Simon Daubney
New Zealander sail trimmer Simon Daubney has won the Cup no less than five times, establishing him as one of the legends of the America’s Cup. The Hall of Famer started sailing in dinghies and has competed in three Olympic Games and holds eight World Championship titles.
But it is his achievements in the America’s Cup that have established him as one of the most experienced match racers in Grand Prix sailing - only Murray Jones has won more titles. He started with New Zealand Challenge in 1987 and 1992, before winning and defending the Cup for the Kiwis in 1995 and 2000. He then joined Alinghi to claim the Cup in 2003 and 2007, before winning the Cup again with Team USA in 2013.
