Wings
Year 1991 marked the beginning of a New India, a year that kick started a democratisation process of a new kind, one that rode the waves of Internet, Television Broadcast Networks & Mobile Telecommunications. This has shaped a new generation of youth deeply anchored in Indian values yet having global aspirations, a cohort for whom the world is a playground. The Wings podcast is an attempt to bring forth stories of these youth where they share how they see themselves and the world they inhabit, their hopes and fears, their dreams and aspirations. It's an attempt to 'discover the extraordinary in the ordinary' and is driven by a belief that ‘the future is born in the web of human conversations'.
The storytellers in the Wings Podcast are Young Indians from across socio-economic strata, from urban and semi-urban India, ones who have found their own Wings or are in the process of discovering them with an aim to take them far and wide.

S4E18: Fabric called...DEI
Human context is imbued with certain timeless themes that need periodic revisit, reexamination and renewal. Diversity, Equality & Inclusion (DEI) is one such theme. This would include gender and identity, neurodiversity, social and professional diversity, cultural and ethnic diversity etc. How do we navigate this maze? What role does power inequities play in DEI context? What micro and macro processes are at play here? Is equality synonymous with sameness? How does one acknowledge and grace diversity to achieve equality and inclusion?
To explore this subject and more, here’s a conversation with Meenakshi Krishnan, a researcher and practitioner in gender studies, childcare and development. With a PhD from Institute of Development Studies (IDS), UK and an MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur India, Meenakshi has over two decades of work experience in Corporate HR & independent Organisation Development Consulting. She currently works & lives in Brighton, UK with her daughter and husband.
