What has been done, and what might we do about two of the world's most repressive states: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/burma-and-north-korea-avoid-the-law-unless-convenient

Conflicts in both these countries show the real limits of international law when there are powerful neighbours and geo-political interests to worry about. Both conflicts show how easy it is without international legal intervention for such conflicts to stay little known. In this lecture the history of these conflicts, and the atrocities known to have been committed in each, will be summarised and set beside legal actions that have been attempted but that failed.

The transcript and downloadable versions of the lecture are available from the Gresham College Website: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/burma-and-north-korea-avoid-the-law-unless-convenient
