May 17, 2007
Gresham College
Past Gresham Professor, The Rev Jack Mahoney, will draw from his new book, The Challenge of Human Rights - Origin, Development and Significance in which he considers the charges against human rights of Western ethical imperialism and the counterclaims of cultural relativism, before concluding that human rights are an invaluable moral resource which culminate in a cosmopolitan recognition of the whole human race as a single moral family.
