Greetings and welcome to the Journey View Podcast. I’m Tim Jipping and invite you to take a journey with me. This project started because one day, I had discovered there was something missing… for years, specifically an outlet for creativity. As a child and throughout my college years, creativity was regularly present and there had always been an outlet for it – it was just there, I never had to be intentional or “remember” to practice creativity. But that slowly dissipated after entering the business world and corporate America.

I found that I’m not alone in this. Getting caught up chasing the next thing, and not fully enjoying the ride that gets you there. But that’s where life happens, the journey – that IS life. So I sought out an activity that could provide a creative outlet I’ve been missing, enjoying the journey along the way and perhaps even help others do the same. Granted, creating a podcast wasn’t the first or obvious option when contemplating how to scratch the itch, but in hindsight it seems like a good fit.

Being trained as an accountant and working as a CPA for well over a decade, when you boil it down, my professional life has essentially consisted of asking questions in order to tell a story. Why not leverage those skills to tell the stories of fascinating people in an effort to learn from them and help us along the way?

I’ve always had a bent toward personal development. And one of the most effective avenues I’ve found for my own development is learning through the mistakes and successes of others. There’s something powerful about hearing the stories of people who seemingly may have nothing in common with me – say, an aerospace engineer, or a basketball coach, or an opera singer – and being able to take some of the most unlikely nuggets and apply them to my own situation or circumstance. It shouldn’t work – but it does.

Please accept this invitation to take the journey with me and be in the room listening in on conversations I have with remarkable people – to learn, to grow, to be inspired and entertained. You might be surprised in what you’ll get out of it.

And make sure you subscribe to the podcast so you don’t miss a beat. You can also follow the Journey View on twitter, facebook, and Instagram to see what we’re up to.

Please enjoy the following highlights from the first round of episodes coming your way. Through wide-ranging discussions and guests, you’ll get a taste of what’s to come. So sit back, and enjoy the view.
