Brock Phillips grew up in Fort Langley, BC, screaming Avenged Sevenfold lyrics in the backseat with his headphones in. Now he's in Nashville with a publishing deal, four hundred songs in the catalogue, and his name on Canadian radio.
On this episode, Brock talks about the four years he walked away from music completely, why squeezing it too tight almost killed it for him, and how a random bar gig at Simon Fraser University changed everything. He gets into his love for Jason Isbell, his philosophy on songwriting with intention, and why he thinks country music is whatever you want it to be right now.
