Over 50 years, Higher Education provision has expanded enormously, with more students, institutions, courses and professors than previously imagined. This lecture looks at how this has affected the industry: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/more-means-better-fifty-years-of-higher-education

Kingsley Amis famously argued that, in higher education, "More Means Worse." On the basis of 50 years of teaching, research and administration, the Provost argues that, on the contrary, the expansion of universities, student numbers and research since the 1960s has benefited students, economies and societies throughout the world.

The transcript and downloadable versions of the lecture are available from the Gresham College Website: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/more-means-better-fifty-years-of-higher-education
