Finding Treasures

25. Star Festival & History of Sugar in Japan

Season 1 Episode 25

July 7th is Star Festival & Konpeitō Day! I talk about Konpeitō, sugary sweet that was introduced to Oda Nobunaga from Portugal during the Sengoku (War States) period in Japan. I am also talking about the history of sugar in Japan and tea ceremony.

Check out my previous episode  (ep 24) for the relations between Nobunaga and Konpeitō.
