Author and education leader Kyle Palmer uses the mashup word "parentship" to bring clarity to the important work of creating partnerships with parents or adults who care for students. Brazosport Independent School District is located about 50 miles south of Houston on the gulf coast. It serves eight different municipalities and students who come from diverse experiences and  backgrounds–from high poverty to highly affluent.
