liked I liked that I could not figure out like Will and Sin and that there would be siblings. Like that was crazy. Like I didn't pin that at all. I I figured that they were the ones that were the killers, but the reveal of them being siblings was just crazy for me. And when it when it when it popped up and was revealed, like it was I I couldn't stop laughing. Uh and I think it's a it's a different approach to reveal that the killer's true identities are siblings. And you know, so kudos to Mercedes, their director, and I think the writer was Josh Freelander, uh, for you know, perhaps thinking outside the box. And uh, but other than that, you know, the fights were great, uh, the deaths were great. So I thought it was a really solid ending.
SPEAKER_10Um we'll we'll really try breaking the girl, but you know, well, that at the end, all that scar tissue will heal.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I mean, to uh and also to the end, to you know, we've been talking shit on Diego, but Diego found his balls at the end where he finally swung the axe with a killer swing to hit her hit uh Sin in the face and break her jaw off. Like before that was like half-hearted swings, but then right when he wound up for that, he you saw him like grip the axe like a baseball bat. Like he was ready to go in that moment. He was finally done being walked around, walked over. So uh, you know.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, yeah. They came out on the higher ground.
SPEAKER_02One of the other little little notes I picked up from the end, and and this was just me because uh I've seen it time and time again where movies try to open up for the possibility of uh sequels and stuff, is that that the after the kills were done, the look on Sage's face was one of those of joy and happiness that they've got through this. But part of me, and I think the it might have been the blood that was all over her, kind of gave her that evil look a little bit. Oh yeah. When she was smiling at at uh Diego and he smiled back at her that maybe this is where you know this couple actually ends up going and replacing Sin and Will at the house or something. So that's equal that was just kind of a I'm I may be reading too much into it, but that would be Yeah, they're like Village and Orchid, one of those openings that that would allow them to do a sequel type of thing.
SPEAKER_04So yeah, nice. All right, so guys, let's give it our stabs. Steve, what do you stab bone?
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna give this a four, solid four, maybe a hair more, but uh I really like the movie. It it was unexpected unexpected, and uh I love the ending of it. Um it's it's not a slasher, it's not your typical horror movie, not a lot of jump scares. I don't think there was really any jump scares except for the scrotum piercing. Yeah, that's true. The everything everything else was that slow burn. I love that. When things started to escalate, it was like, okay, what's gonna happen? What's gonna happen? And it just went from there. Um, so I really liked that the the movie in that aspect. The ending was good, a lot of good uh settling between the between the couples. So um uh yeah, solid four for me.
SPEAKER_04Perfect. All right, Roger, what about you, stabs?
SPEAKER_10I'm gonna give it uh three and a half stabs, Derek. All right, I I think it's I think it's uh decent. It's it's it's not a great movie, but it's uh it's decent. I I guess I I can I could usually put it four as as you rate it as good. But um, it's just in that in that realm. I I gave it uh on my IMD on my letterbox, I give it three, which three to me is a good is yeah in the middle movie. It's okay. Yeah, it's fine.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_10Um it was yeah, it uh it builds up. It's a slow one, but when you get to the the last 15 minutes, 20 minutes, it really really kicks in in uh gear four. And um yeah, uh a different uh different type of movie we're getting. Uh so you know, uh the you know, the tones a little little here and there changes as we go, but uh yeah, you know, it's good, it's fun times. It it it did it didn't make me like, what kind of movies does Steve watch?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. The beginning I was like, is this like a softcore horror movie? Is this like is this what we're doing?
SPEAKER_10Ian, shut your eyes and get out of the room.
SPEAKER_04Well, it's funny because so Carrie and I watched this last night, and before we watched, we started watching, she's like, uh, can Ian watch this with us? I was like, fuck no. I was like, no, he's not watching this. She's like, is it that violent? I'm like, no, it's some other stuff. Uh so for me, this movie uh I found I to you know give to equate it to something. Uh this was a sandwich of a movie with some dry mediocre meat and fantastic bread. Like the beginning, like I talked about the intro scene, was great. The ending, I think, is all what we wanted. Uh, but I just didn't I didn't enjoy the middle as much as I enjoyed the rest of it. And you know, I I spoke about it before, but we could have cut out some of the manipulation stuff from the brother and sister killers and like start to get to like the real tension. Uh overall, decent film. Uh, so I ended up on a three stabs.
SPEAKER_10So you're saying it's like a little like a uh baloney and liver or sandwich, but on like a really nice toasted buttered French roll.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna say it's a pub sub with some Subway meat.
SPEAKER_10Ooh, and all Subway meat is turkey based, if you didn't know that, including the ham.
SPEAKER_04So there you go. I'm getting premium bread, but meat for meat.
SPEAKER_10Ooh. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04You like that? That's for you.
SPEAKER_10But but sometimes that chicken bacon. Ranch slap so at Subway, so just throw it out there.
SPEAKER_04Oh, okay. Well, um everything being turkey based at Subway is fine because I I always just get turkey, anyways. So there you go. Um, all right, guys, with that, let's move into voices from beyond. And this is where I go through our social media platforms and I share your guys' thoughts that you shared with us. So, first up on Facebook, we have Quinlan D. And Quinlan said, The first I heard of this film is when the opening scene was circulating horror-based social accounts, and it definitely suggested a different type of movie than what we get here. Uh, to the film's credit, it's doing some interesting things while poking at the insecurities of relationships. Uh, the acting stands out as does the visual storytelling. Each of our four characters left defined and engaging, felt defined and engaging, sorry. Uh, he goes on to say, uh, it was a stressful viewing as intended to be, and I still made it through to the end. That being said, I thought the relationship between the antagonists felt like a step too far. Being sadistic killers is more than enough deviance, and the additional layer felt like a hat on a hat in that case. Not my favorite, but I'd watch more from this director in the future due to the overall quality. Quinlan gives it three out of five stabs.
SPEAKER_10Oh, on that note about the director. I uh we were talking for a sec. I went on uh letterbox and clicked on his some of his other movies.
SPEAKER_03Isn't it her Mercedes?
SPEAKER_10Oh, it might be her. Sorry. But uh so she had another movie called Come Fuck My Robot.
SPEAKER_05No, you're not. That's gotta be a lie.
SPEAKER_10It's a 12-minute short about a shy teen virgin answering an adventure's call for volunteers asleep with a prototype robot, and another movie called Spoonful of Sugar, which I then immediately thought of the name titled, you know, name cinnamon.
SPEAKER_04So hell yeah, there you go.
SPEAKER_10Like some sugar and spice, yeah, and fuck robots. So, you know, so it makes sense. We made Rabone Lake.
SPEAKER_04Wow. Uh Mercedes, she uh she's got uh she's got a sexual, she's got a theme to her movies. Very cool. Uh so next up on Voices from Beyond, we had Matt F. And Matt said, uh, three minutes in, I was ready for a crazy ass adventure. At those little three minutes, totally took me for a ride. Then what I was given was not what was promised in the beginning. The acting I thought was wonderful. However, I did not believe the characters, if that makes any sense. I plotted through the next 57 minutes. Uh, I even took notes during the movie, and they don't make they don't make sense to me now. So if that so that tells me something.
SPEAKER_10Um he needs to work on his penmanship because sometimes I can't read my own notes.
SPEAKER_04Matt, you need to talk to Roger. You guys can figure out how to do it.
SPEAKER_10It sounds like to me, Matt's upset that he didn't get more nuts. Matt, so Matt's review, more balls, please. He really enjoyed that first time.
SPEAKER_04He wanted more balls getting impaled, exactly. Uh, but Matt finishes off saying, But I did like the ending. Two and a half arrows through the scrotum. So I think you're right. He gave instead of stabs, he gave it arrows through the scrotum. So, Roger, I think you're right. Matt wanted more nuts getting pulverized. Uh, next up, we had Brian M. And Brian said, Well, that was certainly an interesting opening scene. But shout out to whoever was able to hit that guy's shriveled up nutsack with a crossbow.
SPEAKER_10Good call, Brian. Well, they when they filmed that scene, it was 35 degrees outside.
SPEAKER_04So I read that on I got some interesting, interesting. Oh, you put that on there?
SPEAKER_10Okay, I was pointing it out. No, you're why those balls were tight. They were super tight.
SPEAKER_04Uh, so Brian goes on to say, I immediately hated Sage and Diego when they were introduced and was hoping they'd meet a similar fate to the first two characters. And almost as quickly as they arrived, I figured out Sin and Will were behind everything. Even knowing that I still found the villainous couple more likable than the ones who were supposed to be rooting for. I felt like the second half of the movie saved it, even though I I was still pulling for Sin and Will to claim another couple of victims and continue with their games. Still, this has been a this has been the best of the three movies so far that I have never heard of before. So three stabs. I think the the other movies, I don't think because he he's he knows Evil Dead, so uh Deadstream, Unname the Unnameable, and Bone Lake. So Bone Lake got the best stabs from Brian Ebb. So thanks, Brian, for your thoughts. Uh moving on, we got Lisa R. And Lisa said the beautiful and talented. There you go. I was waiting for your moment. Lisa goes on to say, uh, Bone Lake had an ish interesting premise. I have to give it credit for being a clever idea. Unfortunately, I predicted where the story was going within the first ten minutes, and from there it never really surprised me. Uh the kills were well done and probably the strongest part of the movie, but the overall execution execution just didn't land for me. I felt like the story had a lot of potential, but couldn't fully capitalize on its concept. I kept waiting for a twist that would prove me wrong, but it played out almost exactly how I expected. Overall, it's a decent watch if you're looking from for some solid kills, but the plot was too predictable. Two out of five stabs.
SPEAKER_10Lisa doesn't like to unravel the watch the movie unraveled in the first few minutes, but she's really good at the mystery. Yeah, she she called the killers out immediately. She's like, Oh, they're the bad guys.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Does she also call that their brother and sister?
SPEAKER_10No. Okay.
SPEAKER_04I was like, she did. I was like, holy shit, she's like the best.
SPEAKER_10Keep in the family. That's all. Yeah, exactly. So they would have beautiful, beautiful mongloid children if they had a child. Monglo. This could be the birth. This could if she this could be a big thing. We could have a sequel of Friday 13th. This could have been the birth of Jason here. Yeah, why Jason was a Mongloid. Miss Voorhees got opportunity.
SPEAKER_04We didn't know that she got taken up in a propeller like that. But uh next up off of TikTok, we got some comments off of TikTok. Uh we had a Felicia on TikTok, and she said, uh, I have watched it and it's okay. It's not the worst movie, but it's not that great either. And then that was that was Felicia. And then our last comment on TikTok was from Alex, and he simply just said, Looks fire. And he gave a fire emoji.
SPEAKER_10Nice. Thanks, Alex.
SPEAKER_04Which is a very, which is a very TikTok comment using a fire emoji. So thank you, Alex, Felicia, and all of our usual voices from beyond for sharing your thoughts with us. And uh, yeah, as you guys know, you can go to our comment sections on our posts and share your guys' thoughts on these movies, and they get read on the podcast. So, next up is Luce S. And this is a catch-all segment where we talk about any fun facts or any lasting thoughts we have on a film. So uh, Steve, I'll throw it out to you first if you have any fun facts or lasting thoughts.
SPEAKER_02Well, I don't have any fun, fun facts. Um it's it's a it's good, but it's not classic, you know. It's not one of those that is going to be, you know, five years from now, no one will even know what Bone Lake is. Um there'll be other horror horror films, but I love the whole mind game between the couples. That that's one of the things that that read to me was who's screwing who mentally. And is it that's that's yeah, and or physical, yeah, exactly. Yeah, and not getting an arrow to the scrotal. Um, so yeah, I I think that's gonna be the the gonna be our mantras, arrow to the strode. Um, so yeah, pineapple.
SPEAKER_04Um Roger's safe word was just called out by Steve.
SPEAKER_10So you're saying this one's not gonna be inducted into the Library of Congress anytime soon.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't think it'll be one of those movies. The thing one, but not this one.
SPEAKER_04All right, Roger, what about you? Did you have any uh Lucent stuff? Last two thoughts or fun facts.
SPEAKER_10I will say that the local authorities of this area just not very good. Or well, if you think look, if you all these people are coming to this Airbnb and disappearing, right? You would think that what if people are coming from long distances, they're not like like local. But like you think those authorities would be like, oh man, Airbnb, and then they're either they would investigate the Airbnb area of these or the last place these people have disappeared from, and it seems like it's been going over a long period of time. And literally the cars and bodies are in the lake, all you had to do is just search the property, and they go shit. But they never make any reference, like any investigations ever came to that house or anything like that. That was my only thing about the movie. I was like, that's kind of weird. You would think like you would really heavily search the area where the all these couples have been ending up, and if these police did some research, they would dig that they aren't the only ones that have disappeared in that time frame and have all gone to this Airbnb. But uh, that's just that's just me. Because the mansion was the the the two uh Wills and Cinnamons, it was her parents who they did murder and throw in the lake as well. But yeah, there's no first ones. What happened to their parents? You know, they're in their rich elitists. So you would think that the parent, you know, they would have this heavily search party for their parents, but obviously it never happened. So that's my only my only uh call-out uh thing about the movie that I thought about and just just I just ignored it, just ignored it and just uh that actually crossed my mind while I was watching it.
SPEAKER_02It's like you know, six people before them uh had disappeared. How what are the chances that six different couples didn't tell anybody where they were going that that they wouldn't contact the local authorities and said our family members went to this Airbnb? Can you go check to see what's going on? And and what why? It's like how do you have six couples not tell people where they're going? I mean uh that's the one thing I do even with my daughters, is you know, yeah, we're going out, we're gonna go do this just in case something happens, they they know where we're at, you know.
SPEAKER_10And you would you think one of those couples would have an air, probably at least had an uh an Apple phone had an air tag on it. Like, man, why are they hanging in the lake? Yeah, it's fine.
SPEAKER_02These couples are young enough that air tags are all over their stuff, yeah.
SPEAKER_10But that's it. And I I said it was filmed at when they filmed that opening scene, it was very cold outside, which I yeah, still Derek's.
SPEAKER_04So I can get it, I can get it to a fun fact about that right now.
SPEAKER_10Yes.
SPEAKER_04All right, so um the production encountered a notable incident during the filming of the opening sequence, which features actors Clayton Spencer and Elaine Reese running through the forest. Uh, despite the on-screen appearance of a lush environment, temperatures on set were 35 degrees Fahrenheit. And during the shoot, a smoke machine caught fire, uh, necessitating a call to the local fire department. Uh, and when the crew accidentally began filming before the firefighters had shown up, the emergency responders witnessed the lead actors performing in a nude.
SPEAKER_10They're like, What kind of movie is this?
SPEAKER_04I know. Well, that's I I think uh everyone on production was just like they came, they put it out, and they're just like, All right, we'll see you guys later.
SPEAKER_10Nick side eyes people dress as firemen, like we got a fire to put a fire in someone's pants put out.
SPEAKER_02Hey, we showed up to a party, dude.
SPEAKER_04Super cold in the winter. I mean, in the forest running around 35 degrees, like to Roger's point. Boy, shriveled up for sure.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Good shot though.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, good shot. Yeah, like Brian said, great shot. Um, next up, I have when Diego and Sage arrive at the rental property, the QR code on the front door serves as a functional link. Uh, while the characters use it to access the digital lock for the house, scanning the code in real life directs users to the official promotional website for the film. So I love I I love when films do that um and have like fun little, you know, interactive things for fans to get involved with. So having a little thing in a film like that where you can like be taken to a promote promotional website for the film is is super cool. So if anyone feels like pausing that scene and checking it out, let us know because I did not.
SPEAKER_10Well, I think they're gonna be paying.
SPEAKER_02I would have been disappointed if it wasn't Rick rolling us.
SPEAKER_04Oh, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_10Derek, they're gonna be pausing other scenes.
SPEAKER_04Uh yeah, you're probably definitely definitely this is a pausable movie. Is that what you're saying?
SPEAKER_10Oh yeah, they'd be wearing out that video too if it was still on VHS.
SPEAKER_06Awesome.
SPEAKER_04All right, and the last thing I have is uh Matthews, uh the cinematographer, utilized a Neo Jallo color palette and cited uh a Clockwork Orange, Evil Dead 2, and funny games as primary inspirations for the camera movements and framing. So uh, you know, like I said, I think we talked about it like the the cut shots, the the angles of the shots, the Dutch angles, whatever they call them, obviously they were you know inspired by some really fantastic films. So uh before we leave, loose ends, I had a question for you both. So I'll throw it to Steve first. Steve, if you were making a sequel to this film, what would you call it?
SPEAKER_02Um I know the first thing that came to mind is boner lake.
SPEAKER_04Um that's fair, that's great. So Steve would call this the sequel to this just boner lake. Nice. Roger, what about you?
SPEAKER_10I would call it a boned lake.
SPEAKER_04Boned lake. Oh, two of the very two two of you very similar-minded. I like it. I would go bonelake to the boner.
SPEAKER_10The boner.
SPEAKER_04No, the boner. Not cruise control, more more boned, the bonerer. Bone to boner. All right, so that was that. Uh thanks for hanging out for loose ends. All right, guys. So that takes us through talking about the bone lake. It's not the bone lake, it's bone lake. But um, next up, we gotta go to the wheel of death. First, we're gonna have to replace the bone lake on the wheel, and I'm gonna share my screen. Share it.
SPEAKER_10I don't see nothing.
SPEAKER_04There it is. All right, so first we are going to our master list, and we are going to uh have the wheel replace uh bone lake on our wheel of death. So I'm gonna spin the wheel now. And the film replacing Bone Lake is Smile 2. Who gave us Smile, or is that one of us? It wasn't mine. Let me look.
SPEAKER_10Or is it you?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, Smile 2 was me. It was one of my films.
SPEAKER_10Good job, there.
SPEAKER_04So we are gonna go to our wheel and we are going to put Smile 2 on the wheel. Oh, I went back to the wheel of death. There we are.
SPEAKER_06So we're going to take off Bone Lake. Smile. Smile 12. Smile 12. Oh no.
SPEAKER_10You're going way in the future.
SPEAKER_04It's 1956. Smile 12. All right, so let me read off the 10 movies on the wheel of death. First up, we have caveat. Then we have Planet Terror. Then Terrified. Next up, A Bay of Blood. Then we got One Cut of the Dead. Then there's The Orphanage. Next up, Brain Scan. Then we have Together. Speaking of Dave Franco. After that, we have the coffee table. Hell yeah. And rounding out our wheel of death is Smile 2.
SPEAKER_10I know we're gonna we're gonna get together because we brought the Dave Franco into the into the uh I wouldn't be upset.
SPEAKER_04I think I think that's uh that was submitted by Ray M, our listener, uh, from our good friend and listener.
SPEAKER_10I have a 30% chance one of these are gonna be mine. Let's play these odds.
SPEAKER_04Good job. All right, are you guys ready to do the wheel of death chant? Let's do it while we spin the wheel. All right, so I'm gonna count to three, and after three, we'll start the chant. Ready? One, two, three.
SPEAKER_10Wheel of wheel of death.
SPEAKER_04And next up, we have a Roger pick, and that is the movie Caveat. Yes. Roger, can you do me a favor and look up where caveat is streaming or playing?
SPEAKER_10I can I can do that. Let me have, I don't know how to spell it. There it is. And sir, it's directed by our boy Damien McCarthy. Damien McCarthy. Who is a veteran of the podcast who did you guys did Oddity.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_10And recently. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_04We didn't we didn't cover Oddity.
SPEAKER_10I thought you did Oddity.
SPEAKER_04No, we talked about it in our top five of 2024.
SPEAKER_10Well, we did talk about it in an episode.
SPEAKER_04Yes, we did. So we didn't go we didn't review it total, but we did talk about it.
SPEAKER_10And he um also did recently hook 'em, if anybody's wondering.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I I still have to watch that.
SPEAKER_10You can stream it on uh shutter andor AMC Plus.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_10Because I remember that's where I saw it uh when I when I picked it. And also you can render by it on Apple TV, Google, and Amazon video. Okay. But it is a shutter, it is on the old shutter slash aim amc plus.
SPEAKER_04Perfect. You know, just as always, if you guys pay attention to our socials, if we find it anywhere else, we'll post it up there. But yeah, do do run, watch this movie, and then uh share your thoughts in our posts.
SPEAKER_10I have never seen it. I picked it, I picked it because of the director, because I just I saw Hokum and I and I really love Hokum and I really love Oddity. So I'd never seen his first film, so I just chose it because I just want to see his first movie, his first team in the future. So here we go. It could be bad, it could be good.
SPEAKER_04I'm looking forward to it. It's it's it'll be it'll be new for both of us, much like this film. Uh, before we wrap this episode up, I do want to thank Steve so much for joining us on this episode, not only for giving us bone length to cover, but like I said, recording with us on the podcast. I know it can be difficult with people's schedules and being able to make it work. We always appreciate it. So, Steve, thanks for finding the time and thanks for joining us today. SPEAKER_10Oh shit, I'm gonna spell pineapple. Oh pineapple.
SPEAKER_06Pineapple. Safe word pineapple. That's better. Hey.
SPEAKER_02I made it. I made it.
SPEAKER_04What's up, Steve? Not much. Cool. Hey, congratulations. We can see you.
SPEAKER_02I don't know what it was, like you said. I just when you said that you had to go back in, I said, okay, well, let me try that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's it's kind of ridiculous with technology. It's like sometimes you just have to turn it off and turn it back on. It's hilarious.
SPEAKER_02Love your background, Derek.
SPEAKER_04Thanks, bud. I was I was between a couple different options, and I decided with the two couples standing opposed to each other. So yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_04All right. Uh is everyone good to go? Do you do you need to mess with your settings at all? Are you comfortable?
SPEAKER_02No, I'm I'm good. I mean, uh if you don't mind me being kind of darkish, I don't know why that is, but anyways. No, you're fine. Here, let's try this.
SPEAKER_10Whoa, look at that lighting.
SPEAKER_02Woohoo! I have a bank light, so I just turn up the green shield so it shines in my face. And that's okay. I've been used to having a light shining in my face at the theater lately. It's like I get out there, I can't see anything. It's just this little spotlight right in my face.
SPEAKER_04So yeah, perfect. Yeah, so you've been you've been uh primed for this. You're ready to go.
SPEAKER_10Yep. I get the glue from the screen. That's all my light in this room.
SPEAKER_06Got my kappa. I'm good. I got my it's gonna show up. Terrifier, a terrifier mug. Uh terrifier.
SPEAKER_10This episode's brought to you by Coke Zero. The refreshing.
SPEAKER_06Hey, let's drink, boys. Let's drink.
SPEAKER_10What do you drink at Coke Zero, Rod? Yep. It's because it's zero calories uh and zero protein. Coke zero.
SPEAKER_02Zero sugar.
SPEAKER_10Is it zero sugar too? Hold on. It is also zero sugar. It's like drinking water, but better.
SPEAKER_02The regular Coke Zero, the cherry Coke Zero.
SPEAKER_10Oh, regular. I don't do cherry. Cherry's disgusting. It's the worst thing ever in this world.
SPEAKER_04Fuck that. You know what? I am not a Pepsi fan, but I am a Cherry Pepsi fan. Their cherry pep cherry Pepsi is better than cherry coke. What up?
SPEAKER_03Hi Dad. Hi Derek. Hi.
unknownHi.
SPEAKER_10What? Yeah, we were talking about things we could do. I was like, just walking here with a fake penis and slap me in the face randomly during the recording walk away. Bye. Have fun. She's going to the gym.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, Carrie's taking Ian to Spirit Halloween.
SPEAKER_10Oh, we just went last night.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Ben, when Sandy was doing physical therapy, I was in the Spirit Halloween. Very nice.
SPEAKER_04Very nice. Um, yeah.
SPEAKER_10They just bought uh Hot Topic.
SPEAKER_04Did they spirit it?
SPEAKER_10I just read it. Yeah, I read it this morning. Yeah, they the Spirit Spencer's Holdings is their company name in the uh they just bought Hot Topic. Spirit in Box One.
SPEAKER_02Spencer's too. That's cool. Yeah, they usually have a lot of good stuff for Halloween come out too.
SPEAKER_04So I wonder if they'll have start have having Halloween records in uh Spirit. That'd be sick.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I would love that. I love me some good vinyl. I got a new vinyl showing up today. It's John Carpenter's latest mood, latest uh record. So okay. Oh nice.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_10I got I got his all his anthology series records and and I just got obsession soundtracked in yesterday. Oh my nice dude. Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_06Very cool. All right, you boys ready? Sudden. All right. I'll kick this off.
SPEAKER_04But yeah, let's uh let's you know kick this off how we kick them all off, which is uh guys, anything scary happened or you watch anything scary? And Roger, I'll throw it to you first.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, maybe.
SPEAKER_05Should I go to Steve first?
SPEAKER_10Well, yeah, yeah, because I left my phone in the other room, which had my list on it. So I'm gonna step away for one second to go grab it because I realize it's not in front of me. Uh I'll be right back. Hold on one second.
SPEAKER_04Well, I don't want you to miss Steve's stuff, so we'll we'll hold off because we'll we'll just we'll edit this out. Or I'll put it on the end as bloopers. Bloopers. Yeah, bloopers. Bloopers are good. Yeah, we we so I added any of the you know sidetracked or bullshit stuff, and I throw it on at the end to uh as like a blooper slash whatever gag reel.
SPEAKER_06So hey, there he is. Did he lose it? He lost his list.
SPEAKER_05It's funny watching Roger wander around the room trying to look for his list. That was hilarious. Dude, I was just watching you pace back and forth in your room looking for your list or your phone, and I don't know.
SPEAKER_10I couldn't no, I got my phone. Okay, I couldn't find my phone. That's my that's my my list. I was like, where'd it go? It's literally right there. I was like, shit. I thought I left it in the uh uh garage because I was doing some 3D printing stuff.
SPEAKER_04Oh, sick. So cool.
SPEAKER_06All right, so I'll I'll redo that part again. And are you ready, Roger, when I throw it to you?
SPEAKER_09Yes, okay.
SPEAKER_06Yes, I am also the camera work.
SPEAKER_04I think there was that one shot when Will is busting into the sex room and he's like banging on the lock, and we get the perspective of the camera uh from the lock looking at Will, and it's just like it's it's turning a quarter inch. Oh, I just whoa.
SPEAKER_05Wow.
SPEAKER_04Oh I have to watch using my hands because my camera's gonna zoom in on me.
SPEAKER_10Damn, Spielberg, look at you.
SPEAKER_04I I have like an AI camera thing that I just give it a thing and it zooms in on me. But um, let me redo that part.
SPEAKER_06So um, yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's about all I have. Like I said, there wasn't anything witty or catchy or funny to that you would have to use in your day-to-day life, like I died to do with um with uh catchy phrases, but uh yeah, that was my favorite dialogue scene right there.
SPEAKER_10So yeah, yeah, that's my favorite, my camera did it again. Roger. Let me fix it real quick. It just started sinking. I was like, what's going on?
SPEAKER_02I have to tell the the wire, the wire, the wire behind it is tightened it, it's is tightened.
SPEAKER_10I have another wire across, so it keeps after a while it just pulls down. So I gotta fix it after that.
SPEAKER_06Boop. Well done.
SPEAKER_04That was awesome. We have been recording for two hours and 20 minutes.
SPEAKER_10Well, it always goes by so quick.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna I'm gonna have to up our uh subscription of Buzz Sprout because uh I think we get three hours for the month. So I'm gonna I'm gonna have to pay for that bigger subscription.
SPEAKER_10We can just make the next one really short. All right, guys, we gotta do this in less than 40 minutes, 40 minutes, right?
SPEAKER_04No, this was fantastic. Uh Steve, uh yeah, thank you again. This this was uh this was a good time. No worries. Thank you.
SPEAKER_10I appreciate it. Do you have a show today?
SPEAKER_02Yes, I do. 2 30, right? No, it's at 7 30.
SPEAKER_04Oh, today's 2. Oh, okay. Um oh that's right. Uh and is is this the last weekend for the for the show?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. We have tonight's show, and tomorrow's the closing. So's at 2. Tonight's at 7:30. Cast party after tonight.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Where you guys are guys going to Red Robin?
SPEAKER_02No, no, my girls won't do red robin. Oh. Um, we're going to Dunedin Bowling Alley. There you go.
SPEAKER_10Bowling? You got my attention.
SPEAKER_04I had their pizza before, it's pretty solid. Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah. So I'm curious. Uh, you know, you this is your first production. Are you are you gonna be looking to do more plays in the future?
SPEAKER_02Uh, I hope to be. Uh, someone suggested something for Francis Wilson Playhouse. Uh, I may or may not do that one. Stephen has mentioned that he wants to do another one of these anthologies, but with different different characters. So I would probably be in on that uh for sure since we did this first one. I'll keep my eyes open for other opportunities. I'm not a big singer, I've done singing past. Um I I I can look at a music a sheet of music. I have no idea what the notes sound like when I look at it. So what I do is when I s if I do any singing, I had repraced with some videos, audios that I pulled down from the songs. But I mean, it was I I sang horribly, but the deacon sometimes is not a singer, he's a deacon. So um it it works out. I mean, like last night I I was actually shocked. I mean, it it caught me off guard because I stopped singing so that AD can start her Are You Washed in the Blood again? right before I do the chorus. And people were singing the chorus before she started in with Washed in the blood. And I'm like, the hell?
SPEAKER_04Crab participation fucked it up.
SPEAKER_02It literally caught me off guard. I'm like, uh okay. So I just went right back into it and sang the second verse like I was supposed to. And and then everybody's singing the chorus. I'm like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that was awesome. But yeah, uh, we'll be we'll be paying attention, and you know, any production you're a part of will be we'll be coming out and checking you out. So that it was just it was cool to see you like that yesterday, and look forward to many more if that's what you're into.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I have I appreciate the flowers that are in a tiki mug right now because I don't have any bigger bases.
SPEAKER_04Hey, I would I would want them in nothing else than a tiki mug for you. That's that's a perfect spot.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_04Very good. All right, well, my tailbone is killing me.
SPEAKER_02So go get go get some ibuprofen or tylenol and um relax. I gotta get a shower and shave before I get over to the theater.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, there you go.
SPEAKER_02All right, we'll see you later. You guys take care. It was a lot of fun. I appreciate it. Yep, thanks, bud. All right, take care. Bye. Bye.
