Hello, this is Judy Copenbarger, bestselling author, international speaker, money whisperer, financial expert, and creator of Money, Truth, and Life. Welcome to the Money, Truth, and Life podcast.

We are talking about the holidays today. We are right in the middle of it, and it is time for a holiday reset.

There are simple habits you can put in place to help you stay present and not feel pressured. That is what we want, presence, not pressure.

Think about why the holidays can feel so overwhelming. There are birthdays, wrapping, decorating, extra food, parties, and endless activities. On top of that, the year is wrapping up. School semesters are ending. Work deadlines are piling up. It all stacks together, and the pace gets intense.

So what is a reset? A reset is really a refocus. It is taking a breath and asking yourself a few important questions. Why am I doing this? What is the outcome I want? Am I actually connecting, or am I just going through the motions?

Sometimes that clarity is all you need.

You can reset in different ways. Sometimes it is mental. You pause, slow down, and clear your head. Take a walk. Get some fresh air. Sit quietly. Meditate. Even an hour can make a difference.

Sometimes it is physical. Move your body. Stretch. Go to the gym. Drink more water. Take your vitamins. Get more sleep. Most people are not sleeping enough this time of year. What if you scheduled a nap or a sleep-in morning and treated it like a real appointment?

Years ago, Larry and I were on a big European trip. We were exhausted from walking all day, every day. About a week in, we decided to skip a day of sightseeing. We rested, went to the spa, slept in, and did nothing. From that point on, the rest of the trip felt joyful again.

We have done that on almost every big trip since. One pause makes the whole experience better.

The same thing applies to the holidays.

Mindset also matters. Pay attention to your thoughts. Are you telling yourself this is one more thing you have to do, or is it something you get to do? That small shift changes everything.

Gratitude plays a huge role here. Even when we look back at mistakes or regrets, we can still be grateful for the lessons learned. Gratitude creates peace and perspective.

Sometimes journaling helps. Write down what you are grateful for. Write down what is bothering you. Getting it out of your head and onto paper can be incredibly freeing.

Language matters too. Instead of saying I cannot, try saying I am learning or I am figuring this out. Those words keep you moving forward instead of stuck.

This reset applies financially as well. You can have a financial reset just like a mental one. Your financial energy matters. Is it positive, negative, or neutral? Money touches almost every part of life, relationships, health, opportunities, and choices.

When your financial energy is healthy, everything else feels more manageable.

At its core, this season is about connection. Family. People you care about. Creating memories. That is what matters.

So consider this your holiday reset. Slow down. Refocus. Choose presence over pressure.
