In this episode, we will discuss the impact of blood pressure or hypertension on our health and wellness. 

In 2019, more than half a million deaths in the United States had hypertension as a primary or contributing cause.

High blood pressure costs the United States about $131 billion each year, averaged over 12 years from 2003 to 2014.

You will learn about the risks associated with high blood pressure, the causes, symptoms, and ways to prevent and control high blood pressure, and manage stress. Our experts also discuss how blood pressure and health considerations vary for men and women and how considerations may change over a person's lifetime.

We will also provide a basic primer on what the elements of blood pressure are - systolic and diastolic and how activities of daily living - eating, exercise, stress, smoking, drugs,  alcohol, marijuana, and sex affect blood pressure.
