that"},{"startTime":432.17,"endTime":434.9,"body":"the financial lifeblood"},{"startTime":434.9,"endTime":437.38,"body":"of the Spanish and Portuguese empires"},{"startTime":437.38,"endTime":440.41,"body":"was their global reach,"},{"startTime":440.41,"endTime":443.06,"body":"the gold and silver from the Americas"},{"startTime":443.06,"endTime":445.45,"body":"and the staggeringly lucrative trade"},{"startTime":445.45,"endTime":448.13,"body":"in spices and other goods from financing,"},{"startTime":465.56,"endTime":468.52,"body":"self-governing they keep the"},{"startTime":465.56,"endTime":468.52,"body":"government and the publics"},{"startTime":468.52,"endTime":471.25,"body":"of their home countries at arm's length,"},{"startTime":471.25,"endTime":474.82,"body":"but they're also never just
