Mexica: A History Podcast - Trailer
Mexica: A History Podcast is an 8-episode, audio narrative about Moctezuma, the Aztec Triple Alliance and the Conquest of Mexico. Historically sourced (from both Indigenous sources and first hand European accounts) with the goal of bringing the rich sights, scents and sounds of the Mexica world to the listener. This podcast takes the listener through the Spanish defeat of Moctezuma, his Mexica people and his Aztec allies in a richly sensual narrative.
In 1519 the Aztec Triple Alliance dominated the Valley of Mexico and beyond, encompassing an empire that stretched from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic, from the Northern deserts of Chihuahua to the jungles of Oaxaca in the south. On the coast, strangers had been appearing and wreaking havoc on their Maya neighbors. What would unfold is one of historys greatest tales of war, religion, genocide and of the cruelties of mankind. Relying on early documents and first-hand accounts, Mexica: A History Podcast brings the richness of the indigenous cultures to life, while highlighting the true stories of the men and women that participated in the closing days of the Aztec Empire.
