Samuel Tan
CEO, All Saints Home
Samuel Tan joined All Saints Home as CEO in Nov 2019, after spending 30 years with the insurance industry, the last 23 years with German insurer Allianz in various regional leadership positions in Risk Consulting, Underwriting and Claims.
An active volunteer himself, Samuel is currently Board Member of Presbyterian Preschool Services and Glory Presbyterian Church. He had previously served as board member of Presbyterian Community Services, St Luke’s Hospital, Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School, and Providence Care Centre.
An avid pianist, violinist, songwriter and music arranger, Samuel was a pioneer of the Xinyao (folk songs written by young Singaporeans) movement in the 1980s. For his contributions to the development of local music in Singapore, he was conferred the COMPASS (Composers and Authors Society of Singapore) Meritorious Award in 2018. He was also a winner of the Best Performer Award and First Prize of the Piano Open Section at the National Music Competition in 1981.
Samuel obtained his BBA from the National University of Singapore and MBA from Monash University, Australia. He was a Chartered Insurer and holds two Licentiates of the Royal Schools of Music in piano and violin performing.
For his role in managing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Samuel was awarded the Public Service Medal (Covid-19). All Saints Home was also awarded the President’s Certificate of Commendation (Covid-19).
Samuel is married with three grown up children (two of whom are married), and a lovely 18-month old granddaughter.
